Eli watched the battle intensify more, Shiny Caterpie had used String Shot to create a barrier between itself and Pansear. It was a smart move by the little bug pokemon. But Eli knew it was only just prolonging the battle before it would be captured. Eli looked at Pansear as it looked tired, although it being worn out it was ready to fight on until the end. Eli could see Caterpie was just as tired if not more tired than Pansear. Eli then said to Pansear, "Pansear, use Scratch." Pansear had already guessed what it was going to be told as it started running straight towards Caterpie. It raised it's little claws and got them ready as it ran with it's little feet through the strong wind heading towards the bug pokemon. Eli hoped this Scratch would hit unlike the previous one.

The coward was struck with yet another scratch attack which made him almost well up and cry everything out. But he mustered up all of his strength and courage and prevented himself from crying. It was no time to be a baby and cry... He had to be a man now, his family depended on it and they needed it. His pride got in the way too, it was time to really show the enemy what he was made of. Suddenly, while the battle raged on and got more intense. The Shiny Caterpie began to glow and began to change in shape also. It seemed that from the entire battle, it had gotten strong enough to evolve and thus it did... It became a Shiny Metapod after evolving and thus had a bigger boost in defense than he did originally. Within seconds, he quickly decided to harden his shell to take away from his lowered defenses and quickly stuck to his side, waiting for the opponent so he could react quickly and fight a more fair battle now. Some of his cowardness went away with the evolution, but he was still more coward than brave. What Eli had just seen had made the tables of the battle turn. The Shiny Caterpie had evolved in the white shining light into it's second form known as Metapod. It was a quite an extraordinary sight, but it slightly made Eli uneasy. Eli had heard that Metapod was a very defensive pokemon, that was going to be a problem if Pansear was to attack with Scratch as it would be alot weaker then before. Eli stood looking just as shocked as Pansear was, Pansear was in awe as it could only watch what was going on. Eli was still patting Wurmple and knew the little pokemon had just missed it's friend evolve. But the little red bug pokemon was fast asleep like a little baby. Eli decided now would be the time for him to tell Pansear another move. Eli looked at Pansear as he said, "Pansear use Scratch, but after the attack dodge whatever move Metapod uses." Pansear didn't look as confident as it was when it battled Caterpie. But it knew what to do after being told it's orders. It glared at the orange crescent shaped pokemon and knew it had to be weak. Pansear was running and as it did Eli could see it was becoming more confident of winning after every step. All Pansear needed to do now was just weaken the pokemon till it couldn't fight on.

The red Metapod took the fire type's scratch and as the attack ended, it hardened its tough "armor". It was a good thing he evolved; if he was still a Caterpie, a few more scratches and he would have fainted. The cocoon smirked(?) before jumping forward, traying to slam into the Pansear.
Slowly, the young Wurmple opened itss eyes and let out a loud yawn. Soon, it noticed the battle between the two pokémon which frightened it and the worm started crying. <Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!! I want my mommy!>

Eli heard the cry of Wurmple as it woke up to see Pansear fighting its close friend. The little pokemon was very much baby like and was looking for it's mother, but Eli didn't know where it's mother would be. Eli watched Metapod use Harden and Scratch in succession and he felt that he was losing control of the battle. All he could do was get Pansear to keep fighting on. Pansear stood proud of itself after the Scratch attack and saw the orange crescent shaped pokemon as a target and wasn't one bit scared of it anymore. Eli knew that the level difference between the two pokemon was starting to become handy to the Metapod. Plus it's ability to be able to get rid of the defense stat lowering's that Pansear had inflicted. Eli wondered if this battle was going to be his win or the Metapod's. He looked at Pansear and said, "Pansear use Leer and Scratch in a combo!" Pansear jumped into an offensive state as it readied its eyes and knew what it had to do. Pansear the little fire monkey started running towards the orange crescent shaped pokemon sending a red infrared invisible beam towards it to lower it's defense, Then it would get it's claws ready again for it's only offensive move possible at the moment known as Scratch.

His response was to begin using harden again to build back up his defenses and keep him safe from the intimidating Pansear. Before he was able to complete the harden attack however he was hit with another scratch attack. He squirmed and made some angry sorts of noises, as if a beast was swelling inside of him! What a vicious, beautiful butterfree he'd become! "Come on Metapod." He willed himself on, jumping towards the Pansear to scratch the monkey. Somehow. Probably using some sharp point on his body. Meanwhile the young Wurmple, still in tears, was beginning to cry louder. As he cried he fired off a string shot towards Eli's face. It was globby and not well-formed, and resembled baby vomit.

