Jet was still breathing heavily when the Chingling finally went down. He smiled...was this Pokémon down for the count? He just...couldn't believe it...had he...had he really just won? He walked over to the Chingling and tapped him slightly with his foot, just to make sure he wasn't going to jump back to his feet and greet him with a surprise attack the moment he turned his back. The last thing he wanted was to get caught up in that Wrap attack again. That was probably even more painful than what the Meowth did to him. Maybe because it was such a slow crushing. Well, when he was satisfied that the Chingling was indeed down for the count, he turned away, looking at Apollo with a proud look on his face. "Wow, you did it, Jet!" he called out to his Buizel. "You beat him...that was amazing!" The Water type had definitely come a long way since he had taken him in. Maybe this lone journey would be good for the two of them. He then decided that capturing the Chingling might be a good idea...maybe he and Jet could become great friends and rivals? Just then, the Budew got his attention again. He looked down at him and smiled. He had a feeling he knew exactly what he meant. He had to be careful, though. He only had two Pokéballs remaining. If he caught both of them...then he wouldn't be able to use any more unless he went and bought some. Apollo, though he was sure he knew what the Budew wanted, couldn't understand what he said. So, just in case he was wrong, he put one of his empty Pokéballs down on the ground next to her. "There you go..." he said. "If you want to come along, just touch it." Then, Apollo looked over at the Chingling. Maybe the three of them could be best friends? Maybe showing this Chingling that there was more to life than just being the strongest might be a positive experience for him. So, he grabbed his final remaining Pokéball, and cocked his arm back. He then launched it forward, aiming at the Chingling for a capture. Pokéballs weren't that expensive anyway, he figured. Jet, seeing Apollo put the Pokéball down, smiled. It looked like that Budew was going to come along! Before he could enter the Pokéball, Jet ran up to him. <Hey there...again.> he said with another nervous chuckle. <No, no...I should be...er...I should be thanking YOU. If you hadn't come along with that Berry...I'd be at that Chingling's mercy right now. I owe you a lot. Thanks...and welcome to the team, I guess.> He chuckled a bit, glancing at the Pokéball before turning to look at the ball that Apollo threw. Looks like that Chingling might be joining them as well. Thanks Budew for the Berry
Apollo used two Pokéballs! ((Also, now that I'm on Pg. 5, could I possibly request a Trainer Battle after Apollo next visits the PokéCenter? xP))

One of the two pokeballs hit the out cold Chingling, sucking it inside its grasp and falling to the cold ground. Same with the Budew, although he did not fight it. He willingly went along, the Chingling would have fought it. But, he was out cold so that wouldn't work so well. The Chingling's Pokeball had stopped first, staying still on the ground before the Budew's did as well. The two Pokemon were now Apollo's and off to a new life.

Apollo smiled a bit as he saw both of his captures were successful. He figured that they were a good use of his two remaining Pokéballs. He could always buy more after all. Jet now probably had a closer Pokémon friend now. He had a feeling that he and Budew were going to be great friends. He just hoped that the Chingling would find a place in the group...hopefully he would come to learn that being tough wasn't all there was to life. But, looking down at Jet, he realized just how hurt the Buizel was. He needed to get out of here. He needed to take Jet to the Pokémon Center. He had taken severe damage and probably couldn't battle again. So, he reached down and picked Jet up in his arms and said, "Well, Jet, you were amazing...let's get you patched up." With that, he walked off towards the nearest city to visit the Pokémon Center.
~~~~~
After several minutes, Apollo returned to the Route, Jet on his shoulders again. He would have hung out a little longer in that last city, but he knew that he still had a lot of exploring to do around here first. And now, he couldn't let Jet keep fighting on his own. He had other Pokémon that needed training too. With that, he took out his Pokéball that held his weakest Pokémon. He opened it up, and Vance, the Starter Pokémon that he had gotten from the Ranger Station, came out of it. He smiled down at him and said, "Alright Vance, let's get some training done for you." With that, he started walking again. This time, however, he was sure to keep an eye on the Piplup and keep him from walking off.
