He had to dust off a couple of these poke'balls. They weren't exactly team members that he used all that often. And truth be told, he felt bad about that. So was this some ill-guided attempted to soothe his own conscious and sleep peacefully at night? Well he'd never had trouble sleeping before... but just holding Scyther or Turtwig's poke'ball made him feel a little bit better. Raff waited around to see who would dare show up to his ridiculous challenge. He set all six of his poke'balls at his feet, and then stood up to look at them. He nudged them close together with his feet and then rolled out the poke'ball for his Sneasel, separating it from the rest. Use Tucker first? He decided against that and just let the balls sit as they were, he'd surprise himself when he decided who to start with.

Tyro made his way through the halls, looking for a certain room. he'd been told that there was somebody looking for an opponent to train some of their weaker Pokemon. He couldn't help but think that this may be the perfect opportunity to get some of his more neglected Pokemon some extra training as well. And on top of that, even his stronger Pokemon like Lan, Haru and Jason would hopefully get a workout as well. As he finally found the correct room, he opened the door and stepped inside. He saw another man at the other side of the room. He didn't know his name yet, but the person he was looking at was none other than Raff. He walked across the room. "Hey, are you the guy who wanted six one on one battles or something like that?" he asked. It never hurt to make sure he had the right room. He reached down to his belt and felt around his Pokeballs. He didn't really have six Pokemon that he would use reliably, but he had five and an extra. He opened them, one at a time, so that he wouldn't have to mess around with the Pokeballs themselves when dealing with the switches. This way, he'd only have to pull one out at a time to return a defeated or exhausted Pokemon. "You're in the right place." Raff welcomed the trainer with a moderately friendly greeting. Maybe if he knew Tyro a bit better he would have been even more friendly and welcoming, but this guy was a stranger, and the only reason they were meeting was to pit their poke'mon against each other. Raff knew as well as everyone else who came into these rooms that they weren't here to make friends. He knelt down beside his pile of poke'balls and picked out the one containing his Scyther. He gentle threw it onto the field and the large green insect popped out of his ball with a bright flash of light. Greystone stretched out his arms, his large scythes catching the light and becoming slightly translucent.

Tyro nodded in response. "Heh. Good to know. The name's Tyro. I'm still trying to get these Pokémon off of the ground and help them get stronger. I'm assuming that's pretty much what you're here for too." He looked on as his opponent selected the first Pokémon he would be using. He smiled a bit. A Scyther huh? It was actually kind of exciting to see one. Though he was good about not showing said excitement. He had actually really wanted to get a Scyther for himself one of these days. But for now, he had to focus on the task at hand. He looked at his six Pokémon. Okay, Haru, why don't you start us off?"[/b] Haru nodded and stepped forward. The Lucario hadn't seen any action in a long time, and he was really looking forward to this. He smirked a bit and crossed his arms. <Heheh...if you want to get out of a world of pain, I'd just give it up now. Just think of this as a...fair warning.> His smirk stopped and he crouched down a bit, moving one foot forward slightly, and lifting one arm over his head, bending it in an L-shape at the elbow. He clenched this paw into a fist. At the same time, he extended his other out in front of him, palm out. He was ready for action. "And I'm Raff." The blond trainer gave a small nod and crossed his arms over his chest with a boyish grin on his face. "I'm going to need to dust off a few of these poke'balls." He said with a chuckle. It was embarrassing to him, he hoped that he could maybe at least show off a bit and make up for that. Meanwhile Greystone was sizing up the Lucario that had been sent out. He scoffed at the fight type's ... what did he call it? A warning? He tossed his nose into the air and lifted one of his scythe's to look at it, admiring it. <I'll thank you for that if you can actually knock me out.> He chuckled and glanced back at Raff, waiting for a command.
"Start with a focus energy, then attack quickly." Raff said sharply, in a voice way more serious than any he'd used before. The Scyther obeyed, dropping down his one arm he stood in a very stoic position, evening out his breathing and smiling. When he sprang to life it was with great speed. His body became blurry as he jumped at the tall blue poke'mon, ready to attack with his huge claws.