Eli felt what most people would call "Baby Vomit". Wurmple had been crying and after a while it fired a globby string shot. The string wasn't formed as Wurmple was still a baby and didn't know how to control it's attacks properly. Eli grabbed the gooey string off his face and threw it away. He then stopped patting the Wurmple as he thought it didn't deserve to be patted now that it spat vomit on Eli. Pansear had used Leer and Scratch in succession and made the combo work. But Metapod used Harden and Tackle. So for every time Pansear lowered it's defense, Metapod built it back up. Eli could see there had to be some flaw with this little Pokémon somewhere. But for now he was going to resort to his same tactics until he thought of something. He looked at Pansear and said, "Pansear use Leer and Scratch again in a combo" Pansear started running as it concentrated hard on the orange crescent shaped Pokémon. It was getting it's eyes ready for Leer as it shot the invisible infrared beams towards Metapod looking to lower it's defense. It then readied it's little claws again for a Scratch attack. This battle had taken quite a while, but once he caught the Pokémon it would all pay off.

::Wurmple:: Upon not being patted... The Wurmple completely freaked out and suddenly began to shoot poison stings at all direction, many of which were aimed at various parts of Eli's body as she began to sob, cry, and pout so much more. >No! No! Why? Why?< She began to shout a bit sad and very disappointed also. She was a bit of a mess to say the very least... Very much a mess... The Metapod though, was more aware of the battle now and upon seeing a leer attack come his way, he quickly ducked and closed his eyes before he hardened his shell. He was hit by the Scratch attack but it began to lessen greatly in strength and he started to feel a bit better already. Although the scratch did pierce his skin a little and he started to weaken a bit. This match was starting to turn into one of those that would cause him to run all over again... In due time he might start running again =(. { Shiny Metapod } (Defense -2)( weakened ) Level 8, Male Shield Dust Tackle|String Shot|Harden Personality: Less of a coward than before, but still has trouble listening. Eli watched as the Wurmple freaked out and shot poison dart like shapes at him. They hit him, but didn't exactly hurt one bit. Eli felt like punching the little pokemon because of it attacking him. But Eli didn't want to resort to violence, all he knew was that this pokemon was a spoiled little baby that didn't deserve to be treated well. Eli placed the pokemon on the ground and walked away from it trying to get it out of his mind. Eli tried concentrating on the battle as he looked at Pansear, he could see he had alot of fight left in him and knew now was the time to play tactical against this orange crescent shaped pokemon. Eli wondered if he could use the Wurmple as a distraction for the Metapod. Metapod seemed to care deeply for the little red worm and now Eli was going to use it as a distraction Eli said to Pansear, "Pansear, use Leer and Scratch in a combo. But concentrate on the attack and not what I'm doing." Pansear only understood the attacks it had been told. It started it's normal routine of running on the grass towards the opposing pokemon as it's eyes shot read infrared beams towards Metapod. It also readied it's claws for the Scratch attack, but what Eli had already done was picked up the Wurmple. Eli looked at Metapod and started running towards it as he looked to distract the pokemon as Pansear hit his attacks.

Baby Wurmple threw a fit when he was set down. He stomped his feet and angrily screamed at the top of his lungs. This totally wasn't fair. Too bad Eli was expecting a baby to have the maturity of a full grown Wurmple. Bad parent alert! In retaliation Wurmple launched another poison sting attack, this time at Pansear! Sabotage. Mwahahah. Metapod glared back at Pansear, ready to shout out that he could stop all this leering non-sense. He'd just keep hardening up his shell and this stand still would continue. If he was more agile Metapod probably would have been trying to run. But he wasn't. He was easily caught with the scratch attack. Idea time. The cowardly creature used tackle, trying to smack into Pansear, and at the same time fly past him and off into the nearby bushes.