Jet took the opportunity to jump down from Apollo's shoulders and strike up a conversation with the Piplup. The two Pokémon started talking again as though they were best friends. The two really seemed to be hitting it off somehow...well, it didn't matter. He just hoped that he could find a chance to get Vance stronger. He had been neglecting the Piplup's training a bit, after all.
Down by one of the many iced trees a Seedot stood. Looking up at the tree he had a mad look on his face. <Let me back up there you meanies!> He exclaimed. Above the Seedot's head a Pidgey, Taillow and Spearow were up in the tree. The Taillow stuck her tongue out. <Fat chance! This is our tree now!> The Pidgey and Spearow backed up their leader with a round of chuckling. Te Seeot sighed and flopped down by the tree trunk. If he didn't get up there soon he would freeze on the bottom. He was a grass type, he didn't mix well with ice! He needed to get up there somehow, but how he didn't know.
Apollo, Jet and Vance continued to make their way through the Route, wandering, looking for Pokémon. Apollo was well aware of the presence of the Gym in that city, but he needed to have his Pokémon properly ready for it. He needed both Jet and Vance to be able to use at least some kind of Water-type attack, and he wished he could get some training in for his other newly captured Pokémon as well...but they weren't his priority just yet. Soon enough, the three of them stumbled across the Seedot that had fallen from the tree. Jet and Vance looked at each other. They could understand what was going on, and clearly Apollo was missing something. He had been about to simply walk off and ignore the situation. But the two Water-types weren't about to leave a Grass-type Pokémon to freeze in the ice like that. <Hey...what's going on here...?> Jet asked as he walked towards the Seedot. But before he could ask any further, Vance was already dashing ahead of the Buizel with a cheerful look on his face. <Oh, it's obvious, Jet...!> He said cheerfully. <These guys are trying to bully this guy out of his tree~> The tone in the Piplup's voice caught Jet by surprise and he wasn't sure just how to react. Sure, he could already tell that for himself from what he and Vance had overheard, but he had been trying to be a bit more subtle about it. Well, so much for that. Vance looked up at the three Bird Pokémon in the trees. <Hey, there's plenty of room up in that tree for all four of you...why can't you just share it?> The innocent Piplup was a bit oblivious to the ways of bullying...and Jet stepped closer to Vance, just in case he accidently triggered something with that mouth of his. ::Piplup:: ::Buizel:: Talking to the three Bird Pokémon and the Seedot
The bird trio looked down at Vance and the Taillow scowled. Clearly the leader of the group because when she had a mad look on her face the Pidgey and Spearow looked worried. <Oh, you shouldn't have done that!> The Pidgey warned. The Spearow snickered to himself. <Yeah, now they're in for it.> The Seedot looked to see some Pokemon come to his aid, he got up and happily smiled. <Oh, thank you!> He said thankful that they were helping him.
The Taillow chirped from her spot in the tree. <Simple, he is not a flying type! This tree is now mine, therefore I say only flying types are allowed here. Got a problem?> she asked with a scowl. The Pidgey and Spearow snickered to themselves, thinking this was going perfect. The tree would be theirs and the Taillow would be happy. <Look, bub, I dunno who you are but you better leave before our leader gets mad.> The Spearow warned.
Vance cocked his head in confusion. What was this about the birds owning the tree? And about the tree being reserved only for Flying-types? Something about that just didn't ring true to him. And, being the oblivious-natured Piplup that he was, didn't hesitate to speak his mind. <...But that doesn't make any sense.> he said. <You can't say who belongs in that tree...as long as there's room up there, there shouldn't be a problem with him being in it too....> Perhaps Vance was treading on thin ice...but he was blissfully unaware. He just continued to speak what he thought, no matter what the consequences would be. Jet looked over at the Seedot as he addressed them. <Don't mention it...> he said in response. <...It's not right for them to kick you out of the tree like that, so it's only natural that you should get your place back.> Jet then turned his attention back to Vance...he was there for backup in case things got hairy. The last thing he wanted was for his friend to get hurt without even knowing he was doing something wrong. He glanced back at Apollo, who met his gaze. They both knew that a battle might be coming if Vance continued to pester the Taillow. Not that it mattered...Jet would have done something about it anyway, even without Vance talking mindlessly about it. Apollo was just ready to react whenever he was needed. ::Piplup:: Rebutting the Taillow's claims Ignoring the warnings ::Buizel:: Ready to back Vance up in case of trouble
The Taillow's eyes glinted with anger and the Pidgey and Spearow were glancing at their boss, edging slightly away in case he exploded. However, a malicious smirk crossed the birds face, showing he had something in mind. <Alright,>the Taillow said quietly, smirking widely. <You want to come up on the tree? Fine.> The Taillow suddenly swooped down and, an instant later, had the Seedot in his clutches. Ignoring the Seedot's squeal of fear and pain, the Taillow swooped back up and dropped the Seedot upon the top-most branch of the tree. <There, you got your wish brat! See if you can get yourself down,>the Taillow sneered. Both the Pidgey and Spearow guffawed, praising their leader.
