{desc=you get it? ;D} l i l l i a n g r o v e s Lillian had heard about a site where one could procure gems they could exchange for certain useful items you couldn't get anywhere else. That piqued her interest, and once she found the time to visit, she came. The exchange she had with the bearded man was dull and slightly perverted on his part, so she had ended it abruptly and continued down into the dark abyss with equipment in tow.
She released her Horsea, Trickle, in the process, figuring that he could wet the dirt and make it easier to break. The little guy tagged along at her feet, looking around anxiously at the darkness surrounding them. Lillian was marking their path by dragging the pick on the dirt so that they could make their way back through the maze.
They finally found a nice corner with packed dirt. Lillian tested the wall and the 'tink that erupted from it showed that there were shards just waiting to be dug. "Here's good." She said briefly. She began hitting the wall with her pickaxe as Trickle softened it with a constant Water Gun, transforming it into more pliable mud.
She wasn't expecting any visitors.

It had been a while since Susumu was last down here, but apparently his other mining trips were a bust. No one ever stayed with him very long, so everyone typically gave up before they ever got any shards. Oh well, that was a shame. He started back down again in an attempt for riches with cat like eyes following his movements from behind. A burly and well built Purugly walked proudly beside him, as if he was ready to pounce on any small creature that dared pop out at them in this dark place. Near the entrance there were a ton of Pokemon with their trainers fruitlessly digging, all in hopes of discovering precious shards to buy tms. Good for them, except he didn't want to dig somewhere so...crowded. Even his Purugly's ears were twitching in annoyance with the sounds of metal against rock, Pokemon crying to each other and some getting into fights because of invasions of personal space.
<I'm going to keep walking until its calmer, Susumu.> The Purugly said somewhat adamantly, though Susumu was ultimately the boss. If Susumu wanted to stop here, he'd do so with little complaint after it. Except Susumu agreed with him, making the Purugly smile to himself at their excellent communication abilities with one another. "Almost." The trainer said with a pitying smile, rubbing Santino affectionately on his fuzzy head, encouraging him to walk with him a little more until hardly any people were in the area. Well, there was one down here in this particular path, but he didn't mind.
Neither wanted to walk much further, especially when they were going to be digging. "Heya, any luck over here?" Susumu asked the audino morph with a friendly look, of course not meaning harm even though it was pretty dark, he had a sharp pick ax over his shoulder, and not a lot of people were around here. Oh yeah he was totally safe. He dropped his bag to the ground as he faced the wall, nodding at Santino to lend a hand. <Ah, right.> Santino was a bit distracted at the delicious small Horsea using water gun on the wall, making it softer. Kind of creative actually, but he was soon clawing at the wall in an attempt to make it easy to dig in. His claws hurt already, whine whine whine.

l i l l i a n g r o v e s Lillian liked the sounds of other trainers' voices, but when there were too many like early in the cave, it put a bit of a strain on her acute hearing. Here, it was quieter and probably filled with shy people like her that knew to keep silent. Suddenly, she heard a male voice nearer to her than the others that asked how she was doing. "Not yet." She answered tentatively in what she hoped seemed friendly. She glanced at him and was only able to make out the outline of his clothes before aiming the flashlight at him to get a better look.
To her surprise, it had pointed at his pants at first, and that caused her to blush unwittingly - though luckily, it was concealed in the darkness. Gosh, get yourself together. She scolded to herself, laying the flashlight on the ground again before continuing to hit the pickaxe against the moistened wall, breaking off more chunks. ".. Sorry." She uttered after a moment, feeling like she'd just checked him out unnecessarily.
The Horsea was glad that someone had come along to keep them company. He could sense that he was friendly, but he couldn't say the same for his Purugly, who was huge and well, predatory. But he took pity on him when he started clawing against the wall. <Here, this'll make it easier.> Trickle aimed his water gun at Santino's patch of wall. <It'll be muddy, but..> he shrugged before continuing to spray at the wall, watching it crumble under the weight of the water.

