Miranda Sky made her way to the punch bowl, looking clearly bored, though ready for action. She was a bit thirsty, and wanted to meet someone, so she headed to the bowl and poured herself a bit. She hung around near a wall, taking a sip now and then.
She spotted people everywhere, and made notes of who was wearing what. She saw people she didn't know, and really no one hat she actually DID know.
Sighing, she took another sip. Maybe she could meet someone here. A boy? She had only had one boyfriend before, so most rejected her. But she had learned and hadn't asked anyone since she was sixteen-- a year ago.
She thought about the possibilities of meeting a girl who wouldn't trash her or diss her. Those possibilities were slim.
Miranda flattened her short dress -she realized just how short it was now- and continued looking around. She tapped her foot to the beat of the song, smiling ever so slightly. This was the time to now have a care in the world, and she couldn't help but give in a bit.
She threw her cup away after finishing the drink and resumed her spot near the wall, hoping for someone to say hello, or something of the sort.
Miranda couldn't help but wince after taking another mental note that she had cut her dress too short. Way too short. And that was why she didn't make her own clothes. But here she was, with a way-too short dress, and a brown headband, giving her the appearance of an Eevee with an unusual amount of fur. She had done the headband pretty well, though.

Soren walked around, though staying close to the walls. The music was blaring in his ears and the lights were so sporadic it made it hard for him to see. Why was he here again? Why had he even bothered? He let out a sigh. At least, in this costume, in this low light, he could be anyone he wanted, he could stop being what he was. His unnatural eye colors would blend in the darkness and no one would be wiser.
He finally found a spot a bit further from the speakers. There were already a few people there, some talking amongst each other, some standing alone. He took his spot next to a girl that had dressed as an eevee and just leaned back. The walls shook with every beat of the base, the vibrations resonating across his chest. His hand went to his hat, which was falling again, to readjust it slightly. Really, did anyone wear things like that? It was impossible to keep in place. The tights didn't make him too happy either. Men don't usually wear tights. Especially when they didn't have the leg muscles to go with them. He was must more used to his robes that flowed around him along with looser undergarments. But white tights was what this costume had, and it had been preferable to wear it instead of a Pokémon. The less connection he had with them that night, the less chances of him being discovered.
He pulled his black tunic down a bit to cover his scrawny legs, but it only went so far. He would just have to deal with it for the night, he figured. Never again was anyone going to convince him to wear tights.

Seeing someone approached her, Mirandas natural insinct was to say Hello. But she was in a club. That thought had been swirling in her mind lately. She looked at the boy coming near her.
Tights, eh? She giggled slightly, but then she remembered her own costume. She wasn't much better. The way-too short dress was quite poofy, so she could imagine multiple things she didn't want to say.
She finally managed a little smile at Soren, nodding her head once. "Hey." Was all she could muster. Miranda righted her headband and once again, tried to flatten her dress down a bit. She winced, though small, so no one could most likely see.
Why was it her? She didn't know. Bu she remembered that she had put, in her bag, Desiree and Honey's pokeballs in case anything were to happen. She had put Dizzy and Splash in storage for the night, because she knew if she was in real trouble, she couldnt use them. Dizzy was low-level, since she was still training him, and Splash only knew the move Splash, and she needed to get the Exp. Share to train him.

Soren was startled by the sudden greeting. He looked at the girl. Another one? Hadn't he already spent enough time with girls in the park? But what was he to expect? This was a club, people were bound to say hi. What was he going to do? What he going to take advantage of the night and try to... what was it again? Socialize? The word was so foreign to him. He didn't know how to and wasn't sure if he'd be any good at it. Normally, he could fall back on the excuse that he was different and people naturally hated him, so it did not matter how he acted, but in the cover of the darkness, where identity did not matter, Soren did not want to discover that even without his abnormal blood, he was still unliked, unwanted, to be cast aside.
He glanced at the girl. She kind of reminded him of the Mist. They must be around the same age. Mist had been nice enough to him, he remembered. She had been accepting and caring to everyone she knew. Swallowing the saliva that had gathered in his mouth, Soren nodded back and muttered a quiet "hello," the sound barely audible amongst the crowd in the club partying to the loud music.

