When the enjoyable Horsea was released, Moth and Adrian looked at it curiously. Paint a picture? Was it really going to preform for them? Moth excitedly waited as the smokescreen was released, and what came as a surprise was that she actually flew into it and began to dance around in the ink. Her body was starting to get a black stain, making her blend in with the ink.
Somehow, that camouflage made the Aurora Beam soar right by her. Adrian didn't get it, and Moth was too busy enjoying being in the Horsea's performance to really care. Bird was hit by that super powered Astonish though, which had a 50% difference in attack power. Not to mention the STAB, and it being super effective and all that...let's just say she was looking a bit tired after that little fright. <Ugh, good heavens. No more of that foolishness.> She shook her head in annoyance while Moth giggled.
"Start it off with Leer on both of them." Bird flew up higher so both foes would notice her, and with glowing eyes gave them a look of malice. Seriously, why would they be so rough on them? "Now go ahead with Poison Sting and Peck." That was the order, and they had to follow it. Bird dove beak first at the Frosslass, while Moth sprayed some poisonous stingers at the Horsea.

Da Vinci was smiling happily at the beautiful colors that he had created, vivid streaks of color against the black smokescreen. Eventually the Aurora, being mostly light, would fade away. But before that could happen the artist was interrupted in his admiration of his work. A blast of purple washed over him and over his mental canvas. All he could see now was purple. <A worth foe indeed!> He said in his little Horsea voice. He knew that he needed to wash this purple stain away, so instinctively he began firing a powerful jet of water from his nose, splashing it everywhere; including at Moth. In his own little world he hardly noticed the Natu leering at him. He was too busy cleaning up.
Dru saw the leer though; and felt the peck attack against her body. She moaned softly and deeply, clenching her body where Natu had pecked her. Raff's voice echoed in her head. "Go ahead and use Bide while your health is up Druscilla." She nodded and then calmly entered a relaxed position, making her body super still and her face calm, without any sort of expression.

A Frosslass using Bide? Well it would be silly to just attack it both turns, but she decided it would be safe to use a neutral attack for now. Bird wasn't harmed at all, and with the Frosslass's defenses lowered, she wasn't too keen to go straight away with an all out force on the biding Pokemon. The Lucky Chant was still in effect, preventing critical hits for the time being, but when it wore off she was sure that Horsea's ability would be nasty if it kicked in.
The playful Moth was sprinkled clean by the Water Gun, but it was painfully bitter and cold. She squeaked as she spun around, trying to get some warmth while moving around in the smokescreen. The canvas was being wiped away, and soon she lost her dark coloration and her color. <So...chilly.> She shivered, looking at the Horsea with a sad expression.
"Leer at both of them Bird. See what happens with a Night Shade on the Frosslass." She wanted to see how weak it would get, if anything. At least the defense drop would help out in the end. Bird nodded and flew up over in front of both of her foes, trying to get their attention with a mean looking leer. Then her eyes changed to a dark purple color, and two beams of light were shot out at the ice type.
"Bug Bite the Horsea, Moth." She then added, watching as Moth perked up at the command and she couldn't help but smile a bit. What enthusiasm. Moth's wings twitched before she dived down at the water type; jaws open and hungry for some action.

Druscilla clenched her fists tight as the Night Shade struck her body. Typically a ghost type move would be super effective against her, but Night Shade was unique in that it did damage without regard to type. She winced. With lowered defenses the attack wasn't at all pleasant. She told herself to hold on for just a little longer. Raff was behind her, urging her on with shouts of encouragement and words of affection. He had confidence in his Froslass. Da Vinci meanwhile was happily whinnying in excitement. Moth was fun. Even though he was gnawing on his body. The artist Horsea was definitely drawn to the Moth because of his pretty colors, as well as the fun the creature had been having in his "painting". While Bug Bite was being used, Horsea used a leer of his own; glaring both at Moth and over Moth's shoulder towards Natu who was attacking Dru. From his nose he blasted another stream of colors, the ice-type attack aimed for Moth. <Let me paint you pretty!> He said in a cheery, friendly voice.

There wasn't much going on in the Natu versus Frosslass battle, because one foe was biding its time while Bird was stuck in paralysis. The Natu tried to move and make an attack, but the electricity from earlier reappeared and bound her wings and legs together. She hissed from the pain, but there was nothing she could do about it.
The battle with Da Vinci and Moth was where it was at. Moth looked at the Horsea seriously after stopping her bite attack, wondering what she was going to try next. Paint her? Oh boy, let her just fly back a bit so she wouldn't get any in her eyes--- ICK! Cold! Cold!
The rainbow lights flashed as they went against her pretty green and red patterns, making them sparkle as she was hit with the bitter cold move. <W-w-w-w-hoaaaa. C-c-c-c-cold!> She chattered, looking a little pathetic now.
"String Shot around the Horsea, then use Gust." So they wanted to be pretty, did they? They could play that game too. Moth was high enough to just spray a loose string shot down at the Horsea, but instead of letting go of the string, her wings kicked up a little gust as well. It made the string start to go into a spiral, giving emphasis to the structure of the mini tornado sent at the Horsea.

