ooc: O hi. I might be an admin, but don't be scared of me. x'D You might want to PM me though if you plan on jumping in without a warning.
bic:
"Come on, dig a little! Find anything, you give them to me!" A bulky hiker laughed as he forced a shovel into Susumu's arms, bewildering him as he was practically robbed of all of his Pokemon, save for one. He chose to keep Ken for this digging trip simply because hello, rocks belonged in caves. The Geodude just seemed like the perfect bro for the job, so no problems there. Both Pokémon and trainer couldn't help but run away from the fat older man though, both a bit unnerved by that creepy, 'friendly' nature.
<Oy, Captain. What'r we doin' down in these dumps?> Ken couldn't help but ask, looking up at his trainer curiously. As Susumu's second Pokémon owned ever, he couldn't help but feel as if he was entrusted with some kind of special job. There was a reason he didn't bring the newbies, after all!
"Phew. I know, its dark out here." Susumu commented, hearing his voice echo down the tunnels along with the constant sound of picks against the cave's walls. They weren't the only ones down here, after all. Ken couldn't help but scoff at the comment-- his human truly didn't understand him at all. Still, he nodded in agreement with the comment.
"This looks like a good spot. Mega Punch that wall, then I'll pick at it." He grinned, feeling the dust settling in the air flowing all over him. The Geodude seemed bored with the command, but followed through with a weak Mega Punch at the wall. It hardly cracked, but oh well. Susumu went in with the pick axe for a more thorough job, making some of the wall weaken slightly.

The arcanine glowed from the use of a morning sun, her fur turning luminescent, barely lighting their path. Next time, he might take Ryuuku along. The fire on his tail would be quite useful, in this situation. But the flying pokemon did not want to even step foot in the underground area.
But the mining helmets. Blaze has a tiny smirk on his face as he walked. Hades had used an Iron Tail earlier, destabilizing the tunnel. He had been lucky and avoided any cave-ins, but his partner was hit by a rather large piece of the ceiling. Not wanting to get involved, Blaze left him there to find another area to mine in.
It was a pleasant surprise to see another familiar face. Babyface! he wanted to call out, but that would be rude. Maybe he should just be civil, polite, and make this encounter a pleasant one for the two of them.
"Mind if we join you?" he asked loudly, so the sound of the digging didn't drown out his words. Hades moved forward a bit to examine the cracked wall, before testing her claws on them. They left marks, but definitely did not weaken it.

With the sound of the pick axe against the rocky wall and Ken's punch of rock meeting rock, footsteps were hard to hear in this place. Susumu hadn't quite worked up a sweat just yet, but it was a bit hot and dry down here. It was a good thing he had a good water supply, or else he'd just get dizzy from exhausting himself. Ken was built for it though, and Susumu knew off the bat that the Geodude would have more stamina for digging than he ever would.
Someone came up from the side though in a loud enough voice, making the caves echo and wild Zubat scurry above Susumu and Blaze's heads in fright. At first he looked at Blaze in surprise, but then ducked because he seriously didn't expect a bunch of Zubats to get that close to them. They weren't hurting them at least, and instead just flew further down the tunnels. Well, ok. He carefully stood back up straight, while Ken snickered from the ground. He was way too low to even be threatened by such weak flyers, and seeing his trainer get frazzled was always funny.
"Yeah, go right ahead. Can't get any shards without another person anyways." He smiled invitingly at Grumpyface, moving just a bit out of the way so maybe they could work at the same part of the wall. Ken looked up at Hades, admiring her muscles for a second before going back to the wall. Looking at his own muscles, he didn't quite compare. He used another Mega Punch on the wall, at least trying to make a dent in it.

