It's back!
Hm? What? Seamus looked around at the dramatic call without too much excitement, but couldn't see anything important around here. Kindle squeaked as the scary man came up to him, with rather accusing eyes and ducked under the safety of his shell. There was no way he wanted to deal with a man that big and mean! Seamus raised an eyebrow at the babble and the pointing at Kindle until he got it, just a little before Norton did. "So there's a Kabuto around, huh? Probably the one that left the shell behind." He mused, or maybe it was the shell of a sibling, or parent. It was small enough to sort of fit Kindle at least, so he was going to guess something younger.
"He'll only cause problems if you try to swallow him whole." Seamus joked in his own dry sense of humor, trying not to crack a smile at the guy. The Pelliper beside him was just filthy though, probably from the Kabuto they were looking for. It seemed to be a good idea to talk to this guy-- at least to figure out what happened. "How long ago did you see the Kabuto?" Everything looked fresh, to say the least. It couldn't be too far away at least.
"I was just hired to go after it, so any data is appreciated." He didn't bother to take out a notepad, because he was already ready to listen intently to what the man had to say. Surely he would want this Kabuto gone and out of the city, wouldn't he? Kindle finally felt safe enough to peak out of his shell, glancing at Pepper and all of the mud she was in. Looked like she needed a bath. But there was water all around this place, so what was the problem?
<D-D-Drill...> He was trying to say the word the Aipom said, what was it? Drillbur? The nice monkey said a Drillbur could help them, and he didn't know what that was, but maybe she did. But hey, first word ever! Drill! Except that was only part of what he wanted to say, but at least he was learning.

>Drilbur? Haha no! That wasn't what did this to me< The Pelipper said to Kindle after hearing her say drill over and over again. It seemed that this Pokémon thought that a Drilbur was nearby but instead it was a Kabuto who had wrecked havoc and done this to him, his master, and his city. The burly man quickly smiled and spoke to Seamus after he was done inquiring. "First off. Your Hoppip looks a bit young and small. You should probably put it away before it gets eaten or something." He laughed, his large belly flopped up and down as he chuckled loudly. "And you want to know where the Kabuto went? I honestly do not know... I chased it down here and then lost sight of it so I can not be much help." He said. If he had known where the Kabuto was, he'd chase it himself... "I saw the Kabuto about ten minutes ago. It just came here, slung a couple of mud bombs everywhere and then simply left. If my Pokémon wasn't blinded momentarily we would have found him..." The sailor said. "Have you seen anything?" He asked. He too was searching for the Kabuto Seaman Norton is not much help. What next?

Kindle looked annoyed at how the Pelliper misunderstood him, but he didn't know the words to express what he wanted. 'Have you seen a Drillbur', that was what he wanted. Instead he was just dismissed, and sighed sadly. Aipom's advice was going to waste until he got smarter, but maybe Seamus would figure something out soon. He was just going to keep the shell over his head so he wouldn't get blown away, not that it was windy anyways.
"He's a newborn. I want him to learn things." Seamus noted, realizing that Kindle could be attacked. Heck, a Tumburr already tried to kill him by throwing a giant rock at him. Poor guy, he wasn't nearly trained enough to handle such a situation. Moving onto the important things though, the Sailor ended up not being too much help. The Kabuto was long gone, and it had a 10 minute head start. "Alright, thanks for your help." He said, after the sailor mentioned the blinding experience.
"I haven't seen him yet. Just a shell that might've belonged to him." Seamus sighed, before motioning for Kindle to follow him. The Hoppip trailed behind him as they started to look for clues. Trails in the mud, holes, or a path that might've led somewhere damp or with more mud. Things of that nature interested him. He didn't think he'd have the luck of another person chasing after him.

