Seamus walked into the trainer's lounge looking a bit hot and sweaty, especially since he had walked a long way to get here from the subway. The second he was in the air conditioning it was all a relief, though the club music was a bit threatening. 'Are we supposed to like this music?' Was it even music? He groaned and signed up for the first room he could, which happened to have a few conditions. Kindle the Hoppip was released and he started to anxiously fly back and forth in the room.

::hoppip:: Level 13|Male |Chlorophyll|Leaf Guard| Splash|Encore| Double Edge|Cotton Guard Synthesis|Tail Whip|Tackle|Poison Powder Personality: A toddler that is still learning how to speak and interact with others, he is generally sleepier than most blissful youngsters. Seamus is extremely kind to Kindle, and the Hoppip's happiness reflects that.

Tristan walked into the stadium, scratching his head and yawning. He was feeling groggy from a nap he took earlier, but nevertheless he was awake. "That was a good na-" What he awoke to was some club music that sounded more like a computer humping a sound board, if anything. Nevertheless, he was ready to battle. And so he sent out Jet, the tyrogue. "...you're move. Ugh....man, its a hassle sometimes."

The only one he would really listen to, communicate with would be Tristan due to him taking him in from the Pokémon shop as well as a sparring partner. He acts calm, collected, and focused. Fights to be a top rung fighting type Pokémon. He still has emotional outbursts, which are quite prominent due to his current stage, and he thinks that they rarely occur. However, its more often than he thinks due to his nature. Also has a rivalry and rooted hate for the unserious nature of Tony. Those two are polar opposites in personality. This battle wasn't going to end well, especially with such a lazy looking foe on the other side of the room. The Tyrogue looked a little more determined, but he didn't frighten the Hoppip at all. Kindle smiled in his friendly, cute demeanor and chirped out a greeting. Did he get to go first this time? Ok, yay! The Hoppip went on an impulse and started to use the new move that he learned. Leaves shaking, catching Seamus off guard, the Hoppip started off with a poison powder against the fighting type. Probably a bad idea if the fighting type had guts, but hey, Kindle and Seamus didn't know about that part.

Not much of a threat, it seems. Perhaps that was too early of a judgment as he noticed the cloud of poisonpowder headed his way. Not much of a problem. Yeah Ted, I hope you don't treat most toddlers like that on a daily basis. The Hoppip didn't expect to be hit so harshly by the Tyrogue and was thrown backwards pretty high up. Kindle whimpered from the blow, feeling sore on his side because he didn't expect the fighting type to dodge and hit him like that. He remembered how Seamus usually told him to battle, so he went with what was more familiar to him. Leaves twirling around to keep him steady in mid air, he wiggled his slender tail cutely at Jet to try and cheer him up. <Ok!> He squeaked, flying downwards in a semi-casual dive bomb at him. The Tackle would hopefully be a bit stronger due to the Tail Whip, but he couldn't be sure.

It seemed as though his opponent wasn't very conditioned to battle. Nevertheless, an opponent is an opponent. He needed to train. But, what could he get out of this battle? Maybe he should take it easy? He sighed, before looking at tail moving in tempo. Next thing he knew, he was struck by a tackle in the abdomen, causing him to skid back. It was a surprise to him, but it was an attack. He glared at the hoppip again, before rushing for a swift bullet punch.

Seamus watched quietly from the background as Kindle was struck with a pretty powerful Bullet Punch; which was so fast that the Hoppip could hardly see it. He didn't expect it at all, and the small Hoppip ended up whimpering and trembling after being hit. He carefully got back up, not wanting to let down Seamus in the slightest, and he only stared submissively at his opponent. Kindle was thinking about what to try next, and not so cleverly ended up charging right ahead at the Tyrogue with a risky Double Edge. He knew it would end up hurting him, but he didn't know what else to do.

What was the look that his opponent gave him? Was that a kind of insulting look? Did not matter, as the battle was at hand and it was too annoying to think about it. Jet, all the while, watched the hoppip make his move. Quietly, he breathed in, then breathed out as he tried side stepped the move. That did not seem possible as he tensed too much and could not move. Before he knew it, he was on the ground in pain. <You.....that was a strong attack.....but that doesn't matter for me!> Suddenly, he unleashed another bullet punch on the hoppip, showing no mercy behind his attack nor change in his demeanor. He remained calm, that is for sure, but was it necessary to use much force?

Ha! Kindle managed to strike his foe with all of the intensity a Double Edge could offer, but of course such a strong move brought consequences to the fragile body of the Hoppip. His ears flattened when he felt the pain strike him again, only feeling a little satisfaction when the Tyrogue acknowledged his attack as a strong one. <T-Thanks.> He managed to chirp out, limited on vocabulary but still getting better thanks to Drilbur. He wiggled his tail in anticipation as the Bullet Punch struck him on the face, sending him flying back into the air! He caught himself, hovering directly above the fighting type as his leaves started to glow. Well, he was getting tired. A little Synthesis wouldn't hurt at all, especially since he didn't know how many of these hits he could take with low defenses.

