{desc=pokemorph who is trainer yay}Name: Jade Almandine
Gender: Female
Species: Lucario Pokemorph
Age: 13, but is mentally and physically 16
Birthdate: January 21
Appearance: Jade has an overall scrawny build, while being a bit short, making her overall small. She has muscle on her, but it’s hard to tell. Her hands and feet are a bit oversized for her build. Her face is slightly sharp, almost hawkish, with her eyes fairly prominent (when not covered by sunglasses) and her nose a bit pointed. She has dark blue hair that is shoulder-length and cut neatly with bangs (though it fluffs up haphazardly at the tips, making it seem shorter), and prominent blue canine ears that can tilt to catch sound. Her eyes are blood-red and unfocused- she’s blind, and has to rely on her hearing, sense of smell, and ability to sense auras to get around. Extremely fine black fur surrounds her eyes, and is also visible on the backs of her hands and her ankles and the tops of her feet. She has a small spike on the back of each hand, and a third on her chest between where her breasts would be if she wasn’t flat as an ironing board. She also has a dark blue tail. She buys only clothing in dark blue and shades of gray (asks other people about the colors) so that she never has mismatched outfits, and loves wearing cargo shorts/pants.
Personality: Jade, when one first meets her, comes across as generally well-mannered, formal, and polite, though with a bit of a hidden snarky wit. She has a sharp mind, and misses nothing, often remembering details that others didn’t even catch. This politeness is all an act, though- annoy her enough, or get to know her and get her away from strangers, and she shows her true colors. Yes, she is still snarky and very attentive, but she is quite prickly, aggressive, hotheaded, and impulsive. She is not terribly book-smart, not having much of an opportunity to learn, and is rather naïve to the ways of the world. She has very low self-esteem- this is much of why she hides her inner anger with the world and with life in general under a polite mask. She gets very lonely and depressed if entirely without any contact with others, but is just fine with having only one or two friends. If someone becomes truly trusted by Jade, she reveals that she really is nice deep down, and can be very protective and caring in a rough, almost embarrassed-to-be-feeling-it way. She can be rather violent when protecting herself or someone she really cares about.
Background: Once, in a faraway region that nobody cares about, there was a wealthy, affluent city. This city was run by an extremely wealthy family who had another family (the Almandines) practically enslaved to them by debt and employed as their servants.
A particularly spoiled member of the wealthy family had learned of a wondrous technology that could merge human and Pokemon DNA to create a hybrid creature with the intellect of a human and an appearance and some abilities more like a Pokemon’s, that aged rapidly for the first three years of life so they could be useful earlier. So he took the rarest, coolest Pokemon he could find (a Lucario) and had an Almandine act as surrogate mother to carry the genetic abominations he had purchased.
Thus Jade and her fraternal twin Pearl were born. While Pearl was everything the young man had hoped for- healthy, bright, and with a great deal of Pokemon evident in her looks- Jade was thin, had few visible Pokemon traits, and had poor vision that degenerated into blindness within the first three years of her life. As such, she was given away as a “white elephant” gift at a Christmas party of snobby rich families. She never saw Pearl again, but resentment towards her for being better lingered in her. Raised as a servant from then on, she had to be courteous and obedient while her thoughts grew bitterer. She had very few friends, and lost them often (servant families moved away, some kids started Pokemon journeys, one stood too close to the intake on a small plane during an engine test), and started to develop a mild violent streak. She kept this well-hidden, though.
Jade eventually honed her innate aura abilities to read and “see” auras. While she could never bring back the colors she only vaguely remembered from her first years of life, she could detect people and Pokemon with ease, and if she focused hard enough, could even recognize the edges of solid objects.
One of the children of the family she had been given to took an interest in her, and the two of them became friends, as the child thought of her as a friend and playmate, not as a novelty item or a servant. Eventually, the kid and Jade grew older, and the kid wanted to leave to become a Pokemon trainer, and suggested that Jade do the same. They didn’t stay together- the friend went to Hoenn, while Jade came here. She didn’t mind this too much- what’s losing another friend when you’ve lost so many and you’re gaining your freedom?
Info: Blind, but can see auras. No pre-starter. I drew that picture.
