Eli had only just walked out of the pokemon lab, it had been a good day so far. Meeting Professor Winter for the first time, getting Pansear the fire type elemental monkey pokemon and also acquiring a package of different assortments of items. But now Eli was eager to get his journey started. Eli started tow walk at a medium pace as he wasn't trying to go to slow or fast as he was headed towards Route 1. He had put the items he had aquired in his back pack and had only kept Pansear's pokeball in his hand so if he needed it. Eli arrived at a little brown sign that said "Route 1". This was Eli's first destination, Eli started walking as he looked around observing everything around him. Eli then pointed Pansear's pokeball towards the grassy ground. A red beam shot out of the ball as it reached the ball and started forming the body shape of a monkey. Eli looked closer to see Pansear, he was the fire type elemental monkey pokemon. Eli wondered what he could name him. Then out of no where Eli had already thought of a name. He opened his mouth as he said, "Pansear, I'm going to call you Archer." Pansear happily nodded up and down towards Eli as it seemed to be happy with it's new name. Then Archer started to jump around Eli merrily as he tried to get to know his trainer. Eli knew trying to get to know his first pokemon wouldn't be to easy or to hard. Eli then started playing with his little fire monkey pokemon as he knew that he couldn't see any trainers or pokemon heading towards them at the moment.

No Pokemon seemed to be nearby, but then again, they weren't exactly looking up at the sky, were they? A flock of birds started getting into a fight over their recent prey; a crying baby Wurmple that was snatched while her mother was away, and a hysteric shiny Caterpie that was freaking out because they were both going to die.
Sure enough, the birds ended up pecking each other so much that the two bugs were accidentally dropped from the sky. The Caterpie sobbed as he clung to the baby Wurmple, but managed to lighten the blow by using a string shot on one of the branches.
It might as well have been raining bug Pokemon, because the Caterpie was about to bounce on the Pansear's head, while the Wurmple was aimed at the trainer's shoulder.
What do man, what do?

Eli stood with his Pansear as he was trying to create a bond with it. But then one of the most strangest things had happened. Pansear had suddenly spotted a Caterpie and a Wurmple flying down from the sky. But the odd thing was that Caterpie was a gold color. There had been a flock of birds above trying to take the two little bug Pokémon and eat them and they accidentally dropped them. Now they were on a crash course towards Pansear to crush him, and on Eli's shoulder. Eli had act quick as he looked over at Archer and thought maybe if Pansear moved out of the way and used Scratch on it, it would weaken the little bug Pokémon. Archer needed some training and this would be the perfect prey. But then there was the problem of the Wurmple flying towards Eli's shoulder. Eli thought maybe catching the bug Pokémon before it hit the ground would work. Eli threw his arms out and moved back so he lined up with Wurmple and able to catch it in his hands. Then Eli said to Archer, "Archer, use Scratch on Caterpie to slow down it's falling rate and cause damage." Archer happily nodded at Eli as he readied his little hands and his minuscule claws just out long enough to hit Caterpie. Eli watched on and hoped Archer would be able to time the attack and have precision. Because if he didn't he might become the first fire type money Pokémon to be crushed by a bug type Pokémon like Caterpie.

The Caterpie had no idea what was going on, but before be fell he felt claws scratch at his body before rolling onto the ground. The landing was softened by the green grass, that was fresh and healthy after many nights of rain. He whimpered as he got back up, trying to make sense of the situation. First, was the kid alright? He saw the Wurmple was with a stranger and decided it was safe enough for him to just ditch.
Except that Pansear didn't look like he'd let him get away so easily. He gulped, frightened at the idea of a battle and decided he should just practice a get away plan. He used to dream about encountering trainers, especially after his mother warned him about the dangers of his odd coloration. They were frightening, greedy beasts that only cared about outer appearance. He couldn't be involved in any of that...stuff! He squealed at the horror of it all and sprayed a String Shot at the Pansear, trying to make him harder to chase after.
<Hurt me? Attack me? You don't attack a crazy Pokemon without...> He looked like he was going to cry from the fear. <without consequences.> He squeaked pathetically, going ahead and trying to tackle the fire type. Wait, didn't he want to get away? Somehow, he lost his ability to think coherently. Oh dear.