He hadn't expected it and totally cringed more than he wanted it. He quickly composed himself once he realized that they were just harmless zubats, pretending he never quite lost his poise. It would be just unbecoming of him to look like some coward in the eyes of Babyface. Although, the other man couldn't say much either. Shamu had ducked as well.
Blaze still had the shovel he had found in the other area of the mines and tested the wall a bit. Hard as rock, but definitely promising, as the surface seemed to shimmer with an incandescent glow.
"Let's get digging, then," he said, scrapping the shovel on the side of the cave, making quite an ugly sound. "Hades, Iron Tail." Hopefully, the ceiling was more sturdy here, and it would hold better. The arcanine gave him a look, wondering if he was quite sure if he wanted to make another section cave in. Her trainer was not retracting his command, though, so she concentrated her power to her large tail, the fibres hardening until it was like iron, and then slammed it into the wall.
If the zubats hadn't already flown away, the shock would have done it. Blaze tried to stand strong, though his eyes were on the ceiling, wondering if a crack would form, if it would show signs of caving in. The much harder stone held tight, though, and he let out the breath he didn't even know he was holding. The shovel he was holding, both hands on the hilt, hit the side of the wall. It started to chip, some small pieces falling off.

Susumu shouldn't of been too surprised that Blaze also ducked, but for some reason he thought the guy was this giant scary dude that just kicked the shit out of anything that came near him. Well, that's the vibe he kind of got. He supposed that Blaze was as normal as most humans though, as he gave the fire master a sideways glance while digging. Nice to learn something everyday, but he just hoped he didn't learn more than he wanted. When Hades used her iron tail on the wall, he literally felt his own pick axe vibrating from the force.
Ken even seemed impressed, trembling a little like the rocks in the wall the fire type just demolished. They still had a lot of digging to get through before they got to the precious jewels inside, but Susumu had a hunch they were going to get quite a bit. "Anything you saving up for in particular?" He asked, referring to the shards.
Honestly he wasn't all that sure himself. He had the evolutionary stones he needed, but he liked to look at the TMs and HMs from time to time. He just didn't know quite what he wanted at this point.

Not only did he have to show off, just a bit, to Susumu and work hard, but he also had to had to be able to keep his composure and not pant like a dying poochyena before he left the ruins. But the rocks were hard, and unless he but his whole body weight into each shovel, it was quite difficult to progress forward. (This is what he got from doing paperwork, day in day out.)
So he tried to keep his breathing even and worked, digging not as fast as he could have, but focussing his attention on the task, looking quite intent. Shamu's words seemed to snap him out of focus for a bit, interrupting the rhythm he had going on. Blaze thought about it for a moment. Why did he want the shards? "TMs," he said. "Having a wide arsenal of unpredictable attacks is important." The answer satisfied him, and he nodded just a little bit at his own words, as if to confirm his conviction. His foot slammed onto the back of the shovel, driving it into the ground before wriggling the dirt and rock loose. Hades had started to claw on the walls which were just a bit softer, digging into the cracks that had formed from her previous attack. The sound was quite shrill, and Blaze had to grit his teeth to not cringe at them.
"What about you?" he asked the blond trainer. Shards weren't too easy to acquire, but the riches that could be traded for them were quite interesting.

Ugh ok, so maybe he was getting tired. He glanced over at Blaze to see how he was holding up, and he had this weird look of determination. Strange, Susumu had no idea the leader enjoyed this kind of thing so passionately. Missing the point entirely, he kept hacking away at the wall as Ken went after it with punch after punch. The conditions down here weren't all that pleasant to say the very least, and to think of the effort of walking out of here...well, let's just say he was willing to pay the fee to ride back out with the mine cart. Hit after hit after hit. At least the rocky wall had a dent in it, but it looks as if someone had made a little effort here previously before giving up. He half wondered if it was pointless, but shrugged.
Wasn't mining like fishing? Sometimes you got a bite, sometimes you didn't? Eh, he wasn't going to say that thought out loud. He nodded at what Blaze said, agreeing with the prize in question. "Yeah, I was thinking about the TMs myself. I don't know which ones I want in particular though." Why of course, he had most of the explosion tms that he needed. Ken could just learn the move naturally, and then they were all good.
"I heard from some people." He grunted from the work "that shards were worth more than actual cash." he panted, stopping to wipe some of the sweat off of his brow. Phew, if it wasn't so dry down here, with summer approaching...well, it would be a lot more enjoyable. Maybe that Hiker guy could hire waitresses to come down here and sell lemonade. Wait no, that wouldn't happen. It was dangerous down here, right? Think straight, Susumu! "Having some on hand has to be a good idea, at the very least." As much as he liked having a lot of cash on him, shards were definitely valuable. You just had to earn them, which was what stopped some people.