Eli watched as his plan seemed to work, Pansear had successfully used Leer and then Scratch. Metapod was looking extremely weak now and he contemplated whether or not he should try to capture it. Chances are he could catch it, but you never know. Eli grabbed a red and white pokeball out of his left pocket and then he looked at the Shiny Metapod and watched Pansear try to regain as much energy as he could. Eli then said in a confident voice, "Go pokeball. Catch Shiny Metapod!" Eli dragged his arm back behind his shoulders, then he threw it forward and released it out of his hand, The ball quickly soared through the air as it was headed towards Shiny Metapod. Eli was hoping that it would capture the pokemon, because if it didn't, he would just have to keep attacking it. Which would most likely result in a knockout.

Woah! It has not fainted yet! ^ V ^ OOC: You never said if either attacks hit... Also your Pansear should be super weak now seeing how many hits it took from stronger opponents. Also you should really think about doing the summary thing like we are, just because sometimes your post is a bit hard to read. We don't know if you were hit or not which gets complex. And it also makes it easier for you to judge when you look back. Counting it, you probably got hit by like 8 tackles already, and a poison sting if the last attacks hit... That should have fainted your pokemon already. BIC: The pokeball came and smacked the Metapod right in the face and engulfed the little critter in. It wasn't fun when the Metapod was enclosed in the trapped space, he was getting very weak and now he was on the verge of being captured by this trainer with his powerful Pansear. This wasn't fun at all... The Metapod quickly struggled as hard as he could to break out of the pokeball. First he pushed to the right as hard as he could. Then to the left as hard as he could. Then he started ramming forward, started pushing back. Eventually, he had enough force and finally broke free before the pokeball clamped shut. >Not that easily you won't!< He said as he began to size up for another tackle at the Pansear. The Wurmple quickly followed in an attempt to tackle the monkey also. She jumped out of Eli's arms and quickly aimed her head at the monkey also { Shiny Metapod } ( Defense -2 )( super weak ) Level 8, Male Shield Dust Tackle|String Shot|Harden Personality: Less of a coward than before, but still has trouble listening. Eli watched as the events that he had ordered unfolded. Metapod had broken free from the pokeball Eli had thrown and had counter attacked with a Tackle attack. It caused quite an amount of damage to Pansear and Eli could see he was very weak now. But worst of all Wurmple had used Poison Sting on Pansear causing it even more damage. Pansear was ready to faint. Luckily Pansear didn't faint, Eli could see it was tired of the battle and was weak. Luckily the weather had cooled down and everything was calm now and Eli wondered if maybe he was to throw another pokeball he might catch the shiny Metapod. He stood wondering if it was weakened enough, but maybe just healing Pansear after it using Scratch would help. He looked at Pansear and said, "Pansear, use Scratch once more! Then I'll heal you little buddy." Eli looked on confident at Pansear and hoped it would have enough energy to pull through. He watched on as Pansear struggled but started running towards shiny Metapod and readied it's claws for one more Scratch attack. Eli quickly unzipped his backpack, grabbed out a spray bottle like shape that had the title "Potion"on the front and readied himself for when Pansear ran back so he could heal the little guy. Pansear - Level 5 - Male (Super Weak) Summary: Hit by Tackle. Use Scratch Blaze Scratch, Leer, Sleep Talk Tired of battling this Metapod. You'r going down you orange beast! OOC: Sorry I didn't know I was in charge of my pokemon. Very sorry, also I tried to fix my post up a bit with pointing out whether the attacks hit or not from last turn but I don't say if the next turns moves hit. Just wondering is that my job or yours? Also in the next post am I allowed to use a Potion to heal Pansear?

