Full Name: Kenta Himura
Gender: Male
Age: Twenty Years Old/July 4
Appearance: Kenta was not blessed enough to look like his mother’s side of the family, no, instead he said he was cursed with his father’s look, however, he is not bad looking at all, actually very good looking. Lets start from the top and work out way down. He has long silver hair, which touched just below his shoulder, which he normally leaves down, unless it is a really hot day and then he will pull it back into a very messy pony-tail. His eyes are a very light blue, nearly gray, as if he is blind… Funny thing is… He is blind, very blind and can’t see anything, but he is very smart and can hear like a hawk and feel things in the air, like a animal. It was always said that blind people had better hearing and feeling, well it goes right for Kenta.
His upper body is firm and solid with muscle made only gained by working out everyday. He has a tattoo on his shoulder that is of barbwire, which goes all the way around. He knows that he can not see it, but he wanted something that would kind of be him. He knew the tattoo of a Pokémon would not be him, but maybe barbwire would be him. He normally wears black clothing, whenever he goes anywhere to buy clothing, he always make sure the clothing he gets is black by asking three people to tell him what color it is. If he gets different answers, then he does not get it, but if he gets three right answers he gets it. He always ends up with black clothing.
His lower body is perfectly balanced, he never has fallen down since he was a kid, but that because he had to learn to be strong. He is very balanced and always founded into the ground. He does not like having his feet of the ground and he tries to be sure he knows where he is stepping. He wears boots, which had no grip, except on the slight hill. This always him to figure out what form of ground he is stepping on just by scrapping it along when he stops. He uses his feet to tell him a lot of things from the ground, even how close people are to him. He has a hard time telling that on normal ground, but on wood or inside a house, he is pretty good at feeling the vibrations.
He has a backpack he carries with him, which allows him to keep a change of clothes and a hoodie that he wears when he gets cold. He has also a blanket he sleeps on, which fits into the bag pretty well. He also has a cane, which is a long piece of wood that has been carved into, making it look like barbwire is imbedded into the wood. He also has a pair of sunglasses he wears to protect his eyes from objects, making some people look at him at night funny since he wears them all the time.
Background: Born to Yua & Kaveh Himura, Kenta Himura was expected to be a normal child, born healthy to two healthy people, but what was not expect was his eyes. Nearly completely light gray eyes, one look at him told the doctors he was blind, but they were sure that it was just the color of his eyes. When they started running the test on the young boy with lights and trying to be sure, everything was proven to them… The boy was blind and as they went to tell the parents, the father was angry and blamed Kenta’s mother. ”It is your blood line! It is your fault! I hate you and that defect of a Boy!” With that, he left cursing the boy with nothing more then his looks and words. Kenta’s mother however blamed no one, it was a defect that was in neither of the family lines and she loved the boy. She promised him that she would protect him and raise him perfectly.
As a child, he had to learn things differently, but he progressed well. He learned at a young age that he had to listen better and his mother said he learned to talk before he learned to walk and quicker then children she had seen before. He learned to feel around to find his way and listen and smell his mother, since she wore perfume that he seemed to know by heart. As he grew older, he could walk right to where she was, some say he saw with his nose, but each year he grew older he would tell people that he felt things with his feet inside the house.
His mother was the only one who he lived with, but his grandparents lived right next door. He knew the way to his grandparents house by heart, but as he grew, he complained that he hated shoes, much to his mother dismay. He could not feel what form of ground he was walking on and he always ended up barefoot outside, walking on the dirt, rocks, sand, and grass to feel where he was. He walked everywhere he could to learn what was what and soon his mother took him to a city, where she had heard a blind man lived. She had the man talk to Kenta about things while she tried to find the right pair of shoes for the boy, but she finally broke down and asked the blind man. ”Sir, what form of shoes is best for my son.” The blind man touched his own shoes, a pair of boot with a slight heel on them. He explained that it was a thin sole and it allowed him to feel the ground below and know what he was walking on. Kenta was unsure, but as he started walking he agreed.