OOC: How do you know how much health it has and know when to catch it? Caterpie felt the brunt of Pansear's claws as it caught the little worm like Pokémon before it hit the ground. The little golden Pokémon seemed frightened, but for some reason still wanted to battle. It had use String Shot to slow Pansear down, and then gained enough courage to use Tackle. This Caterpie seemed to be having troubles with what was going on. Now was Eli's time to strike. Eli held onto Wurmple as it sat in his arms, whimpering like a little baby. Eli thought he would take care of this one for now and then let it go after the battle. Plus the Caterpie and Wurmple seemed to be close friends and Eli was guessing they wouldn't leave a friend behind. That's when Eli thought a combo would come in handy against Caterpie. Eli then said to Archer, "Archer, use Leer and then combo that move with Scratch." Archer looked a bit dazed being told two orders but he seemed to be mentally coping so far and that was what mattered. Archer readied his claws as his eyes started glowing a light red. They they shot a infrared ray through the air so quickly it wasn't even visible. It had yet to reach Caterpie as Archer had started running towards the golden bug with it's eyes glowing a light red and his claws ready to cause damage to the bug.

The Pansear might've lowered his defense a little, but he was still at level 8. That meant he was a lot tougher than the fire type, shocker right? Except he didn't realize that, and that chilling glare made him want to wet himself out of terror. He attempted to crawl away from the Scratch, thinking he could dodge it, but it just wasn't going to happen this time around.
His back side was scratched and he was left to whimper and whine, turning around with a betrayed expression. <You might've done that...but I believe!> He cried dramatically, flopping about in his attempt to throw his attacker off of him. Then he charged ahead with another bold Tackle, trying to prove...something. He didn't know what just yet.
<sniffle...twanks.> The Wurmple whimpered as she nuzzled the trainer's arms, wanting to be petted a little as she was held. She was thankful from being saved, but she felt helpless. What was she supposed to do now?

Eli stood as he watched Leer successfully hit the golden bug pokemon. The funny thing was that Caterpie was stronger then Archer. It would have been because of the three level difference between the pokemon. Archer then uses it's claws again successfully on Caterpie. It seemed to have caused enough damage to make the bug whimper in terror. That's exactly what Eli had wanted. But then Caterpie hit back with a Tackle attack. Eli knew this would be a tough battle with such a level difference. But he could feel the Wurmple in his arms as it was eager to be petted. Eli stroked his hand along the red bug type pokemons body. It wasn't to rough and the little bug seemed to enjoy, but it seemed off guard watching it's friend battling and not being able to help at the moment. Eli looked at Archer as he still looked energetic and ready for more orders. Eli then said to Archer while hugging Wurmple, "Archer, use Leer and then Tackle again. That combination worked perfectly!" Archer knew the orders he had been given. Archer readied his eyes as he started running on his little feet across the soft grass. Archer's claws extended readying for Scratch as the transparent infrared rays shot out of Archer's eyes heading towards Caterpie. Eli knew if this combo would work it would make a huge difference and kill the theory of weaker pokemon couldn't beat stronger pokemon.

The Caterpie watched as Archer came towards him. He squealed though, and ran out of the way. Watching Archer carefully, he tried to compose himself. The fighting was getting to him. He had been hit by the Leer and was lucky to dodge the tackle, but another attack would follow and that could only mean losing. He couldn't do that. So, he used a String Shot and followed it up with a Tackle. It was his turn to fight now, even if he was scared of everybody around him.
Wurmple felt the warmth of the trainer against her body, soaking up in the moments of tranquility. 'Wuuurm.' She practically purred, letting out a long breath.