<Help me!>the Seedot screamed in fright, trying to maintain his balance on the very thin branch.
Both Vance and Jet watched what the Bird Pokémon did to the Seedot, and that only made Jet a bit more frustrated. These three Pokémon were so bad, treating this helpless Seedot that way! And being up there was no better for the Grass-type's health than he was down here on the snow. <Why don't you stop picking on that Seedot and pick on somebody your own size?> Jet called up to the three. He was openly calling the Bird Pokémon out, completely ignoring the fact that the two of them were outnumbered three to two. But, he was sure that Apollo would back them up, no matter what happened anyway. He had faith that his Trainer wouldn't let anything happen to them. But before Jet could try anything, Vance opened his beak again. <Oh, that's not nice...> he said, looking up at the poor Seedot. Wait a minute. He was a bird, wasn't he? He should be able to get up there just fine, right? Of course, it only made sense! Birds belonged in trees, after all! As a result, Vance jumped at the tree and started trying to climb it. His flipper arms and feet weren't exactly good for climbing, though, but he managed to keep his grip using his beak. With his trusty beak to assist him, he started to ever-so-slowly climb the trunk of the tree, hugging it tightly as he moved on up. He didn't even seem to hear Jet's protests when he continued to say <Get down from there...!> ::Buizel:: Challenging the three ::Piplup:: Climbing the tree slowly
The trio of birds laughed as the Seedot appeared to be stuck. Their laughter made the Taillow rather happy. She stuck her tongue out at the Buizel down below. <Ha, you think you can take on three of us? You're only one little Pokemon, with a bird brain for a partner.> She said, pointing her wing at the Piplup climbing the tree. <Get'em boys!> She commanded.
The Spearow took first turn, flapping his wings and diving down at the Piplup. His beck became covered in a light and tried to peck at the bird brain. <Ha, you can't climb trees! You can't even fly!> He taunted Vance. The Pidgey took the second turn, flying down to the ground where the Buizel was. <Ha, I'm gonna make Spoink-roast out of you!> he exclaimed before kicking up dirt from under the snow and throwing it at the Buizel. Then, he took the chance while hopefully the Buizel was blinded and tried using Tackle on it.
As the Piplup continued to climb the tree, he was completely unaware of the incoming Spearow. He was concentrating too hard on not falling from the tree, and focused on just getting to the top where the Seedot was. Suddenly, Vance was hit otu of nowhere by the Spearow's Peck attack, and he was sent flying right off of the tree. <WAH!!> he shouted out as he fell downwards, landing hard in the snow with a soft crunch of snow. <Oooowwww...> he groaned. <That kinda hurt...> Vance jumped back to his feet and looked up at the Spearow. So that was how the bird wanted to play it, huh? Without even bothering to wait for a command from his Trainer, Vance jumped straight up at the Spearow, trying to smack him on the top of his head and straight downwards, towards the ground. Jet, on the other hand, saw what was coming and, after seeing the Pidgey try to dig his talons into the snow, knew what was going to happen. Thanks to his experience in battling a Pidgey before, he knew the signs of the incoming Sand Attack, and he was able to dodge the flying sand by juming to the right. Unfortunately, he was cut off just as his feet touched the snow again. The Pidgey rammed his body hard into Jet's chest, sending him sprawling onto his back. But, he was quick to get back to his feet. <We'll see about that...I-I've battled a Pidgey before...and I...I know what to expect!> He had a bit of a nervous stutter to his voice. He remembered how he had gotten thrashed in that first battle. Hopefully, this wouldn't be a repeat. With that, he jumped forward, clenching his fist. The fist glowed with a blue color as he swung it forward, trying to slam it hard into the Pidgey's head with a powerful Ice Punch attack. Apollo, stunned to see his Pokémon fully capable of handling themselves, decided to see if they could do just that. He trusted that Jet would be able to handle that Pidgey on his own, but he worried about Vance. He was sure that Jet would help him out if he got into trouble, but so would he. Apollo was ready to intervene at any time. ::Piplup:: Hit by Peck! Fell from the tree Used Pound on Spearow! ::Buizel:: Dodged Sand Attack! Hit by Tackle! Used Ice Punch on Pidgey!