Nodding at the response that the girl gave him, only slightly able to recognize her shape as he rested his lanturn on the ground, allowing Santino to have a head start in digging while he made sure everything was ok. She didn't seem threatening at all, and he figured that this was going to work out fairly well, not expecting much more than a few words of conversation. It would've been nicer talking to a guy though, since he had a harder time interacting with the opposite sex. It was just one of those things, anyways. He would've started digging but the flash light startled him, making him jump a little as it shined on his pants...why, he wasn't sure, until he realized just how short this girl was. He didn't see anything perverted behind it at the very least, assuming he startled her as he started to dig again.
"It's not a problem." He reassured her, having no idea what hell he was making in her mind as the sound of his pick ax struck against the wall. It was a rhythmic sound that he was starting to join, especially when he tried to keep it with a specific pattern in his head. Doing this mining thing was something he came to enjoy, especially since a little bit of exercise never hurt anybody. He wondered if she was going to talk again, or if she was simply going to leave him to work in silence. Girls were typically talkative right? This one didn't seem to be though.
<O-Oh!> Santino cringed when water got on his paws as the water gun bounced off of the walls, but staring at the earth he realized that it was softer. He looked at the Horsea in surprise before smiling, realizing that the Pokemon was a nice one. Instant friend, right here. He looked at the Horsea fondly with a twitch of his tail, deciding that he wasn't going to see this Pokemon as a meal. <Thank you, I was worried about how I was going to be digging with just claws.> He chuckled, pawing at it first to give it a test. Yes, this was a lot better. Clawing at it again, he realized that his claws would have less stress on them now.

l i l l i a n g r o v e s Lillian's ears twitched as he replied that it wasn't a problem. Phew, at least he didn't hate her. Good. There was something about his appearance and demeanor that caused her to become less tense. She settled into the resulting silence with ease, always enjoying quiet moments like this. As they pounded against the wall, she had the lovely noises of shards to concentrate on. She'd chosen a good spot, she thought to herself. She noticed that her pokemon and Santino had joined forces, making her feel like they were right to pair up with one another.
.. Pair up? With him? She blushed again as she continued rhythmically hitting the wall although she was a little distracted now with that perverted thought. It even made her a little lightheaded, and she shook her head to erase the line of thinking, instead pondering how she could train her pokemon quicker. Well, there was a phenomenon going around called Rare Candies. She wondered how she could get her hands on some of them.
She didn't say one thing as she continued to think to herself.
Trickle smiled warmly at Santino, glad that he could help him out and deter him from thinking that he was prey. So he made it his goal to make it easier for all three of them digging, spraying all of their spots evenly. He did hope that he wouldn't make anyone muddy, but it was bound to happen soon if he kept doing it.

Santino and Susumu were starting to get into the swing of things when the Horsea started to soften the earth with the occasional squirts from Water Gun. As Susumu's pick ax dug hard into the earth, making parts of it fall in a messy pile around him, Santino started to claw away at that area to make the next strike easier. The Purugly hummed in amusement seeing that his claws weren't the best digging tools anyways, and he was able to help out his trainer in the process. It felt like he was directly helping him instead of digging in their own separate spots, of course he was also grateful that the Horsea was being so kind to them. <Does she need help too...?> Santino mused, looking up at the Audino morph with curious eyes.
Certainly if the Horsea was nice and friendly, then the trainer had to be as well. The Purugly was glad to be instantly accepting of friends, even if that kind of thinking did end up biting him in the ass from time to time. The Purugly slithered around his trainer and made sure not to bother the Horsea as some water splashed on him. He shuddered from the sudden coldness, but he had plenty of fat on him. He could take it. <I'll help.> He mewed after she struck at the earth, and in a hurry he used his Fury Swipes in an attempt to clean off the loosened up earth so she could have an easier time striking again.
Susumu was glad that the Pokemon were working together really, though the girl wasn't saying anything. He was fine and unsure about this at the same time, not knowing what to say. Normally he liked talking to his Pokemon as he worked, but it almost felt as if he was going to bother her. Sending a glance over at her way, she did look like she was lost in thought. Probably was for the best not to bother her too much, even if Santino was doing it with a lot of ease. Fucking overly friendly cat.