Miranda could only barely hear the response. She continued to tap her foot to the beat, and managed a bigger smile. "Who might you be?" She was opening up slightly, and it was most likely because of the punch.
Stepping away from the wall a bit, Miranda smiled. "Im Miranda. Miranda Sky." She dipped her head, still loosening. She forgot about how short her dress was on her, though it still was quite short, and she looked to him. "Dont just stand there! You seem so lifeless!" Smiling once again, she offered her hand, leading to the dance floor. Though, she didn't have much balance, and could be influenced to ther places easily.
Miranda couldn't help it. She was 15, and at a club. It wasn't really her fault. It was the nature of a teenager.

Soren would have been happy to simply be ignored for the rest of the night and slip out when no one would miss him. If it wasn't for that scary bouncer, he would definitely have left already. Who might you be? he heard her ask, before giving out her own name so freely. Miranda Sky. It was a nice name, he guessed, though he hadn't met anyone with a name that made him frown yet. "S-soren," he managed to stutter out. Though he hadn't had a drink yet, just smelling it in the air seemed to be making his previously impenetrable mask falter. Or it might have been the whole aura and atmosphere of the club that made it hard for him to concentrate.
She offered to dance with him and he could feel panic rising in him. He did not dance! He did not know how, and frankly never wanted to learn. He had seen other people dance before, when he was in the mercenaries. They would have victory parties and the other members would dance around the fire while he secluded himself to his tent. They would not have appreciated his presence. No one ever did. Humans didn't want his kind around, he reminded himself. She was probably the same and would realize how different he was soon. Or maybe this was a setup to humiliate him? Maybe it was a cruel joke, and the moment he started to dance people are going to start to laugh at his inability to do just that.
"I- I can't dance!" he said, placing both hands in front of him, palm facing the girl in a move of avoidance. If he wasn't already against the wall, he would have backed up further.

Hearing the name, along with a stutter, Miranda nodded. "Soren." She would remember that, like the other names she already remembered.
When he put his hands up, she dropped hers and frowned. "No, eh?" She was dissapointed, but she wasn't angry. "I won't hurt ya'." Miranda stepped a little to the side, farther from the dance floor.
"I can't convince you?" She smiled flirtingly. How many cups of punch had she had? One, maybe two? She didn't know anymore. She batted her eyelashes before offering her hand again. She almost tripped onthe process but her hand was still there. Again, though, she was most likely going to follow if led somewhere else, stumbling no matter where she went. As in, she was majorly off balance, and could be pulled. But that was what she was like all the time.
Miranda still tapped her foot, though a little out of rythm now, and she waited for a response. "Come on, Soren." It wasn't exactly a coax, but not a demand either.

Soren shook his head. "I really can't," he said. He glanced to either sides of him. Where could he go? What could he do? Where did all of his tactical genius go to? Of course, normally, he did not have to think on the fly while in a club, surrounded by drunk people dancing and a human girl, asking him to dance as well. He was never put in these kinds of situations before, nor did he ever sought these kinds of places. Maybe this was why he had opted to stay secluded while the others partied. It was much safer when he was alone. "I don't know how," he settled, hoping she would understand. "You... find others to accompany you. Better." Why she had even decided he would be good company in events like this, he did not know.
His fingers fiddled with the costume he was wearing, playing with the drawstrings of the inner layer. This was bad. He couldn't act like this; it was disgraceful. He was never this nervous, never this unable to perform. He told himself to take a deep breath, focus and find a way out of this mess, but his body did not cooperate, still drawing small, almost panicked breaths. He did manage to look away, though, his gaze shifting downwards, but the flashing lights made it impossible for him to pretend he was not trapped in a club with a bunch of humans.

Miranda sighed. "Humph." She dropped her hand once more, and moved to the wall. She spoke softly, though it wasn't meant to be. "Well, then what are you going to do? You can't just stand there he whole time, can you?" She partially didn't want him to answer that, knowing he might say yes.
She shook her head. "I'm not going to find others. They're all complete drunks." She said that as if it was an established fact, and she smiled. "I bet they dance worse than you." When it came out of her mouth, she wasn't sure I'd it was a complement or an insult. She would just have to see how he would take it.
Miranda brushed her fingers inside her bag, where her two pokeballs she had brought were. Just making sure... If everyone were really drunk, she might need some defense.
"You a trainer?" She asked suddenly. It was abrupt, but she figured that if he was, he might open up a bit. She wouldn't mind if he wasn't, it was just a nice subject for someone to talk about, and be friendly about.