Tyro smirked a bit. "I get the feeling that I'll be doing the same eventually. I prefer just using Pokemon I like...while keeping as much of a balance on my team as I can, that is. So I'll probably be leaving Pokemon in my PC eventually...." At that thought, he looked over at Lucario again, still thinking. Perhaps he could actually use any extra Pokemon to battle and help other Trainers who are weaker...? Eh, it was a thought at least. He wasn't sure what he would be doing with that, but he didn't really care much either. He quickly shook his head and turned his attention back to the match at hand. He needed to stay focused in case Haru needed his guidance. Haru smirked at his opponent's words and movements. He decided not to respond to the words, but he crossed his arms and readied himself to take the hit as his Trainer called out the command. If he could take this attack and keep himself from hesitating, he could end up dealing a strong blow right here and now. He felt the Scyther hit him hard with the Quick Attack...but thankfully, he was a Steel-type Pokemon. So the damage from the attack was halved. He smirked and managed to keep his ground, only sliding backward a slight amount. Although it was a little bit stronger than expected. Probably due to the Scyther's Technician ability. He smirked and quickly brought his hands down and put them together. Between them, he formed a dark aura. He smirked and thrust his palms at Greystone's stomach, trying to slam him with a close-range Dark Pulse. ::Lucario:: Abilities: Inner Focus, Steadfast Hit by Quick Attack! {It's not very effective!} Used Dark Pulse Feeling confident

(fine by me!) Greystone took the blast of dark energy to the chest and it pushed him backwards. He was slid across the battle room floor and in true dramatic styling he stopped with his feet spread wide, keeping his balance, and with a small cloud of dust around his feet. His green skin, where the blast had hit, was darkened and looked more grey than normal. Greystone was panting a bit. Raff gave a short command, knowing the power that a Lucario could possibly hold. "Use a leer and then attack again." He would need to get Lucario's defenses down, if not for Greystone than for whoever came out next to fight him.
The large insect looked up into Lucario's eyes and narrowed his own, giving the angriest leer he could manage. He returned to a more normal position, spreading his two pairs of wings out behind him. They began to flutter rapidly, like dragonfly wings, and he rushed foreword towards Lucario- lifting himself up into the air he came down on the fighting poke'mon with an aerial ace attack, using his scythes as much as he could.

The Lucario smirked. This was going to be an easy battle. There was no way this Scyther's attacks were going to deal much damage. His only hope was if he could strike at Haru's weak spots multiple times over. he crouched down again, readying himself. He could see the marks left from his Dark Pulse attack, and that pleased him. <Seems like it's obvious which one of our attacks was stronger.> he said with a cocky attitude and while he sported a smirk. <I think it's obvious which one of us-> But he cut himself off. His trainer was giving him commands again. He took the Leer attack, but tried to shake it off. He couldn't be intimidated so easily.... But regardless, he instinctively let his guard down a bit, lowering his Defense. He smirked and readied himself. This was going to be interesting. He saw the Scyther start rushing at him. But this time, he was even faster than before. He knew there was no chance he was going to dodge this. Then again, he could always use his Aura and detect his opponent's thought and attack pattern. With that, he'd be able to Detect his opponent's actions and thus evade it. But he figured that wouldn't be necessary. If he could take this hit, he could land another close-range attack, just like last time. He crossed his arms and braced himself.... Unfortunately, the sheer power of the attack took him by surprise. He felt the Scyther's scythes slash at him, and then he felt the power behind it. He let out a loud cry of pain as the attack hit him and he was slammed backward by the force of the attack. He let out a second, pained cry as his back collided hard enough with the wall to leave marks. He fell forward and onto his knees. There was no way his attack should have been that powerful...! How was that possible!? Now, he was frustrated. He was also too busy being flustered and caught off-guard that he wasn't able to pick himself up and get in an attack of his own. He simply glared up at the Scyther with a fierce growl, but said nothing. ::Lucario:: Abilities: Inner Focus, Steadfast Hit by Leer and Aerial Ace! {Critical Hit!} Too shocked from the power to counter On his knees against the wall