l i l l i a n g r o v e s Lillian was deep in thought as she continued striking the wall, her arm muscles adequate for enduring a little while more of this work. It was worth it, definitely. Her ear twitched as Santino mused about if she needed help too, but she didn't reply to him. The question wasn't addressed to her, and she didn't want to seem imposing. She stepped back a little as a large mass of dirt fell down, nearly splattering onto her shoes because of the water mixed in.
Trickle shrugged at Santino's suggestion, but before he could aim his Water Gun elsewhere the cat just walked through it like nobody's business. He seemed unfazed though, so the Horsea kept watering the wall where Susumu was pickaxing.
Lillian felt the presence of another creature near her legs and paused in her pickaxe action, watching Santino as he clawed off a stubborn layer of dirt. "Thanks," She said gently, her voice ringing out like a bell. She nearly swung the pick again when suddenly he lashed at the wall again. She'd nearly hit him with the pick. "Careful.. I-I mean, my bad." Lillian uttered, grateful that she'd reacted quickly enough not to wound the other trainer's Pokémon. More cautiously, she tapped the wall when his claws weren't there to obscure it.
<Lighten up a little, Lilli.> Her Horsea reminded her, causing the pokemorph to redden a little more in embarrassment. She knew her Pokémon meant well, but sometimes he made situations that much more unbearable. He heated up his flow of water a little bit, realizing that the extra heat might serve them better. Besides, the cave was kind of cold. A little steam would brighten everyone up.. or just make them feel sweaty.

Santino had only meant to help, but Lillian's ax hadn't seen him coming and nearly struck him on the head. Flinching as he took a step backwards, he could see that she hadn't had any ill-intent in that action and accepted it. He had been a bit careless after all, not realizing that he was hard to see in this dark cave. With his cat like eyes, he had an easier time adjusting to the darkness as he looked around, able to see everything fairly easily with the aid of the flashlight and lantern resting on the ground. <It's my bad too.> He said with a smile, not fully realizing that she was able to understand him word for word as he continued with the process of helping her this way. She seemed physically weaker than Susumu anyways, so he figured that she could use the help.
Keeping an eye on his Pokemon after lifting his pick ax once more, already Susumu could feel himself working up a sweat as he kept striking at the wall. It was soft and muddy, so it wasn't making the loud 'clank' sound that it used to. It was doing something though, especially with the Horsea's help. Things did get a bit different though when suddenly it used Scald on the wall, forcing Susumu to take a step back as the hot steam flowed all around him. It felt nice after a while, like using a hair dryer in the middle of winter for the sake of the warm air.
"Now that's some water power." He commented with a chuckle as the steam finally went away, and he started digging again. He was going to have to be careful whenever the Horsea did that, that little bugger. Even Santino seemed to flinch at the steam, but he found it more enjoyable than the cold water gun, combined with the mud that was being thrown around. Ah, his pelt was already a mess. So gross.

l i l l i a n g r o v e s Lillian continued to strike the wall, her eyes as focused as can be so that she'd be able to see Santino and his paws before she hit it. Thankfully, she was able to make out his fuzzy outline even though her vision was not the best, especially in darkness. At least her ears helped though, and she concentrated harder on the sounds of claws scraping rock.
The steam felt good at first, but then it felt like she was sweatier than before. In addition, her dress was already starting to catch flecks of mud from her tool's pounding. I should've chosen an older dress. She thought to herself, disappointed that the outfit was exposed to this grime. But they had to use the mud tactic if they wanted to find more shards and the deeper, larger ones. Hearing Susumu's comment, she glanced at him and meekly agreed, "Yeah." as she continued to pound against the wall. She was grateful that he was helping her, wondering why he'd chosen her. Well, it couldn't have been for her appearance. It was so dark in here that that was a moot point. Were they fated to meet? Nah, that was way too cliche for her. Her mind wandered again.
<You liked that?> The Horsea asked, not really expecting an answer as he continued using Scald. It suddenly became even steamier, the air around them becoming musty. Lillian realized that if this kept up, she and Susumu were going to be drenched from head to toe in dew by the time they were done. She'd have to stop him.. but it felt so good right now that she held off for the moment.

