Full Name: Sōjun Kuchiki
Gender: Male
Age: 09-03-85
Appearance: Sōjun has blind blue eyes and thin ebony eyebrows. He has long black hair and stands at a height of 177cm (5’11½) and weighs 62kg (136 lbs). He tends to wear beautiful indigo robes and kimono and always dresses in a beautiful and casual manner. The indigo robes usually have delicate floral patterns on it or golden swirls around the edges. When he’s at a formal occasion, he will switch to black robes with a white tie on them. With either outfit he will wear white socks and sandals.
Background:
Sōjun Kuchiki was born at the end of winter to his parents in the Ile de Glace. Being completely blind was what he thought everyone was as he grew up, and he didn’t understand why his father wouldn’t let him play with the other kids. Of course, he found out one day, when the bullying started, and he was instantly unnerved and afraid. He never told his parents because he feared that they’d get him if he did.
Of course, when he became a teenager, he let it slip that he wasn’t happy at school, and his parents went and sorted it out by talking to the principle. Sōjun expected to be beaten, but in fact the opposite happened; the bullies apologised to him, obviously having been verbally degraded by their parents, and they soon became his friends. They helped him to get around, helped him to gain more confidence, until they all graduated and were ready to set off as Trainers. By this time, Sōjun was a playful yet mature person who they loved to joke about with.
They all wanted to leave as a convoy but Sōjun said that he wanted to wait a little longer and stay with his parents for a bit before he headed out. Once the time had come, he flew to the lab by aeroplane and is currently travelling by bus to the lab.
Personality:
Although he is usually seen as a laid-back, jovial fellow, Sōjun also shows a deceptively cunning and serious side when the situation warrants it. He commonly uses idle conversation and outward concern as an act of distracting his opponents. Despite his care-free attitude, he always speaks politely, but is sometimes sarcastic. He tends to go over the top with whatever he becomes passionate about.
As a child, Sōjun's personality is the direct opposite of what he is today. During his earlier years as a child, he was viewed as a nervous, flustered, and quiet person. He ws even somewhat unsure of himself and lacks confidence in his ability to be a good leader, trainer or even a person who could get around. In addition, he was commonly shown to be confused with how to deal with his blindness. Despite being uncomfortable in himself, he started to become relatively at ease when introduced to Pokemon. He eventually hardened his resolve to take on his role as Trainer by becoming more serious and determined.
Sōjun can usually be found near the scene of an important event (albeit arriving late sometimes), however he rarely intervenes in situations, preferring to stay on the sidelines. He often tends to know more information then he lets on, and although often being a major player he acts only as a catalyst, having others do the work for him.
He also likes carving wood and seems to be skilled at it despite his blindness. He uses his fingers to see instead, though he may often miss off certain details if he hasn't met a Pokemon before. He keeps little wooden statues of all of his Pokemon and may often feel their faces and arms to get the right details he needs to work.