[OOC:] I am in charge of my pokemon and you are in charge of yours. So when I attack you say if those moves hit or not in your reply. Then I say what you did and then you go and etc. And yes you can use a potion but you can't attack if you use a potion. Basically if I use tackle this turn, you have to say in your reply if it hit or not... [BIC:] It was an incredibly interesting sight when the Wurmple, the newborn who was first picked on by the Metapod, and who was neglected by Eli, suddenly jumped in front of the scratch for her new "companion" and took the attack for her super weak friend. That was very unexpected and the Metapod appreciated it as it gave him one more turn against the Pansear. The Wurmple then smiled and nodded her head, she was of good help today and she enjoyed being able to assist her friend. That was very nice of her to take a blast for her teammate but she didn't mind too much. The problem was, the blast scraped her hard and she was unable to attack this turn. And the Metapod was just as weak and he too could not move. Well, it seemed Eli and his Pansear bought themselves another turn. ::Wurmple:: Level 5, Female Shield Dust Tackle|String Shot|Poison Sting Personality: New-born, has trouble speaking, cries a lot. Eli watched on as the Wurmple jumped in and took the full brunt of Pansear's Scratch attack and gave the Metapod an extra turn to recover. Eli knew now was the perfect time to give Pansear the potion. Eli had in his hand the potion that he was going to use to heal Pansear. He looked as Pansear was tired, he pulled off the cap of the Potion and started to spray it all over Pansear. It seemed to have a strange healing effect on it's wounds and it was like a lifeline in this battle. [Potion used]. Eli stood watching his Pansear suddenly become alot healthier then before and felt like he was able to win the battle. Now Pansear was ready to keep on fighting, but Eli didn't want it to attack this turn as it would let the pair of little bug Pokémon take another attack on it. The pair of insects glanced into each others eyes. Both were unsure of themselves and the world around them. Metapod was a bit cowardly, and Wurmple was young and needed the same reassurance that all babies craved. "We'll work together." Metapod told the young Wurmple and they both decided that it was a good idea, they sealed the deal with a nod. Both insects squirmed towards the Pansear while a potion was being used. Pansear had only just been healed by Eli and now the two pokemon were trying a barrage attack on it. They were starting to team up. That's exactly what Eli didn't want, he knew he needed it to be a 1 on 1 battle. Unluckily for Eli both Wurmple's Tackle and Metapod's Tackle had successfully hit Pansear. The battle was starting to sway fully in their favor. So Eli wondered if he was to maybe go and pick Wurmple up inside his backpack it might turn the tide of the battle. But that would potentially be cruelty. So he just decided to say. "Pansear use Leer on Metapod and Scratch on Metapod. It should be almost fainted." Pansear readied itself as it knew the orders it had been given. Now was the time for Eli to distract the little Wurmple so it would get it's sights off the battle. Pansear was running with as Eli hoped he could master both attacks he had been given. Eli had beaten Pansear over to the bug pokemon and now he was trying to distract Wurmple by running around it to confuse it. The Metapod saw the leer coming and then was instantly struck with an incoming scratch that made him fall to the floor and faint unfortunately. He had a very long battle with his opponent, but in the end, it was simply too much for him as he fell on the spot and fainted. Good thing his cowardice couldn't come out at this specific moment... But the bad thing was that, well, he was unconscious. The Wurmple also wasn't much help as it was instantly distrcted by Eli who began to run in circles around her. It made her a bit dizzy, scared, and instantly she started to fall on her butt and start crying. >I just want my mommy! Waaaaaahhhhhh!< She cried on the floor as loud as she could... Eli stood as he watched Pansear hit it's combo successfully. He wanted the shiny Metapod and now was the time to try and capture it. But Eli felt a suspicion that Wurmple would jump in, and he could hear something heading towards Pansear and Eli. It sounded quite wicked, but Eli tried not to get distracted as he said, "Pansear, use Leer and Scratch on the unknown pokemon approaching us" Pansear didn't have a clue what it was attacking, but it knew it was worth a shot. They had heard deep footsteps and Eli wasn't taking any chances with another pokemon coming. Pansear just stood waiting until it showed up so it could use it's combo moves. Eli unzipped his bag and grabbed out a pokeball. He zipped it back up and threw it towards Metapod. Eli then picked up Wurmple and started to pat it. He knew if he could get it away from the battle it wouldn't know Eli was trying to capture Metapod. [/blockquote][/blockquote] Snuggled up safely in Eli's arms, Wurmple seemed to be soothed momentarily. The poisonous Pokémon made sure to keep her stinger away from the human's squishy flesh. After all, she didn't want to kill her newfound friend! <Thank you...> she mumbled, eyes fluttering shut. She was drowsy now, from all of her earlier crying.
The orb connected with Metapod, but split open again after just one shake. Pokeball rolled back to the trainer, laying useless on the ground.
Thump. Thump. Thump. Rattle. An approaching Pokémon caused stones on the path to rumble and vibrate from it's sheer power. It was in the bushes, eyes narrowed and red. It licked it's lips - that wurmple would make a fine meal!
<I believe you have my supper!> growled the menacing Pokémon. Tongue darted out from between it's dripping fangs, panting. It needed to feast, and that trainer would NOT get in it's way!