Ah, at least she was replying to him, even if there was hardly any conversation. He figured that she was a girl of few words, deciding to focus more on digging deeper into the earth, penetrating the mud slide with his ax with many strokes. It was making him awfully tired though, especially as the steam continued to build around him. Breathing was a bit harder, though it felt so nice and warm down here that he simply wanted to sit down and enjoy the sauna. Seriously, it felt super relaxing as long as there wasn't too much steam. It looked like they were halfway to victory as a shard broke out of the wall, smashed completely by the ax as it struck it directly, making it unusable. However, it was still rather pretty and sparkly. Shame he could hardly hold it, even if he wanted to. The mud already slid over it, but he definitely knew they found a good spot for shards.
"Ha, I think we picked a good spot." He grinned, realizing that she probably had no idea why he said that. "Shard bits are starting to come out of my side." He pointed out, unaware that her eyesight was bad. Still, he adjusted his lantern a bit to make the specific area a little easier to see. Sure enough, parts of the soaking wet, steamy earth seemed to sparkle as if it was a mix of glass and sand. He looked over at where she was, wondering if maybe she was digging in a dead spot. If so, then she'd probably have more luck digging where he was. They could always share or something, he was used to it by now.
<Haha, keep it up Big Guy.> The Purugly laughed, not knowing the little one's name, but was fairly sure that the species name was ready to jump out in his head at any moment. It didn't do it in the end, so he ended up saying that as the steam flowed all around him. He kept clearing away the fallen earth and mud, knowing he was going to need a hell of a bath later on.

l i l l i a n g r o v e s Lillian looked over at Susumu's area, squinting in the darkness and just barely making out the dull shine of shards in his general area. It looked like he'd struck a big one, but some of it seemed damaged. Figures; she'd heard the clank of axe against shard and the scattering of pieces onto the dirt they were standing on. "Great," She responded in a warmer voice than before. She really did want to return his friendliness, but her shyness stood in the way of that. Oh well.
"Your spot's better." She pointed out when he looked at her side, realizing that fewer shards were protruding out of the dirt than his. But maybe he was just working harder. Not wanting to be imposing, she didn't bother asking if he could share even though she did consider it. Instead, she continued axing away the dirt on her side, listening for stronger tinks of shard.
<You got it.> And Trickle continued to derpily steam up their vicinity, blissful of the fact that he was heating them up a little too much. Too hot. .... was what Lillian wanted to say, but she heard Santino's answer to Trickle's question and felt that since he was enjoying it, she might as well enjoy it too. So she sucked it up as steam continued to rise around them. Lillian felt like she'd stepped out of a very muddy shower.

Looking over where she was digging, indeed. She really didn't seem to be having as much luck when it came to finding shards, though there were small hints of it. Whatever the case was, he figured that it would be a better idea if they dug closer together. It wasn't as if it bothered him or anything, even if it was awfully steamy and dark, but it was hard to see it in a perverted way because he literally felt like shit after sweating so much. The mud caking his clothing wasn't helping his case either. "Ah, I guess so. You should come over here and dig with me." He suggested, thinking that it would be better for both of them in the long run if they teamed up in the same general area.
Santino purred in contentment as more steam was let loose; possibly a lot more than the humans were used to, but he found it awesome. It was as if his nose felt amazing and his body was completely warmed to the heart as the steam settled around him. It probably felt even better to water Pokemon, but he was content enough where he was. He wasn't even working, simply sitting down and enjoying the steam while Susumu coughed from an overflow of hot air. "W-Whoa...!" The blonde gasped, backing up since the heat was getting way too ridiculous. Did the girl have any idea that her Pokemon was doing this? Or maybe she was some kind of super hero?
He didn't consider that she was that shy, so he turned his glare to his Purugly instead since it was slacking off. "Santino, you're a fatass." He commented, pointing the pick ax accusingly at his Pokemon, earning a bored look from his Pokemon. <I'm just enjoying the steam, nothing wrong with not over working yourself.> The Purugly retorted, trying to lick some of the mud off of his paws. Hmm, this looked like a mess that would take hours to clean. <And I'm not fat.> The Purugly retorted with a glare, staring up at his trainer and daring him to challenge him on that.
"Yeah, I see what you're doing. Telling the Horsea to use Scald all of the time. The only reason why it doesn't bother you is because you're fat." Susumu added, not understanding his Purugly, but getting that the cat was in denial of this little fact. The Purugly looked offended, now on all fours as he debated kicking his trainer's ass or helping work on the wall. <S-Shut up, I'm just big boned.> He huffed, starting to move the mud out of the way again when he realized that his trainer might've been right. He did have heat resistance because of his Thick Fat, so mayyyyyybe his trainer had a point. Maybe.
Sighing after that interlude as the steam started to disperse around the cave, he looked apologetically at the trainer and her Horsea for that. He didn't know their names, but they didn't have to be exposed to that. It was probably annoying. "Ignore us." He chuckled awkwardly, digging a bit harder with the pick ax again in hopes of releasing more shards from the earth.