Eli kept on watching the battle as he saw Archer successfully hit Leer and lowered Caterpie's Defense again. Now it seemed alot weaker and had less guard it was time to take out it's health. But the problem with Archer's Scratch was that Caterpie dodged it. Caterpie was lucky as it then used a String Shot to lower Archer's Defense and Tackle to cause some damage. The Caterpie was looking pretty lucky right about now. But that wouldn't last for long. Archer wasn't really starting to look tired and had alot of fight still left in it. By the looks of it, Caterpie did to. Eli had saw before his very eyes Archer miss the combination. Combination moves were very rarely both successful. Eli had decided now he would go on a Scratch onslaught until Caterpie was weak enough for a capture. Eli looked at Archer and said, "Archer, use Scratch. We can win this easily" Eli felt the confidence run through him as Archer nodded and readied himself for the attack. Wurmple that was firmly in Eli's arms was purring as Eli kept on patting her. Wurmple had seemed to have grown a comfort to him like a father figure. Eli looked back to Archer as he saw him running across the soft grass with his claws ready to strike. Now it was time to weaken Caterpie.

The Caterpie was definitely going to fight for this one. He was stronger than most of the Caterpie around. Then again, he was very different. While they were all green, he was gold. It did scare him though, to see the Pokemon come charging towards him or to see the trainer hold the Wurmple. He was afraid of everything. Being caught, loosing, being picked on, being held. Wurmple was just a baby. Well, literally, she was. But still. The scratch hit him, digging deep into his soft skin. He dove away from the Pokemon, looking with worry at the situation. He could only attack really. He wouldn't be able to run now. The Wurmple was his responsibility, even if nobody asked for that. He was just that type of bug. So, he used a String Shot and followed it with another Tackle, hoping to win this fight.

Eli watched as the battle kept soaring very quickly. Archer had successfully hit Scratch again on Caterpie but seemingly enough, it didn't seem all that worn out from damage. The battle seemed like it was going to take quite a while before the victor was declared. Eli always like a tough battle, but as he watched on he saw Caterpie get another Combo in. It had hit String Shot and Tackle. It was quite a lucky little golden bug. Eli was still patting Wurmple the Wurmple as he hadn't noticed it had fallen asleep. It was so cute as it lay in Eli's arms. It was a nice sight to see and gave Eli even more motivation to battle on. Eli then saw over near a tree another group of Caterpie, but they were green. Eli had now worked out why Caterpie was gold, it was a shiny pokemon. Eli knew that Shiny Caterpie only really looked different in appearance but he had a feeling that they were alot tougher then normal pokemon. Eli had seen it's luck by being able to land combos in a row. Now Eli knew if he could keep trying to weaken it's defense and attacking it would make it an easier battle. Eli looked at Archer as it looked at Eli waiting for orders and Eli said, "Archer, try to use Leer and Scratch in a combo. But wait a little longer for Leer so they both hit almost at the same time." Eli looked as Archer hardly understood what he was saying but understood the moves it had been given. Archer started running agilely across the grass as it readied it's claws and kept concentration on the shiny little bug pokemon. Archer was now only a few meters away from Caterpie as his eyes shot the infrared invisible beams towards Caterpie. Eli watched on hoping this time he would be the lucky one and not Caterpie.

The Caterpie was hit by both of the attacks at the same time. He shrugged them off too, moving closer. However, he was feeling it. There was no doubt about it, he couldn't ignore the fact that he was hurting. Meanwhile, Wurmple was still acting childish in the boy's arms. Caterpie always had to do all the work. And he was too afraid to lose. He just couldn't. He prepared another String Shot, shooting the string towards the Pokémon again. Then, he followed with yet another Tackle. It was the only attack he could do to make sure he made it out alive and free. He liked being wild, even if it meant be scared of the trees and the rocks and the dirt and the wind and all the other Pokémon around him. He thought being captured would suck.

