{desc=Seamus versus Avarice !} [div style="background-color:#D6CCC2; color:#3D3D3D [br"]; padding: 20px 28px 5px 28px; text-align: justify; width:494px; border-top:2px dashed #000000;]
Wednesday was the day when Avarice was supposedly having Gym Battles, making Seamus rather nervous as he rested up in one of the nearby hotels. The Crystal Cavern beckoned to him, calling him out with the whispers of riches and mysteries. It was a dark and sparkle filled place, reminding him of a creepier version of the Shasta Mines. It would be interesting to dig down there, if only he had a Pokemon with Flash or Illuminate. He once had a Volbeat that was capable of it, but now the bug was in better hands. Instead he was forced to stay warm inside various buildings, typing away on his computer as he researched more about his opponent.
There was actually quite a bit about Avarice, since she seemed like a rather busy and popular woman. Luckily for him, she hardly looked as flashy as Paris. That Gym Battle had been a nightmare, and he truly wanted to avoid a repeat of that flirtatious escapade. Most of his time was spent working until the big day came, so he was meticulous about making sure his team was in proper health before even daring to take a step outside. They were ready, or at least he thought they were ready. Kindle had his experience share as always while the others were holding various items that could lend them some support in case the battle became a little tricky.
The Gym was hardly difficult to spot, as it had a rather peculiar structure that reached high into the sky. Not only was the roof morphed into some odd artistic shape, but everything on the outside was purple. He grimaced at the feminine colors, feeling as if his personal space was invaded by her womanly touch before even seeing Avarice in person. He carefully opened the heavy doors, wincing as bright lights greeted him when he walked inside. What he saw was a rather plain looking gym field, with several rocks lurking about as hiding places for Pokemon. All purple. The hell was this monstrosity? "Your decoration skills need work." He commented bitterly, looking around the place with mild disgust. He had a feeling that he was going to regret this battle, and all of this was happening before he saw the girl's face. Gosh, Avarice. Get it together.

She was the fourth gym leader and outside of Jay, not many people in Cheyenne had reached her level or even gone past her. And she was one of the hardest trainers to beat yet, she was ranked as the 4th but she has had great luck against the other leaders ranked above her also. She was no slouch when it came to battling as she spent so much time training and powering up her pokemon for any situation.
As the trainer walked in and dissed her decoration, she could not help but cross her arms and give a loud "Hmph!" from it. She loved purple, and to have this person rag on it... Well he was making a huge mistake. One he'd regret later!
"So, double battle. Five max. Lets start." She said as she sent out her first two pokemon. Since he had yet to take out his, she wanted to just give him the advantage of seeing hers first, then from that she can test his strength.
"Ready for the toughest battle yet? I have heard from Steve and the other gym leaders that I am still their toughest challenge. Even though I am only the fourth gym leader." She said to Seamus. It was true though, in this special room... it was near impossible to beat her unless one was evenly balanced and well trained.
Her first two pokemon were both purple. One ground and the other air. And they both looked quite powerful as the Nidoking stomped the ground to cause a bit of an earthquake and the Crobat flapped her wings to send a very strong chill at Seamus. It made her laugh doing so!
"So you get the first move. Better make it count. I don't joke!" She said to Seamus.

Avarice looked about the same as Seamus expected her to look, not feeling very impressed at her charismatic style and flair. She seemed like a lively young woman, and thankfully she didn't seem nearly as flirtatious as Paris. She was perhaps a little more out-going than Adrian and less stuck up than Tina. So far, all of the Gym Leaders he faced were women. It seemed rather unfair for a guy like him, especially since he had a bit of a weakness for them. It was hard to deal with, though if they kept their distance then everything should be fine on his part of the field. "This is going to be a long one then." Seamus muttered as he heard the rules, wondering how long it was going to take him to get through this one. He was going to have to be a little rougher if he was going to get this battle out of the way, he figured.
It was a good thing he had Pokémon with attacks that were simply perfect for a long battle like this, thinking about it with a smile as the first two Pokémon were sent out. Not much of a surprise to see that both were purple Pokémon. He took out his Pokedex to give the pair a quick scan for their typing, needing an idea on how to handle this. Dealing with a ground type would be a pain for his Kabutops, but he figured that they'd make it through this battle in one piece. His hand slipped into his pocket to pull out the first two Pokémon for battle, not saying much of anything until they were both sent out with an eager stare at their foes. <Ha! Look at this! Fanciest Gym I've ever been in!> Xenon exclaimed, feeling the excitement build up within him as his eyes wandered all over the place.
Now Rust hated Xenon with a giant passion, muttering quiet curses to himself at the voice of his so called 'ally' of the double battle. <If you'd be quiet, you wouldn't be so dead to me.> He muttered with shifty eyes, feeling rather uncomfortable with this pairing. He couldn't handle a battle in a two against one set up though, so he knew he was going to have to endure this in order to get to the top. <You say something?> Xenon asked, gaze sharp as he stared at Rust with an accusing look. Rust muttered several things under his breath again, before taking in a deep sigh and shaking his head. <No. Just fight already.> Rust was already losing patience with Xenon, feeling as if this was going to be a terribly long and painful battle.
<Ha! Alright then! Hope you two are ready for us, because we're pretty tough.> Xenon called out towards the Nidoking and Crobat, not really knowing their names, but he was a friendly Pokémon. They were going to introduce each other properly! <I'm Xenon, and that's Rust. We're ready for you.> The Forretress gave the other Pokémon some time to respond, then jumped into his first move. Spinning around like a nut case, the Forretress sprayed a helpful layer of Spikes around the opposing team. <Hey, Rust! Stealth Rock! Back me up!> The bossy Forretress demanded, knowing very well what his comrades could and could not do. Rust rolled his eyes at this bossiness, hating it to the extreme. <Dammit! I was going to do it anyways!> His eyes twitched in annoyance, stabbing his claws into the ground and digging up several hovering rocks over Avarice's team.
Seamus could only watch on with amusement at their poor cooperation, wondering how this was going to work. It probably would be disastrous, but so far it was rather needed to set up the battlefield while they still could. "Aqua Jet on Nidoking, then Mirror Shot on Crobat." He advised, wanting to get some damage done on the first turn if possible. Rust was the swiftest of the pair, bursting into a jet of water as he sped off towards the ground type. Xenon had it easier as he formed this dense orb of metal in his cannons, soon firing it off towards the Crobat like pew pew pew pew pew.