l i l l i a n g r o v e s Lillian could feel a moist layer of muddy steam lingering on her skin and clothing as her Horsea continued to use Scald. She began to feel a twinge of annoyance, even, that she was keeping herself from commanding him to stop. Susumu's invite to dig on his side broke through her thoughts and she looked up with relative surprise. "Okay. Thanks." She replied, feeling awkward with how odd that sounded. She approached hesitantly and stood a few feet away from him as she began hitting his part of the wall with her pickaxe while trying not to blush in his vicinity. She was always pretty bad around guys, especially nice guys.
She flinched when she heard the male's cry as he backed up from the influx of steam, feeling the bursting warmth herself as it traveled up her dress and her skin. She expected him to scold her for allowing the Horsea to keep on Scalding, but instead he yelled at his own pokemon and called him fat. She let out a small giggle at that, surprised at the ease with which he addressed his pokemon so vulgarly.
She continued to pickaxe the wall but listened in on their witty conversation, managing to keep a straight face with her lips curled slightly upward in amusement. She didn't want to seem like she was creeping on them. He suddenly told her to ignore them, and at the implication that he knew it was probably bothering her she became even more amused. She smiled at him, then remarked, "Hot in here, isn't it?" with a clearing of her throat to tell Trickle to stop.
He didn't realize it at first, but blinked and asked, <Isn't that a good thing?> She shook her head at him and he realized. <Pfft, you shoulda said so. Talk more. TALKK.> He began using a Water Gun again, aiming a small spritz at her that was so shockingly cold that she stumbled back with a giggle. Her hands became a little unsteady the way they always do when you stifle a laugh, and since she'd continued using the pickaxe just then, it was entirely possible that she could accidentally hurt Susumu with it. 'Either she's ignoring us like I said, or she's trying to make a hint here.' Thinking that right away with Lillian's reply to his, he shrugged and tried to not pay too much attention to it. They were awfully close together, focusing on the same spot in an attempt to get the most shards from the experience. The sound of the ax against the earth started to change with each strike against a shard, breaking them instantly and making them noncollectable. That was fine though, there was always one deep part in the wall where they tended to spill out like a waterfall; at least from his experience.
The Purugly shook his fur as the Water Gun started to cool down everything in the room, staying out of the way until the spray was over so he could keep working on mud duty. Whenever the wall broke off, he was responsible for clearing it out of the way so it wouldn't pile around the trainer's feet. It also helped to prep them for the next strikes against the wall, which was a fine enough job for him. He almost got swiped at a few times, but the Purugly was careful and nimble.
Lillian got a full on spray of Water Gun for no reason at all, at least to Susumu, as she giggled and the ax in her arm wobbled unsteadily. His eyes widened as he realized he should back off, but the ax did manage to nick him in the shoulder. She wasn't the strongest person ever so it wasn't like he was dead or dying, but it cut through his clothes and got to the skin, making the cloth around it stain with blood. He gasped and winced, dropping his ax because he was so startled and started to sit down towards the lantern, trying to get a better look at it. "Ahhhh shit." He hissed, annoyed at the pain and trying not to swear up a storm like he would've if he was all alone. Nope, he was going to have to calm down about this one.

