Now was it just Seamus, or was that Pachirisu actually using a cellphone? He paused to pick up the discarded item to see if it was usable at all, with Drillbur in pursuit of the Pachirisu, and he started to toy around with some of the buttons. If there was a chance, maybe it was still usable. Besides, who did this belong to anyways? ”If all else fails, there’s the lost and found.” He decided, even though he would’ve liked to gain a bit of cash from it. Some people paid to get junk phones to have the fun of taking one apart in an attempt to fix it. Not something he would do, but the option was out there. First he tried to turn the device on in order to see if it was still working.
Kindle was still tightly clinging to Seamus’s shoulder, looking at the phone in curiosity. He wanted to follow the Drillbur though! Why were they looking at this boring thing when they could be with all of the action? His tail rampaged behind him, lashing at the back of Seamus’s neck and making the trainer’s eye twitch. Yes, yes, Seamus knew there was a chase, but he wasn’t physically able to keep up with them. The Drillbur was going to have to bring the electric type back to him, where he could figure out what was going on.
Still, he wandered through the city in an attempt to go in the direction after them. The signs of a scuffle filled the area, so he had a feeling this was the right way to go. The Drillbur was clever enough to knock things down occasionally, leaving a trail for Seamus and Kindle to follow as he chased after the Pachirisu. <You know, I’ve had it with this running.> He panted, snapping his claws together for a Hone Claws to boost his accuracy. It was then that he slid against the ground, kicking up a Mud Slap to try and mark the electric type with a bunch of mud. <Just stop.> He grumbled, feeling a bit worn out from the chase.

Either the Kabuto heard the Pachirisu and helped out, or just simply luck happened as the incoming mud slap hit a different pokemon instead and allowed Pachirisu just enough time to escape and run away. It was probably the Kabuto's plan as the Pachirisu simply knew too much, he could contact the Kabuto so he must have known the location. That was too much of a risk right now so another pokemon was sent in for backup. This one quickly looked at the Drilbur after getting blinded momentarily by the mud slap and angrily responded by letting out a big yawn at the ground type. >Watch where you are shooting things!< He said angrily after getting hit in the face by the mud. Hopefully the yawn would teach the Drilbur a lesson... At the meantime, while Seamus kept trying to use the cell phone, it just made no attempt to turn on at all. It seemed the spark had broken the phone. So lost and found it must be... ::Pachirisu:: Level 20 | Male Attacks: Growl, Bide, Quick Attack, Spark, Charm, Endure Personality: Works for the Kabuto actually. Seamus looked at the phone with a sigh, useless thing. To the lost and found then, he thought with a dreary look towards some of the empty alleyways. It was definitely starting to get quieter out here. Like this was the poor area where no one liked to walk around in fear of getting mugged. Luckily he had some experience in the area, plus no one generally thought of messing with a creepy looking old man like him in the first place. He cracked his neck from side to side before slipping the cellphone somewhere where he could take it out easily again.
He could hear some kind of a scuffle going on in the distance, so he walked his way over casually, with Kindle lightly gripping his sleeves with worry for the Drillbur's safety. What had happened was something both odd and surprising. The Mud Slap hit the wrong target! The Drillbur took a step backwards, gritting his teeth when the Pachirisu got away. That was useless, and all because this guy got in the way. <S-Sorry.> He stuttered, despite being frustrated at himself and generally angry at everything.
"Over there." Seamus nodded to Kindle, reaching the scene with a heavy breath. Why was the Drillbur fighting a...what was it? He quickly opened up his suitcase to take out a Pokedex, scanning the creature in front of him as he rested on the ground. A Gulpin, a poison type. The Yawn hit the Drillbur from the looks of it, and according to the device, he was going to be forced to sleep in a turn. The Pokedex also revealed some information on what moves the Drillbur knew, so he decided to give it a shot ordering him around.
"Drillbur, use Hone Claws and Fury Swipes." He advised, knowing he would definitely be out of it in a turn. The Drillbur yawned back, dreamily looking over to Seamus and Kindle, then back to the Gulpin. Who was this again? Why was he fighting? Oh, who cares. As long as he was still awake, he might as well do something. He rubbed his claws together, making them sharper and easier to use. He held in another yawn as he dreamily charged at the Gulpin, not even knowing what he was doing when he slashed at the poison type multiple times.

