Full Name: Avon Lee Clark
Gender: Male
Age: 17 / February 1st
Appearance:
Short, bright red hair caressing pale white skin is normally the first thing people notice about Avon, his appearance. Around his friends Avon was usually at least a head taller and would often have to bend or crouch a little when pictures were taken. At one hundred fifty one pounds, he is quite thin and lanky for a boy his age, lean you could say, having long legs and long arms. Avon has a strong chin and high cheekbones, classic Irish features in his opinion, but he has one dislike about his appearance, the way his ears stick out a bit. The feature he most likes about himself is his eyes, he's been told so often by his aunt and girls in general that his eyes are pretty, and he feels flattered by that fact.
Wearing suits and ties isn't something Avon does often, but will do if the occasion calls for it. Avon likes wearing baggy pants and t-shirts that often display slogans, bands, or signs of some kind. Jeans are definitely preferred over dress pants or khakis, and he always wears socks and shoes when not swimming or sleeping. Colors are important to Avon, and his wardrobe contains a lot of color, his favorite being yellow. Avon is the boy who will wear tie dye with pride. Lacking any tattoos or piercings, he does have a small clover shaped pink birthmark on the bottom of his left foot. A watch on his wrist is the the most jewelry you'll ever find Avon wearing, he doesn't wear necklaces or bracelets, it just isn't a habit.
Sitting casually with his shoulders slumped, legs parted, and with a relaxed posture, you aren't likely to ever find Avon sitting with his back straight. Whether he's working on something, hanging out, or just sitting somewhere he prefers to sit comfortably, and if he gets uncomfortable sitting in one position, he changes positions. If he has to get to a class or appointment Avon walks briskly and takes long strides, but if he's just out walking leisurely or has nowhere to be he takes shorter steps and takes his time, he pretty much goes with the flow of life. When sitting down he is most comfortable with his hands resting on his lap, and if he has music playing you'll see him tapping his thighs along with the music. What else does he do while leisurely listening to music and tapping his hands against his lap? He might just bring his hands up before his chest, make fists, and then move his fists up and down before him while elevating one shoulder and lowering the other, it's a quirk he has that even he finds amusing.
Background:
Avon was born mute and as a baby was never heard when he cried. His mother had him and raised him until he was three, at which time he was given to his aunt Karen, his biological father's sister, to raise. When he was given to his aunt to raise his mother made his aunt promise not to tell her brother that he was the father, but that promise would eventually be broken. Avon's aunt Karen raised him as her own son though always made sure he knew she was his aunt, not his mom. After he was given to his aunt, Avon's mother has had little to do with him, always being too busy with work or going to a party somewhere. As for his father, his aunt Karen let him know of Avon's existence, but because Avon was born out of wedlock his father wanted nothing to do with him. It was a matter of pride and belief on his fathers part because that was the way his father had been raised, plus there was the fact that Avon's mother was flirting with other men while she was dating his father and had never told him she was pregnant with his child. In the long run Avon's aunt Karen raising him was a good thing because they had a lot of things in common and there was a good resemblance.
From a very young age both at home and in school Avon has been taught and has been using sign language. His disability was a problem in class in his opinion, being the only person in class who needed an interpreter there to tell other people what he said using sign language was embarrassing, it made him stand out.. No matter where he went in school, what class he was, the interpreter was there, and he found her to be a distraction because he had to keep looking between his interpreter and either his work or his friends. There were positive things about having the interpreter around, she would drive him to school, was there to help him with his homework, and would drive him home from school if he aunt was at work when school let out. By the time he felt relatively normal even with his interpreter, Elana following him around. He had learned how to focus on his friends and his school work and not on Elena.
When he was at home alone Avon played video games or would go hang out with friends at the mall or bowling alley. Avon's aunt's allergy to fur is what kept him from having a Pokémon when he was at home, but when he hung out with his friends or went out in public he would see people with Pokémon. He has always liked pokemon, and when his friends needed someone to care for their Pokémon while they were away they usually asked him to do so. Watching television was something Avon normally did in the evening, he loved watching the news and anything that had to do with Pokémon. What he enjoyed about the Pokémon shows was the music and performances the Pokémon and their trainers put on. Seeing people in oddly named regions showing their pokémon in a way that entertained a crowd really amused Avon, and he felt inspired to follow the same path. His friends were always talking about Pokémon shows they had watched or the Pokémon they read about while Avon listened, his excitement and curiosity growing as he did so. With his aunt going back to school and moving away, Avon knew it was time to step out into the world and make a name for himself. It was time for him to begin his journey, so that's exactly what he's doing.
Personality:
Being successful at the things he does is something Avon likes, and often smiles about. When he does something well and is praised for it he will sometimes do a little victory dance with his fists at his side and shaking his head side to side, other times he will put his fists in the air and mouth the word 'yes', it all depends on how he feels at the time of the victory or achievement. If he is proud of the work he's done Avon likes to show other people what he did, he knowledge that he did it, made it, or made it work being something he likes to share with others, especially when they compliment him on it. Avon dealing with stress is a bit difficult to describe, he tends to bite his nails a bit and slide his hands back through his hair. When stress is really getting to him he had a tendency to take a short but deep breath, then shutting out the world by ignoring those around him while attempting to focus intently on the task at hand. If someone speaks to him or catches him during a stressful time he gives them a look that says 'can't you see I'm doing something?' in the hopes that they'll look for someone else to help them or talk to. He's a goal driven individual who likes to not only get work done, but to do it well and in a way that he's satisfied with the work he's done.
Arguing and fighting during a discussion or talk isn't one of Avon's strong points, if you upset him enough or make him mad enough he assumes a 'fuck you' attitude and walks away from you. If you're one of those people who follows others around trying to apologize repeatedly, he will continue walking away from you and will pretend he doesn't hear you. Avon is a guy who doesn't like to talk or discuss something once he's walked away from the person and topic he had been discussing or arguing about, he likes to drop the subject and focus his attention elsewhere. If you're asking about physical strife, Avon would rather avoid it because he isn't that great of a fighter, he's the one who usually gets pummeled and not the one who does the pummeling. If you want to motivate Avon to do something, make it sound like or look like fun. There are times he doesn't want to do things, but if you come to an agreement with him that if he does it he gets a reward of some kind, one he likes, he'll do it. He's motivated by fun and treats, very easy to please and if you do it correctly very easy to persuade to work.
Upsetting Avon is hard to do though can be done, it all depends how you do it. Taking Avon's music player, cell phone, or Pokémon is one way to upset him and get on his nerves very quickly. In the past his aunt has used the taking of his music player as punishment, and he hates when people take away his music. If you do take his music from him Avon will feel like crying, but he won't, he'll suffer it out while trying to pretend it doesn't affect him. When you finally give it back to him, he smiles again as if you've given him a gift. The death of other people or their relatives doesn't bother him much, unless he was close to the person or people who died. If someone he cares about dies Avon won't cry where others can see him, he'll breakdown when he's alone, wanting to remember the good times he had with the person or people who are deceased. When his uncle died he grieved for a day then went around like normal, business as usual. Avon is lazy when he wants to be though is also the one who gets his work done when it counts. His friends describe him as a funny, fun, intelligent, and friendly person, as would his family. Avon tends to make friends easily but if he doesn't like someone or is at odd with them he does his best to stay away from them and to keep them out of his business, he hates nosy people.