Eli knew for a pokemon that had fell out of the sky that this pokemon was tough and trying to protect Wurmple. Caterpie seemed to be the more responsible one of the two seeing as how babyish the Wurmple was acting. But Eli wanted to capture this little shiny critter. He had just watched Leer and Tackle work again as a combination and had watched Caterpie fire back for a third time in a row with String Shot and and Tackle. If Archer would have had the move Ember, Caterpie would have been long gone. Wurmple woke up after a very short nap as it started to position itself whimpering in Eli's arms. Eli patted it as it slowly stopped and watched Caterpie battle Pansear. It would have been a very frightening sight for such a young pokemon like Wurmple. Eli was starting to get bored of this battle as the same attacks were constantly being used. Eli wanted to finish this off soon before his boredom meter hit one hundred. He looked at Archer and said, "Archer, use Leer and Scratch again and use full power to finish this off." Archer got his eyes into position as he nodded at Eli once again, Eli and Archer had grown a bond quickly so far and Eli was happy with that. He watched on as he saw Archer start running once again towards Caterpie readying itself for Scratch. Eli hoped this time that Archer would be able to exert max power and weaken the Caterpie so it was very weak.

The boy thought that Caterpie would be done soon. Really, did he look that weak? Even though he was generally scared and would flee from the sound of a twig snapping, and even though he was a small little bug who could easily be squished by most things, he wasn't weak. And he definitely wasn't done fighting this battle. Unlike Wurmple, who let out a squeal and a small coo, Caterpie was willing to fight. He preferred to fear the humans, rather than sit in their arms comfortably. The Leer managed to hit him, but he jumped out of the way of the scratch with ease. He followed with the typical routine, shooting a String Shot to lower speed and then following with a Tackle.the summary { Shiny Caterpie } Level 8, Male Shield Dust Tackle|String Shot Personality: A definite coward, has trouble listening, goes insane when frightened. This fight wasn't as easy as Eli thought it would be, he had felt it was easy but it really wasn't. This Shiny Caterpie was a tough brick to break, Wurmple it's little partner seemed to be the weaker of the two bugs. Wurmple was babyfiying itself in Eli's arms looking for a bit of comfort and found it enjoyable to be hugged and cared for. The little pokemon looked cute and that was really it. Archer had hit Leer again lowering Caterpie's defense stat. But his Scratch didn't work, this battle was starting to become a pain because of that. Eli couldn't take anymore chances he thought. Caterpie's defense seemed lowered enough and it was time to go on the assault mode. Eli looked at Archer as he was starting to look slightly tired, he felt sorry for the little fire monkey and hoped it could win the battle. Eli then said to Archer, "Archer, use Tackle. Exert maximum force into this one if you can." Archer got its claws readied again as they looked sharp as ever, then he started running on the soft grass towards Caterpie. The battle was starting to sway in a circle with the same moves being used. But it wasn't really there fault for not having a wider move set. Eli watched and hoped that Archer would be able to exert maximum force into this Scratch attack.

The Caterpie saw the Scratch coming, but honestly he didn't even care at this point. Feel the pain! Feel the burn! It only fueled his animalistic instincts, a true untamed beast of nature. He squealed as he was scratched with such might, despite being up against a lowered leveled foe. The defense drops were really something when used a lot, and he was starting to get worried about what would happen if he lost.
He was starting to get some common sense after showing signs of fatigue, much like the Pansear. He reared up like a snake giving off a warning, glaring at the foe even though he wanted to cry and go home to mommy. He felt bad for the Wurmple, but she looked happy. Not his problem, really.
<Aiyeeee!> He cried with fright, charging ahead for another tackle on the fire monkey. He wasn't giving up any time soon, and this trainer was going to have to make a choice if the battle ended up being too long.
ooc: Don't forget, the battle is mostly hard because it is a level 5 versus a level 8. Those tackles should be doing something. <3 Also mods, keep track of stat changes. It's pretty important.