Royale crossed his arms in front of him, trying to reduce as much damage of the aqua jet as possible, but it was rather hard seeing as he was quite weak against water attacks…. He really did hate water after all. > Hmph… is that all you got?< he acted all fearless, to show that he wasn’t afraid of Rust. Suri, was quite unlucky as well getting hit by the mirror shot, and she felt that it reduced her accuracy as well, getting hit near the eye it made it harder for her to see! > Oh you’ll pay for that!< she cried rather excitedly. “ Alright, Royale, use Toxic spikes as well! And then Shadow Ball at the Kabutops! Suri! Confuse ray Shadow ball on the fortress as well!” the young gym leader called out and quite swiftly Suri sent out a ray of confusion quite swiftly first before she gathered up some ghost power, sending a shadow ball at the Fortress. Royale begun to throw down some spikes he made appear around the opponent’s side before gathering up a shadow ball between his fists as well and sending it off to the Kabutops. ::nidoking:: ROYALE ( M ) 40 TYPE: poison / ground ABILITY: poison point & rivalry ATTACKS: toxic spikes - flatter - peck - double kick - venoshock - chip away - bulldoze - shadow ball PERSONALITY: majestic . fearless . deep hit by aqua jet used toxic spikes and shadow ball on rust. health is yellow::crobat:: SURI ( F ) TYPE: poison / flying ABILITY: inner focus ATTACKS: acrobatics - mean look - air cutter - confuse ray - bite - zen headbutt - cross poison - shadow ball PERSONALITY: swift . excitable . funny hit by mirror shot used confuse ray and shadow ball on Xenonhealth is high-yellow TAGS: modded <3 | NOTES: you’re welcome <3 [/style]

This plan was about to get really risky, considering how much damage everyone was taking so easily in the match. Avarice was definitely not holding back with her two beasts of Pokemon, so Seamus had to make sure that he wasn't holding back either. As much as he hated taking risks, he was equally impatient and didn't like long battles. If the situation called for it, he was likely to try and end things to make it less of a long and enduring battle. First he had to make sure that everything was set up though, to at least give his next three Pokemon a chance to hold their own against the ones Avarice owned. Toxic Spikes were spread around, but Seamus was hardly concerned about those. He read up about the attack once, debating whether it was worth teaching it to Xenon or not. All he had to do was send out a poison type like Chromate and his team would be safe.
It was the Confuse Ray that proved to be annoying, giving Xenon some difficulty in the match. <H-Huhhh? What am I paying for again?> He muttered, stuck in a trance as he hovered uselessly in the air. It seemed as if the Forrestress was going to attack with a Rapid Spin, yet the silly Pokemon decided to crash into the floor as if it was an opponent. Not long after that, a Shadow Ball tried to seal the deal by smashing into him from behind. <So much going on! I'm under attack! Call in the commander! Where is he?> Xenon yelped frantically, his mind going all over the place as he shook the attack off as if it was hardly anything. It was a good thing he was so defensive and resistant, otherwise he'd be as fragile as Rust.
<I have more than that!> Rust hissed, irritated at how well Royale was handling the battle. He nearly got poisoned that time as well, almost rubbing into one of the Nidoking's poisonous points on his body. He was going to have to be careful next time, or else he really was screwed! The Shadow Ball cut his health down rather hard, having trouble enduring special attacks like that at close range. <Fools. I'll teach you...I'll teach you all. Muttermutter.> He spat under his breath, backing off and using a quick Substitute to give him some extra cover in the battle. For Seamus, this was pretty good. It would stop his powerhouse from hurting himself in his confusion, though the low health was a pretty extreme drawback. The trainer could only hope that the next turn went well, or else this would be disastrous for him.