<My bad.> Greystone said with a chuckle. <You were saying something?> Even the Scyther's trainer couldn't help but smirk at the success of his poke'mon's attack. How... delightful? Especially since Lucario was resistant to so many types, a little bit of extra damage and serious power wasn't going to go unappreciated. "Keep it up Greystone." He encouraged his Scyther, but let the large green insect take care of the fighting himself. So far he was doing an alright job... why ruin that?
Greystone stood still and crossed his scythes in front of his body. This wasn't all necessary, but he felt like showing off a bit. It didn't look like Lucario was getting up anytime soon. With one swift motion he dropped his scythes down to his sides. It was so fast that it wouldn't be visible to the humans, but maybe to Lucario if he was paying attention. As his scythes cut the air it sucked away some from the space in front of him and sent a vacuum wave of power towards the fallen Lucario.

Tyro watched the battle with folded arms. So far, it was a very interesting one, to be certain. Although, he couldn't help but notice something. His opponent didn't seem to call out many commands either. Just like him, he seemed to prefer letting his Pokemon fight for themselves. Tyro couldn't help but smirk a bit at that. He seemed to have plenty in common with this guy. Perhaps he could get to know him a little bit better later on. He was sure, at the very least, that Haru would want a rematch if he lost. And at the rate this was going, that would certainly be the case. Haru growled as the Scyther started speaking to him so smugly. <J-just because you got ONE lucky hit doesn't mean anything...! I'm still going to beat you to a pulp! ESPECIALLY after that!> But before he could respond, the Scyther had crossed his arms in front of him. Haru wasn't sure what was coming, but he knew it wasn't going to be good. He prepared himself as Greystone brought his blades down and sent a Vacuum Wave at him. Of course, he couldn't really see the attack, but he knew it was coming. Haru lifted his arms up and tried to take the hit. The blast hit him hard, and he could feel the damage...but thankfully, Scyther weren't exactly known for their special strength. Regardless, the Fighting-type attack did enough of a number anyway. Haru growled once more and slowly got back to his feet. <...I'll get you for THAT, too!> he spat. He quickly lifted an arm out to his side. From the spike on the back of his hand emerged three silver claws of energy. He quickly jumped forward, lunging at Greystone and trying to slash him hard across the face with a Metal Claw attack. ::Lucario:: Haru; Lv. 11 Abilities: Inner Focus, Steadfast Hit by Vacuum Wave! {It's Super Effective!} Used Metal Claw on Greystone! Greystone was getting rather cocky. He felt as if he was invincible, like nothing in the world could harm him. He laughed in the face of danger. Ha! Lucarios weren't so tough, not for the ninja of attack Greystone the Scyther! And then he was smacked in the face with Lucario's claws. Were they harder than normal? It was like he had just ran into a beam. What happened to being invincible? Greystone was upset. He shook his head around and tried to straighten out his vision. His eyes felt like they were swimming and he was actually a little nauseated by it all.
<You're... you're...> He panted and grinned like a Cheshire cat. <Just jealous that when I evolve I'll be a better steel type than you.> He finished with a big smirk and an arm cross across his chest. And to even further assert his dominance over Haru, he didn't even attack this turn. He didn't think that he needed to in order to beat Lucario. He just leered at Haru, mocking him and trying to make the verbal wounds sink in deeper. Drive the knife in, drive it.

Haru let a smirk cross his face as his metallic claws slashed across Greystone's smirking face. Oh how satisfying it felt to feel his claws rake against the Scyther's head. He could tell that his attack had hit firmly and hard, and that made him smirk even more in satisfaction. If this Scyther was invincible, then he was surely just as invincible. So then...how would this turn out? Would the two of them just continue to trade blows until one of them finally decided to just give up? Pft, Haru laughed at the thought...inwardly, that is. If he was ever going to give up, it would be because he WANTED the other person to win, not because he felt he COULDN'T win. And let's face it...there was no WAY he was going to fall at this Greystone's (or whatever it was that he called himself) feet. He wouldn't dare give him the pleasure. But then Haru saw it. The wide grin upon the Scyther's face that pissed him off. At the Scyther's words, he couldn't help but turn slightly red in the face at the thought of Greystone as a Scizor, humiliating him in battle. He shook his head and growled angrily. <N-no, that's NEVER going to happen!> he growled, trying to shake his head clear of such thoughts. <Besides, at least I was ABLE to evolve!> Did that really mean anything? Not really. But to him, it was something the Scyther had yet to be able to do, and that was certainly something he had over him. Regardless, the Scyther's "plan" worked just fine, and the Lucario felt the words, as well as the Leering gaze, hit him hard. Growling in frustration, he rushed forward once more. This time, he wasn't thinking ahead of his move. And as a result, he made a rather careless mistake. As he rushed at Greystone, he swung a fist covered in green aura toward the Scyther's stomach, aiming a Drain Punch there. He hadn't taken the Scyther's type advantage into account in his rage and rush to beat on this little bug as hard as he could. ::Lucario:: Abilities: Inner Focus, Steadfast Hit by Leer! Used Drain Punch at Greystone's gut! Furious at his opponent's gloating