Dru twitched, ready to stop this nonsense and get back to fighting! She exploded in a burst of power, rushing towards Bird to payback, double, all the damage that the Night Shade had caused on her (which really wasn't a large amount.) She raced towards the paralyzed bird like a bat out of hell, ditching all of her grace and mystique for pure power. Da Vinci glanced over when Dru exploded out of her Bide attack and went after the Natu. "Da Vinci! Pay Attention!" Raff's warning came too late and the Horsea was tangled up in the String Shot, he found it hard to move and entirely impossible to avoid the gust attack from Moth. He was whirled around and spun silly. Horsea snorted loudly and shook his head. Not fun. "Smokescreen and Bubble." Raff commanded. Da Vinci nodded and blew out a steam of jet black smoke from his nose, followed by bubbles. Some of the bubbles cleaned away the Smokescreen and created white spots, others absorbed some smoke and turned black themselves. An army of white and black bubbles raced towards Moth.

Adrian and Moth grinned at the sight-- their attacks hit the Horsea! That was a perfect combination right there, and they were still raring to go. With Moth still looking confident, Adrian switched her attention to Bird, who was still having trouble in the battle. The poor thing was paralyzed and about to get hit by a Bide, which was always debatable in power. The Night Shade didn't seem to phase the Frosslass too badly, so Bird was going to experience something 'not too badly' times two. The expression on the ghost type's face was even more horrifying than the Astonish, and Bird found herself attempting to flee.
<No!> She squawked in protest, getting absorbed into the light the ghost beauty could produce. She was knocked far away from the blow, nearly colliding into the wall if she hadn't opened up her wings in time. She was breathing heavily with that green chest moving up and down rapidly, but with a little time to regroup, she would be ok.
Now Moth seemed to be having a tricky time as well, especially as the Smokescreen seemed to fuse into some of the bubbles. Clear and black bubbles? How was she supposed to deal with that? She couldn't even dodge them because it was so massive, and they painfully popped against her wings. She stuttered in mid-air, not liking this mix of cold and wet. <T-T-This definitely isn't as fun as bubble wrap.>
"Get another leer on them, Bird." Adrian advised, knowing it was the best thing right now for double battles. Bird executed another leer, the same old drill as before. But this time she wanted to be less predictable to Raff, and went with something different. "Poison Sting and Night Shade on the Horsea." Oh, a double team. How fun. Moth flew boldly on top of the Horsea and aimed her spray of poisonous stingers directly up in the air. Then she flew away before they could hit her, leaving a rainfall of poison sting for the water type. The Natu's reflexes were slower, but the Night Shade was also sent at the water type.

The Froslass finished her bide attack and smiled happily. That was some fun! She giggled and turned around in time to see Bird leering at her and Da Vinci, and then both poke'mon go after her Horsea partner. She and Raff both gasped, Dru raced in immediately to help out. She opened up her jaws wide, aiming to bite down on Bird. <Hey!> She shouted out while she raced over to attack Bird.
Da Vinci found multiple attacks closing in on him. All purple themed strangely enough. But the Poison stings were the worst by far, leaving him poisoned and achy all over. The Night Shade sucked too. Raff called out to his Horsea, who he could see was beginning to weaken. "Attack Natu with Aurora Beam!" He'd need to gang up on one of her poke'mon too, it seemed like the best strategy right now. Of course that left Moth free to cause havoc....