The bad thing about fighting a pokemon like Forretress is that it likely knew rapid spin which would ruin her entire plan. But the fact that it was confused and harming itself gave her some hope that it probably would not be able to use it before it fainted. Thus, she decided to change her tactic and focus all of her energy on that pokemon. The good thing for her was, neither of her pokemon were damaged this time around.
It seemed that the Forretress was too confused to do anything so it ended up harming itself. And the Kabuto did something weird as it looked weaker but also less realistic. A normal trainer probably wouldn't pick up what occurred. But Avarice had spent so much time training that she knew immediately. "Substitute eh?" She asked, right on point.
It bought her a turn although it also made it so she had to break the substitute first before she could attack. She thought carefully about it and then realized something, she could kill two birds with one stone!
"Toxic Spikes again. Lets make it long and dangerous!" She said and her Nidoking got to work as he sent although stream of poisonous spikes on the side of Seamus, on top of the first. It made the field more pretty and more purple, which she enjoyed. But it also made it more dangerous...
"Now air cutter on the Forretress! Lets take it out!" She said and her Crobat created razor like winds that she tried to slash the Forretress with. With that done, her Nidoking still needed an order.
"Bulldoze!" She said. It was perfect. Suri was flying and the two foes had some sort of susceptibility to the ground move... It was great! And Royale began to bull doze his way through the purple gemmed field, in hopes of smashing the two opponents as hard as he could. Now, things were looking up!

Toxic Spikes was going to suck in the long run, but Seamus knew what he was going to do. As clever as Avarice thought she was, Seamus already had a plan to stop that attack from bothering his team. His eyes trailed to the Spikes and Stealth Rocks on her side, knowing that he had a little bit of a plan to make even flying types and Pokémon with Levitate vulnerable to his tricks. It was a nice plan in his head, thinking that he had it all figured out like the genius he was. Then Xenon came around and started shouting off his usual confused bullshit, hopping mad as he fired himself around the field like an enraged comment.
<Someone, make him shut up!> Rust hissed from his spot, turning around to see the hyper active Forretress bouncing off of the walls like a pinball trapped in a pinball machine. He was hurting himself alright, but he was damn lucky that he had such a big shell. That was the reason why he seemed so oblivious to his own pain, all because of those defenses. The other Pokémon on the field heard his complaints, reacting with a heavy Bulldoze and Air Cutter towards the confused beast. <Dammit, not me too.> Rust's face twisted into one of annoyance as he glared at the Nidoking, feeling his substitute break all around him as the super effective strike broke him down. On the bright side, Xenon's steel and bug type defenses came through to him this turn. Nothing was super effective against this troll of a bug!
"Rust, get some health back. Leer then Mega Drain on the Nidoking." Seamus advised with a concerned stare towards the Kabutops, worried that his use and ability in this battle would soon be used up. The Kabutops groaned at the pressure this battle was putting on him, holding his big root tightly to get the precious health he deserved against the dual Poison and Ground type king. It would go for neutral damage, but health was health. His Leer was directed at both foes, feeling nothing but malicious intent for those that opposed him and his ways. The swarm of green orbs went towards Royale with hungry desire, eager to take what was rightfully his.

