The Ursaring was a bit intimidated when he saw the two foes take the field against him. The first, a Monferno quickly gave him a menacing leer before swinging a mach punch at him. >OUCH!< That hurt as it was super effective against the Ursaring. But not knowing his true power, he quickly looked terrified that he was able to suffer little damage from the two attacks and still had enough strength to fight back. That fear quickly turned into power, and terror when a Combusken came over and double kicked him before smashing right into him with a brick break. Those two attacks also hurt greatly, but the bigger worry for him was just his own strength and that he lacked control over it. He quickly stomped his feet to the ground and quickly began to charge at both pokemon. At first he gave a menacing leer in return to both of them, after receiving one from the Monferno, before he attempted to strike the Combusken with a slash attack. His large and powerful claws came right at the Combusken in a very swift motion, too fast for even him to control. He was incredibly scared of his power, as he had never imagined the strength he would possess once evolving. ::ursaring:: (-1 defense) Summary: Hit by Leer, Mach Punch (SE), Double Kick (SE), Brick Break (SE + Critical Hit). Used Leer on both and Slash on Combusken Male | Level 30 Attacks: Covet, Leer, Fake Tears, Fury Swipes, Faint Attack, Sweet Scent, Slash, Scratch Personality: Recently evolved, doesn't know his own strength yet. His pokemon had given it their all, throwing themselves at a much stronger challenger with attacks that would have brought others down quite easily. His pokemon also were a bit shocked to see the normal type still up, and without showing any signs of those attacks doing any lasting damage. What had they gone up against?
The slash hit Lotus hard, sending her bleeding, onto the ground. She wasn't out yet, but another one of those would make her faint for sure. The discrepancy in the levels was a hard wall to climb, and the feathered pokemon wasn't too sure if she wanted to stand back up and fight. Her eyes darted from side to side, wondering what she should do.
Goku was a bit braver, though much of it was empty bravado. He wasn't too sure how he was ever going to defeat a pokemon that bit, but he had to try, had to show Blaze that he wasn't a weak and worthless monkey anymore, and the trainer didn't have to ship him off to some godawful trainer to 'toughen him up'. Steeling himself, he used a Bulk Up, tightening his muscles so they provided him with more protection and strength.
"Goku, try it again with another Mach Punch!" Blaze said, seeing his pokemon still ready to battle, still ready to fight despite these scary odds. "Lotus, try and use a Growl, and a Double Kick." His tone was more gentle, when talking to the chick-like pokemon, trying to encourage her to fight for him, to not give up. She managed to let out a weak growl, hoping to make the ursaring hesitate a bit more before he attacked, to use less of that monstrous strength. Her lungs still burned as she got up and followed Goku into action. She took a deep breath before leaping into the air, her muscles protesting in pain, before attempting another set of kicks.

The Ursaring was again sent back when he noticed the monkey, Monferno, bulked up and after him with a speedy punch to his face. That attack left a mark that he was definitely not used to. He didn't expect the blow to hurt as much now seeing how they barely did much last time around, but this time it stung badly. And the pair weren't done there, afterward... Lotus quickly charged at him and he was hit with a weak growl that was more of a distraction to him when she kicked his twice. Once in the quad and then in the shin. It sent him falling onto the ground and made him pant heavily after the two blast. The Ursaring began to look shaken up after the two attacks as he was unsure of himself any more after the blows and sort of wanted to run. But his instincts prevented him from doing that and soon he began to charge the Monferno this time. With his claws out he attempted to scratch the monkey up badly for being so confident, it was time to bring the Monferno down a notch. ::Ursaring:: (Beginning to weaken) (-1 attack) (-1 defense) Summary: Hit by Growl, Double Kick (SE) and Mach Punch (SE). Goku let out a small whimper and tried not to appear so weak. He felt tears welling up at the pain, but even now, he feared the harsh words that would come his way every time he showed signs of weakness. Send back from the attack, he slowly made his way back onto his feet, eyes squeezed close as he bulked up again to help dull the pain. He had to concentrate. Concentrate. Blaze believed in him. His trainer had given him the muscle band to help boost his attacks.
Finally opening his eyes again, he saw that Lotus was already on the move, commanded by Blaze's strong voice. That wasn't a little shake in his voice. No. Blaze knew they were going to win. There shouldn't be any doubt.
The trainer's nails were digging into his palm, wondering how he was going to proceed. His Pokémon were both really weakened, and he would have to retreat soon, unless he managed to pull through really really soon. "Lotus, try to Growl again, and then Brick Break. Buy Goku some time." The Pokémon nodded, still feeling sore about the previous attack, and let out a cute growl to distract the Ursaring a little bit. She then made her way over, her claws digging into the soil to give her a little bit more grip and then tried to punch the normal-type with an attack that tore through brick walls.
Not in any shape to keep up and move forward, Blaze saw that Goku was using another Bulk Up to help himself back onto his feet. "Stay back, and use a Grass Knot!" he called out. He had taught this attack to help him against dreaded water and ground pokemon, but he didn't want to risk Goku overextending himself so soon.
The Pokémon steeled himself and the grabbed onto a vine on the forest floor. The monferno gripped it with all his might and pulled, hoping to trip the Ursaring, using its own weight against it. If he could make him fall onto the ground, it would surely give Lotus enough time to then retreat back to avoid another devastating attack.