A strange and mysterious noise was echoing through the city's streets. It sounded like metals being hit and scraped against eachother forcefully. Soon, a frustrated Drilbur appeared. It was in a very bad shape; its whole body was covered in scratches and bruises and it had a big, bloody wound under its left eye, probably caused by a long and sharp knife. The ground type's fur was ragged and messy; it must have had a fight recently. It was the Drilbur's claws that emitted that strange sound; the pokémon was using hone claws, sharpening its large claws. The claws were strange too; they were shaped like a saw.
Suddenly, the Drilbur was starting to get out of breath, so it stopped and leaned against a wall. The mole was clearly exhausted, it couldn't even stand on its legs anymore. The pokémon hissed in pain as it tried to stand up; his whole body was aching. Slowly, the wounded creature staggered and facepalmed the ground. Surprisingly, it started to snicker before starting to dig, trying to continue his journey underground. However, the ground type had no energy left and soon gave up and just lay on the dirty street, recalling the battle he had with that annoying pokémon. <Why did that Kabuto attack me?> The Drilbur spat, sharpening its claws once again. <I was sitting on the beach, minding my own business, when bam!, a Kabuto attacks me! When I catch that puny water type, I will beat the living daylights out of it!!>

Uh oh, another victim of this Kabuto. It was clear what had happened--an injured Drillbur covered in nothing but claw marks. It looked hit pretty bad from the looks of it, and even if Seamus normally didn't care for such a Pokemon, it felt like a pity to leave it dying on the streets. Well Pokemon were tough, so it probably wasn't in a life or death situation. It looked sickening to him though, and Kindle was even frightened into silence. He squeaked as he hid under his Kabuto shell, only peeking out to see where Seamus was going.
"Let's see what we got here." Seamus noted the Drillbur's hone claw move in effect, but he didn't feel at risk of an attack. A hand tentatively touched at the ground type's head as a signal to calm down, while another took out a Potion hidden away in his pocket. "This should help the pain." He muttered, wondering if such a wild Pokemon would let him use the item on it.
<Ka...Ka...Ka..> Kindle was practicing the new name the Drillbur said, over and over. It was a hard one. Three whole syllables. Seamus and the other people were saying it a lot too, so it only seemed natural that he would try and learn a new word. "You should be fine, I think." Seamus sprayed the potion until it was completely empty, but for such a stronger Pokemon it probably would need a bigger dose to be completely healed.

The Drillbur flinched as the Potion was sprayed on him. The healing potion hurt at first but then he felt better, much better. Getting up he moved around a bit. Oh, that felt a lot better. He could move again! He looked at the Trainer before him and bowed his head. <Ah, thank you for healing me. I can't believe I've been attacked by that Pokémon! He came of no where and BAM, gave me a kicking.> The Drillbur explained.
He looked at the small pink Pokémon who was trying to say something. Ka ka ka was the only thing the Hoppip was able to say so he figured it was still young. <And who do we have here, eh?> He asked. He walked up to the young grass type and looked at him.
<Trying to say my name are ya? It's easy. Say drilllllll.> He said. A roll of tongue. <Now say burrrrrr. Drilllllllburrrrrrrr.> He said, his name being easy but hard for a young Pokémon like that.

Seamus looked a bit relieved that the Drillbur didn't attack him, and he put the empty bottle away so he could recycle it later on. The Drillbur seemed to be communicating excitedly to him and Kindle, but neither could get a full grasp on what was going on besides how the Kabuto beat him up. He blinked and watched the interaction between the two Pokemon curiously, noticing that the Drillbur seemed to have a natural charm with younger Pokemon. The Hoppip was coaxed right out of his shell (literally) and stared up at the mature yet kind Drillbur.
Kindle liked how the Pokemon talked; he was nice and friendly. Probably not the kind that would play with him like the Aipom did, but wouldn't it be fun? Oh, now he was going to teach him something? He listened excitedly. He knew how to say Drill! <Drill! Drill!> He squeaked, but then was a bit stuck on the last part. Burr. How to get that 'buh' sound? <Buh...buhh...burrr.> Oh, wait, did he get it?
<Drill...bur!> He chimed excitedly, glad to learn new words by such kind Pokemon. Much better than the Timburr that just tried to hurt him upon first sight. The Drillbur seemed like a nice Pokemon, so Seamus just decided to throw an option out there. "We're looking for a trouble making Kabuto. Think you can show us where it went?" He asked, wondering if the Pokemon understood him. City Pokemon were pretty used to human speech though, so he had a feeling he might.