What a lazy pokemon he was... He made absolutely no motion at all to dodge the fury swipes that came, and when he was struck three times by it, he simply went back to yawning all over again. It was almost as if he was ready to fall asleep with the Drilbur... He yawned again as he saw that the Drilbur was getting sleepier and sleepier, ready to fall asleep instantly and immediately he began to dump as much sludge as he can to the Drilbur before he simply just stood there and bought his time. He wasn't meant for battling, nor did he have any motivation to keep this up at all. He just wanted to sleep... And sleep more... And then sleep again and again! ::Gulpin:: (-1 accuracy) Level 23 | Male Attacks: Pound, Yawn, Poison Gas, Amnesia, Sludge, Encore Personality: Works for the Kabuto but on the lower totem pole. The sleepy Drillbur had fully executed the blows against the Gulpin, but he felt as if he was in this strange metaphysical state, as if everything that was happening was something that he was watching out of his body. From above, as if someone else was controlling his body as he yawned after the final scratch. He was right about to sleep, but the Gulpin had lobbed some sludge on him. His body seemed to have some kind of immunity to the substance, since it didn’t do too much damage. He scratched a little at the spots that burned from the poison before sinking down to sleep.
Seamus and Kindle looked at the Drillbur with a surprised look, yet Seamus had seen this coming. It was so sudden and wild, that he didn’t think that it would fall asleep while being attacked. He didn’t like something about this, even though he used this kind of battle tactic all of the time with paralysis. Silly Drillbur, completely asleep. How was he supposed to handle this now, especially when the Pachirisu, one of their few leads, had ditched the scene?
<Drillbur! Drillbur!> Kindle cried, one of his first words that he ever learned, as he hopped down from the ground with the Kabuto shell still on his head. He looked on at the ground type with a pitiful expression, wanting him to get up. The Gulpin looked strong and scary, like some kind of monster out of the closet. He looked a lot like his image of the boogeyman, and he wanted no part of that battle.

The Gulpin slowly began to clap his hands continually at the Drilbur after it had fallen asleep. Giving it a failed encore but still an encore nonetheless. He liked watching the pokemon sleep, it was peaceful and not harming him at all. He wasn't a fighter himself so when the Drillbur just suddenly hit him for no good reason, he was angry. But now that the pokemon was asleep, there was no need to be angry anymore and frantically, no need to stay anymore either. The Gulpin started to turn the other way and started to take his exit as there was absolutely no need to stay in this area anymore. He had nothing to gain, and no reason to hang around anymore... Maybe it was time for a change of scenery? There is a common saying that when one searches really hard for something, he usually won't find it. But the minute they stop searching, it'd be right there waiting for them... ::Gulpin:: (-1 accuracy) Level 23 | Male Attacks: Pound, Yawn, Poison Gas, Amnesia, Sludge, Encore Personality: Works for the Kabuto but on the lower totem pole. Seamus and Kindle recognized the Encore attack, but it wouldn’t do anything in this kind of situation. The Hoppip flinched, thinking that he would be attacked next, yet nothing happened to him. Peeking an eye open through the limited vision of the shell, he saw the frightening Gulpin slither away as if nothing major had happened. With Drillbur sleeping like a baby in the middle of the alleyway he whimpered, moving right up to the Drillbur and attempting to shake him awake. <Drill! Bur!> He threw the shell off of him, jumping up and down on the ground type’s belly with an upset frown. Why wasn’t he waking up? So stubborn!
Seamus rubbed his chin thoughtfully, deciding that perhaps they had lost their chance to catch up with the Kabuto. It would probably be better to rest up and regroup, and perhaps they would get more information that way. ”Come on Drillbur.” He sighed, picking up the ground type in one arm and his suitcase in the other. It was a heavy load, but he thought he could manage until they went somewhere safer. Kindle grabbed his shell and waddled next to Seamus with a curious look, wondering what they were gonna do next.
Seamus didn’t say anything, but he was wondering where they should go for the time being. The Pokemon Center was kind of far off, which he noted when he was back on one of the main streets. It seemed to be approaching the early evening, since his hands were too filled up at the moment to check the time. There was a restaurant nearby that allowed Pokemon, but it looked too crowded to go in. Instead he took a quieter route down onto the beach, which had a lot less people. He let the Drillbur rest on the sand as he took out a small towel and spread it out on the sand. There, now he could sit and not get sand anywhere.
<Drillbur!> Kindle pleaded, looking at the sleeping Drillbur’s face as he continued to rest. Seamus poked the Hoppip’s tail that was trailing out of the shell, grabbing his attention. When the Hoppip looked up at the older man’s face, Seamus shook his head with a ‘no’ signal. Kindle frowned, looking on at the Drillbur with concern. He was ok, right?