"Bird Please! Move out of the way! Don't take this attack! Don't get hit! Don't! Please don't!" Adrian began to exclaim as she knew instantly that this was not the type of attack she wanted her Pokémon to get hit by... Especially because it was super effective. The problem was, the Natu was paralyzed and simply could not stop herself or move quick enough. She was struck by the attack and simply fell to the floor, unable to move due to the paralysis, and feeling very cold from the attack. "Damnit!" She said, very nervous now as the battle was winding to it's conclusion. On the floor, it just became a bit too easy as the leer hit her and suddenly she was about to get bit by the Froslass. It must have been a spur of the moment, or just good timing as Bird quickly teleported away from the action but was unable to stabilize herself and fell flat on the floor again. Ouch! Adrian looked on and saw that Moth was completely safe as the pair decided to team up on her other Pokémon. Bad decision! They'd pay for that! "String Shot on the Froslass and Bug Bite on the Horsea." She said. It might have been a better strategy to team up on one specific pokemon like she did before, and like Raff just did but Adrian chose not to. She had more class then that this time around. She wouldn't stoop to Raff's level and team up on the weaker foe, she'd split it up... { Bird } (Defense -2) (Weakening) - - Paralyzed - - Level 13, Female Synchronize|Early Bird Peck|Leer|Night Shade|Teleport|Lucky Chant Personality: Gentle with her allies, but tends to distance herself from strangers. Dru went right through where Bird previously was and continued flying off in some other direction. It was rather disorienting and she stopped just short of crashing into a wall. With a low growl she turned around and ran back towards Da Vinci and the two gym poke'mon. Half way she was tangled up with Moth's string shot and she stumbled down to the ground, trapped for a moment in sticky web. Raff felt bad for Da Vinci. The Shiny Horsea was taking a serious beating, between the poison and then another bug bite attack. He was clearly beginning to weaken, he was panting and hardly able to keep himself upright. Weakly he lifted his head leering at both of his foes and then he fired a jet of water from his nozzle-nose towards Bird, mostly aiming to knock the bird away from him and perhaps separate up the battle again. Of course doing some damage was also his intentions. Dru had finally untangled herself from the String Shot and in a panic whipped up a Powder Snow attack, firing from her left hand a chilling, snow-filled wind, pointing it towards Moth.

[OOC: Bird was never on Horsea lol. That was worm.] Bird was suddenly hit by a water gun attack when she wasn't even messing with the Horsea and flew back even further which just angered and disappointed her. She was simply trying to recover in peace while Moth took some of the hits but the trainer wouldn't let her do that. This angered her a bit but she was too stubborn or uncomfortable to show her frustration to the strangers. She didn't like talking to strangers and wouldn't do it here either. Moth though could tell she was upset and this pokemon wasn't much happier as the Powder Snow came at her and made her shiver a bit. But she was a bit more outgoing and quickly tried to calm Bird down but also get her a bit angry also at the same time... It was contradictory but it was also their relationship. >Come on Bird! It's part of the fight. Suck it up!< She said which made Bird appreciate the pep talk as she knew what she had to do. Bird instantly flew at the Horsea once more with her beak out to peck the pokemon while Moth used a gust attack on Dru. Adrian looked on, she was impressed with this trainer's strategy and determination, and she was a bit worried that the battle was completely going to Raff's way. But at least she had a fight of her life... ::Natu:: { Bird } (Defense -2) (Weakening) - - Paralyzed - - Level 13, Female Synchronize|Early Bird Peck|Leer|Night Shade|Teleport|Lucky Chant Personality: Gentle with her allies, but tends to distance herself from strangers. Raff looked incredibly intense. He needed to get Bird to faint. Da Vinci would only take so many more hits, and he wasn't sure that Dru could take on both of the poke'mon on her own. He was scared he might lose this battle. Even the peck attack, a weak attack in its own right, seemed to cause great pain to the shiny Horsea. "Aurora Beam one more time Da Vinci..." Raff asked his poke'mon. Da Vinci was no longer excited by this battle. He wanted to rest. Half-heartedly he launched a colorful beam from his nose towards Bird, pumping as much energy as he could spare into it. Dru was feeling ten times better than Da Vinci. She was still raring for action. Gust spun her around in circles, her arms stretched out to either side to keep herself steady while she spun around and around. The ghost laughed, slowing herself down a bit once the gust stopped coming at her. She flew up and towards Moth, grinning at Moth but leering with her eyes before violently trying to chomp down on him with her big mouth.

The blows were beginning to add up greatly and when the last strike was made at Bird. She quickly fluttered her wings back and forth before yelling out one word prior to fainting. It was basically the first time she had spoken in a very long time as she let out a quick sound before she fell to the ground and stopped twitching. >Oh no!< She said before it was just all black. Adrian quickly returned her pokemon and found herself on a two vs one now. And the leer and bite combination did not help Moth either who seemed to be getting toward her end also. But she had a bit more health and thus was able to last a bit longer. Within minutes she quickly launched herself at the Horsea to try to defeat that pokemon and make it a fair battle, one pokemon against one. It was getting to the climax now... The shiny Horsea sighed when he saw Bird had fainted. Da Vinci had loved this fight. He wished he didn't have to leave it so soon. The poison was going to take him out this turn, regardless of Moth's bug bite attack. He fell to the ground, his vision clouded first by Moth and then by blackness as he fainted. Raff was quick to recall Da Vinci to his poke'ball. "Alright Dru, it's up to you now. Double Team." She whirled around and raced foreword, zig-zagging along so that she appeared in multiple different places at the same time, making it hard for her progress to be tracked. And then at one unpredictable point the real Dru leapt out from behind Moth, trying to use her astonish attack to scream in her face and freak her out, and do damage obviously.