[STYLE=border-bottom: 5px solid #FFC7FF;] [/style] Gym Leader Avarice. Avarice was watching the flow of the battle and merely tapped her finger against her arm as she started to lick her lips gently for a moment. "Ah, I see, well-played, but I'm afraid I have to do this again. Royale, please give our guests the courtesy of using another bulldoze on the opponents, and also, Suri, use confuse ray on the forretress, then cross poison," she said calmly. There was no hesitation in her commands, but watched as the efforts of her Pokémon weren't wasted. A flawless attack from the kabutops was sent straight at the Nidoking, trying to gain some health, but luckily it wasn't super effective. That would have dampened her spirits a little. Welp, the health being stolen was no major loss as the Nidoking, Royale merely flinched a little from the sting of health being stolen. Suri was merely fluttering in the air and merely nodded to her trainer as she said those words. The grin the bat made was slightly sadistic as she aimed a confuse ray at the kabutops and then focused on flaring up the air with poison gas. Suddenly it formed at the tip of her wings, and was used as a wing attack with the poison attached to make it a cross chop of sorts with the poison gas attached. Aimed at the kabutops, and she wasn't stopping or slowing down in her attacks either. Royale merely looked at the forretress, and then the kabutops too. Sorry, folks, but I'm afraid, I must do as my queen suggests, he said to them, and then aimed a bulldoze straight at them, as the muscle band seemed to boost the effect again that would hit both Pokémon again. Sadly this battle was about to get a little more complicated, but Seamus was keeping an eye on how things were going. The first layer of spikes was scattered on the floor, only to have an additional layer of Stealth Rocks to further give Avarice's team trouble. Seamus definitely knew what move to use next, wincing as the Bulldoze made the ground rumble with its intense roars. The ground shook wildly as it damaged both Xenon and Rust, giving them more than enough trouble. <Yowza! My mind feels screwy!> Xenon muttered, shaking himself off after the attack as the confusion finally wore off. Now that he was able to actually move and think, he was left staring at Rust's poor condition. Luckily the Mega Drain and Big Root worked together to regain enough health to tide him over. <Having trouble, buddy?> Xenon asked, looking concerned as he stared at the Kabutops.
<Shut up. I don't want to hear it. Especially not from you, grumblegrumble.> Rust hissed in response, feeling an intense hunger for more health as the Mega Drain was complete. To make things harder on himself, the Crobat managed to send himself into a state of confusion. <Hooligan!> He spat, giving mock swipes in the air to try and strike the hit and run beast. It was then that she managed to hit him on his back with a Cross Poison, which wasn't very effective, but he was beyond exhausted at this point.
It was time to let everyone take a few painful hits this turn, then allow his plan to really work when he 'restarted'. "Gravity, then Self-destruct." Seamus demanded, knowing that this was the best thing he could do at this point. He wanted both of these weakened Pokémon taken out as soon as possible, even if it meant taking out his own Pokémon. Xenon never liked exploding so ruthlessly, yet it had to be done. Even he could see where Seamus was going with this, but it was cruel! Very very cruel! With a heavy heave, the Forretress quickly blew himself up on the field. He forgot the Gravity, since Self-destruct seemed a lot more important to the bug type than some silly space move.
The blast was more than enough to knock out both him and Rust, leaving the two Pokémon fainted on the ground with smoke flowing all around Xenon's armored shell. Seamus gave Avarice's Pokémon an observant stare, curious to see whether they managed to protect themselves in time. It didn't matter really, but he was going to assume that they fainted. Returning both Xenon and Rust, he sent out two new Pokémon onto the field. Chromate the Beedrill was the first to buzz around, looking worried as he saw the remains of the explosion. <Ugh. Xenon did this.> He muttered, recognizing the move as he felt the heat from the explosion drift over the field. The toxic spikes Avarice used were suddenly absorbed into him, making the field safe for Seamus's team. The other Pokémon to get sent out was Ethyl, who was much smaller than the rest of Seamus's team. In fact, she was the runt of the group. Using her might've been a bad decision for the scientist, but he was pressuring her to evolve as soon as she could.

Heck, Avarice herself should have been pissed by it because the blast not only went after her pokemon but also the beautiful purple pebbles she placed all over the field. But surprisingly, she wasn't upset at all. She saw the attack hit and could not help but smile and give a peace sign as it knocked both of her pokemon out.
"Yeah! You did it! Great job!" She encouraged her opponent, not something that one might see from a gym leader. But hey, she was more than just beauty. She was also super awesome! And she accepted this fate. She was also the fairest gym leader ever, possibly a bit too fair at times as she sent out her next two to take on the Totodile and Beedrill.
When she saw the Beedrill hit the field, it quickly absorbed the toxic spikes she had put in. Which would have upset most people but not Avarice, because she was awesome! "Hey, glad someone else likes the purple!" She noted when the Beedrill took it in. Too bad the Totodile wouldn't get to appreciate it.
But her next two would. And with that she threw out her pokeballs and from them came her Grumpig Akane and her Drifblim Plural. But she was beyond fair, and even though Seamus had the first move in the first round, she allowed him it again in the second. She was the gym leader, so she decided this.
"You can go first again hun. Make it count." She said to Seamus.
Akane came out and saw that the field had been filled with a nasty residue from the previous attack. And the obnoxious star wasn't too proud of it... >Hey jackass! What is your problem? Why ruin the beauty of my stage?< He voiced angrily.
Plural was also effected negatively by the attack, but not in the same way. Instead, he saw it and simply sighed. >All things beautiful always die!< He said. Moping.

