[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,485][atrb=align, center][atrb=cellpadding,15px,true] gage drew cooper Echo really did surprise me. His very first attack on another Pokemon actually succeeded. His teeth snapped closed on the Weedle, which I thought would split him in half like he was nothing. Echo jumped back, waiting for Weedle to make his move. Which he did, shooting out a String Shot. It charged towards Echo, who tried to side step out of the way. However, it still managed to attach onto him and slow him down. "Dammit. How do I get this off?" Echo muttered, trying to rub his paw against the ground to remove it. "Don't worry about it pal. Use Flame Charge Echo." I shouted. Echo opened his mouth, letting a small bit of fire come out. It then wrapped around his body, shimmering under the light of the afternoon. He kicked off the ground, charging towards the Weedle with determination. Really, in this moment, he looked like the best Growlithe I could ask for. And I would have never seen such a thing if I didn't get that TM. Plus, it was a fire move. And if there was anything I knew for sure, bugs and fire didn't mix well. "We've got this Bidoof!" credit to damen Echo used Flame Charge. Shade is in Pokeball. Gage is fighting. |

<Whia, what are you, nuts?! Don't you know only you can prevent forest fires?> The Weedle cried as he dived out of the way of the Flame Charge, definitely a bit afraid at the fire combusting pooch that wanted to make a meal out of him. He panted from the close call, thankful that the String Shot did its job this time around. He was fast enough to dodge something with four legs! Yay!
Except not yay. That Growlithe would probably use it again to screw him over specifically. <You think you're so tough because you're so blazing tough. But you aren't. You're just a worthless thing that destroys everything important.> He ranted, pointing at some of the plant life that caught on fire.'
The Bidoof glanced at the flowers and made it his duty to stomp it out, wincing as he made contact with the little flames. Poor flowers, if only he had a bit of rainwater, then maybe he could put them out without harming them.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,485][atrb=align, center][atrb=cellpadding,15px,true] gage drew cooper I watched as Echo charged forward, faster than I had ever seen him before, aiming his attack towards the Weedle. Had it hit him, there was the huge possibility that it would be a KO. Fire was the Weedle's weakness. However, he had seemed to dodge it, Echo having brushed past him. He survived and held on by the skin of his teeth. If Weedle had teeth, that is. I looked over towards Bidoof, who was busy putting out the fires that had started. I wished there was some way to help, but I had no water in my bag and we were kind of missing a water Pokemon. "Nice try Echo. I stated, ignoring the worry from the Weedle. We'd have it covered. We wouldn't set the forest on fire.
Echo, who had returned to his previous spot in his offensive stance, was ready for another move. It would be nice to try out his other moves but I just wanted to see that amazing Flame Charge again. And hopefully, this time, it would actually hit. Maybe we'd have our first victory. Then we would've helped Bidoof. That was my goal. "Alright! Hit him with another Flame Charge!" I shout, watching as Growlithe repeated the same process. The lick of fire burst from his mouth, wrapping around his body and creating such an amazing light show. Then, he dove forward. Right at the Weedle. credit to damen Echo used Flame Charge. Shade is in ball. Gage is fighting. |

The fire situation seemed to be under control, but the Bidoof was still worried as he paced back and forth. That Growlithe better be careful or else--- ah it was using another Flame Charge! He couldn't even watch as he covered his eyes with his paws, feeling bad that something was going to be caught ablaze besides the Weedle. Fire was such a dangerous thing, especially around these parts.
<Whoa whoa whoa, what's with you ya moron!> The Weedle cried out in shock and pain as the Flame Charge rushed over his body. It wasn't just a tackle attack, but he was on fire at the same time! He rolled and rolled and rolled about, making sure he didn't get any burns from the move. He looked weak, especially because he was just a small worm facing a higher leveled foe.
<How about screw you, petty mutt!> He cried, shooting out a Poison Sting at the Growlithe. That would totally show him...uh, totally!