Seeing the blood soiled on his claws made the Ursaring's eyes pop wide open in surprise as he took a step backwards, looking at the red liquid curiously. There was a look of horror combined in there, but he was having a hard time believing that he actually accomplished this on that one swipe. The Monferno was in pain, but so was he after being hit by all of those attacks.
Trying to shake the blood off but failing, he growled at the pair, using a full on leer so that they would catch his warning. He wasn't scared of blood or causing pain! He could keep doing it too if they attacked him! He started to charge forward, not having a target picked out yet, but the Grass Knot got him pretty good. He tripped and fell, feeling a painful sting on his chin and belly.
To make things worse, he heard this frighteningly loud growl that made him cringe on the ground. Then he was hit with another brick break before he could get back up. This was a terrible day! He pushed himself up off of the ground and let out a giant roar. Death to all! He charged with a Fury Swipes at the Monferno, realizing that he was the reason he fell.

Had he had enough? Blaze watched carefully, trying to judge whether or not the Ursaring was going to retreat, whether the battle was over. The grass knot had managed to work, making him fall quite hard onto the ground. That was good, right? Lotus backed up to rest for just a couple of breaths, trying not to just run away. She was afraid. Goku was bleeding, the Ursaring gave her a death glare, and she didn't know if she could take another one of those powerful slashes, so when the stronger pokemon let out a terrifying roar, she yelped and jumped, onto a tree, hoping to hide from any other attack.
Goku's reaction was much different. The ursaring had shown some weakness, and he wanted to exploit it by using another leer on it, so it would be afraid of him. That hadn't lasted for long, as the roar came, making the ape-like pokemon simply freeze. Fear had rooted him to the spot, and he was unable to dodge the fury swipes. Once, twice, three times, and four did the claws attack him, and by the end of it, all he remembered were a few words of praise and a red light bringing him back into the safety of the pokeball.
Now Lotus was even more afraid. That bear had gotten to Goku, and now the monkey was dead. The blood, she couldn't seem to get out of her mind, and she did not want to fight. She did not want to die. Her trainer issued an order, but she scarcely heard it. The roar was still ringing in her ears, and she did not want to do this anymore. "Come on, Lotus. Just a bit more!" Blaze pleaded, and she managed to steel herself. Goku had been so brave, and she should be brave as well. If a double kick was what was asked of her, she was going to give it. She focused her energy clenched her muscles, getting ready to attack.
Jumping off the tree, flames surrounded her body as she tried to slam herself onto the larger pokemon, hoping gravity would be in her side, before giving the normal type a few well-placed kicks. Hopefully, this would do the trick. She could already feel the fire, fuelling her motions, making them quicker, and hopefully allowing her to avoid any retaliation that was sure to come.