The battle was heating up when all four Pokémon were completely knocked out in the first few turns of the battle! Now that Seamus had his traps set up, the Grumpig was left to take a little damage from the Spikes and Stealth Rock left on the field. It would add up in the end, which was a nice bonus for him. The Driftblim might've been immune to the Spikes due to being a flying type, but it was weak against a move like Stealth Rock. "I-I guess I'll take the first turn." He mused, not expecting Avarice to let him go first again. Perhaps it was because he was patient and waited to see what was going on, which really seemed like common sense to him.
Chromate's Quick Claw started to twitch with energy, getting ready to activate after preparing so long in battle. The Beedrill couldn't use it just yet, but he felt his breath quicken with anticipation for the chaotic attacks. Things were about to get crazy, especially when he went nuts with his favorite Twineedle attack! <Ass. Keep your mouth shut.> He retorted, not wanting to hear insults upon arriving on the field. He glanced over to Ethyl, who seemed more of a nuisance than an actual battle partner. She was only going to slow him down, he could tell just by looking at her submissive posture. <Straighten up before you make me look bad.> He growled with a bitter expression towards the Totodile, remaining unfazed as she flinched at his expression.
She straightened up at least, looking nervous as she felt the pressure of the battle heat up. These Pokémon all looked quite a bit stronger than she did, which made her wonder if she'd be able to keep up with them all. Chromate was strong at least, but she could tell that she'd probably end up getting in his way one way or another. "Focus Energy and Twineedle on the Grumpig. Make your attacks count." Seamus demanded, knowing that Critical Hits were very rare, but they were much more likely to happen on moves with multiple strikes. Chromate slashed his two stingers into each other, sharpening them like blades with a bored snort. It's been a while since he had the chance to battle, so he knew he was probably a bit rusty. <Call me a jackass, will ya?> He huffed, definitely a bit offended at the language as he went in for the poisonous bug type move.
That left Ethyl all by herself, and Seamus wasn't sure what to do with her at first. His thoughts jumped over each other as he debated what she should try. Being a support Pokémon wasn't really her style, but she was going to have to play the part when Chromate was on the field. "Screech on Grumpig, then go for a Metal Claw on the Driftblim." He commanded, not wanting to ruin the surprise of her strongest attacks just yet. The little Totodile looked nervous about screaming her lungs out, but she did.
<STAND DOWWWWWWN.> She shrieked with her eyes closed, mostly in fear of what the Grumpig was going to do to her after it. Her claws went hard and had a silvery sheen as she prepared her Metal Claw, looking towards the giant balloon with awe. What if she popped it? She wouldn't get in trouble for that, would she? With a gulp, she aimed a big scratch at one of the long arms that dangled closer to the ground.

For some reason this thought did not occur to her immediately until she looked at them again right before Seamus made his move. It seemed that Akane had lost 1/4 of his health already, and Plural had also lost 1/4. Those spikes and stealth rocks were definitely an annoyance on her butt. Mainly because they were not purple and ugly. But also because they seem to hurt her pokemon a lot...
Akane wasn't very excited to see himself at his current state, losing 1/4 of his health before the battle even started. He was about to raise and smash everyone. His partner, Plural was actually a bit more excited. Mainly because he was so depressed that he actually found losing to be not too bad. That way he could go back and mope till his heart is content.
But enough about them, there was a battle ahead... The first thing that occurred was a pair of needles making their way toward Akane. They did not hurt that much individually but combined they were seriously a pain in his rear end. It also did not help that they were super effective against him, which made the pokemon much weaker and angrier than he was originally. >Woah?! What the hell do you think you are doing? Don't you know who I am! Don't you know who I am?!< He asked, angry that he had just sustained such a large attack from his opponent...
His night was about to get worst as the screech came after him next to deafen him momentarily. And in this, it caused others to be deafened by his loud and obnoxious screaming... >WHAT?! WHY CAN'T I HEAR? WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO? WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO TAKE AWAY MY TALENTS?< He screamed. He sure was an attention whore...
But luckily for Avarice, Plural had an easier time as he only faced a metal claw from a weaker foe. The attack still hurt nonetheless, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been or should have been. He was fine at the moment, which allowed Avarice the turn now.
"Nice move. Very nicely played. You my good sir are one fine trainer!" She complemented before she got ready herself. She looked at her two pokemon to start and saw that her Grumpig in just a span of two turns already looked like he was about to faint soon. Her Driftblim looked to be in much better shape, but still it's personality did not help her at all.
"Alright, why not... Confuse Ray on the Beedrill and then Psyshock on it. Lets see how it likes attacking others!" She said and Akane got himself ready. He first jumped up, having his belly flop up and down as he tried to confuse the beedrill with his big belly of hypnosis. And then after, he pointed his spoon at the bug and tried to shoot a wave at him. >Take this! Teaches you to attack me!< He said after.
"And Plural. Well... Lets stockpile, then payback on the Totodile!" She said and the Driftblim got to work. First he increased his size and defense with stockpile before he tried to return the attack to the Totodile with twice the damage.