l i l l i a n g r o v e s Lillian let out a gasp as she felt her pickaxe strike his flesh, immediately setting it carefully down on the ground and rushing to his aid. "I-I'm so sorry, are you hurt!?" Her large eyes were wide with shock as she broke his personal bubble, gently feeling his shoulder where her pickaxe had struck him. At the wet feeling of blood she shuddered, not with disgust but with the realization that she'd been so careless. "Don't move, don't move.." She said worriedly in her light voice, suddenly a lot more talkative now that her nursing instincts (Audino morph huehue) were kicking in. She rummaged around in her pouch and brought out a nursing kit that she always carried around, opening it up to reveal a couple tools as well as a huge roll of bandage. First she took out a relatively clean towel, holding it in Trickle's Water Gun before hesitantly using it to dab dirt and blood off of Susumu's wound. "Sorry if this hurts.." she said in a pitiful voice, feeling truly awful that this happened. She usually was so careful; how could she slip up like this!?
After that was done, she put the towel back in the kit and got out the roll of bandage. She stretched it out and stood up, approaching Susumu hastily until she realized that she was being a little forward. She blushed a little, but gulped, knowing that this was no time to be hesitant. Clearing her throat, she said briefly, "I-if you'll allow me... Hold your arm out." She beckoned, hoping he'd allow her to get this close to him. It was her fault and she hated making mistakes as dire as this. If he did so, she'd proceed to bandage his wound with careful and gentle fingers. As bad as she felt, her heart was pumping as though she were treating a patient in a hospital, and she liked the feeling of knowing she could help.
Trickle continued to water gun the wall, this time just for Santino because he knew the two derps of trainers were busy with their wound. He was worried for Susumu, but from the way Lillian acted, he was pretty sure he was in good hands.

Santino growled a little anxiously as he felt the sudden need to fret over his trainer, instantly hovering around with drooped ears, wondering how he could help. He'd do anything Susumu asked! Anything! If his bro was making his last dying words then by god he'd hear them out, write them down, and make sure too broadcast it to everyone his trainer knew--he was so ready to do all of this positive stuff for him! "Santino, don't hover." Susumu warned, looking at him sternly before his expression relaxed a little. The Purugly meant well, but seeing such a panicked reaction was only making him want to freak out, and he hated it. Especially when a girl was around; so of course naturally he had some male pride to defend and prove.
"It's just a flesh wound." He explained, a bit startled with the sudden reaction from the girl as she rushed towards him, telling him not to move. Ok, he wasn't planning on moving much anyways unless it involved getting his first-aid kit from his bag. At the very least he had disinfectant and something to try and clot it, but from the look in her eyes, she seemed to know what she was doing. He'd let her try to handle it, even if he hardly knew her. "R-Right." He winced, feeling a little nauseous at the blood on his clothes, but he was fine. It was fine. She seemed to have her own materials on hand, looked like a better quality kind of thing than what he had anyways, and as she approached with a wet cloth he mentally braced himself for whatever she was gonna do---owww he didn't brace himself enough.
He could feel the wound get cleaned and it made him flinch, trying to not show too much pain as he faked a smile through it all. Yeah, he was fine. Really. He almost thought Lillian was going to tackle him as she rushed at him with the bandage, before catching herself and becoming more hesitant. "Hah, calm down. I'm alive." He joked, not wanting her to panic herself by rushing into everything. He complied and moved his arm the best he could without pain, though of course it made him want to slam his fist into the ground with the simple motion. She bandaged it pretty good, admiring it a little as he tried to distract himself from how much of a sap he was when it came to pain. "You've done this before, huh?" Asking her with a forced chuckle, trying to keep his mind off of this as he decided that it was too weird to watch her work on his arm. Instead the wall was so fucking fascinating, he had to stare at it some more.
<Hrm...> The Purugly frowned at how the Horsea was able to help Susumu out with his Water Gun, while he was stuck being scolded for worrying over him. The Purugly sighed heavily to himself as he continued work on the wall, needing to do something if he wanted to feel useful in this situation.

l i l l i a n g r o v e s Lillian heard his explanation but it didn't affect her excitement in the slightest. If she caused the problem, she was bent on fixing it, especially if it affected someone else. As she worked on his wound she noticed his smile and saw through it, seeing subtle signs of pain on his face. But if he could still smile through it, she supposed it wasn't too bad of a wound. "I know, but.." She answered his urge to calm down, letting out a small chuckle to show that she knew she might've been overreacting.
The Audino morph winced a little as he lifted his arm, imagining how painful it must've been to move it. Ugh, she wished that it had happened to her instead. Then she wouldn't have to feel so guilty. She bandaged the wound from his shoulder to his tricep, and after a little bit she heard his question ring in the air. Not daring to take her eyes off her work, she answered, "Yeah. I always wanted to be a nurse." She explained, a tinge of disappointment in her voice as she remembered how that had failed. At least as a trainer she could still help people.
After a few layers of bandage, she stopped, certain that it was adequate. She stared at the wound for a moment, her hands lingering over it as though she wanted to continue working on it, but she realized that that was all she could do. "There." She said, just to confirm that she was done as she put the bandages and dressing materials away. Giving him a serious look, she said, "I can do the rest myself if you want." She was still worried for him as she picked up the pickaxe, using Trickle's water gun to wash poor Susumu's blood splatter off of it before she began hitting the wall again. The tink, tink of shards had become more vivid than it was when they first began. They'd struck gold!
And Trickle continued blissfully water gunning, humming a working song to himself.