Eli watched on as Archer successfully landed another Scratch attack. Eli was quite happy that it hit because he wasn't expecting it to with his luck. Eli looked at Archer and saw he was getting weaker after every attack that Caterpie did. Eli thought if Archer could just weaken Caterpie's health just low enough it might open up a chance for a capture. That was Eli's plan for now. Eli glared at Wurmple petting it like a baby, it was seemingly being spoiled by him. But Eli didn't mind taking care of him while in a battle like this. It helped give him more motivation to win. Eli then put his head up and looked at Caterpie, it's defenses were alot weaker then before and it's body looked very soft in different places that Archer had already hit it. Eli looked at Archer and said, "Archer, use Scratch again" Eli watched and was hoping lady luck would let Archer's Scratch attack be powerful enough to almost KO. Eli wasn't worried anymore about how boring the battle was getting. It was starting to get more intense as both pokemon were getting weak and they were very even in health. Archer started running on the soft grass, he sped up as he readied his claws for a diagonal swipe on Caterpie. Eli hoped that Archers attack would cause massive damage. OOC: I understand, it's pretty fun so far. It's getting better now that both pokemon are getting weak. Thanks for the mass amounts of reply's!

[OOC: It'd be good if you could post your pokemon as that'd tell us easily what it is] The scratch attack made it's way to the Caterpie and it suddenly began to get very frightened and quickly attempted to make a run for it, just like a natural coward would. >No! No! I'm hurting! Don't follow me! Don't follow me!< He said as he shot a string shot at Archer before trying to run as fast as he could away from the action. The only problem was, as a caterpillar he wasn't necessarily fast. Even the few strides he could take, did not cover much ground. That was the problem with the Caterpie but it did not care at the moment, it just had one goal in mind and that was to escape... Anything else was unimportant. The Wurmple on the other hand began to slowly dose off and quickly fell asleep on Eli's hands. It was comfortable and the trainer was very comforting... It started to really bond with Eli. Eli patted Wurmple as he watched it slowly fall back to sleep. It was a very cute sight to see a bug Pokémon like this sleeping. But Eli tried to get his focus back onto the battle. Eli had just watched Caterpie try to cower and run away from Pansear's Scratch but Pansear had gotten it even after Caterpie's String Shot. Caterpie had wasted a turn and Eli could now captivate on it. He could see the little bug Pokémon was quickly starting to weaken. Eli glanced over at Pansear and said, "Archer, use Scratch again!" Pansear easily knew the order it was going to be given, it was either Leer or Scratch so he was ready for whichever his trainer picked. Archer started running towards Caterpie hoping that it would try to buy time by using another String Shot and giving away a turn. Archer's claws were starting to look a bit worn out from the amount of scratching they had done. But Pansear wasn't worried at the moment about that. The sun was shining as a breeze started to come along making the day cooler. It had been so far really good weather, Eli just hoped that it would stay that way. It was a great day for Eli to get some training in and maybe even catch a Pokémon or more. But the one he had to worry about for now was the Shiny Caterpie he was up against. Eli just hoped that level difference wasn't going to help Caterpie out as he watched Pansear going for a Scratch attack.

Upon seeing that he wasn't making much ground on the Pansear the Caterpie turned around and attempted to be brave in front of Eli but upon seeing the scratch come his way, he was unable to muster up the courage to attack but luckily sent out a large string shot as a defensive mechanism to prevent himself from being damaged this round. The strings made a barrier between the two, one that the Pansear would have to break before he would have a chance of reaching the Caterpie. This was a good start, a good way to buy time as the Caterpie attempted to gather his confidence and fight the Pansear. The problem was, he was a bit of a coward so this became hard. He could only think of running but he was obviously too slow to do that. Poor Caterpie, just because he was shiny the trainer went crazy to get him. He wished he never was shiny...