Chromate didn't particularly care for the Grumpig's rants and raves, instead keeping quiet to stop encouraging this pig from yapping up a storm. Sometimes ignoring others was a good trick to make them stop bothering you, and he really hoped that this applied right now. Even Ethyl seemed to be having trouble dealing with the Grumpig, recoiling backwards at his vocal retaliation. He was one mean piggy! She looked down in a flustered attempt to regain her composure, only looking embarrassed and timid from her spot in the battle field. Seamus didn't think much of it, figuring that some Pokemon were more vocal than others when it came to battles. What a shame though, considering that he recently traded to obtain a shiny Spoink. That meant that whenever he used the blasted thing it was going to do this.
Avarice's random compliments made Seamus a little uncomfortable as he stood in his place, feeling as if he had to say something nice to return the favor. It wouldn't have had much emotional attachment, as it was more of a compelling feeling to receive and give. With all of the compliments Avarice was giving him, he honestly was questioning how much she meant them. The more she said them, the less of an impact it gave him. Though he had to admit, it was an awfully nice thing of her to do. Perhaps the younger generation was better than he first thought. "Thank you..." His voice grew soft without thinking about it, looking nervously to the side as he tried to orient his mind back to the battle. Staring at the Grumpig, it looked as if something really annoying was about to happen.
Ethyl had quite the level disadvantage to deal with, yelping from the pain of that Payback as it smacked her backwards. The Driftblim was much too strong for her! She found herself regretting attacking a big guy like him in the first place. Chromate had his own trouble, especially due to the confusing beam of light that spiraled towards him. <Eh? I hate pictures.> He snorted as the light flashed in his face, leaving him dazed and vulnerable for the Psyshock to strike his physical defenses. It wasn't a major difference compared to his special defense, but the super effectiveness killed him on the inside. <Crap!> He exclaimed with a regretful wince, attempting to swipe at the Grumpig in retaliation. All he managed to do was smack himself in the face, buzzing around wildly as the confusion took over.
"Confusion really is a pain." Seamus wasn't complaining, since he seemed to be more amused by it than anything. This was his typical strategy with Neon, though the Magnemite made things much more hellish by adding on a Thunder Wave to protect herself. Ethyl was going to get knocked out at this rate, so he decided to let her get a few good hits in before seeing her go down. "Dragon Dance and Crunch on the Driftblim." At least it would be super effective, since they really wanted to get damage on that bulky thing. Ethyl was more alone than before without Chromate for support, looking around the field and seeing nothing but gloomy and passionate eyes in her foes. They really were intimidating, especially when they were directed towards her. She sucked it up and gave a little jig, looking like that green frog from the Warner Brother's cartoons. <Um. Right. H-here I go.> She didn't sound very confident as she charged towards the large ghost, closing her eyes from nervousness as she hopped up and tried to give him a nice little CRUNCH on Plural's rear end.

And she was doing a great job here as she saw the Beedrill suddenly attack itself which helped her for the moment, as it meant that the pokemon was not attacking them. This gave her some time as she noticed the Totodile get to work. First it did a weird dance which seemed to give it a nice boost before it ran after her Driftblim with it's teeth open trying to chomp down. She knew this attack, as a partial psychic trainer she had been trained to figure the super effective moves against her and figure a way out of it. And so she knew this would not be good. So, why not just avoid it?
"Dodge!" She said and Plural slid himself out of the attack and landed safely at the moment without suffering anything. So this was a good turn for her so far. Two for two. No damage done and a chance to really weaken her foe. She wanted to take full advantage of this now and she quickly gave it some thought before she came up with her attack...
"Alright. Shadow Ball on the Totodile. Lets show them how it's really done." She said and the scared Driftblim just listened and sent a ghoulish ball at the alligator pokemon. With that, it was time for her to use her Grumpig again. But what now?
"Ugh... Confuse Ray again. Then Psybeam on the Beedrill once more." She said. She knew it was the stronger of the two so she could not just leave it alone and not attack it. And with that command, her Grumpig got to work, first by sending another ball of confusion, this time at the Totodile before he created a rainbow blast and shot it at the Beedrill again.
>THIS IS WHAT YOU GET!< He said after. He was still yelling as the screech was still bothering him. Or the aftereffects were.

The Grumpig appeared to be fairly weak at this point, so Seamus was starting to wonder if it would be smart to knock it out while they could. Considering that it was being an offensive beast by blasting these very effective attacks against his strongest hitter, it was starting to sound like a good idea. He doubted that the Driftblim would be giving Chromate this many problems, so it was time to try and take that fat pig out. The only issue was that another Confuse Ray was used, sending Ethyl into a state of confusion. <My head hurts...> Ethyl whined quietly to herself, panting as she rubbed her eyes to try and get rid of the effects. She wasn't treated so kindly this turn when Plural used his strong Shadow Ball against her, blasting her backwards from the force of the attack.
She wasn't having the best luck at this point, breathing even heavier as she stood back unstably. It looked as if she was ready to fight again, despite her weakness. Seamus thought she looked reliable enough to make an attack, so all that left was Chromate. Would he even be able to take the Psybeam at this point? One look at him told him that he could, despite the rainbow colored beam that overflowed around his entire body. It looked like quite the attack, which was only even stronger because of the Twisted Spoon. "Tailwind and Ominous Wind on Grumpig." Seamus could see the speed boost coming in handy for the future, though whether they could dodge when this tired was a different story. Ethyl had a bit of an evasion boost due to her item, but accurate attacks still had an easy time honing in on her. "Ethyl, go for an Aqua Tail on the Grumpig." They had to finish this psychic type off before it could knock out Chromate, which was his biggest concern when it came to strategy.
Chromate's wings whipped up a powerful Tailwind that sped both him and Ethyl up, allowing them to move even faster for a short period of time. It was a refreshing attack for the Beedrill as cool winds continued to keep his overworked body cooled off, but despite the benefits he couldn't help but take this battle seriously. He could hardly relax anymore these days, even in casual battles. Gym Battles naturally had more pressure, as it was the event they had been training for the entire time while out on the routes. Bitter thoughts were carried over in the shape of a dark colored wind that swooshed over to the Grumpig, ready to prey on the loud mouthed Akane. Ethyl thought she knew what she was doing as water started to form on her tail, swirling around like a whirlpool with a focused expression. It was then that the confusion decided to kick in, making the water blast smack her in the face for a little recoil. It sucked and it hurt, clear from the pained yelp she let out.