This time it was a second white rodent, another Pachirisu. He was standing on top of a railing that separated the beach from the sidewalk. She was sitting on the railing below him and both were watching the trainer with utmost intensity. Everything said was a hushed whisper, and only the male spoke. The female would reluctantly nod in agreement with him, but she didn't seem fully supportive of everything that he said. "This trainer is trouble Pachi! We need to do something." Nod nod. "He's too close to the boss now... maybe we could lead him off in the wrong direction?" Nod nod. She pointed to him and then to the left, and then she pointed at herself and to the right. He grinned. "Split up? Alright!" He jumped down from the railing and purposely ran past Seamus, trying to draw his attention and take him further down the beach, and away from Kabuto.
The female sighed, happy to have gotten rid of the annoying male. A few seconds later she tried making a few chirping noises at the trainer, if he was still around and hadn't gone chasing the male. Even though she was not able to speak, she could still make some noises it seemed. She waved her tail around, made sparks at her cheeks, anything to get his attention while she slowly began to walk further down the beach and towards Kabuto. She'd teach the fossil a lesson for ripping her tongue out!

The Drillbur was starting to stir after his long rest on the beach, and Seamus let out a tiny smile as Kindle started to nudge at the Drillbur's body. The little Hoppip only wanted the Drillbur to wake up before it was bed time, it was so early to go to bed! He was not ready at all and he wanted to play a lot lot more. The Drillbur yawned as he sat upright, shaking his head as if he had some sort of headache from the yawn. He was clearly still drowsy, but it was enough for Kindle. <Drillbur!> Kindle cheered, hopping right into the ground type's lap, surprising him as he was nearly knocked over from the weight of the shell.
"Waking up, huh?" Seamus commented, smiling a little when he noticed how the Drillbur was having such a hard time adjusting to the evening light. The Drillbur seemed to scoff at the comment, but he ended up yawning again. Clearly waking up would be an issue without a cup of joe. Shame he didn't have any on him. The evening was being relatively uneventful, but all of a sudden a Pachirisu ran right past Seamus. It was too fast for Kindle to see, and the Drillbur was still half asleep.
"Huh. I didn't think those were common around here." He noted, oddly not chasing after it. He couldn't tell Pachirisu apart, and he'd be damned if he was going to go around chasing random squirrels just because the Drillbur decided to go chase after a random wild one. After that one ran off, another one appeared and made odd sounds, much different from the last one. A female from what he could tell, since even her body looked different from the male's. Differences in genders he supposed.
"What's up?" He asked gently, before noticing something wrong with her speech pattern. Did she have some kind of mouth injury? She didn't open up wide enough for him to tell, but she was lucky not to have any kind of infection from such a wound. <Hm? She wants us to...follow.> The Drillbur muttered, holding the Hoppip in his arms as he motioned for Seamus to follow with his head. He didn't understand her language, and he was half asleep, but he could understand body language.
"Follow her? I can do that I suppose." He sighed, slipping the towel back into it's normal bag as he got back up again with an annoyed sigh. He felt overdressed in this kind of weather, but he was not going to walk around in shorts and a short-sleeved shirt. It felt unprofessional. He followed the group of Pokemon, not entirely sure of what was going on, but he trusted their instincts for some reason.