The Pidgey was quite happy with himself as his Tackle had hit. While he had his back turned he felt something icy cold hit him in the back. He yelled, placing his wings out and flying away. The icy cold punch had made the Pidgey freezing in this already cold weather. <J-just you w-wait! Our l-leader will g-get you!> The only thing he could manage so far was to scratch up some dirt from the ground and throw it at the Piplup.
The Speaorw laughed his feathers off as the Piplup fell from the tree. <Hahaha, you can't fly you wingless bird brain!> He taunted. He didn't see the incoming Pound and was smacked to the ground. His face being buried in the snow, he lifted it up and spitted the cold stuff out. He was angry now. He flapped his wings and took off after the Piplup. <Alright, bub, you asked for it!> he yelled as he tried to Peck at him again.
The Taillow watched with a keen eye from above. She sighed to herself. <I do hope I don't have to step in.> she said with a bored look on her face. The Seedot whimpered in fear, hoping his new friends didn't get too hurt.
((In the post, you said that Sand Attack was aimed at Vance, but in the summary that it was aimed at Jet. But I'm going to assume that you meant at Buizel, given the circumstances.)) Jet felt his icy-cold punch collide with the Pidgey and a gratifying sensation went through him. From the bird's pained shout, he knew that he had just delivered a powerful blow. <Well if this leader of yours is so tough, then we'll just have to show that we're stronger!> Jet called back to the Pidgey. Unfortunately, he had been too preoccupied with what the Bird Pokémon was saying and was too distracted to notice him digging through the snow again. When the Pidgey kicked up more dirt toward his eyes, he cried out, unable to get out of the way in time. He stumbled backward, pawing at his eyes, trying to get the dirt out of it. He was too preoccupied with his stinging eyes to get around to using another move. Vance heard the Spearow smack-talk him...only to get smacked in the head and spiked into the ground by his Pound attack. When he landed on the ground, he put his arms to his waist in a proud stance, as though he had just won the battle in a single blow. Then the Tiny Bird Pokémon got back up again. <Oh yeah?> Vance challenged with a slight smile. He was really enjoying himself now. When the Spearow lunged at him, beak aimed straight for him, he dodged it by simply jumping to the side. <Well you'll have to do better than that!> He teased. He lunged after the Spearow after he went past him, and tried to jump at him and spike him into the snow once more with yet another Pound attack. Apollo watched the battle, thinking that his Pokémon were doing quite well on their own. Vance surprised him the most. The Piplup seemed to be a natural-born fighter...though maybe a bit on childish side. Though Vance was the one he was keeping a closer eye on, he watched Jet's struggle as well. After seeing Jet get struck by that Sand Attack and fumble around, he realized that he was having a harder time fighting on his own than the Piplup. Normally, Apollo would have told Jet to try to launch a counter-strike with Ice Punch or Sonicboom...but he needed Jet to learn how to fight on his own. It might help take future opponents by surprise if his Pokémon were able to fight without commands. Hit by Sand Attack! [Acc: -1] Trying to clear his vision (too busy to attack)
The Pidgey chuckled to himself as the Buizel appeared too busy to even attack. <Ha, cant even attack fool!> he taunted. <You're making this a bit too easy!> The Pidgey apparently thought very highly of himself and always listened to his leader. <I could be nice and not attack but...that's not my style.> he said with a evil smirk. He launched himself from the ground and tried to do a full body Tackle into the Buizel.