The Drillbur chuckled at the Hoppip. <There ya go, you got it now!> He said happily. Ah the Hoppip was so cute to watch, it made him feel young again.
Looking at the Trainer he thought for a moment. <Well...> he said shyly. <When I was attacked he disappeared as soon as he came, I don't remember much after that. It was all a blur really. Sorry if I ain't much of help here.> The Drillbur said sadly. It was true, the Pokémon came out of no where and attacked him. He didn't see him leave as he was in too much pain. <But I'm sure if you ask around some Pokémon who weren't being attacked might have saw him run away!> The Drillbur offered. Hopefully this would help. He did wish he could help more but there was nothing he could do at this point.

Kindle gave Seamus a look that said that they weren't going to get anywhere with this. He liked the Drillbur, even if he didn't know the information Seamus needed to find that...thing that he wanted. His tail flicked in imagination, wondering just what kind of Pokemon would wear this type of shell. It was probably something really cute, wasn't it? Just like him! Seamus kind of picked up on what Kindle was trying to communicate, unconsciously, and slowly stood up despite the soreness of his back.
"Take care." He nodded at the Drillbur, not wanting to see it come back with those same injuries as before anytime soon. Kindle didn't quite want to leave just yet, but gave the ground type a quick hug before scuttling back over to his trainer, shell and all.
The duo waved a quick good bye before continuing in the direction the Drillbur originally came from. Seamus figured the Kabuto must've went this way, although who knows what kind of head start it had by now. He sighed, knowing he'd find it eventually, but the challenge it brought was somewhat worrying. Was his team capable? He wasn't actually sure at this point.

Drillbur couldn't just let Kindle and his trainer leave like that, it wasn't right after he had just gotten to know the Pokémon and even gotten to be friends with it. He felt like he really made a difference in Kindle's life when he taught it how to say his name, he felt happy about it and decided to dig himself back up to Seamus and the Kindle while they tried to leave. >Sorry I can't be much help but would you mind if I tag along with you?< He asked. He started to really like the Kindle and wanted to protect it and watch over it, and he felt the best way was to become a Pokémon of the trainer so he could be with the Hoppip and thus could watch over it. >But I don't like pokeballs so it'd be nice if you let me roam around with you two, just like Kindle is. I'd love to watch over him and protect him.< The Drillbur said to Seamus, not knowing if the trainer understood a word he said. ::Drilbur:: Summary: Wants to join because he wants to protect Kindle Level: 24 Gender: Male Attacks: Fury Swipes, Metal Claw, Dig, Hone Claws Personality: Pretty relaxed and laid-back. Seamus of course didn't understand what the Drillbur was saying, but he did notice that somehow the Drillbur had turned tame because it was following them. He occasionally glanced back to look at the ground type until it started speaking, and rather passionately he had to note. Kindle was just looking at the Drillbur with stars in his eyes, as if he was in admiration of the Drillbur's dedication and kindness. They could let him come along, couldn't they? The Hoppip crawled out of the Kabuto shell and flew back over to the ground type, landing gently on his head with a pleading look over to Seamus. They could keep him, couldn't they?
'Not that look...no, I'm mature. Old fashioned. Tough. I can withstand such a gaze, right?' Seamus thought, staring down at the Drillbur and Hoppip with an unamused expression, that was currently twitching because of how difficult this was. Did he really need every Pokemon they ran into following him? Well, the two actually got along. He didn't need all of his Pokemon crew for the specific purpose of battling, as long as he could complete missions, he was fine really. This Drillbur could possibly be a teacher for Kindle, or maybe even a baby sitter.
The more he thought about it, the less intimidating it seemed to let the Drillbur come along with them. He sighed, taking off his glasses and started to wipe the dust off of them with a soft cloth he kept in his upper pocket. Once satisfied, he put them back on and looked at the pair again. "You want to come with, I suppose. That's fine, just...follow." He didn't know if he should use a Pokeball to make it official, but shrugged and held one out anyways. "Just a formality." He added, actually wanting the Drillbur to continue interacting with Kindle.