He had only been digging for a little bit and his muscles were already starting to ache, telling him that his lack of physical exercise was starting to catch up to him. He took a little breather, leaning on the shovel while trying not to take too deep of breaths. Hades took this opportunity to use another Iron Tail on the walls, making the area shake and tiny chips of rock and its dust falling onto them. Blaze took a deep breath once the dust settled and then dug the metal portion of the spade hard into the wall. It had been loosened by the pokemon's attack, and he was surprised to see the portion falling out to reveal quite an impressive gem. The shard was glistening, shining, beckoning.
Minuscle.
"Perhaps this is why they are worth so much. All this work for not much at all," he said, still digging around it to try and extract the gem. Of course, the other reason for the expensive nature of these shards was the Hiker. Team Death had tried to monopolize the market, but this Hiker managed to do something, interrupting their supplies. Now, he was the one that received the expensive TMs, and with the machines being so rare, so fragile, but so sought after, it was natural that the market value would go up. He was trying to get his hands on some extra TMs, but so far the suppliers didn't seem to want anything to do with TD.

Harry and Fang approached the cave entrance, Harry wondered what the heck a cave was doing in the middle of nowhere. Suddenly a large hiker walked up to him and laughed in front of Harry and Fang.
"I see you found the mine, boy! So I'm guessing you want to find shards then, right?" Harry look confused. "Oh you don't know? Well then let me explain, this mine has shards in it. These shards are extremely valuable to me, and if you get enough of them I will reward you with rare and expensive items!"
"Alright. Will it cost anything? I don't have that much money on me."
"It won't cost a thing! So do you want to try?" After a few seconds Harry nodded. The hiker gave a case and a pick axe to Harry "All the the things you'll find are to be put the case. Have fun!" Harry and Fang entered the small cave, it was extremely dark inside, Harry took out his pokedex and used it as a makeshift flash light.
After entering the cave a group of zubats flew towards Harry, he was surprised but ducked in time and continued on his way. After awhile he saw two other people mining with their pokemon, he approached them "Hey, can someone help me mine for these...uh shards? I'm kind of new here."

Susumu blinked when he saw Blaze bend over to pick at something in the wall, wondering if he got a shard already. It sure looked like it, and he frowned. Of course, as a leader, Blaze had to get all of the luck in the world. Luck, skill, talent, power. Him and Syl had all of those things, though he wasn't all that sure about the brains department with the real boss. He looked back at the wall to see it looking as empty as ever, and he sighed. Ken also seemed to sense the situation and breifly rubbed his rocky hands together, trying to soothe the pain they felt from the constant punching. "No breaks, just work a little at a time." Susumu suggested, thinking that maybe they weren't pacing themselves the way they should have.
Then some loud kid came down with a Trapinch, looking eager for help with the mines. He seemed overly friendly, and Susumu just gave Blaze this warning look because it caught him off guard. The guy didn't seem to want to dig in a smaller group, which was kind of annoying, but he figured that maybe this was an opportunity. "Yeah, sure thing greenhorn." He nodded, motioning for Harry to dig to the right of him.
Ken looked at the Trapinch suspiciously, before turning to the wall. It looked a lot weaker than him, which in turn, made it so so so much weaker than the scary Arcanine beating the crap out of the wall. He huffed, facing the wall and not wanting to be considered a wimp because he might've worked too fast. Aiming another punch at the wall, the Geodude smacked a good chip out of the hard exterior. "Basically, just dig. Destroy the wall. It is our natural enemy." He advised, seeing that Harry had that 'scared new kid' look on him.

