She nervously peered around the ball room from her hiding spot beside the entrance. It wasn't completely filled with people though there was still enough in there to scare Claribel. Of course, she'd have to go in there sooner or later and the more she waited, the more crowded it would get. She retreated back to the side of the entrance and pressed herself up against the wall, taking a deep breath as she closed her eyes in an attempt to calm herself.
Exhaling, Claribel pushed herself off of the wall and walked into the ballroom. She quickly chose one of the tables nearest the door to sit at, not even paying attention to anyone else as she hastily made her way to it. She pulled one of the chairs out, sitting in it once she managed to situate her prom-like dress, and started to watch whoever was out on the floor. A few were dancing, some just mingling. Even a few pokemon were conversing with each other. At least she was actually here at this social event, even if it took her a few moments to actual get out there and try to talk to people.

Azz's gaze flicked across the ball room like she was bored. Well, actually, she was. She exhaled softly as she watched that Absol thing make it's way around, and was actually wishing that it would just hurry up so that they could leave. Why, she just wanted to get the hell off this dang boat, but that wasn't an option for what awaited her. The prize of being bored as hell for the night was pure silence tomorrow. Sweet, sweet silence.
She closed her eyes for a moment only to hear the quick pace of foot steps and saw some weirdling wandering around. Well at least she wasn't completely alone in the wave of people-who-didn't-want-to-even-be-here, or was she?
As comforting as it was, the other girl, lady whatever, took a seat at the same table Azz was sitting at. Well, it seemed like she would have a 'friend' to talk to for a moment, wouldn't it. That is, if her rude behavior didn't scare her off.
"Lost much?" she asked, pushing a jar full of fat pretzel sticks over to Claribel. Why, Azz wasn't going to touch those effing pretzels. God knows what might've happened to them, but she wasn't surprised when Kai walked over. 'Maybe we should head out?' the shimmering Absol asked, but Azzwraith just flicked her hand at it, motioning for it to leave if it wanted to, or stay and keep mingling with the people that couldn't see her.

A small squeak slipped from her mouth as the girl spoke, nearly causing Claribel to tip her chair over while she was still in it. In fact, she did manage to knock over one of the chairs next to her in a loud clang that echoed throughout the whole ballroom. She took a moment to calm herself as the silence grew to an unbearable status. She glanced from the fallen chair, to the girl, to the floor before she even begun to answer. "Lost? No," she answered, "but shouldn't your parents be with you? How old are you anyway?" To be honest, this girl seemed much younger than what she actually was to Claribel. Then again, everyone who were years younger than her was considered children even if they were obviously older. "So, why aren't you out there?" she asked, trying to make small talk with the girl. She tried her best to keep her voice at a steady level, though it wavered at a anxious whisper for the most part. "Or do you not know anyone either?" She was aware that she was asking a lot of questions, but how else was she supposed to talk to a stranger? Tell them about her day? In the very least she was trying to socialize. __________________________________________________________

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Lost or not, you do have some anxiety to work on." she mumbled, taking a sip of her water. She had just barely squeezed that in when the other suddenly came out with a barrage of questions.
If she was trying to make small talk, then she was way past that. It was more like questions and answers. "My mom is dead, and my dad doesn't live here, if that's what you mean." she replied, giving herself some more time to take a sip of water and check quickly on Kai.
The shimmering Absol was just making it's way towards them, too. 'Who's this?' it asked, flicking it's head up towards Claribel. Azzwraith did all she could to to ignore it, and focus on the questions.
"14, almost 15." She said, completely unsure of what to put in. Seriously, were they even allowed to tell their names, let alone age or something? Here came a question she actually enjoyed to answer.
"I'm now out there because I don't even want to be here. So, of course I don't know anyone. But you really should ask yourself that, too." she said, all the while Kai was getting actually angry at her. 'Are you gonna tell me who this is, or am I just gonna have to-' Enough was enough.
"Just shut up" she muttered, not caring if the other person across from her heard it or not, "Just shut up and listen or go away and do whatever it is that things like you do" she finished before her attention flicked back to Claribel.