>Ahhh!!!!< Moth said after she was scared out of her mind by the Astonish, but luckily it wasn't enough to flinch her. Just gave her a bit of a heart pumping and a heart race. And of course it hurt also but it was okay, she was ready to end this battle soon and with her favorite move. She gave one last strike, giving everything she could do it as she hoped that it would end the battle for good and give her the victory. Adrian watched on, it was getting too intense for this trainer and her blood was boiling to an all time great. This was the type of gym battle she had hoped for and she got exactly what she wanted which made her so happy. In an instant she looked on and smiled at Raff. Dru was not going to faint from the gust attack. Since she had come out she had been spared in multiple turns from many damaging attacks, and as a result she was feeling mighty fine right now. The gust just tipped her into the zone of being tired and starting to feel the burn. She let the wind lift her up into the air and tumble her around like some gymnast. It kinda fun, she laughed aloud and found it to be an excellent way to dull the pain. "Use a bite attack! Take advantage of her lowered defenses!" Once the gust subsided she was falling back towards the ground. Her jaws opened up, her large hands reaching out to try and grab Moth and pull him towards her mouth while she used a bite attack. Her eyes were glowing with a wide range of emotions, as were Raff's. Raff was still worried he was going to lose this battle, he was having less fun that Dru. But he looked proud of the Froslass, his starter poke'mon.

The bite attack came and struck Moth who quickly fell on the floor and also stopped flapping her wings. Upon that, Adrian returned her last pokemon and slowly walked up to Raff as if she was about to present him with his victory spoils. The thing was, she did not present him with his victory spoils at all. At least not yet. She took out a piece of paper and wrote her number on it before placing it in Raff's hands. After, she leaned over and attempted to kiss Raff in the cheeks. "Great battle, but can you please stay a little longer?" She asked. She had never been this excited for a loss before, but this was truly an incredible battle, the best she had ever experienced. "You are really cute. I hope you'll call me." She said, standing in front of Raff hoping that he'd return some interest to her also. Something about the trainer really appealed to her now. Maybe it was because she had lost, or maybe it was the way his hair looked... Or the way he listened when he won. She didn't know but she did have a secret crush on him now. ::Dustox:: { Moth } ( Accuracy -1, Defense -3) (Fainted) Level 13, Female Shield Dust Tackle|String Shot|Poison Sting|Harden|Bug Bite|Gust Personality: Moth is a funny one, because she likes to occasionally use a Gust attack on everything as soon as she is sent out. Druscilla landed gracefully on the ground, swooping through the air like a small bird before landing and standing upright next to Raff. She immediately hugged her trainer's leg and Raff hugged the Froslass back. "You're beautiful Dru!" He held out her poke'ball if she wanted to go in and rest, but she shook her head 'no'. <I'd rather hang out for awhile. I'm not too tired.> Raff shrugged and saw no harm in that.
He looked up as Adrian came over and he held out his hand, expecting that she was going to give him her gym's badge and maybe a nice handshake. He really wasn't prepared to get her phone number... or the kiss on the cheek. He blushed a bit, it was obvious on his pale skin. Oh god, play nice Raff... play along... but don't lead her on? WTF do I do? He thought to himself. He ended up just standing their stupidly, in his silence, with an awkward grin on his face. "Uh... thanks? I'm flattered." He managed to say, and it sounded really good inside of his head.

Gym Leader Adrian: "Future Girlfriend of Raff?" Adrian quickly smiled as she saw the boy light up with an awkward grin in his face. That was a good sign, he wasn't disgusted by her and instead probably was just as interested in her as she was in him... Or at least she thought or hoped. She usually had more confidence then this around boys but something about Raff appealed to her a lot. It might have been the tips of his hair, or the way he battled, or his sincerity. Something about him really appealed to her. "So about a date? I'm free now." She said, getting as close to him as possible. She hoped he could smell her perfume, which she wore everyday hoping for one occasion where she'd be able to share it with someone she really liked. And this was the perfect day for it. She tried to get close to Raff and brush up against him to show that she was very interested... Come on... =)

"Adrian..." He said with a sigh. Dru the Froslass floated up a little bit, flinging her arms around Raff's neck and resting her head on his shoulder. "... you need to stay here and run the Gym. I'm going to continue on to the next city. And I don't do long distance things... I can't. It's me. Not you." He tried to let her down lightly. And for some reason he figured it would be nicer to say he was the one with problems than to just outright say he wasn't interested in her for anything other than her gym badge. Which sounded terrible. Plus he had eyes for someone else at the moment. He didn't know the female gender well enough to know if it would be a good idea to tell her that or not. It might make things worse, Adrian might try harder if she knew just how hard she'd have to work to win Raff. "Next time I come back here... I'll call? Maybe I can team up with you and we'll take on a challenger together? I'm always willing to buy a friend some lunch too." It seemed, to him, a good idea to try and keep Adrian as a friend and maybe... a back up? Why were so many terrible thoughts and ideas entering his head right now?