"Heh..." Harry started swing the pick at the wall, it chipped a little bit. As he was digging through the wall he started thinking "I may be butting in on these two, I wouldn't have come here if I known that I was going to be a bother, well since I'm here I may as well work with them." After about a few minutes of digging Harry made some small talk with the 2 others. "Oh, I should have told you my name, it's Harry and ah....thanks for letting me mine with you guys."

Some inexperienced, poor little sod, probably. He kind of wanted to just tell him to scram, as he didn't need anyone slowing them down, and he definitely did not want an intruder. But Susumu, being the good person he was, invited the other trainer, and Blaze lose his opportunity to deny him access. Instead, he gave the blond a look, before the other trainer talked again. Harry, was it? His pokemon seemed quite inexperienced. Probably a newborn, with not much strength.
He was going to say something, but Hades stopped him by gently nudging him, making it almost seem like an accident. Be nice, she meant, stopping her digging for just a bit to convey her message. Ever the gentle pokemon, Blaze bit his tongue and continued to dig. "Blaze," he said, speaking his own name.

Harry introduced himself and got to work quickly, probably helping to make the mining experience a lot easier for them all, even though he was getting worried about the possible questions coming his way. Blaze gave him a warning look too and he shrugged. He didn't see too much harm in it if they never ran into him ever again, as there were way too many people in Cheyenne for that to happen. Screw the 'it's a small world' rule, it didn't apply anymore. He was thinking that maybe they were going to go around and fake names, but Blaze actually gave his legit name. Now that was weird. Where was the fun of that? The experience was getting to him, but he felt a bit encouraged when his axe struck something. A few shards tumbled out, hinting that more were to come from the mother load. Ken's eyes widened with excitement at the find, and held them up into the light to get a good look at them.
<So this is what we need?> He asked, since this was his first time doing this. Susumu grinned at the Geodude, not understanding him, but kind of getting the confused look and gesture to the shiny stone. "Don't break it, we're gonna need that." Then that was settled. They knew the goal was within reach, and it was exciting to say the very least. This was starting to become a rewarding experience, actually.
"Susumu's the name." He finally said, after considering giving a fake name he decided it wasn't worth it in the long run. It would be conflicting if a bunch of people knew him by different names and started to talk. The pair were getting tired from the digging, but he considered taking a break. He did bring some lemonade down with him, but there wasn't enough for everybody...just for him and Ken.

He had introduced himself to the boy, and then the other had just... ran away... and... left. Maybe he had come on too strong, maybe he was just a bit too aggressive, even though he had tried to be approachable. Or something.
But hey, good riddance. He did not care for a lot of people, especially those that are just so inexperienced, it hurt. It didn't stop Hades from not-so-gently flinging a bit of the debris onto his leg as she dug. Obviously, it had to be his fault. Didn't the pokemon consider that perhaps Susumu's the one that had scared the boy away with a moving lump of rock?
Shards were being found as they dug, and that was a good sign. Taking his own shovel, he took aim at a section of the wall that looked a bit different, a bit shinier and quite smooth. He struck it onto the wall and it felt like he had just punched a rock. Hard, making his whole body lurch a bit uncomfortably. His face scrunched up in pain and he was vibrating. And it hurt. Oh god it hurt, and there was absolutely no reward for that pain. The wall didn't budge, barely even made a mark.
Note to self. When the wall looks harder than normally, it is hard.
Dropping the shovel and shaking his hand out a little bit, he took a little break. The silence between the two men was uncomfortable, though. He felt as if he had to say something to fill it, yet being the one to say anything would make it rather awkward as well.
He just wanted to get his shards and leave.