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,485][atrb=align, center][atrb=cellpadding,15px,true] gage drew cooper The Weedle was hit by the Flame Charge this time. Yeah, the fire engulfing his body confirmed that. Had he not rolled around a bit, I was afraid that he would just burn down to a pile of ash. Like some of the smaller bushes around us were doing. I felt bad, I did. However, there was nothing I could do about it. With no water and a strong determination to avenge Bidoof, I couldn't make everybody happy. You know, my brother said the same thing before he left. My mother had burst out into tears when she saw him come down with his bag and his little Growlithe. My dad really just wanted him out of the house. I just wanted to be with him. He had fixed his hat, opened the door, and muttered it so quietly that I had assumed he didn't want me to hear. That was the last thing he said to me in person.
I shake my head to get rid of the thoughts, focusing on the situation. Just in time to, because I see Weedle dive forward and sting Echo. "Shit. Are you alright?" I questioned, dropping down to check him. Maybe I was overprotective. I believe I have reason to be like that. I was sure Growlithe was poisoned this time around. I could tell in his eyes that something was hurting from inside. "Just hold on Echo. You'll be alright." I whisper to him. Well, if words could heal, mine certainly must've. He pushed himself back up and then barred his teeth, letting out a Roar. "Good job pal. Now, use Flamethrower!" I would deal with the fires later. Now, it was about Bidoof. And well...I couldn't make everybody happy. credit to damen Echo used Roar and Flamethrower. Shade is in his Pokeball. Gage does this. |

The Weedle Bully! [atrb=border,0,true] lv 4 | male unaware | simple tackle | growl scared easily, doesn't like to be crowded. wants friends but scared they'll reject him. bit of a klutz Avenged! | lv 3 | male Shield Dust: No side effects like flinching string shot | poison sting big bully. doesn't take no for an answer. likes to boss people and Pokémon around. Hit by Flamethrower while running awayRan off/Fainted. +1 level Growlithe |
The Weedle wasn't too happy when the Growlithe started to use Roar on him, but when the pooch did he was quick to get the heck out of there. Not without the Growlithe leaving him some kind of message he wouldn't forget though, as the Flamethrower chased after him like a hungry snake.
The Weedle was singed and swiftly fell down somewhere, either in a ditch or a hole, it was hard to tell. He was gone now, fainted by the looks of it.
The Bidoof seemed relieved that he wouldn't have to worry about the Weedle anymore. That was one less thing to be afraid of out in these parts, but don't even get him started on the Spearow flock further away. <You did it. I'm so happy I could cry.> He beamed at both trainer and Growlithe.
ooc: typically if you use an item, like a tm in the middle of the battle, you lose a turn. It's ok to add it whenever, but typically for battles it isn't fair to buy an item somewhere else and use it in the current battle. Only saying this because in your older post you mentioned your Growlithe didn't have a single fire move. xD

[[ooc; blegh, my bad. guess that makes sense. sorry :/ ]] a gage post! gage drew cooper [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,460,true][atrb=style, background: a4a4a4; padding: 5px; text-align: justify; color: #202020;] the journey Then he was gone. The Weedle ran off, falling down into a hole and not popping back up again. He was as good as gone. Thankfully. It meant we wouldn't have to use anymore fire. I made my way over to one bush that was lightly signed, pushing the burned part into the dirt to stop any fire from starting up. Bidoof had done a good job of keeping the rest calm. Speaking of Bidoof, I had finally finished what I promised. I turned to him, seeing the huge and smile on his face and having to smile too. "It's done now. I doubt the Weedle will be bothering you anymore." I mutter, brushing the dust off of my clothes. They had finally dried and now the sky was clear and nice. It was good weather for a good moment. "But you know..."
There was still the fact of me wanting him to join us on our journey. Us being myself, Echo, Shade and any future Pokemon who joined my team. "Nobody would bother you if you joined me." I state, moving my hand slowly to my waist. One, because it felt comfortable and two because I wanted to have easy access to a ball if he said yes. "So, what do you say Bidoof? I need you on my team." the summary gage has asked bidoof to join him