The Ursaring began to get even more terrified when he saw the damage he had done to the Monferno who quickly fainted and was returned to the pokeball. Did he do that? Did he just defeat a pokemon? Or did he kill it? He had no idea at all as the red orb of the pokeball wasn't something he was used to... All he knew was that his claws became even bloodier so something must have been up. He was in such a mad rage that he didn't even notice the leer that came his way. Now the only thing that stood between him and safety, was the Combusken in his way. She quickly began to take a deep breath which relieved him. Maybe she was going to run away? Hopefully! But that wasn't what she did, instantly she slammed hard into him with flames all over her body before she kicked him twice, just as quickly. The full impact of the two blows brought him falling hard onto the ground, slamming hard on his side as he winced in pain. What would he do now? He wondered. Instantly he began to release a sweet odor in the air, hoping to veil the Combusken in it so he could determine her movements more easily for the future. That was his strategy! ::ursaring:: (Attack -2, Defense -1) (Weakening) Male | Level 30 Attacks: Covet, Leer, Fake Tears, Fury Swipes, Faint Attack, Sweet Scent, Slash, Scratch Personality: Recently evolved, doesn't know his own strength yet. This battle was much more intense than he had ever faced in a long time, and Lotus was holding up better than he thought. He clenched his jaw as he watched the Ursaring make his next move. Would the combusken be able to dodge it? Or would she end up like Goku? The poor monkey Pokémon had taken a hard blow, and Blaze worried about him. Perhaps a trip back to the Pokémon center would be needed. Certainly, Goku and Lotus would have deserved it, after this fight.
The Ursaring did not launch another attack, though, and instead, a sweet, wafting scent tickled his nose. He wasn’t too sure what was going on, but as long as Lotus wasn’t hurt, he would take it. It was better than the alternative of another slash attack that would devastate the chicken-like Pokémon. She did seem to get distracted by the scent, which might have been the bear’s goal. No matter. Blaze was not going to let that stand in his way.
“Lotus, try one last double kick. It seems close to fainting!” His words were more reassuring lies than anything. The normal type did not show too many signs of eminent fainted, but perhaps it was just good at faking it, good at pretending it was all right.
The combusken steeled herself, convincing herself to go in one more time. Every attack on the larger Pokémon could result in a vicious counterattack. She just had to be brave and go in there again. With a small battle cry, still fueled by the previous focused energy, Lotus ran over and jumped, wanting to use her own weight to deal the couple of kicks that would hopefully seal the end of the battle.

This battle really was intense, especially with such a strong bear having a lot of problems against two weaker Pokemon. Combined they were around his level, but once separated it was simply no game. He had been weakened, and now it was his time to finish the match with both monkey and chicken out of the way. Standing up tall with a snarl, secretly frightened at the possibility of acting like a chicken in front of a chicken, he didn't want to give in.
<You are both insane.> He panted after enduring a powerful kick to the face, and a weaker one to the chest. He rubbed the face wound with eyes watering up from the pain, feeling bad about the whole thing. He hated to lose, hated hated it! He didn't think he could last much longer against hits like that, so taking a deep breath, he decided to really push these last attacks.
With a frightening leer towards his foe, he made real sure to give the Combuskin the evil eye. Lotus was not getting away with making him want to cry like this! Oh no, she was unforgivable for making him feel less manly and grown up. He then made a powerful swipe in her direction, one that was also pretty accurate when it came to finding weak spots.

He had failed. As a trainer, in exchange for a pokemon's loyalty and love, they had to provide care and comfort. Right now, Blaze feel like he had succeeded as a trainer at all. He had known that the Ursaring was stronger than both Goku and Lotus, but he had sent them out anyways. Worse of all, he had made them keep battling, even after having realized the great strength discrepancy. Now... he could only watch as Lotus fell to the ground, fainted. These two pokemon were the two that had needed his encouragement the most, that needed him to help them along the most. Instead, he let both of them down and really wasn't sure how they were going to take it. He had to go back to a pokemon center as soon as possible to heal up his pokemon.
His hands shook as he returned Lotus to her pokeball. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I failed you, he kept repeating in his mind as he held onto the pokeball tightly. He hadn't released anyone else to take care of the Ursaring yet. Besides, he needed Ryuuku to fly him back to the pokemon center. He brought the red and white orb to his heart, holding it there and hoping Lotus could feel his pain as well, before placing her back in his pokeball pocket. He then took out a smoke ball, the purple orb simply churning with a thick foggy smoke. The item was more commonly used to escape from a pokemon, providing him with a cover, but Blaze used it in a much different way. He held it up to the sky and pressed a little button, letting a thick stream of smoke into the air. It slowly wafted up, through the canopy of the trees. Blaze counted silently the seconds that passed by. Five... Six...
A roar erupted through the area and crashing down, jaw full of flame and fire, landing onto the ground in a shuddering earthquake. Blaze could hardly stay standing, hand gripping onto a nearby vine for his dear life. There was Ryuu. He'd make everything right again. And once his charizard took care of the ursaring, he would go back to the city and hope his pokemon forgave him.

After the fight, he had silently climbed onto Ryuuku's back and asked to be brought away. It hadn't mattered where they went, and the pokemon led him back to Verona, landing by a pokemon center. The trainer barely said word during the flight, and when he clambered off, the full ache in his legs nothing compared to the pain in his chest. Before walking into the pokemon center, he gripped onto Ryuuku's claws tightly, trying to stop his body from shaking. It was over now. Ryuuku was there for him. He did not need to worry about anything. Blaze kept repeating those words in his mind and glancing outside to make sure his pokemon was still there.
He stayed in Verona for the evening, reconnecting with his pokemon, regaining as much trust as he could from them. By the time he was back in route three, Mothra was flying next to him, cradling an egg between her small legs. Blaze asked Ryuuku to stay with him this time, feeling much more comfortable knowing the Charizard was nearby to defend him against anything the woods might throw at him. Yes, he had some more inexperienced pokemon to train, but he was not going to allow himself to risk his pokemon like he did last time.
Blaze was not quite sure where he was, now, as his location had changed from the last time. The tree cover made it exceedingly hard to figure out where he had left off last time. He would have to orient himself once more to find the move tutor. Were there any signs of a pokemon who might have learned the move he needed. Were they are vines, cut up? Any sharp, unnatural cuts? At this moment, all he wanted to do was find the move tutor and leave this route.