The last attack he took did quite a bit of damage to him, especially considering his lowered defense. Not to mention his own form still in training and not exactly like the form of his evolutions. He had quite a bit to look forward to. He prepared for his next attack, looking at his opponent. Suddenly, he rushed for a tackle attack, hoping to bring the opponent down a notch. It wasn't much, but it was some variety at least.

The Hoppip reeled back from the force of the tackle, but luckily his health was good enough so that he was able to endure it. His arsenal of attacks was vastly superior compared to the Tyrogue after all, but the intelligence and wisdom department was simply lacking. Nor was Kindle exactly the most motivated fighter, since he preferred to just battle with the word 'fun' in mind. Hopping back towards the fighting type with an energetic giggle, he started to clap his hands together with confetti shaking out of his leaves. <Good job! Good job!> He repeated, just some basic vocabulary that he was picking up on. He wasn't thinking through using his Encore much, but hey, it was something.

Suddenly, his guard was let down when he was applauded for. He looked around, watching as the confetti fell around him. <.....> He did not know what to say. It was something odd for him, since he never really felt this much praise. Though he knew he had a battle to fight, he may as well entertain the hoppip with another tackle attack. Maybe this could be a fun battle, using tackle many times. It was as if he could not stop tackling at all. |

Kindle was starting to get battered again by all of those Tackle, and he felt as if he needed some protection. He was worried about pain, and this one move was really good at blocking it out. He didn't fully understand Cotton Guard's limits, but he knew that he could use it in a spot like this. Holding his breath, his leaves started to tremble as cotton grew on it, puffing up and popping! It suddenly attached to his body like tape, and its fluffy structure managed to boost his defenses to a point where even he could withstand some tackles with ease. He grinned as he saw the Tyrogue affected by the Encore, and energetically hopped after him with another Tackle. Kindle wasn't going down without a fight!

Perhaps it was from the cotton spore coupled with the tiny body of the hoppip? Or maybe it was due to his typing. In any case, he watched the hoppip bounce around in its cotton armor, as if it were satisfied with its tackle attack. With the encore affecting his body and mind, he thought that he should show what a real tackle attack was. He rushed into the battle, using yet another tackle attack. He could not do anything else, and he felt the obligation of showing what a tackle attack was. He seemed unaware of the encore. |

The Hoppip was glad to have made that Tackle attack, but the Tyrogue simply wasn't giving up! He wasn't sure how to react to such a stubborn opponent, especially since he wasn't the most spirited Pokemon himself. He shook his head, leaves tilting all over the place as he tried to regain a sense of why he was doing this in the first place. One look at his father told him why, and he couldn't help but whimper as he turned back to face the fighting type. Oh no, it was coming after him again! The tackle struck him fast in the chest, but his bouncy armor kept him fairly well protected. He didn't like the pain very much, but he was getting better at handling it. Chirping, he turned around and started lashing his tail at the Tyrogue to try and get him to back off. Kindle wasn't going to have any of this.

He slowly breathed in and out, concentrating on the battle, but the confidence seemed to have overcome him somehow. He smiled, something he would rarely do, and looked at the hoppip. Before he could do anything, however, he was hypnotized the wagging tail of his opponent. It was strange, but nothing to slow him down. <Try me with that again...not gonna stop my tackle!> And Jet quickly rushed for a third tackle attack. AS he attacked, he felt that something was wrong. Why was he feeling stronger feelings of confidence and giddiness? Why did he say that line out loud? HE was suddenly aware of the encore that held his body and mind. He shook it off, ready to fight properly. <It was a nice tactic...> |

Kindle blinked at the Tyrogue's odd comments about his own tackle and giggled, realizing that he was being super silly as he thought tackle was the most awesome thing ever. The Hoppip gleefully hopped to the side, now used to the Tyrogue's attacking patterns due to the Encore and had a good sense of what was going on. As Kindle gently hovered into the air, he swooped upside down with a playful laugh as he chased after the Tyrogue upside down. His leaves twisted extremely fast as another Poison Powder started to blow after the Tyrogue, planning on getting him before the fighting type could run after him again. He quickly blocked, but felt nothing from what seemed to be a tackle attack. Suddenly, he went on one knee, breathing in the poison spores into his nose and mouth. He coughed a little before he suddenly stood up, eyes dilated and red. He shouted loudly, feeling both poison and power coursing through his veins. His anger and power rose when the poison took effect. Guts was activated and he could not control himself. HE suddenly glared at the hoppip before running towards it. Suddenly, he gave a powerful bullet punch, trying to knock down a few notches. The poison may have hurt, but he was too angry to notice. Finally the Poison Powder hit, but Kindle wasn't aware that the Tyrogue happened to have an ability to give it a bit of an edge! As guts kicked in, the Tyrogue bolted at the Hoppip once more with a Bullet Punch for a speedy hit, knocking Kindle lower to the ground as the stubborn Hoppip fought against the strike. He might've been young and pitiful, but he wanted to believe in himself. As a child, naturally he believed that the world revolved around him. For him to actually lose always came as a shock, and he felt his innocence change into random emotional bursts. He was whimpering again at the hit, and instinctively he bulked himself up once more to try and save himself from those attack.