Greystone tossed his head into the air and made a 'pft' noise at Haru's verbal comeback attempt. Yeah right. Like it's really hard for him to evolve. "You just have to like your trainer enough. Big deal." Not like he needed some special item or anything like that. He just needed love. How cheesy was that? The ninja-like poke'mon braced himself as Haru came rushing towards him, a fist flying through the air. It made contact with his gut and... it kinda tickled. It hurt a bit, but the sucking away of his own life energy tickled. Probably because... it didn't do that much damage at all, thanks to both of his types having a resistance to fighting type attacks. Scyther chuckled. "Derp." He said to Lucario with a huge grin on his face. And immediately he jumped in for a return attack.
He jumped into the air and his wings began fluttering rapidly. He only lifted himself about two feet into the air before he kicked his legs up behind him, higher than his head. With his scythes out in front of him he quickly performed a close ranged aerial ace attack.

As Haru's fist slammed hard into the Scyther's stomach with all of his muscle...he felt a surprisingly small amount of energy return to him. <Wh-what in the...?> he muttered. Then it hit him. He could have hit himself for the stupid mistake he'd made. But he didn't have to. His opponent would be more than willing to do that for him, apparently. He looked up at the Scyther's grin, and that didn't help his situation. When Greystone jumped away and came down at him with another attack, he knew it was coming...but he couldn't stop it. The Scyther's blades slashed him hard and he let out a loud growl of pain as a result. He was slammed down hard onto his back on the ground. The blow had hurt, but not nearly as much as before. Thankfully, the attack hadn't resulted in a Critical Hit like it had before. But it still hurt. Badly. He winced, but he was too stunned by the blow to attack. He just lay on the ground on his back...unfortunately for him, he happened to be at the Scyther's feet as well, eyes wide with surprise from his unfortunate predicament. This...wasn't good. ( I'm realizing one or two of my pokes will probably gain a level or so before we get to them in this fight xD Would you rather I write down what their stats are right now and use that, or just whatever stats they have when Raff uses them? )
The Scyther chuckled, having every right to be cocky right now. He was standing over his helpless opponent, not being attacked, and feeling pretty good right now. But, despite how confident he was in his victory, he was actually starting to get frustrated. Greystone liked to fight. He loved nothing more than to pick a good fight and get himself dirty and bruised. This... was quickly losing its charm. And despite how badly he wanted to punch the Lucario in the face, he actually stepped away from his opponent and gave him space so that he could stand up. And since he had a few moments to spare, Greystone took this time to focus his energy, calming and channeling himself so that he wouldn't make any stupid mistakes and end up on his back at Haru's feet anytime soon. <Get up.> He hissed at the fighting type poke'mon, stomping a foot on the ground and pointing one of his scythes at him menacingly.