The move tutor was around here, but there weren't any apparent signs that the little girl was here. There were probably witnesses that have seen her around, especially one that was stuck on the side of the path looking like a statue. The Skiploom's face was frozen into a frown as he stood there with a heavy bucket of water on his head, legs shaking as he tried to balance it.
Some of the bigger guys decided to push him around, threatening to tell some things to his mother if he didn't do what they said. Of course he had to oblige to such demands, because these guys knew way too much about him. His time with that Pokemon Photographer was supposed to be private, dammit!
<Stupid...stupid...stupid...> He muttered under his breath, annoyed from having to do this humiliating act all day. Sometimes they came by to make sure he was still here, and of course to laugh at him. It sucked so bad. So so bad.

The woods were full of noise, but nothing indicated the presence of any other humans, any other trainers. Perhaps the solitude was better. When no one was around, Blaze could act however he wanted, without feeling the world's eyes watching him, waiting for him to fall.
A lot of pokemon tended to flee when trainers approached, or at least react. Blaze spotted the brightly-coloured skiploom a bit further away and was surprised to see that it just didn't move as he approached it. Was it dead? Had someone fainted it? Perhaps it was the work of the move tutor. He walked over, unable to contain a small giddy smile. Ryuuku looked unimpressed and lagged behind as his trainer quickened his pace.
Upon approaching, Blaze saw that the pokemon was alive and well, but still glued to that spot. However, it had this... bucket? Filled with water? Someone had put a bucket of water on its head, and the pokemon didn't look too happy about it. Maybe it was some kind of personal training. Pr perhaps a way to strengthen oneself? Perhaps this the work of the move tutor.
Blaze took out a pokeball, releasing his Umbreon. Moon had always been the best in languages, extremely smart and always seemed to understand him. The pokemon's blue rings glowed softly under the canopy as she watched with a careful eye, wondering what was going on.
"I need to find the move tutor," he told her. "Could you ask if t his pokemon knows where it is?" Blaze had crouched down to be level with the skiploom and his own pokemon. Ryuuku, who had lumbered over and stretched his neck down to see what was going on, seemed quite bit from his perspective, towering over them all. Moon stared at Blaze for a few seconds with bright, intelligent eyes, before turning to the grass-type. <Move tutor?> he asked.

Always picking on me because I'm smaller than them and weaker than them. I'll show them one day. They aren't so great themselves. Shoot I remember when she went out drinking and woke up in bed with five different strangers. Her entire body was sore after! Or when he went out and picked a fight with a little punk and gotten his ass handed to him twice. Those no good piece of scums! Stupid Stupid Stupid!< The Skiploom began complaining when he was suddenly interrupted by an Umbreon and almost dropped the bucket.
>Woah? What are you doing here? I've never seen a Pokémon like you here before!< He said, before seeing the trainer nearby and finally putting the pieces together. >Oh so you belong to... him I see?< He asked, before realizing that they were looking for the move tutor.
Lucky for them, the Skiploom had just recently seen the move tutor as she walked by this area just recently to get to the other side and find more large leaves to cut. They were in luck as he knew exactly where they went, but he wanted something first.
>Uh yes, I know where the move tutor is. But can you do something for me first? You see, there are a few older Pokémon around here that have been tormenting me none stop, can you beat them up for me? It'd be great!< He said.
He had a feeling this would work, it was fool proof. He knew trainers here loved to pick fights with wild Pokémon and he knew this one needed the move tutor. So he could help him out if they helped him out. And he knew they would...
>Please? They aren't that far from here, nor are they that far from the move tutor herself... It'd just be a minor detour!< He said to the Umbreon.