Soren felt relieved that she had backed off and stopped pressuring him to go and do this social dancing thing. You can't just stand there he whole time, can you? he heard, and nodded, almost a bit frantically, at those words. That was exactly what he planned on doing. Find a dark corner where no one would notice him and just wait it out. The party couldn't go on forever. Though... the girl was still being friendly with him. What was up with that? Shouldn't she be looking for someone else right now?
Are you a trainer, she asked him. Soren nodded again. "A coordinator too," he added, but regretted it right away. She hadn't asked about that. He didn't need to include all these superfluous information. He should have just nodded and shut up, instead of going into uncharted territory. What if she decided to converse with him, next? He didn't know how to speak to people properly, didn't trust himself not to make a fool out of him. Besides, he wasn't even an official coordinator yet. He hadn't been into any contests or won any ribbons, hadn't shown off his pokemon yet, hadn't taught them how to fly to their fullest potential yet, so why was he calling himself a coordinator? That was false information, he had just given out. Would she be offended once she called him on that fact?

Miranda sighed as he nodded. That was what she had expected. She frowned, though she returned to a smile again when he answered the next question.
When he nodded again, she spoke. "I'm a trainer, too." When he mentioned being a coordinator, she shook her head. "I'm not. I want to stick to just one thing. If I eventually become the Champion, which I will, then I'll go back and become a coordinator." She said it like she already knew she was going to do that. She didn't.

Soren looked uneasy. She was not talking to him and he did not know how he wanted to reply, or if he wanted to reply at all. What was he supposed to say now? She talked about her being a trainer first, and then possibly a coordinator, but what now? What was he supposed to say? What was he expected to say? How was he supposed to know what he had to say next in instances like these? What he even supposed to respond after something like this? Soren did not know the norm, did not know how others did it, and was completely lost for words.
He had to calm down. This wasn't doing him any good. What were his options? He had to lay out the possibilities and then examine the outcomes. Not that he had any time to ponder these things. Should he talk about himself or about her? Her question had been about him, so maybe he should do the same? Or maybe she wanted to keep talking about him. Was that it? Maybe? Perhaps? He had been silent for too long already though and had to start talking soon. "I --" he started. What was he supposed to talk about, again? Himself? His what, past? Never. His present. The present was safe. He was at a party, and everyone was dressed up, so he went with the first thing that came to mind. "Shadow Link. H-He fights well." Well wasn't that just the stupidest, most useless thing he could have said?

During the silence, Miranda fidgeted, flattening her dress once more. She didn't want Soren to feel uncomfortable, as he seemed a little uneasy. She adjusted her headband before changing positions. The awkward silence was killing her. She silently dared herself to say something, but she didn't.
"Sh-Shadow Link?" She held back a giggle. How was that for random?
Miranda took it as he hadn't had anything to say, and he just struck up a conversation again, but she knew that it probably wasn't the case.
But truthfully, she had no idea who that was. She guessed that it was who he was dressed as, but she didn't want to risk offending Soren. "Of course." She replied, instead.
"Many people do." She pondered what else she cod say that wouldn't offend him or make him scared. "What Pokémon do you have?" It seemed like a good topic to stay on, one he knew well.

Soren knew that he had obviously said the wrong thing from her response, though anything she could have said would have probably given him that same impression. Soren looked away, trying to just hide his embarrassment. Then, she asked him about his Pokémon and the trainer froze up for a moment. What was he going to answer? Did he want to make himself obvious and display his unnaturalness through the Pokémon he had? Did he want to... lie?
"Ledyba, and Swablu," he told her, without going into too much detail. Is that the proper answer? Or should he have added information about them? Maybe she wanted him to return the question and ask her about her own Pokémon? Soren just didn't know and was getting more flustered by the second. He couldn't very well keep talking about himself. "You are?" he added, asking about her costume. Soren just hoped that he did not commit another conversation taboo, or anything of the sort.
