Well I decided to keep y'all updated on my life in Rome... It's not gonna be regularly but I'll try to do as much as I can.
Just a few things. Well it's been 2 weeks since I've been here, going in on the third right now and it has been absolutely fantastic.
But some things that I wanted to get off my chest beforehand.
1. The drivers here are TERRIBLE! So many do not look before they turn. And many are not aware of their surrounding... It seems that you are always in danger whenever you take the streets. Funniest thing is also, they never slow down for you...
2. The food is amazing here but I have been getting too carbed filled. And I also found a passion for bulsamic vinegar like no other... Like seriously it's an addiction. I might die from an ulcer because I eat it so often.
3. Favorite site so far? The Pantheon. The roof with the light shining through is simply gorgeous! It's so incredibly beautiful that I get shivers just being in the room... The Vatican Temple is a close second, the Cistine Chapel in it is just to die for... The drawings look like it's coming at you.
4. One thing you need to know architecturally about Rome is... TUFA. If you know the building material tufa you are in good shape. It is basically all over Rome. It is reddish-green, not that strong, but very abundant and used in many structures while covered with plaster or something else.
5. Rome has a lot of areas raised above the ground by at least 5m because it had huge flooding problems back then...
6. DOG SHIT! It's everywhere!
7. Damio Chinque = Give me Five! (High Five) TROLOLO
8. Love all my professors. They are so cool!
9. Awesome that I can enter bars, but it is super expensive. If you want wine, get a bottle from a wine shop or super market, it's so much worth it. 5 euros = Good wine
10. One of my huge issues (fears) was that food would be expensive. But I haven't really experienced that yet.
11. Victory Temples are all over Rome because of Triumphs and competition to be more impressive than your competitor.
12. Rome must be very dangerous because I always see at least 3 groups of soldiers out in many sites. Yes, they have different soldier groups lol. Not just one police force