The umbreon stayed quiet, sitting with his tail curled around his feet. The skiploom had the information that his trainer desired, but it wasn't free, of course. Information was never free. He looked at Blaze, catching the eyes of his trainer, before deciding that the human was searching for this move tutor and a little detour wouldn't be too much trouble.
Ryuuku had a different idea, snorting at what the skiploom as asking. Did the Pokémon not understand that with a single flamethrower, the grass type would be dead? But then something happened. There was a girl, some weird flying pokemon, and a lot of rain. The fire type grunted as the raindrops hit his skin, curling his tail so it was covered by the rain, his wings pulling his trainer close as well.
Everything happened so fast, Blaze could hardly respond. What was this Pokémon who could control the storms so well? What was going on? He was about to chase after the trainer and the pokemon, wanting to learn more, but his Pokémon held him back. Ryuuku's large claws held his shoulders, telling him not to go and to think before acting. It made Blaze do a little double take, looking around at his own Pokémon. Mothra was shivering, hiding under the canopy but getting wet anyways. She was protecting the egg with everything she could, holding it close to her, keeping it warm. She definitely looked miserable, trying to get away from the rain.
As the weird trainer and the even more odd-looking Pokémon went away, the rain left with it. The Pokémon shook the water off themselves, drenching everyone around them. Moon shook himself off before using a Quick Attack on the bucket atop the skiploom's head. <Let's go,> he said, as if a storm hadn't just swept through the area.

The Skiploom almost gave a hop out of happiness. He was going to get the help that he deserved at long last! It was about time, too, because this time he even had a reasoning behind his great dislike towards these two poke'mon. He had a feeling, however, that the trainer would have a soft spot for cute or defenseless looking poke'mon, though he hoped that was not the case. Otherwise, the trainer might not help him with the kicking of their asses.
>Yes! Thank you! This way, this way!< He let her excited tone take over his voice as he felt the sudden need to start skipping away and over to where his two 'friends' were. Though, he fought that sense of feeling and took the longer, walking route. The Skiploom started off the journey by heading past a few clumps of vines, leading his new bodyguard-for-the-moment to the last place he recalled seeing the two bullies.
After taking a turn around a thick tree, one could see the figure of a Teddiursa and a Sunkern sitting in the criss-crossing roots of a new one. The two seemed to be chatting about something, and looking as innocent as ever. However, the Skiploom would take none of their little act, as he hoped that this trainer could see through the facade that these two put up. It chased the last 'bodyguard' out.
>That's them,< He said, motioning straight to the Teddiursa and the Sunkern.

Weren't they going to see some move tutor? Did Moon, or even the skiploom, have misunderstood? The dark-type eevee didn't seem phased at all, sitting calmly next to Blaze, looking up at him questioningly while Mothra peered over curiously, feet still clutching the Pokémon egg, keeping it warm.
The trainer was up against a couple of Pokémon that did not seem incredibly weak. He wanted to train the lower half of his team, those that needed the experience to grow stronger, but visions of the ursaring beating him so bady terrified him. It made his whole body clench up and scream at him not to do anything stupid again.
It was almost natural when he sent out only one pokemon, wanting Moon to support Lotus and make sure she didn't get hurt. The combusken seemed timid and shaken up as well.
"Moon, Helping Hand and defend," said Blaze. "Lotus, I want you to trust me, okay? I know you can do this. Focus energy and Flame Charge." His nervousness could be heard in his voice as he the part fighting type closed her eyes and focused her energy onto herself. She felt Moon's energy wash over her, supporting her, and a surge of confidence made her leap into action.
Flamed surrounded her as if every one of her feathers had been set ablaze. It made her blood pump and drive adrenaline through her veins, making her movements faster and surer. She aimed for the sunkern, the one that definitely looked the weaker of the two, and tried to ram into it. Feeling a tad overconfident, she followed it with a scratch, hoping to deal just a bit more damage before backing up again.

Sunkern had simply been discussing something with his friend, the Teddiursa, when the sound of distant talk reached his ears. Craning his neck the Sunkern attempted to see what the chatter was, but was met with a fistful of gold feathers, fire and a nasty scratch across the cheek. With an ear wrenching screech the grass type flew over the tree stump he lazed on and hit the ground with a sickening crunch, dazed.
Immediately the Teddiursa was on her feet, eyeing Lotus with a look that showed anger, yet she masked her surprise well. Sunkern was her friend and no Pokémon got away with hurting Sunkern! The Normal type pulled her thumb from between her lips, where a thin strand of honey-drool slipped down onto her chest, and hissed out a fragrant scent that was sure to entrance the Combusken. Sunkern dashed back to her side just as she brought down her claws in a slashing motion. Sunkern, who was probably a few fries short of a happy meal, glared at the Combusken and flexed his leaves.
A lullaby drifted through the air, song notes humming about the Combusken’s ears in an attempt to put the fire type to sleep. The Sunkern was too stunned to do much else that turn, so resorted to simply allowing his friend to take the offensive.