Even so, she had to be careful of the attacks that were being flung now, but she put a hand on her hip for a moment. Then tapped a finger against her chin softly making her body move into a rather suggestive position unknowingly. Well, she was reading the attacks, but that ominous wind was something she had expected would hurt her drifblim quite a lot. "Try dodging that attack too, Akane!" she said to plural, but the grumpig had heard the command at the last second. Suddenly, Akane was forced to jump back from how fast the beedrill had appeared in front of him. There was no time to react as the ominous wind suddenly hit the grumpig, and the super effective hit definitely hurt. Now was the drifblim's chance to do something other than just sit there floating in the air watching the grumpig fall. "Tch, damn, you're really good, but don't forget this isn't over!" she commented as she then noticed that Akane was still holding in there for the moment. Even as his health was dropping, and when he tried standing up he suddenly fell over forwards with his eyes spinning. Returning the fainted grumpig to his pokeball, and then had to resort to figuring out what her next Pokémon would be. Looking down at her belt she noticed that she did have one Pokémon left, and then smirked as she released her mismagius, Reap. The flowing robes of the Pokémon seemed to just ripple around her like a wave. Now looking out across the battlefield at the other Pokémon let out a slight yawn. I was taking a good nap too, she whined, but soon went silent. "Plural, use shadow ball on totodile again, and Reap, dearie, please use Nasty Plot, and then use Shadow Ball on the beedrill," she said confidently. Plural suddenly let his body glow a rather dark color as the sudden ball of energy that was formed in front of him was pitch black in nature. Then it was tossed rather violently towards the totodile at a frightening speed, but there was still time to dodge it if it was noticed. When Reap had appeared she merely nodded, and then wagged her finger in the air with a coy smile. That's when her body seemed to glow with dark energy as well, and soon the same ball was forming in front of her. This one, however, was aimed at the beedrill as both shadow balls were tossed at their respective opponents. Chromate skillfully stabbed the Grumpig despite his confused state, only aided by the speed of the Tailwind to keep himself agile and flexible. Winds blew beneath his wings to keep him going as he turned around, feeling confident and smug about himself for successfully knocking out the Grumpig. It was a battle well done, even if there was still another Pokemon he had to deal with. The Driftblim shouldn't have been a problem though, at least until he saw another Pokemon sent out. <Are you kidding me?> Chromate groaned, not expecting something like that to happen. He never had the memo about how many Pokemon were going to be used in this battle, leaving him angrily scratching his head at the sudden surprise. "Not a bad team you have there. Must've been hard to collect and train so many purple Pokemon." Seamus commented from the sidelines, taking note of the rarity of the ghost types that she owned. Ghosts were not a common type for him to see, and his experience with them was fairly limited. At the very least, he was aware that they were immune to normal type moves. Endeavor wouldn't be able to help him anymore.
This turn was a bit of a flop for Seamus, which wasn't something he could particularly help this turn. Both of his Pokemon ended up smacking themselves in confusion, and then to make matters worse they had to deal with two Shadow Balls to the face. It was enough to send the Beedrill and Totodile into a land of sweet dreams, hardly moving on the field save for their heavy breaths. Enough energy was robbed from them during this battle, and they looked as if they'd be completely disoriented even after the Gym Battle for the next few days. He'd have to be careful about when he chose to challenge Avarice again, assuming he lost. "Double knock out...didn't see that one coming." He sighed as he returned the pair with reluctance, believing that at least one of his Pokemon could've dodged the Shadow Ball. Sadly his luck was terrible right now and it was not meant to be. All he could do right now was debate which Pokemon would be best to take on two Pokemon, which had him at a loss.
Kindle had the experience share, so he wasn't entirely inclined to use his Jumpluff in this battle. That only left his Bastiodon and Magneton, which was a bit of a tough choice. One would've been more offensive while the other was literally a wall, making it difficult to pick. Seamus eventually decided on using the Bastiodon, releasing the massive Pokemon onto the field. Acetate appeared with a thunderous crash as his heavy feet stomped on the ground, nearly cracking the ground due to his weight. There was so much bulk on this Pokemon that it was ridiculous! "Taunt on the Mismagius. Can't have it using Confuse Ray anymore." Seamus knew that this was something only Acetate could do, making him an even better choice for this match.
The Bastiodon rolled his eyes at the command, but started wiggling his elephant sized buttocks at the ghost. <Want this? Can't have this! Ha!> He scoffed, trying to rouse the Mismagius with his terrible taunt. "Now hit the Driftblim with Ancientpower!" At least rock type moves were super effective against flying types, so this was bound to hurt. The Bastiodon let out a loud roar as rocks rose from the ground with a strange, mystical power. He shifted his body forward to propel each of the rocks, unleashing the swarm towards the Driftblim to endure.