The Bidoof was startled by the human's question; this was the first time a trainer wanted him. Most trainers just beat him up with their pokémons or run away from him. The brown beaver smiled and nodded. <I'll galdly join your team! Give me a pokéball and we can go!>

Bidoof wasn't really that receiving to the presence of myself and Echo for the first bit and even when he finally opened up, I doubted he'd just let everything go. Even if he had nothing here except bullies and pain. But when he agreed to join, I felt only happiness. Isn't that what I wanted when I set out on this journey? To have a team and to have friends that I could count on. And this Bidoof had done that for me right from the beginning. He had been the friend I wanted, even if he didn't realize it yet. I unclip a ball from my belt and I point it towards Bidoof. "Thanks pal." I smile, tossing it lightly towards him. I would catch him unless he resisted. I didn't even want to watch. Just like with Shade. I couldn't bear to see it shake so slowly until the click announced that he was mine. So, I looked away, waiting to hear that sound that would announce him being a part of my team. And then I'd have to come up with a name. A name for my very own Bidoof. the summary what will happen next? |

lv 4 | male unaware | simple tackle | growl scared easily, doesn't like to be crowded. wants friends but scared they'll reject him. bit of a klutzf The poke'ball dinked against Bidoof's skull and fell to the ground. Bidoof looked at it and it suddenly sucked him inside. The lights subsided and the ball began to rock back and forth while, inside, the Bidoof settled himself into his new home happily. It dinged, locking shut and capturing the Bidoof for Gage!
[/size] Picnicker Alice! "HEY!" Alice shouted while running over to Gage. She hand a poke'ball in her hand and a big grin on her face. "Nice battle! I saw it from over the ridge there!" She pointed over her shoulder at the direction she'd just come from. She placed her free hand on her hip and lifted the other, containing a poke'ball in her hand. "Care for something a little more challenging than a Weedle?" She asked in a brave voice.

a gage post! gage drew cooper [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,460,true][atrb=style, background: a4a4a4; padding: 5px; text-align: justify; color: #202020;] the journey And then I heard the click that announced the capture of Bidoof. A smile plastered itself on my face as I moved towards the ball to attach it to my belt. Echo, Shade and now the Bidoof. I already had a team starting. And it could only get better. Hmm, now a name. I thought to myself, searching through all the possible names I had engraved in my mind. But then a story stood out. It was a myth that I had found in a book in my parent's room. It spoke about a sea nymph or something like that, which I guessed was a Water Pokemon, who detained some really important person in one place. It reminded me of Bidoof, detained in this forest and never able to leave thanks to the bullies and any family he might have. He had no where to go. But I saved him. And the name of the detainer was Calypso. I like it. Fits him. I smiled, putting it back in it's ball holder. Calypso would be a great addition.
Really, I was already close to having a full roster. Four Pokemon would belong to me once the egg hatched. Oh yeah, the egg. I guess the battle kind of got to me. I'm forgetting to explain things. You see, the small egg had been purchased by me a bit ago but it was wrapped up. It was different from Echo's, instead seeming to radiate with cold instead of warmth. The shop owner claimed it was a Zubat egg, so I had no issues getting one. My parents had a Crobat once, one they really loved. But it was released one day because it was sick. I can't remember why, but they said it needed to go. Maybe it died. I was six, I didn't care. But the egg, that was now in my hands, would soon hatch. I could feel the frequent shakes from it. Any minute now. Or maybe any day.
That's when the girl arrived, proposing a battle. "Are you sure you're that much more challenging?" I asked with a smile. I had always been good with girls. Maybe not super flirtatious but I could keep a conversation going and it usually turned out well. "Alright, let's do this." I say, looking back towards Echo. He had done a good job, he deserved to go again. And he was doing good with the fire moves as of now. Maybe I'd get lucky and she would have bugs or grass. Then I'd be getting better. And with that thought in mind, I waited to see what she sent out first. the summary gage has sent out echo