Hm, she didn't look much older than he was, but she said she wanted to be a nurse? He endured it and glanced over at her way, doing his best to ignore the sight of his wound as she worked on bandaging it up. It was sad, the way she said that one line. It was as if it was a dream she had given up on, well, she must've given up on it, considering where they were right now. "Shame you aren't, seems like you'd be good at it." He commented, feeling like his arm was much more comfortable than when it was throbbing in pain from the impact of metal to flesh. It still could've been a worse injury, but it was enough to make his pain sensors fire off like rockets. Not only that, but he was supposed to be digging this entire time. How was he going to manage doing that now, of all things?
"You sure you can finish it up?" He asked, feeling shitty that he had to leave Lillian to do the rest by herself. Well, not that she was exactly alone. Santino and Trickle were working together to give her all of the aide she needed, but the fact that he had to sit it out bothered him. It felt pretty stupid leaving it all up to the girl while he was stuck being a dumb leech on the ground, shaking his head in defeat when he realized that it would've been smart not to exert that kind of force on his arm.
He'd probably have to take it easy for the rest of the day, how annoying. Leaning against the wall as he watched her work, his eyes lit up at the sight of reoccurring sparkles in the earth. It really looked like they found the spot that was prime for shards! <Ha! So this is what we're looking for!> Santino exclaimed, excited as he started to use his Fury Swipes furiously against the wall, finding that it was soft enough to move out of the way with his claws. They were really coming into view now...!

l i l l i a n g r o v e s Lillian heard his compliment, and it rang in her ears. It meant a lot to her that he said that - probably more than he thought. She gave him a genuine smile when he said that. "Thanks." She said in her chime of a voice before she went to hit the wall again.
"Yeah." She answered, taking care to pay close attention to her pickaxe this time. If she hurt anyone else in here she wouldn't forgive herself. She destroyed chunks of dirt with the axe now, feeling it become less stable as they began to uncover more and more shards. Some even glowed, reflecting their beautiful light upon every surface in their vicinity. Trickle looked extra excited as he continued blasting water at the wall, even spraying at the partly uncovered shards to clean the extra dirt off their surfaces.
After a little while longer, Lillian realized that the shards were threatening to fall out of the loose hole they'd made. She set the pickaxe down on the floor gently before reaching out and collecting whatever number of shards they'd gotten. "We're done," She announced in a tone of relief and joy. They'd gotten more than she expected.

Oddly enough she seemed really happy to hear him say that, though after thinking about it for a few seconds it did make sense why it would perk up her mood. He watched a little solemnly from against the wall as he stared quietly at the wall, eyes only widening when more shards started to spill out. Were they really almost done with it all? Santino gave him an encouraging toothy smile, raising a paw to eye level and giving him a thumbs up as Lillian struck at the wall in the background. Tail twitching happily as the Purugly started to paw at the delicate shards so they would carefully spill out, it appeared that the work for this day was done. Well, unless they kept going at it for more time.
Susumu honestly wasn't sure if he'd stick around for so long, mostly concerned about his arm for the day as he awkwardly stood up and walked towards the pile, grinning at the pretty sparkles they emitted. They definitely looked valuable, but they should definitely split it fairly between each other. It would only be fair, and well, right. "We did good, thanks for finishing that up." He chuckled, noticing how his Purugly hovered over him as the cat's eyes glistened with intense interest towards the shards. They were so pretty and sparkly, he wanted to have a few for himself!
"I uh, never got your name. I'm Susumu." He grinned, though to some it probably sounded like 'Shamu'. You know. Like the whale. He looked at Lillian curiously, wondering if she'd even bother to introduce herself. He wasn't sure how to read a personality like hers, but it felt rude not to ask her name after all of this.