He started middle school after he got the boots and he was able to walk and know what he was walking on. People enjoyed picking on him, hoping that they would get him to try and fight, but he just chuckled at them and continued on his way. About two weeks into school, he got a pair of black sunglasses and a wood stick to allow him to walk around the school without walking into anybody. Many of the students tried to get him for hitting them with his stick, but he never actually hit anyone with the stick and showed the teachers that his stick would break to easily if he did and he needed this stick to make sure he was not going to fall. After a few months in school he was able to walk without it, since he had learned the school and figured out where all the steps were. He still took it with him so he could judge distance and stairs since he sometimes needed to make sure he was still going up or make sure he was not going to fall down.
He started high school and it was the same. He was picked on for a few years and forced to have to learn a new school… It was also his ninth grade year that his mother told him about his father. He was upset and distraught and walked out of his home in pure anger. He just kept walking, he did not now what he was going, but he had to clear his head. He felt the tears running down his cheeks and he just didn’t care. He knew he was on a road, he just did not know where. His father had abandoned him because he was blind! He was mad and upset and he just wanted to go crazy, but not tonight, he was going to be met by someone he could not forget…
Sarah Siskin was a beautiful lady, forgiving and caring. She stopped along side him that night as he walked down the road and he had to stop to figure out what it was. She got out to help him when she noticed who it was from school. He was the only person he had ever showed his emotion too and also his first girl friend, his first love and she helped him so much. However, as their relationship got deeper, her father hated it. He watched how as she finished school, they were still together, but he was not going to allow his daughter to marry a blind man. He forced her to go to a college far away quickly and she did not have time to tell Kenta in time. He thought she hated him and he felt himself once again abandoned. He began to bottle up his emotion and he hated again. His mother worried about him and gave him the idea to travel. ”I will help you get to Cheyenne, so you can become a trainer and become more and show others you can be more.” He agreed with her. She helped him pack that night and gave him a good dinner.
He began his journey to Cheyenne a week later, jumped on a ship and headed to Cheyenne. People once again made fun of him because of his blindness, but he did not care. He wanted to do this and he would not let them get him down.
Personality: Kenta is a very strong individual, always being independent and not allowing himself to get down in the dumps about anything. He is a loyal to his family, what family he has left and his friends, the ones that he has. He is a very determined individual and would never take no for a answer, or would never give up. When others told him he couldn’t, he took it as a challenge and forced himself to do better then ever, better then anyone. His mother always tried to protect him, would not allow him outside, but when he grew older, he went outside, forced himself to do things such as working out and also forced himself to learn trails so he could go running. He is not one to give up and he will never give up at anything. Some call him stupid for doing all of this, but he does it anyway.
Kenta has no reason to get mad at others, since he can not see, there is no point to fight, so he keep his emotions hidden, even though he does get mad, he will not allow someone the pleasure of seeing them. He sees no reason but to smile and carry on, for there is so much more he could be mad at, like being made blind. When he is alone or with his pokemon, he is open, much more then he is with people. He talks more, even though sometimes he is talking to himself, he still talks, allowing his emotion to come out during his time of thought and reflection. His Pokémon know the real Kenta, though he does not allow many others to see the side of emotion he gives, he allows them to see it and he does not care if they see it, because they are his family.
When he is battling, he goes all out, not allowing anything to get in the way of him losing, though if he loses he will continue to try again and again, until he wins. He battles with cold fury some would say, you can see the determination on his face and how much he does not care about the other person, but his voice does not show it, he is calm completely and since he can not see, he does not care, as long as his Pokémon wins. He does care about his Pokémon and he will do anything to make them happy. He loves his pokemon, but he hates his father…
Yes, I weird subject to get off on, but he does. His father abandoned him at birth, when he found out his son was blind and could not take the idea of his son being blind. He blamed the defect on Kenta’s mother and he left them both the day of his birth. Kenta had heard the story from birth and hated his father from the time he found out. He promised himself that if he ever had a family he would not do such a thing, he would care for his son or daughter and do everything in his power to give them a good life.
Info: Senses – because of his blindness, Kenta has very good hearing, smell, feeling, and even taste. Kenta can hear a whisper on the otherside of a large room, he can smell anything from honestly a mile away, he can feel the vibrations in buildings, and can taste things in the air.