She was glad someone was able to appreciate her talents, as she worked hard to be in the position that she was. And he seemed to notice that she had an affinity for purple pokemon, and even complemented on her training of them. She spent a lot of time crafting her art which was why she was only open once a week, as she had the other days to train and become as good as she possibly could be.
Thus she wasn't surprised to take down both of Seamus' Pokémon. But what was a bit shocking was when he returned back with his final one. A Pokémon that was built like a rock, and thus probably could sustain many attacks like a rock. She knew she had to play it smart here or else she'd lose, but what exactly would she do?
She heard the commands come and immediately cringed a bit. The status moves she used were definitely helping her a lot, so to have them eliminated... Well that wasn't so great. But she still had a two on one so it wasn't all bad. The only problem was, when she heard ancientpower. Well, now it became a bit worrisome.
She knew it'd be super effective against her Driftblim and it could easily and very likely take the Pokémon out. "Dodge it!" She said, but unfortunately Plural was not able to move quick enough to do so. And to add injury to insult, the taunt also affected Reap so both were kind of "out of it" at the moment.
But this did not discourage her. Or at least not that much... She still had faith in her ability. Especially when she saw Plural survive the attack. It seemed the increased special defense was all that he needed! "Alright. Now lets make it count!" She said as she waited for the two to get themselves positioned to hear the orders and attack.
"Plural Swallow!" She said and the Driftblim was able to take in his stockpile to recover some health. Not enough to survive another attack like the one he just faced, but he was at least not as injured as before...
"Alright. Magical Leaf Reap. Lets do some damage!" She said and the Mismagius sent a rainbow colored razor leaf like attack at the Bastiodon. But unlike the razor leaf, this never missed!

So that Magical Leaf was a pain in the butt when boosted not only by wise glasses, but with a Nasty Plot well. It made the ghost rather frightening as the sent those impossible to dodge leaves at the heavy set Pokemon, failing to flee from the attack even with the Tailwind to back him up. Well, that was fairly useless. The shiny Bastiodon shook the attack off with a growl towards the two Pokemon, not liking how they were both getting ready to gang up on him. He'd have to get to them both first before they took him down!
His boosted speed made him a bit more formidable as an opponent, giving him a bit of an edge when his own attacks were sent towards his foes at a faster rate than before. Judging from how that Driftblim failed to dodge in the last turn, it was safe to credit the Tailwind for allowing that to hit in the first place. Good job, Chromate. "Metal Sound on the Mismagius." Seamus ordered, knowing how to handle these two Pokemon when Acetate had attacks that could hit multiple opponents. Munching on a few of his leftovers to prepare his body for the attacks, Acetate snickered as the sweet juices quenched his thirst. He adored apples--loved them! The gritty texture was perfect for a rock type like him, and when you combined that with a sweet flavoring then he was all set. <Hah! Hah! Hah!> He suddenly roared, allowing his metallic rings to be carried by the Tailwind over to the Mismagius with haste.
"Now hit them both with a Blizzard." Seamus felt awfully smug as he said that, thinking 'checkmate' as he glanced towards the flying type on the field. It was highly unlikely that the big fat balloon would be able to endure such an attack, and to make it even better for him, the Mismagius was at risk of being hit as well. It couldn't possibly go wrong! It wasn't as if there was some kind of aftermath that would make bumps in his plans. Acetate proudly fired off a fierce blizzard attack at both of his foes, trying to even it out to a fairer one versus one battle. Blizzard was not the most accurate attack ever, but it was still a good attack in double battles.

He heard the metal sound request and saw as the ear wrenching noise came at Reap and really harmed her ears at the moment. She could tell immediately that it was part of a ploy, a two part strike that would likely put her out of the match. But even then, she wasn't expecting the next order. >BLIZZARD!<
Oh! That sent shivers down her spine as she saw the attack come at both of her Pokémon. Luckily Reap was able to avoid it before it struck, but Plural wasn't so lucky as it knocked the poor Driftblim on the ground and out of the match. She sighed and immediately returned her fallen foe as she acknowledged the turn of events to Seamus.
"So now it's the end. One on one. Lets see who comes out on top!" She said as she gave him a smile. The match was just where she wanted it to be, with the last efforts now to put the finishing touches. "Reap, Shadow Ball! Go!" She said and the Mismagius sent a ghoulish attack at her foe. The type advantage of the Bastiodon would make it not as efficient as it could be, but the nasty plot would be a nice boost to it nonetheless.
She just hated that her Pokémon was still under taunt.