But when the Scyther stepped back without attacking, he couldn't help but wonder what he was up to. Heh...maybe this guy was just looking for a good fight, and wasn't the type of person to attack his opponent while he was down. Maybe he wasn't such a bad guy after all. In fact...now maybe he could start showing him what his REAL talents were in battle. When he heard Greystone's command, he didn't hesitate to obey it. He pushed himself back to his feet, a smirk playing across his face. <Heheh...alright, you want a good fight? ( Sneasel and Lapras, the two lowest leveled poke'mon I plan on using. )
<Bring it.> Greystone snarled in reply and braced himself for the quick attack. Lucario's shoulder struck him on the left side of his chest and it sent him stumbling backwards. He had to spread his wings out and steady himself on the ground with one of his scythes. Didn't feel all that pleasant. Why did he egg the Lucario on? Ugh. Should have just cut his head off when he had the chance to do it. He angrily glared at the fighting type as he panted, trying to catch his breath. <Pathetic quick attack. If I can see you coming it's not fast enough!>
Greystone righted himself and took to the air, much faster on his wings than on his feet. He zipped up towards the ceiling and quickly he reached the apex of his climb and he let himself start falling back towards the ground, twisting his body so he was heading straight down, aiming for Haru. He kept his wings moving, picking up speed as he performed his straight down quick attack. He had more than just damaging intentions when he used the same attack Lucario had just used.

{Hm.... How much will they be increasing by? xD} Haru scowled at the Scyther's response when he hit him with the Quick Attack. <Oh shut up.> he growled back. <If you had been able to see it coming, and if it was so pathetic, you should have been able to get out of the way.> He was starting to tire, and judging from his rival's own panting, he could tell that the fight was going to be reaching its end sooner than he had expected. But he also knew that if he was going to win, he needed to do something fast. He couldn't stand it if this Scyther ended up the victor. And so, as the Bug and Flying Mantis Pokemon jumped into the air and took off, he prepared himself. Either this was an Aerial Ace or a Quick Attack. Either way, the blow would come fast and hard. He crossed his arms and waited for the attack to hit. As the Scyther came down, he felt the Quick Attack ram him hard, and he let out a small grunt of effort as he tried to tank the hit just like he had at first. He knew he could...after all, he'd done it at the beginning of the fight. But something happened this time. The Leer caught him by surprise and the blow struck him just below where his arms were crossed. He took the attack hard to the stomach and he let out a loud, pained cry as a result. he was slammed backward and his back slammed against the back wall, causing him to let out a loud pained growl. He sank to his knees, and promptly fell to all fours as a result. He hadn't expected the opponent's attack to hit him harder than it had before. He looked up and growled at his opponent. After that hit, surely that damn Scyther was probably thinking himself superior. Well, unlike when he'd been hit by that first Aerial Ace, he wasn't going to just sit there and take his opponent's smug attitude. Coughing hard from the slam to his gut, he got back to his feet and brought his arms together and to his side. Between them, another dark orb of energy appeared. Greystone took the hit on his shoulder. It was significant, it hurt. Grimm didn't feel like typing out some long winded description though. So just assume it was a nice pretty hit, with a small purple dark little 'puff' of power when it smacked into his shoulder. He grunted and responded with a quickly timed attack. Not an actual quick attack. It was a pursuit attack, just performed quickly. It was the only speed he knew how to move at really. He dashed foreword and tried to zip around behind Haru, sliding to a stop he quickly used his scythes to slash at Lucario's backside. In the event his opponent tried to flee, he'd be in for a rude surprise. Kinda why pursuit was so much fun. But really, Grimm apparently has nothing else to say about this turn. So hello crappy post.

Haru smirked at his successful hit. <Heheh...not so tough now, are you?> He was ready to attack again. He wanted to pummel this Bug and Flying Pokemon as hard as he could. At least doing that would prove his superiority in this battle. Greystone was a powerful opponent. He knew that well enough already. And he was not going to be underestimating him in any way. But still...he wasn't going to let himself lose. Not after how this scyther had gone through the trouble of showing off earlier in this fight. If anybody deserved to be the show-off it was him! But before Haru could do anything, the Scyther seemed to just...disappear. <What the...?> he muttered. But before he could do anything, he felt a strong blow from behind. The force of the blow against his back forced him down onto one knee. However...the attack itself was nothing impressive. After all, he was a combination Steel and Fighting-type Pokemon. A weak Dark-type move like that was going to do very little against him. He smirked back at Greystone. <If that's all you've got, then this is going to be so much fun for me.>At that, the Lucario spun around, drawing his Metal Claw out from his wrist spike. He slashed his claws around with his body, aiming for the Bug Pokemon's chest. ::Lucario:: Haru; Lv. 11 Hit by Pursuit! {It's Not Very Effective.... (x.25)} Used Metal Claw on Greystone!