Oh yes, the shards were starting to come out now. Susumu took out the hammer that was provided in that kit and one giant nail, crouching down on his knees to get a better look at the dirt wall. The pick axe had forced some cracks into the hard earth, but they were going to need a little more power. At least that's what his brain told him, so he stuck the nail in one of the cracks and started to gently hammer it. Seeing it actually do something, he pounded it harder than before. It put a lot less pressure on his back at the very least, and he seemed to be getting somewhere in the wall. He hardly noticed that the first guy left, seeing that this work was just mind draining in the first place, but he did notice when Blaze stopped to take a break for a bit.
Yeah, a break actually sounded really good. Couldn't they just make the Pokemon dig because they were built for this sort of thing? One was a giant dog that probably buried these Charizard sized bones in mountains, while the other was literally a moving rock that could break even more rocks. It was a pretty good combination in his mind, if that mattered at all. Looking at Ken that was mildly tired, then back at Blaze, well, he had a thought. He stopped to rummage into his bag, taking out both of the lemonades and offering one to Blaze.
"Digging in the summer was not one of the best ideas I've ever had." He admitted, even if they were underground and hot air rose. This was exhausting, and the conditions really could've been better. He opened up his own can and started to sip it quickly, not even realizing how thirsty he was when it went down his throat with an instant refreshing sensation. Ken just dug.

He usually carried the bare minimum and figured it out as he went. He had pockets, but no bags, and so only the essentials stayed with him -- pokeballs and a bit of food to last him long enough until he got to another town. Water wasn't quite in the equation, and it was starting to cost him. The sweat he was losing made him feel more parched as he went on, but he refused to show any signs of weakness. The shards were coming out now, so it was only a matter of time before they were out of here and he would gorge himself. He was more worried for Hades, but she didn't seem to be feeling the heat -- as a fire pokemon, she was used to it.
He glanced over as Susumu, who had stopped digging in favour of water. Smart kid. He turned away and took a few breaths, willing himself to keep them steady and strong. Hades alternated between using Iron Tail to soften the rock up before her claws could dig through the walls and seemed to be making progress as shards started to slowly but surely accumulate. Well, more slowly than surely, but they were getting there. His throat was dry but he swallowed a bit of spit and called it a day. He'd suffered worse.
"It'd be worse in the winter, where the walls have all frozen over," he said in response to the boy's words. However, he certainly wouldn't say no to a small gust of winter chill. His clothes were starting to stick on him and it did not look attractive. "Let's just hurry up and get out of here soon. We should be getting ready for the coup, anyways."

Oh whoa, a bunch of shards came out in tiny pieces with that last punch! Some were broken and useless though, stupid Ken. If his level was higher and if he was more experienced, then maybe he'd be able to keep more shards in tact. He was still better than most trained Pokemon in the region though, so Susumu couldn't really complain about that. Still, as he drank some more on his break, he couldn't help but feel irritated at the Geodude's recklessness. What was wrong with that boy, acting so painfully rough to appear more macho? Though to be fair, he might've forced the Geodude into that phase when he was in his health craze at the gym. Lifting weights and stuff near the Pokemon probably helped to make that happen...but Susumu didn't get the chance to really do that kind of stuff these days, so seeing Ken with that attitude really made him wonder about the mental effects of being in that environment. Aye aye aye.
Blaze was still digging, which he expected from such a strong TD member. He sighed, figuring that he should get off of his butt now before he got judged like the lazyass he really was. It hurt to stand back up with his feet feeling so sore from all of this work, but he was really trying to push himself this time. Wiping some of the sweat off of his forehead, he picked up that hammer and went back to work in crushing the walls. Ken smirked, stopping as Susumu took over to rub his fists briefly. After all, punching something so hard for so long took effort and energy. <Ugh, almost done right?> The Geodude asked his trainer, who didn't respond, but from the look on his face he was getting more excited with each shard that came out.
This was going to be a good haul, at least he thought so. Thinking over Blaze's words, he frowned at the thought of dealing with frozen walls. "You're probably right...don't think it would be a problem for you and your fire types though." He chuckled, noticing how hard of a worker the Arcanine was. Blaze must've trained her pretty well if she was so docile and tame like that. "Yeah, you're right. Any time now, there'll be a landslide of shards." Exaggerated of course, but he was hopeful to see all of those sparkly jewels soon!