The Drilbur saw the pokeball out pointed towards him and he quickly shook his head and spoke to Kindle again. >Can you tell him that I'd rather just journey with you to find the Kabuto? Then decide what to do after. I definitely want to take care of you until that point, and most likely after. But I really don't like pokeballs.< He said to Kindle before he just stood to the side of Seamus and the Hoppip. >We can go together and I will listen to his orders, but I just won't "physically" be his pokemon yet. As I really like you, but I don't know if I trust him yet.< The Drilbur spoke. That was weird, controlling a wild pokemon? How would that work? ::Drilbur:: Summary: Rejects pokeball. Ok, odd. The Drilbur didn't seem to understand what the Pokeball was for, so the trainer put it away and glanced at the Hoppip. "Kindle, come here." He asked, and the Hoppip seemed a bit upset at going back to Seamus so soon. He liked his Drilbur friend, and the Drillbur liked him too! They had to be best friends together, he wanted it to be like this! His young mind was making him a bit possessive over the Drillbur, as he clung to the ground type protectively. Seamus was a bit offended and taken aback by the action, and looked the other way. What was with this behavior? He didn't like it very much, to be honest. His Pokémon were supposed to listen to him, really.
<I don't like him too much, kind of mean and strict.> The Drilbur pointed out, but he wanted to chill out with the Hoppip. He liked being around Pokémon younger than he was, especially when they weren't whiners. He scooped up the Kabuto shell, knowing the Hoppip liked having it around, and just glared at the trainer. He'd take better care of this Hoppip, except he wasn't exactly fatherly material. If it were up to him, he'd let Kindle get away with anything.
<Drilbur, drilbur!> Kindle repeated, wanting the Drillbur to come with them. The ground type paused and sighed. He was just going to follow them, even if this Seamus didn't quite understand what Pokémon wanted. The Drillbur walked closer to the trainer with the Hoppip attached, making it clear what he wanted. "Oh, well, ok. Follow if you must." Seamus wasn't going to stop him, seriously.
They had to keep looking for that Kabuto, and hopefully he could keep the Drilbur from getting mauled again. That pitiful state wasn't something he was looking forward to seeing. The Drillbur kept sniffing around for any threats, just a bit alert after being attacked by the Kabuto, but Kindle was pretty happy now that Drillbur was coming along with them!

While waiting in the area, fuming from the attacks of a Kabuto, a Pachirisu suddenly noticed the head of the Hoppip covered in a shell that looked very similar to the pokemon he had just gotten a bad whipping from. Fuming angrily as he thought the Kabuto had returned for more action, he quickly sent a spark at the Kabuto, hoping to do damage to the Kabuto this time around as they were to battle once more. >You! I thought you would never show your face here again! You!!!< He said again and again... Not knowing that it was a Hoppip he had just attacked, and not a Kabuto. Upon seeing the Drilbur and the trainer, he started to think of this as a hostage situation and that he was about to be captured. So after the spark, he began to hide behind a rock, hoping not to be found. >It seems you brought backup this time around. The Hoppip heard the Pachirisu coming and squeaked with curiosity, but the Drillbur reacted faster and shook the Hoppip off, bravely taking the attack with a grunt. What was with this punk, going around and attacking others for the fun of it? With the static attack leaving him due to his immunity, he growled at the Pachirisu, so unfezant. The Drillbur might have been wild, but he made it his duty to protect this young Hoppip. The Pachirisu started rambling nonsense about the Kabuto being back and that they were his gang, and he paused. <Wait a minute.> He felt bad for the Hoppip, but he took the shell right off of him, revealing the pink creature underneath.
"..." Seamus only knelt down on one knee to pat the frightened Hoppip, watching the exchange between two wild Pokemon with mild interest. Kindle was almost harmed, but he didn't mind too much. This happened a lot in the wild, and it was the only way the little one would toughen up. He just wished it wouldn't go by so slowly, because it was like putting tiny needles in his heart one by one. Painful. <I think he's looking for the Kabuto. Where'd ya see him?> The Drillbur asked, wishing he could just relax, but with that bratty Kabuto on the loose, he wasn't going to get that privilege so soon was he? If possible he was going to avoid a conflict, since he didn't want to become too weak on this...quest.