As the pair began to follow the female Pachirisu, they would soon see in the near distance a tiny shell moving around. It was most likely the fossil pokemon. Congrats! They seem to have finally found the fossil pokemon. The female Pachirisu continued to lead them toward the fossil pokemon, hoping to give it a little beating for what it did to her. But the minute he spotted them, he quickly dug himself under the sand and escaped from the scene. Too bad, this was the closest they ever got to the Kabuto and all of a sudden it just disappears like that. Even worst, knowing the betrayal of the left hand woman, the Kabuto would definitely seek revenge. Protect the Pachirisu or she might not be alive much longer. She herself even knew this when she reached the sand and saw the Kabuto disappear. Shivering uncontrollably and weeping uncontrollably, she knew her life is probably coming to an end soon. ::Pachirisu:: Level 20 | Female Attacks: Growl, Bide, Quick Attack, Spark, Charm, Endure Personality: Also works for Kabuto. There it was! The mean Kabuto that they had been searching for all of this time! The only problem was that it had dug into the sand the minute they spotted it, and Drillbur was not about to let it get away. He seemed to wake up from the adrenaline rush and made his way over to the spot, using a furious Dig attack to try and reach the Kabuto to gain a sense of direction. Any idea at all would help them out. Seamus could tell that it looked pointless, but didn't say anything. If the Drillbur could catch a scent or any clue, that would possibly be of use, otherwise it seemed futile.
Kindle clung to Seamus's arm while the shell was draped over him for protection, and he couldn't help but look at the crying Pachirisu with pity. It seemed that she was like him and couldn't talk either, but something about it seemed hopeless. Like she couldn't learn to talk, and that she was different. He wanted to say something, but oh he had no idea what the word was! He started to squirm impatiently as Seamus tightened his grip on the Hoppip, refusing to let him stray too far with the mad Pokemon roaming around.
"We were close. Really close. He can't be far at all." Seamus said, convinced that there was some way of tracking downt he Kabuto, not paying too much attention to the Pachirisu's reaction. The Drillbur was much more sympathetic, and as he dug up clumps of sand he poked his head out of the hole he dug. <Don't you dare fret, I might've lost against that Kabuto by myself, but we're in numbers now. He can't get us.> He nodded determinedly, hoping it would cheer her up a bit. <You should stick with us. Maybe hide in his jacket or something.> He suggested, figuring Seamus could deal with it.

While digging under the spot that the Kabuto disappeared from, the Drilbur unfortunately could not find anything at all. There were a bit piss stains and a little bit of droppings around (possibly not even the Kabuto's), but besides that there was absolutely nothing else that could even possibly signal where the pokemon went. The Pachirisu though was still a bit shaken up after the turn of events and she quickly kept her head down until the Drilbur dug out of a hole and startled her. Instantly she thought the Kabuto came to attack her but when it was the Drilbur she tried to calm down a bit. The problem was, when the Drilbur finished speaking, she quickly did not agree with it and instantly started to run away as fast as she could. She didn't trust that anyone can take down the Kabuto, so she didn't risk it at all. She simply left the scene, with tears dripping in the sand. Now that the Pachirisu was gone, what will Seamus and the Drilbur do? ::Pachirisu:: Level 20 | Female Attacks: Growl, Bide, Quick Attack, Spark, Charm, Endure Personality: Also works for Kabuto. The Drillbur frowned when she ran off, realizing that it was already too late to chase after her. She had disappeared somewhere so fast that his eyes could hardly track her, and he was left to worry with what would happen next. He shook his head as he got back out of the hole, finding nothing of importance that could really help them find that pesty Kabuto. It clearly had to be stopped, and humans seemed to be experts at taking Pokemon away from the wild, so he hoped Seamus could at least chase it off. Anything at all, this was too much for him.
What were they dealing with here exactly? A Pachirisu that acted suspicious about the Kabuto, even running away when they tried to talk to him about it. There was the female that led them away from the same male, before she also ran off. She couldn’t talk either, so the Drillbur wondered if the Kabuto was connected to that as well. Then he had no clue about the Gulpin, but it seemed to be nothing more of a coincidence than anything. They all ran off before they could really talk or fight with them. Lots of distractions.
Then Seamus had all of that to wonder about without understanding the language of a Pokemon, and he had to show some concern for what this rare and unusual pest was doing to these parts. It seemed to strike him as either a leader or a part of a pack of wild Pokemon. He was trying to get the gist of it, but there seemed to be some intelligence involved. Why else would there be a cell phone, of all things, in the Pachirisu’s possession? He let Kindle go back onto the ground with the Kabuto shell on, and the Hoppip made a straight dash for the Drillbur. <Drillbur! Drillbur!> He said excitedly, tugging on the ground type’s arm.
<Hm, what is it kid?> The Drillbur asked as if he was in a daze, gazing down at the Hoppip that looked up at him with so much trust and hope. The Hoppip smiled even wider and started to pull him closer to him, before inching away. Wait, was Kindle leading him somewhere? <Uh…follow you? Follow? You want us to follow you?> He asked, while Kindle looked at him with sudden interest. New word, yay! <Foll…foll…!> He was trying to say it, Kindle of course, and the Drillbur grinned. He could teach him this word. The pair worked on it for a bit before Kindle got it, and was soon saying the word ‘Follow’ and attempting to lead the Drillbur back onto the city’s streets. Seamus noticed and trailed from behind, letting the Pokemon take him where they wanted to go. At least for now; they seemed to have good instincts about these things.