Alice crossed her arms. "Of course I'll be a challenge!" She said, a bit offended by Gage's comment. "What, don't think a girl can beat you? Think again! I've beaten a lot of dudes in the past." She said, bragging a bit about herself. Without waiting any longer she threw out a Pokeball. Released from it was a Volbeat. He hovered around and looked around. Noticing his Opponent he took a look and his face turned pale. Oh crap it was a fire type. Looking at Alice he pointed. "Yes yes I know, but you'll win, don't worry!" Alice assured her Pokemon.
Mister looked worried though. His Trainer probably bragged about her winning again. Shaking his head he knew this would end in a humiliating defeat...

a gage post! gage drew cooper [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,460,true][atrb=style, background: a4a4a4; padding: 5px; text-align: justify; color: #202020;] echo , shade , calypso , skyrix the journey To be completely honest, I was glad that the girl had confidence in her Pokemon. I would've given up if I were her or her Pokemon. Facing your weakness wasn't always fun. It was a long shot to do well, let alone actually win. For me, it was a good thing. I mean, I really didn't have any problems so far. Echo was my best friend and easily one of my strongest Pokemon. And with his fire attacks, any grass or bug Pokemon was in trouble. Being loyal and being strong were two things that worked wonder when placed together. In other words, Echo worked wonders in fights. Although, we had only participated in one fight together. So, maybe I shouldn't be thinking that I was going to win just yet. Maybe this girl had something up her sleeve that would annihilate through my team like they were nothing.
I had worked up quite a team so far. Echo came with me, so he was obviously going to be beside me the whole way. Then there was Shade. I had caught him while at the Ranger tent. It was hard to believe that it had only been yesterday that I had been there. And I added Calypso to my team earlier today. It felt good to know that the poor Bidoof was with me now and didn't have to worry about anything just yet. And when the man had mysteriously approached me, dressed in red and white from head to toe, I had received the fourth member of my team. The cute little Pokemon was one I didn't recognize at first but I definitely appreciated his generous gift. Oh, and the egg. It suddenly felt heavier in my hands as I remembered it. It became natural to feel the rounded shape in my hands. I just hope that it hatches soon.
But for now, I had to focus on the battle. I watched as Echo stepped forward, taking an offensive pose. It was a pose that I was already used to, even though this was the second battle he had used it in. "Alright Echo! Let's start it off with a roar." I shout, watching as Echo opened his mouth and let out a sort of growl that would scare any Wurmple away. "And now follow with a flamethrower." I pointed towards Mister just as the flame escaped Echo's mouth. If everything went as I hoped it would, I'd see a scorched bug when the flames cleared. And if not, I could do this all day. So far, I had no complaints. I liked it that way. the summary Echo has used ROAR and FLAMETHROWER

Trainer Alice
"Hohoho! I can't wait to get in the action! How about you Mister?" Alice asked with excitement, despite the orders of the powerful attacks from the Growlithe. Something unexpected happened though, and the roar sent Mister scrambling back into his Pokeball in fear. The Flamethrower ended up hitting nothing but thin air, how odd. Alice stared at the Growlithe and the trainer, completely stumped as to why that happened.
"You know roar is used to end battles, not start them, right?" She asked, as if the trainer was a moron. She only had one Pokemon on her right now, so sadly Mister was going to have to come right back out. She toyed with the sphere until she pressed the button, releasing a frightened Volbeat that couldn't attack this turn.
Oh well, they could always re-do the first turn. "Chillax Mister, you didn't even get hit by a Flamethrower." She patted the Volbeat on the back energetically, making the gentleman flinch as he thought of what awaited him.