The Spearow nearly rammed himself into the snow because of the Piplup's dodge. <Hey! No one said you could dodge!> he complained. He was then pounded into the snow again. Shaking off the attack and snow from his head he snarled. <Grr, you'll pay for that!> He said. He decided to switch targets this time, instead he turned and went for the Buizel instead of the Piplup with Peck.
The Taillow appeared pleased with what was going on below. Smiling, she turned to the Seedot. <Now, where were we?> The Seedot shivered in fear. <Oh, that's right...lunch!> She tried to peck at the Seedot's hard shell, but instead of doing any good she knocked him out of the tree. <No!> She cried. The Seedot tumbled and rammed into Apollo's leg. He groaned and looked up. <Oh! Please, keep trying!> he said, trying to cheer the Pokemon on.
Jet was so busy trying to get the stinging dirt out of his eyes that he didn't notice the Tackle attack coming, and he was rammed head-on. With a yelp of pain, he slid backward along the frost-covered ground. He found it difficult to stay on his feet with the slippery, soft and icy surface beneath them. He heard the Pidgey's taunts, and thoughts of his first battle with that Pidgey was brought back to him. He wasn't going to get beaten as easily as he had back then. He wasn't going to lose that easily! But just as that thought crossed his mind, he saw a fast blur of red and brown, and he felt the Spearow's beak slam hard into his chest. If there was anything he had expected, it wasn't for Vance's opponent to hit him instead of the Piplup. With a loud yelp of pain, Jet was knocked hard off of his feet and onto the ground. He groaned and tried to shake it off, but the Tiny Bird's beak had drawn a bit of blood on his chest, and he just laid there after the combination of attacks. He lay on his back at the feet of both Bird Pokémon, completely at their mercy. Luckily, though, Vance wasn't going to just leave his friend hanging like that. He didn't hesitate to charge forward, at the two Birds and leap into the air and dive down at the Spearow, trying to tackle him to the ground and slam his flipper down on top of him with a Pound attack. He worked hard to try to save his battle partner from being at the mercy of the two Bird lackeys. Seeing his friend help him out, and then hearing the Seedot's words of encouragement got Jet back into the fray. He was able to get back to his feet and face the Pidgey again. <I won't just roll over and let you take me down...!> he said, clenching his fist and tried to swing it forward and into the Pidgey's face using an Ice Punch attack. He hoped that it wouldn't take many Ice Punch attacks to bring down this guy...the real opponent was that Taillow, and he knew it. He just hoped that the Taillow wasn't overwhelmingly strong. Especially after being weakened from this battle. As the Seedot bumped into his leg, Apollo looked down at him. He had seen the Taillow peck at him and decided to try to keep him safe. He reached down and picked the Seedot up in his arms and lift him into the air. "I won't let that Taillow get you...and neither will Jet or Vance. I promise." He had confidence in his Pokémon. The Pidgey screeched in pain as the icy cold punch connected with his wings. He felt the tingling sensation of ice crawl across his feathers, freezing his joints and causing him to tumble to the ground. The Pidgey lost consciousness as his head hit the ground hard, followed by the rest of his limp body. Out cold, the Pidgey laid in the dust, unmoving and out of the fight. Spearow saw, in the corner of his eyes, a flash of blue and quickly tried veering to the side as he saw the Piplup charge forward. However, he didn't anticipate the sudden Pound attack and felt the force smack him down. Spearow felt a bruise start to blossom on his back but managed to stay aloft in the air. He quickly tried to retaliate with a fierce Peck attack towards Vance. Taillow's eyes glared straight at the Trainer and Seedot, her eyes glittering evilly. <That seed is mine!