With the Pachirisu realizing his mistake, Seamus sensed that this wasn't as hostile of a situation anymore. Of course he didn't dare to approach a frightened animal, as that would only end up being bad on him. Instead he carefully held Kindle in his arms, also taking hold of the shell so Kindle could hide under it. Funny how a grass Pokemon preferred hiding then being in the sun, but this was only the second time he was attacked in this city. The Hoppip whimpered a bit, trying to encourage better relations between the two. He just wanted to see some cooperation after all, and he held his tail tightly with his head peeking out.
"Help us out, Drillbur." He nodded at the ground type, since they seemed to be on the same turns. This Pachirisu had a clear reaction to his Hoppip, when in the Kabuto shell that is, but once it was revealed that it was only a Hoppip, he backed off. Certainly this creature knew something about the Kabuto around here, though it didn't look nearly as bad off as the Drillbur did after their match.
<Now I was attacked by that Kabuto, and I wasn't kidnapped. Attacked, yep, but not taken away. You sayin' you don't know where that place is? Nothing special about it at all?> The Drillbur began to tap his foot, but he was being very patient with the Pachirisu. About to leave, stop him? The Pachirisu began to relax a bit when he realized there was absolutely no danger near by actually. He heard the questions of the Drilbur and proceeded to answer the pokemon. >All I can remember is that it was muddy, cramped, and incredibly dark. But I have blocked a lot of it out of my mind.< He said before a tear began to show in his face. >Seriously, do you want me to experience that again? He just kidnapped me and gave me a beating I never thought I'd ever experience. You don't know what I've been through. You have no idea.< He said, not knowing that the Drilbur had been in this situation before. The Drillbur wasn’t convinced that the Pachirisu didn’t know about the Kabuto’s location, and kept a dazed expression as the Pachirisu began to tear up after his terrible experience. That was nice and all, but it didn’t fit with what was going on. He was attacked not that long ago, and from what he understood, Seamus and his Hoppip had an encounter of some kind recently. Why else would they have the shell? He scratched his chin thoughtfully until he saw the Pachirisu run off in some direction, as if he was intending to go somewhere.
<Hey! Wait up!> He raised a paw up to try and stop him, but that didn’t work. Darn, it looked as if they were going to have to chase after the rodent on foot. He looked to Seamus and gave him a glare and a ‘follow me’ look, determined to solve this mystery. He thought the Pachirisu was lying, just because of how he ran off like that. <You know something!> He added as he chased after the electric type, noticing how much slower he was compared to the squirrel only once they started their pursuit.
”Hang on.” Seamus had Kindle in one arm, shell attached, with his suitcase in his other hand. He wasn’t going to be able to keep up with the Pachirisu, but he could track down the Drillbur. His pace began to pick up as they raced through some of the quieter streets, with this damn electric rat giving them all kinds of problems. The Drillbur knew what his intentions were, so this had better be good.

PLOT TWIST Upon hearing footsteps behind him, the Pachirisu began to run even faster now as he quickly pulled out a cellular device and spoke into the phone. >Oh no! Boss they are on to me! They figured out I'm lying.< He said quietly to the other line before hanging up and throwing the phone on the ground... Giving it a small spark before he continued running on. It seemed the Drilbur did catch on fast. The Pachirisu was up to something... His wounds were fake and his entire story was a lie. He wanted to misdirect them somewhere else, but failed to do so when the Drilbur caught on to his game... Now it was just a matter of running and getting lucky. That Drilbur sure was a nuisance, being a pokemon he couldn't harm. ::Pachirisu:: Level 20 | Male Attacks: Growl, Bide, Quick Attack, Spark, Charm, Endure Personality: Works for the Kabuto actually. His whole story was a lie!
Still running away
