The day was looking up for Aikosa. It was just past noon and she had just obtained her first Pokémon. She smiled as she kept her shiny new Pokeball clasped in both hands and held up to her chest. The feeling of freedom was wonderful! Aikosa let out a merry laugh as she twirled, skipped, and generally enjoyed the feeling of new ground beneath her feet.
Aikosa slowed herself, her laugh fading as she caught her breath. She hadn't this good in...well, ever. Her ruby eyes transfixed themselves on the Pokeball. Though a little nervous, she was prepared to let out her new Pokémon. Aikosa pressed her thumb against the button on the Pokeball.
In a flash of red light, a Drifloon materialized. He seemed confused for a moment as he glanced around. He had never seen these surroundings before. Where did he come from? His eyes eventually rested back on Aikosa. Did she release him? She looked a little odd.
"Hello." Aikosa greeted with a sweet smile. "My name is Aikosa. Were you already given a name?"
The lack of response from the Drifloon made Aikosa laugh slightly. She pointed towards the ears on her head and flicked her puffy tail back and forth. "If you want to speak, I will understand you. I'm a Pokemorph. An Arcanine, to be exact."
The Drifloon hesitated. She did look like a morph. Perhaps he could speak to her. <I wasn't given a name.>
Aikosa smiled a little wider, glad that the Drifloon was able to speak with her. She rested her hands on her knees to bend over a bit to get more on it's level. "Well, why don't we give you one? Let's see..." Aikosa dropped her tone as she wondered aloud. "Let's see...Drifloon...loon...lunatic..."
He probably wouldn't appreciate being called Lunatic.
"Er, how about Tic?" Aikosa asked, hoping that he wouldn't figure out the origin of the name.
<Well...I guess.> The Drifloon didn't seem to care much. It was probably better than some of the names she could come up with, though.
"Okay then. Let's be on our way, Tic!"

Wild Wurmple appeared! As Aikosa and her Drifloon were walking along, something else was watching them from a distance.
"Avoy," muttered the Wurmple to himself as he hid in the bushes, staring at the trainer and balloon Pokemon. "Another trainer!" For you see, this Wurmple's favorite hobby was trainer-watching. He would sit around in the foliage all day and watch the trainers and their Pokemon go by, fascinated by them.
He had never actually battled before, but one of his friends had...and the battle had been a real doozy. The poor Wurmple's friend--a Caterpie--had been beaten very badly by the trainer's powerful Pokemon. Wurmple, however, preferred just to watch in silence.
Or, mostly silence; as he moved along and followed the pair, he tripped and fell, causing a loud rustling sound in the bushes nearby. is watching you. or was, because he just fell over and made a loud noise.

Tic, on the other time, had been silent the whole time. He wasn't really sure what to think. Was he supposed to suddenly become friends with a stranger? How could he be friends with someone that owned him? It was odd.
A sudden rustle in the bushes stopped Aikosa from walking, Tic bumping into her back as she did so. She looked over in the direction, trying to see through. "What do you think is in there?"
Tic would have shrugged if he could have. <I don't know. Probably a Pokemon.>
Aikosa gasped excitedly. Another Pokemon! She would be able to see what another one looked like. She made her way over to the bush, curious about what she would find, as Tic followed behind her. Aikosa looked over top of the bushes and pulled apart the branches.
A Wurmple.
Aikosa tilted her head to the side, her bushy creamy-white hair falling about her face. She had never seen one of these Pokemon before. "Hello there. What's your name?"
Tic hovered over her shoulder, looking down at the Wurmple as well. He was starting to wonder if Aikosa was going to tell him to fight it or if she took a gentler approach. So far it seemed to be the latter.

"Oh, wait! I just want to be friends!" Aikosa called, though the Pokemon probably wouldn't listen to her. She frowned, looking over at Tic who was still hovering over her shoulder. "What should we do?"
<Typically, a trainer challenges a wild Pokemon to a battle.> Tic informed. His trainer didn't seem to be the most knowledgeable about these things.
"Oh! Right!" The little lightbulb turned on in Aikosa's head. "Well then, Tic, how about you use constrict? And to get him out of the bushes."
Tic moved in towards the bush where the Wurmple was attempting to flee. Tic's string-like legs wrapped tightly around the Pokemon's body. With a lot of effort on his part, Tic managed to get the Wurmple air-borne and set him on the opened ground.

Because of the drizzle going on around the small group, the Weather Ball had been powered up as well as turn into a Water-type move. Just as he managed for his attack to be successful, he felt a bit of confidence in himself. Maybe he was better at this than he had given himself credit for. As the rain continued to pour down onto the three beings, the Wurmple looked into the air. The rain was starting to let up again. That was a relief to him. Now the Weather Ball would weaken...that is, if it ever completely stopped raining. But unfortunatley, the rainy weather persisted, and the Weather Ball was just as strong as the last one. Letting out a small squeal of pain, the Wurmple was blasted hard into a nearby tree, falling at its trunk. He tried to shake off the attack...but three high-Power moves were hard for a smaller Pokémon like him to simply 'shake off'.
