Full Name: Commander Joseph Mawely
Gender: Male
Age: 42, born on January 31st
Appearance: Despite being out of the army, Mawely still wears his uniform and badges, which signal he’s a Commander. It’s green camouflage, which is cream on the underside. He tends to keep his sleeves rolled up, and on his arms are clear scars that are evident of sword fights from the war. He has a big X shaped scar over his chest, which can be seen as he doesn’t button up his shirt. He keeps his trouser legs rolled up to his knees and has a belt that used to hold grenades, but now holds his Pokéballs instead. His muscles are well toned and he’s about 6’4 and weighs 200 lbs – a healthy weight for his size. He is black and of African descent, and is very aggressive when it comes to topics about racism. Ponyta is also very aggressive when it comes to dealing with those who insult him because he is black.
Background: You’re walking through a city; the ivory stone walls are standing so high that you feel like it’s almost connecting the earth to the heavens. The wind blows gently and you can hear nothing but your own heart beating slowly in your chest. The welcoming gazes of the people around you make your eyes water with happiness. In your hands, you hold the reigns of a Ponyta, who had been with you all of your life; and you love her so much that it would tear your life apart to part with her. The fire of love burns brightly on her mane as you climb onto her back gently, and she carries you through the streets, where it seems like there is nothing that you can not do. The Taillow and Ekans in the nearby forest cry out their songs, which are peaceful in tone, almost like they are friends and not enemies by nature.
You walk toward your friend’s house; your best friend’s house, who you’ve known for your entire life. It seems as though he’s not in, but when you peer through the window, he leaps off of his leather couch and rushes to the door. You offer to go riding with him, and he quickly grabs the reigns to his Ponyta – your Ponyta’s best friend. You canter by his side, laughing warmly as he tells you your favourite joke, and you gently stroke Ponyta’s neck as she carries you, but she doesn’t mind. She enjoys the interaction, because you’ve been friends for years; almost since you were children. Taking your favourite path into the forest, you hear the Taillow stop singing, and you wonder why, only to look to the moonlit sky and have your breath taken away from you.
Cherry blossoms drift through the sky by the lake you would take Ponyta as a foal; bright pink against navy, which is only made more indescribable by the soft mist that caresses you like a dream. The moon is full, and Ponyta’s body stands out like a candle. You climb off of her and she begins to run around with her friend, playing chase and having a great time, and you sit down on the incline and just let your mind wander. Sharp blades of grass tickle your arms and make you chuckle, and you lift your head to see what Ponyta is doing now; she is nuzzling into her friend’s mane, smiling happily and just talking quietly, and though you can’t hear, you know what they’re saying. They’re talking about how lovely the night is, and how they will always remember it and each other in their hearts. You and your friend vow the same thing, and that is when he tells you that he is going on a journey.
But you’re not sad; in fact, you knew this was coming. A war is on the horizon; one that must be fought; and you understand that everybody will be called up to the battle. Your friend explains with great sadness that his father is dying, and that he wants to be by his side. You hold your friend and reassure them, and then you smile and glance back at the Ponyta, who were lying with their legs folded under them, head resting on each other’s shoulders, their hazel eyes watching the beauty that their final night had given them. You both vow that you’ll remember the night like it was your last, because in a sense you both feel dead that you’re parting after so long.
A shadow flies over you; the voice of the forest, Celebi could it be? You’d always heard tales about the Forest’s Protector as a child. It seems that Celebi wants to watch the display of blossoms as they streak across the sky. It lands, sits down in between you two, because it knows you; you’d met it before, and it considered you a friend. It cries out with joy and you both laugh deep down; and Celebi reaches up to hug you. You accept the embrace and let Celebi lie there in your arms, and you think you almost see a few crimson rose petals mixed into the display.
Soon Celebi has fallen asleep, and you do too, but when you wake, you find your friend is no longer beside you. The patch of grass that he was on is cold, and there are hoof prints leading away, back down the trail. At first you feel sad that he did not even say goodbye, but you realise that it would have been hard for him to say that; instead, you feel a bit of sympathy, and wait until dawn comes. You head back to the city and there are soldiers gathering around, recruiting people for the war. You look at Ponyta; perhaps you two can escape before you are seen, but the look in Ponyta’s eyes tells you that she does not want to leave. She wants to stay and fight for her home. You are scared, and nobody can blame you, but deep down you feel the same way, and you join.
Years later, Ponyta has grown into a beautiful, strong mare. You are a Commander now, and you have led so many people into battle that it has hardened you more than you ever thought. You have changed, and now that the war is ending, you wonder if your family will even recognise you anymore. Instead of visiting them, you look toward Ponyta and smile, and when you are granted leave to go on a journey. You put the reins on Ponyta and mount her back, and she carries you off toward Cheyenne, where you will begin your journey as a Pokémon Trainer...
Personality: Mawely is pretty much the "father to all who know him", as he shows care and love to everybody. Mawely is well-respected and highly honourable, and always treats those around him with respect, even those who are weaker or not as highly ranked as he is. As a result, he can be easily approached by other members of any species who seek favours or advice from the male. Due to his high moral code, Mawely will never let any harm come to either his underlings or those who attempt to protect them.
He refuses to give up when he believes something is wrong and will break a rule to do what is right. He is also quite perceptive and has the ability to correctly judge people's character and knows when they are lonely. Even so, Mawely doesn’t take shit from anyone, and his voice is said to be worse than thunder when he shouts.
A lot who knew Mawely would say that he’s a father to them, but those who didn’t like the attention he gives to everybody would say that he’s a loud nuisance and a strict disciplinarian. Why? His training in the army demanded obedience, and though he’s been through a lot of rough patches in his life, he’s a real sweet hearted Gentleman. Not too many people remember the types of men who took their dates out for an evening that stayed in their hearts forever; the men who lay their coats over a puddle so she wouldn’t get wet, who would hold doors open and who plants a soft kiss on her hand as a respectful greeting. Whoever said “Chivalry is dead” is sorely in for a surprise; this man is the meaning of the word polite.
He loves a good song, and is quite talented and proud to play the acoustic guitar when he can, and this is often songs that reflect on love. If you’re curious as to how he gets around, he’s always riding or at least with his beloved Ponyta, Spirit, who is like a daughter to him in many ways. They’ve been friends for so many years, and when she needs a rest, he has a motorbike that he can ride on instead. He’s not your stereotypical biker though – even on the roads he’s a careful, considerate motorist who never speeds or ‘road rages’.
Basically he’s the man that every woman wants.
Info:
He has a prestarter - a Ponyta.
I changed my mind XD It's not called Kibbles. It's called Spirit.