>she screeched, darting forward towards Apollo with claws sharpened and beak ready to gorge into every part of the human's body in order to get her prize back. Jet felt his Ice Punch collide with the Pidgey, and he sighed with relief when the Bird Pokémon fell to the ground, fainted. He smiled and turned to look at Apollo. He had done it! He'd managed to win his first battle on his own, without having Apollo do anything to help him! But when he turned to look at his Trainer, he saw a sight he didn't like. The Taillow was charging at his Trainer. Uh-oh...he had to do something! Without hesitating, and purely on instinct, he reared his head back, thrust it forward, opening his mouth at the same time and releasing a torrent of Water Gun at the charging Swallow Pokémon, trying to hit her before she could get to Apollo and the Seedot. He surprised even himself that he was able to so easily blast his Water Gun attack. Apollo heard the Taillow's screeching and looked up just in time to see the Flying-type come soaring in his direction. He gulped slightly, but he knew he had to run or something...it was the only way to get out of the way. But maybe his mind knew it wouldn't matter--there was no way he could out-run a Taillow on foot--because he felt rooted to the spot, unable to move no matter how much he tried to. He started to turn around in the opposite direction and hold the Seedot closer in an attempt to protect him from harm...when he saw Jet shoot a stream of water out of the corner of his eye. He had managed to learn how to wield his Water Gun attack! <Get away from them!> Jet shouted at the Taillow. Meanwhile, Vance was busy with a battle of his own. The Spearow came at him again with another Peck attack. But, the Piplup was on to the Tiny Bird's little attack by now. He was able to avoid this one as well before coming back at the Spearow with another Pound attack. He came up on the Flying-type and tried to hammer his flipper into his head yet again, trying to give him another beak full of snow. He was in dangerous territory, though, and was starting to slow down on his evasive maneuvers. He wasn't sure he would be able to dodge any of the Spearow's possible few next moves... ::Buizel:: Used Water Gun on Taillow! ::Piplup:: Dodged Peck (#3) Used Pound on Spearow!
The Spearow was pounded to the ground again. Getting tired of this Piplup's attack he flapped his wings and tried to Peck at its head. <Would you quit that and stay down already?!> he exclaimed angrily.
The Taillow gasped as her feathers became soaked in water, sending her to the ground where the coldness set in. She lifted her head and snarled. <You...you'll pay for that.> she exclaimed with a angry face. She flapped her wings and flew right at the Buizel, trying to jab at its head repeatedly with Peck.
Jet saw his Water Gun attack knock the Taillow out of the air and he felt great on the inside. That move really looked like it had hurt the Swallow Pokémon, and he was very glad that he had a good move like that to use. He finally developed his own Water-type move! But there was a bigger problem. The Taillow was already jumping back at him again. He had hoped that the Flying-type would be stuck down on the ground in the snow for a little bit longer. But he noticed something...the Taillow was still slightly wet from his Water Gun attack. If he could somehow get more of her wet with his water, he'd have an easier time Freezing her over with Ice Punch. But he didn't have that kind of time. He was strategizing too many turns ahead, and wasn't focused enough on there present. The Taillow charged at him and his beak hit him hard in the head with a constant Peck attack. Jet yelped in pain and tried to shield his head with his arms, but to no avail. He ended up falling hard onto his back at the Taillow's feet, clutching his head, which was now starting to draw a little bit of blood as well where the sharpest part of the Taillow's beak had jabbed him. But with his new attack, he wasn't as helpless as he would have been before. He opened his mouth and unleashed another Water Gun up at the Taillow while he was on the ground, hoping to blast the Swallow Pokémon away before she could cause any more damage. Vance, on the other hand, had a similar issue. This time around, he wasn't able to get around the Peck like he had so many times before. The Spearow's beak collided with his head, and he shouted, <Ow, ow ow! Knock it off!> When he did that, he swung his flipper arm and tried to slam it hard into the Spearow's head and knock him away with yet another Pound attack. He wasn't having as much fun anymore, that was clear. ::Buizel:: Hit by Peck! Used Water Gun on Taillow! ::Piplup:: Hit by Peck! Used Pound on Spearow!
But her sentence was cut short by being soaked with water again. She fell to the ground and her feathers were soaking wet now. She lifted her wings to let the water drop off and glared at the Buizel. She snarled and ran at the water type Pokemon. With her beck slightly glowing she tried to Peck the brains out of the Buizel.
The Spearow was getting a wee bit tired of this. Repeat over and over again, smacked into the ground, using Peck, smacked into the ground, using Peck. Time to change things up a little bit here. His eyes had a glint in it as he looked at the Piplip. Trying to lower defense being trying to Peck at its stomach angrily.