used headbutt on Kindle! "HEY!" Although it was clearly a shout, there wasn't much power behind the Linoone's voice as he shouted at the Hoppip and Drillbur. He did seem terribly angry though... "HEY! GET OFF MY LAWN YOU TROUBLE-MAKERS!" He stomped on the sidewalk and snarled. Perhaps he was a bit delusional... this wasn't a lawn, and it was the city's property. His hair was beginning to grey and it was thinning in some areas. He had wisdom in his eyes, hidden deep behind his old man rage. He made a move to headbutt the Hoppip and knock him away. "You kids and your rap music! Thinking you can just walk all over an old man's lawn!" He mumbled as he moved foreword. He wasn't quick. At some point dear old Linoone had lost his speed... probably about the same time his hip went out!

Not by the Linoone, but by the Drillbur which saw the Linoone preparing to strike as he was being dragged along. The ground type took the hit with a pained wheeze, stumbling backwards at the grouchy Linoone ranted from afar. Seamus was quick to scoop up the Hoppip in his arms, noticing that the grass type injured himself in the fall.
”Scratches, huh? I might have a band aid.” Might, though that was his personal supply. He didn’t feel inclined to share with the little one, but he would if he had to. Meanwhile he had to wonder if the Drillbur was actually going to pick a fight with the Linoone. The ground type wasn’t his, so he couldn’t exactly control him. Still, the Drillbur looked incredibly annoyed that the old man was going around attacking kids. <Watch it! Do you get off on abusing kids or what?> The Drillbur was quick to rave back, half wondering why this day wasn’t as relaxing as he thought it would be. Ever since that Kabuto…and bumping into this Seamus guy, well, there seemed to be trouble around every corner.
<Go away, we’re busy.> He raised his nose at the Linoone, thinking that would solve that. It probably wouldn’t though, especially if the Linoone had any pride as a male. The Drillbur motioned for Seamus to follow him, and the group started to move away. The Drillbur put on a mature face, but the second Kindle wasn’t looking he stuck his tongue out at the Linoone to mock him.

