Scarlett's built much like her younger sister; though not mentioned in Sierra's bio, she and her tended to explore at night together before the latter had the life-altering accident. After that, Scarlett's body never really gained weight besides on her maturing breasts and hips. Her legs are long and slender, a few scars from her childhood still visible around the knees and calves. Her arms are normal length, slightly toned. Her fingers are slender - it runs in the family - and her nails are medium length, though she often trims them.
Like Sierra, her hair is long, black and reaches down to the bottom of her shoulder blades, wispy at the ends. Her face is rounded with a bit of a pointed chin. Having a bit of an vision impediment in her left eye, she'd mimicked Sierra's contact by choosing one, of her favorite color, and putting it on the opposite eye. To this day, although she and her sister have.. grown apart, she wears it as a memoir. These eyes are framed by two thin eyebrows. Her lips, almost always a hint of a frown, are a tad thinner than normal, tinted dark pink.
Her outfits are consistent: usually she can be seen wearing short shorts, always medium blue or darker. Her tanktops, usually a solid color or patterned, are one-shouldered. Both of her arms are adorned with faux black fur skull bracelets, used to keep them warm. Her shoes, a bit more worn every day, are low-top grey converse with black laces. Finally, her Absol hat, which she almost always wears, is worn in memory of Sierra as well. She'd been given this gift the same year that Sierra recieved her pikachu hat, and though they were already apart by then she still adored it. Absol is one of her favorite pokemon, evidently.
Background !
Scarlett comes from the same family as Sierra. As a child, she was exuberant, bright and charming, a mirror of the girl Sierra is now. She was only two years old when Sierra was born, but the sight of a girl, practically a mirror of her own self in appearance, filled her with love. Scarlett babied Sierra in her first years, and they soon became inseparable. Sierra hardly showed affection to anyone other than her older sister.
They often walked together at night, Scarlett to marvel at the sights and Sierra just to feel like she wasn't alone in the world. In the day, Scarlett had other friends to mind, causing Sierra to slowly deteriorate into a solemn, shy girl in the presence of safety-controlling parents. It was inevitable that Sierra eventually snapped and ran in the path of a school bus, causing the life-swapping accident.
Scarlett was a frequent visitor of Sierra's, longing for her sister's dark humor and sad, yet adorable face. She visited every day, religiously, until finally Sierra, regardless of doctor's worried gossip that she would stay in a permanent coma, opened her bicolored eyes once more. Scarlett's heart lurched when she discovered that Sierra had forgotten her and all of the years they'd spent together, and her new personality was too odd for Scarlett to handle. She kept her distance for a long while.
Inevitably, the separation became too much for her to bear. Scarlett came up to Sierra and asked her if she wanted to play something together, but Sierra declined, saying "she had a playdate with her new friends." Scarlett went cold, then realized that this was what she had done to Sierra before. She'd ditched her for her own friends, mindless of her little sister's lonesomeness.
It was as if Sierra and Scarlett switched personalities. She became depressed and angry, which scared her own friends off. Years passed, and she never bonded with her sister the same way again. In fact, they ceased speaking except for when it was necessary. However, she never got rid of her contact and did not decline the Absol hat when it was given to her. It reminded her of Sierra, and wearing it seemed to take a bit of weight off of her heart.
She set off on a journey to become a trainer in a different region, but there the Pokémon were different and alien to her; a near fatal accident caused her to have to come back to her parents' region in the same year. When she healed up, she studied in school again; without Sierra or many friends to goof off with, her grades thrived.
It was then that she deemed herself ready to once again take a journey, this time to a more familiar region - Cheyenne. This is where her story begins.
Personality !
Scarlett used to be a modern Sierra in her younger days. Bright, humorous, and fun to be around, her parents didn't even set restrictions on where she went or how long she stayed up. Now that her friends and, unwittingly, Sierra, had ditched her, she'd encased her heart in a cold shell. Although she does react to things, it's hard to get her emotions to show through - besides cruelty and dark humor.[/blockquote]
Although she doesn't show it, Scarlett is extremely sensitive. Even the smallest of insults will burn a hole into her, and if you're not careful with your tongue she'll get extremely pissed; though it's possible she won't show it. It's hard for her to let go of a grudge.
Her humor also stands out. Immature at heart, she may laugh at puns and knock knock jokes, usually just because of how much of a failure they are. More often seen is her dark humor; she takes pleasure in causing trouble and being in control, and she has no problem stomping on those below her. However, she tries not to betray those who trust in her. She never promises anything, either, valuing freedom.
Extremely cynical, she isn't easy to take advantage of. She's often suspicious of those she doesn't know, and sometimes even moreso around those she does know. As such, she prefers to do things alone. It's hard to gain her trust.