"Anxiety? Maybe a little," she replied. Okay, so Azzwraith was right. She did have a slight case of social anxiety but that could be helped, right? "It's much harder to work on than what you probably think. More so now that I've reached early adulthood."
She removed one of the pretzels from the jar that was pushed towards her earlier, absentmindedly breaking it into progressively smaller pieces. Claribel looked down in an apologetic manner, "I'm sorry for bringing up your parents. You just seem so young, even if you're just a few years below me."
She didn't want to be out there? What young teenage girl didn't want to be seen out dancing? "You don't want to be out there? Why not? If I was your age, I would be trying to do whatever I could to get out there, even if I only stayed for a few minutes. As for me, I'm not out there because I can't be out there. If that makes any sense," she said. She found it much easier to talk now, though that might be only because she had stopped looking at the girl and started to pay more attention to what was in front of her.
She took a small sip of the water, though quickly setting it down though not because it was disgusting. No, it was quite fine actually. What she wanted was some an actual beverage. It was a party, of course! So why not drink to her heart's content? "Do you know if they're servin-" she cut off in mid sentence by Azz's sudden outburst.
She looked at the girl, tilting her head to the side in confusion. "Mhmmm," she muttered while she tried to make sense of what just happened. "So," Claribel started but stopped once more. Was she talking to her? Azz very well could be, but what reason did she have to be rude to Claribel? Or maybe it was some odd personality disorder that caused it? Well whatever it was, Claribel didn't know if it was kind to inquire about it or not.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Azz snickered. "How hard can it really be?" she asked, her eyes not bothering to make full on contact with her, but more skimming over the whole area. Practically making sure everyone were to stay in line, but more so looking for that familiar shimmer, almost like air distortion, the meant her annoyance was nearby.
She shrugged, covering the distant look in her eyes with a cloud full of curiosity, and focused more on finding that air distortion. Of course her mom being dead and her dad being an asshole, and then her caretakers whom left her alone, wasn't there a law against that anyways?, and her abusive Aunt, nothing could hurt her. Badly. Or so she felt.
A snicker escaped again she Claribel took a sip of the water, and set it back down as though it was poisoned. "They don't poison the water here, you know." she said, giving up on her look to make eye contact with Claribel this time. She was cut off, probably to her sudden outburst. Great. 'This always happens when i actually somewhat try to be nice. Kai just waltzes in and makes me a=have damn outbursts.'
[/color] her mind furiously hissed. "I wasn't talking to you, you know." she sighed. So much for the I'm perfectly normal try at things. Now, instead of actually having soemthing to focus on, with the Absol running out after she said to leave or shut up. Why was this always happening to her? Azzwraith's statement caught Claribel off guard. "If you weren't talking to me, then who? I'm the only person near you," she replied. How was she supposed to know she wasn't on the receiving end of the girls flare-up? Even if someone else was close to them talking, what she said still wouldn't make sense. Claribel was majorly confused to say the least.
Her thoughts drifted back to earlier, before she was cut off. She shook the glass of water lightly just enough to cause a miniature whirlpool to form in the middle. "It may not be poisoned, but they could at least provide a bottle of wine on the table," she said. She took another sip before pushing the glass off towards the middle of the table and focused her attention on her company. "Say, you don't drink do you?" she asked. Azzwraith's answer wouldn't mean much to Claribel. Either way, she was going to find something better to drink.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "It's a long story." she said, making it obvious that she was uncomfortable on the subject. Her eyes drifted from person to person, couple to couple, envious in a way of them all. But, she kept those thoughts strictly to herself.
She watched Clar swivel her drink around. "On occasions." Actually, that was a lie, she used to drink, not to the point of drunk, but she did have wine a lot. "Actually, some wine does sound pretty good at the moment..." It was a special occasion, why not drink to her heart's content, hmm?
She looked around, seeing there was a few waiters, but not much. She got up and walked right up to one of them.
"Sir, could you get my friend and I some wine?" she asked, seeing a small nod before rushing off as she headed back to her table. "It better be free." she muttered on her way back.

She chose to not pursue it any longer. Azzwraith seemed to make it clear that she didn't really want to talk about it and Claribel didn't have much interest in it at the moment anyway. If they ended up becoming friends after this, she would probably try to get to know more about Azz, including whatever caused that. However, she had much more important matters to tend to.
She smiled and laughed softly, "What better of an occasion than this very one?" It was a party after all. Everyone was also anonymous with the masks covering their faces. Unless you came out and said your name, no one would ever find out who you were. Claribel stayed at the table while Azzwraith went to request drinks from the waiter, using the brief few seconds of solitude to push back a few annoying strands of hair that had fallen in front of her face.
It seemed like an eternity before the waiter finally brought the wine to their table. Once their drinks were poured, Claribel lifted her glass to Azz quickly. "Cheers," she said before taking a sip.

"Cheers." and a clank of glass-on-glass it made before they had a sip. She could get used to this. Sitting, inside a circular room, sipping wine with a complete stranger. She didn't even know her name!
Didn't they say wine was good for the heart, anyways? Even though it was alcohol.
"So, lets know a little more about you." she began, not even waiting for a comment before she began with a question. "Where are you're parents, since you look no older than... 16?" she guessed at the age, really, and was probably way off anyway. For all she knew, the timid girl could really just be a timid lady...

Blitz walked over near the two girls sitting in a table near the door. He had been watching them from a distance recently but now he had decided to get a little closer, although he chose to sit in another table and not their table yet... He did not want to make his introduction just yet, he wanted to wait a little bit first and just watch them creepily from a distance. Maybe even mimic their actions a little...
He saw one girl sit there at first, she had black hair and was wearing a prom dress. And she was simply looking at the crowd and paying attention to what they were doing, not really doing much herself.
Then suddenly a rather young girl with small brown hair walked over to join here. They began to converse a little although it just sounded a little rude and awkward. The brown hair girl began to offer the black hair girl some pretzels and she took some and ate some. The two began to socialize and even drink some wine...
Blitz sat by himself in the table nearest them so that they could see him looking right at them. He began to drink his own wine that he had brought over from the bar, it was the same color and texture as the one they had. And he also had a pretzel in his mouth which he was eating. He just continued to watch them from a distance, attempting to imitate everything they were going to do...