>Abusing children? Do you guys get off on abusing my lawn?< The old Linoone snapped back at the Drillbur who had intercepted the attack. >You rotten kids and your rap music. Always talking about prostitutes, sex, and drugs. Seriously! What has the world become?< He asked out loud as he dug up some sand and threw it at the Drillbur soon after. >This teaches you to get off my lawn! Get off before I force you off!< He said, sticking out his tongue to Kindle. >No respect at all. Seriously, I get no respect anymore. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves!< He said out loud. ::Linoone:: Level 23 / Male Switcheroo / Tackle / Growl / Tail Whip Headbutt / Sand Attack / Odor Sleuth / Mud Sport Personality: Grumpy old man. Clearly he didn’t have hands that were soft enough to do the job for him, so he had to be careful despite what instinct told him to do. You’ll poke your eye out kid! Kindle was still whimpering from his fall, but the wounds weren’t bad enough for Seamus to use any of his own private medical appliances on, so he didn’t bother. Pokemon got hurt all of the time, so the Hoppip was going to have to get used to it one way or another.
Sure, he would’ve been much safer in the Pokeball, but this was a way where he could really learn and see things. He had been hoping that Kindle would pick up on the language if he was exposed to it enough, which would’ve been more beneficial than locking him up in the Pokeball this entire time. Most of his team spent their times in their Pokeballs, so they didn’t get to interact with each other too much. Kindle would have to get used to that sometime, but he may as well live a little before that happened.
<Your lawn means that much to you, huh? Pride and joy, eh? Well this is what I think of your stupid lawn.> The Drillbur mocked the Linoone by rolling his eyes, then proceeded to run around and dig up random patches of dirt in the Linoone’s lawn. The Mud Sport was making a mess of things, and he kept running around like a pesty mole, so the Linoone was going to have to chase after him.

The Linoone took it to heart when the Drillbur came and tried to mess with his lawn even more. He did not appreciate the mud sport and the dirty and brown spots all over his beautiful, city owned lawn at the moment and quickly decided to retaliate. >You rotten kid! Messing with my lawn when I am about to go to bed!< He yelled as he quickly gathered a handful of sand and threw it at Kindle. >How do you like that? You abuse my lawn... I'll abuse your kid!< He said. He truly was a stubborn old fart who liked to get even with irrational things like this. He then rushed at Kindle and attempted a tackle on him, but stopped right before he could execute the attack as it was more to threaten the Drillbur then to actually harm the Hoppip. >Teaches you to mess with my lawn!< He exclaimed again. He is seriously mad! ::Linoone:: Level 23 / Male Switcheroo / Tackle / Growl / Tail Whip Headbutt / Sand Attack / Odor Sleuth / Mud Sport Personality: Grumpy old man. <Not the kid!> The Linoone got him where it hurt when he saw the Hoppip sprayed with sand, despite being held in his trainer’s arms. Seamus was wearing glasses so he wasn’t all that irritated, but he held the Hoppip protectively and stumbled backwards when the Linoone faked a tackle on them. He was so caught off guard, and Kindle was making these worried squeaking sounds, that he nearly fell over. Holding out one arm to protect himself from the fall while the other was holding Kindle, an odd thing happened to be in the way. What was a walker doing here, of all places? He caught his balance with it and used it to push himself up, looking at the object with an odd stare.
Someone must’ve thrown it away, maybe because the owner had passed on or upgraded to a wheel chair. The Drillbur saw the tackle and instantly reacted, thinking that he let Kindle get hurt because he wanted to torment the Linoone. <Don’t touch the kid if you know what’s good for you.> He lashed out with a Metal Claw at the crazed old Linoone, thinking he needed a beating if he was ever going to learn some new tricks.
”I don’t know what you did, but you’re being targeted for some reason.” Yeah, about 3 Pokemon in the city tried to attack the Hoppip right away, including the Linoone. He was going back in the ball for now. Besides, he knew the sand wouldn’t be a problem as soon as he went inside. With the Hoppip back in the ball, Seamus armed himself with a walker so that Linoone didn’t go for him next.

Likes prunes, day time television, and going to bed at 7pm hit with metal claw uses headbutt on Drilbur His aged eyes lit up for a brief moment when he saw the walker. Lightweight metal frame... not a speck of rust to be seen (but his eyes were bad... so who knows how much there might be in the nooks and cranies)... and a handsome shine to it. Linoone could appreciate a good walker. The other shiny thing in the area was the Drilbur's claws and those struck clear across his cheek, tearing into his skin and hurting his fragile old man body.
"Hmpf... in my day we would have shown respect for our elders! Helped them across the street!" He protested while running foreword. He lowered his head to smack it into the Drilbur, the skull being one of the few bones in his body that wasn't weakening and hurting.
