Full Name: Gary “Nuzzy” Locke-Stewart
Gender: Male
Age: 16 years old. Born on April 1st.
Appearance: Gary looks like the spitting image of his grandfather when he was sixteen. He stands about 5 feet 10 inches, an inch smaller than the rest of his brothers, and weighs around 160 pounds. His skin is tan but not because of natural genetics. Like his grandfather, he has thick black hair which he keeps at a reasonable length. Gary likes to keep his face clear of any facial hair though he has been known to sport a small beard and moustache when his schedule is particularly busy, normally around holidays or when he has to help his father with his job. His overall appearance is rather clean cut giving him a professional look. Gary usually wears a clean shirt or sweater during the colder months, coupled with a pair of slacks or presentable jeans.
Background: Gary grew up in a crowded household with two older brothers, an older sister, and a younger brother and sister. His parents, especially his mother, were over worked most of the time leaving little time between their jobs and sleep to spend time with their children. His mother was a nurse at the local PokeCenter and usually worked long hours while working as a house cleaner on the weekends for elderly folks or people who lost the ability to care for their selves. His father was on call at a Pokémon Lab in the neighboring city. Though he loved spending time with his many children, he never missed a chance to earn more money to provide for his family.
The children were usually left to do the chores around the house such as cleaning and cooking though they also had to care for their parents’ Pokémon. However, inexperienced children left to take care of Pokémon without any supervision above their nine year old brother proved devastating. One day his youngest sister, Maribel, was in charge of feeding the Pokémon. It was made clear that they were not to play with them outside of the yard though she didn’t listen. It was a common occurrence with her but no one ever thought it would end up like it did. That very day, little Maribel perished in a nearby lake with the only witness around being a young Psyduck.
Gary and his family were devastated. His parents blamed themselves for letting such a young child take care of a pokemon, especially when said child couldn’t even swim. For the next few years their family mourned for their lost family member, though tried to keep everything together. Gary blamed himself, of course, claiming he should have been out there with her.
Around the time his older siblings went off to live their own lives, Gary was just getting into Pokémon training. He found it intriguing and exciting, instantly becoming hooked when he first came across a new trainer getting their starter from the Lab his father worked at. Before then, he had no idea what it was but soon caught on to the basics after spending more time around the professor.
A few more years passed until he decided to actually pick up training. During those years, he brushed up on his basic Pokémon knowledge such as how to battle and take proper care of a Pokémon which was something he already had a little experience in. Several months after he turned sixteen, Gary set out to explore Cheyenne hoping of being the very best there ever was.
Personality: Gary is a cheerful person, always finding ways to lighten up someone’s day, but there’s a tinge of sadness to him. He finds it hard not to be reminded daily of his little sister and tries his best to hide his guilt. Like his guilt, Gary also hides a lot of his negative emotions behind a smile. Because of this false sense of happiness, many people find it hard to connect with him until he decides to share certain feelings with them which may take several years to happen. However, this difficulty to create strong bonds with people, excluding family members, does not pertain to Pokémon. In fact Gary finds it easier to trust Pokémon and sees them as the next best thing to family. He disagrees with hoarding Pokémon like many trainers do. Instead he aims to create a much stronger friendship by spending more time with each of his Pokémon and limiting how any he can catch.
Info: I did it for thelulz self satisfaction.
