Name: Aisling Lacore(Aisling is "Dream" in Gaelic)
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Birthday: May 13th
Appearance:
Standing at five foot five, she is of average height for a woman of her age, slender but muscular, with richly tanned skin and a slightly bow-legged way of movement that is a testament to her upbringing. Her hair is unusual and normally braided to be out of the way. It's long and thick, a rich, white shade, with strands that are dyed an emerald green color over her ears. She has ice blue eyes that sometimes seem to see into a person's soul, but are often filled with amusement and just a hint of stubborn determination.
Clothing of sturdy, serviceable fabrics are all she owns and wears, usually jeans, cowboy boots in a worn brown and comfortable shirts, generally in shades of gray, black, blue, green and white, sometimes with decorative embroidery. She also wears a small pendant made from a piece of the Icy Stone in the Sinnoh Region, gifted to her by a man who adores her.
Personality:
Determined to succeed is often the first thing that comes to mind when one sees this woman coming toward them, her stride confident and unafraid. She left home ready to take on the world, and has little fear of failure, although she knows all too well that it is not always possible to succeed, either. She comes across as slightly out there at times as well, gazing into space or just admiring the wilderness around her, but she has been taught to appreciate the beauty of the world and not take it for granted.
Stubborn, but fair, she has trouble understanding why people act as they do sometimes, why people would steal from or harm others. This comes from living the first ten years of her life isolated on her family's breeding farm, visited only by people who she'd grown up with and knew well. She learns quickly how to deal with certain types of people, depending on how she views them, but still prefers not to socialize with those who she feels are "dark" in personality, or cruel. She's not afraid to voice her thoughts either, which can get her into trouble with some of those people who she subtly(and sometimes blatantly) insults.
On the flip side, she is loving and kind, a talented trainer who has been studying Pokémon for some time, though she does not yet have one of her own and therefore has not been able to test the things she learned in school save in a very restricted environment. Her desire to fly free, to be independent, is what finally brought her to the Cheyenne region to test her mettle.
History:
The daughter of two talented Ponyta breeders, she was raised around the spirited horse-like Pokemon, as well as the dog-types that were bred to help with herding them around. A love of Pokémon naturally developed with this, and she learned to ride the Ponyta at a very early age, fueling her love for freedom and the feel of the wind through her hair.
Her childhood was fairly normal, with the exception of an incident when she was eight that has since made her nervous of the Legendary known as Entei and a huge fan of the one known as Raikou. She was out riding the shiny Rapidash who was one of the primary stallions of the herd when rather abruptly the volcano near her home started to rumble warningly. The sound, and the way the earth was shaking violently, caused Rapidash to start and rear up. She wasn't expecting the action, and ended up on the ground on her butt, watching the glow of the Pokemon's flames as he fled in fear. Abandoned and alone, she got up and headed for home, watching the sky uneasily, hearing noises around her as the wild Pokémon fled from the approaching wrath of the pending eruption. As she ran, she happened to glance up, and saw something dancing in the sky among the smoke and glowing ashes, something faintly canine in shape.
Fear started to take root in her heart as she recognized Entei, God of Fire and Volcanoes(Or so she had been raised to think) and she started to run faster. But something scurried in front of her, causing her to trip and fall hard, hitting her head on a rock. She blacked out, and when she came to, lava was flowing around her in heated, glowing streams. The heat didn't touch her though, though why she didn't know, and she rose shakily to her feet, her fear of being consumed by the lava(or Entei) overriding the splitting headache caused by the collision of her head and the rock. Carefully, she started making her way towards home, but eventually she became trapped, unable to find a way over or around the lava flow. She had just abandoned all hope when a roar sounded overhead, and she looked up just as lightning flashed, blinding her.
When she could see again, she found Raikou, God of Thunder and Storms, standing before her, and she cowered, thinking it was going to hurt her. Instead, she found herself being urged onto its shoulders, and it leapt into the sky, passing over the lavafield and taking her within thirty feet of her home, where she was dropped off. Before she could thank it, lightning flashed again, and it was gone, leaving her, baffled and aching, to make her way inside.
At the age of ten she decided she wanted to know more about the amazing creatures who called her world home, although she wasn't ready to go out adventuring quite yet. For this reason she was sent to the Trainer's School in the Sinnoh Region, where she'd been born and raised, and she spent the next nine years there learning tactics and type advantages and disadvantages. Many times she had the chance to battle with other students, proving herself a capable trainer, but she felt restricted in these battles, which were too predictable and quickly grew dull for her. Despite that, she took her time, wanting to be absolutely sure she was ready before she left home for good.
During those nine years, little happened to her, for she was one of those students who liked to keep to herself, though she did have her friends among the others. She was teased horrendously about her hair by some of the "popular" kids, who she grew to not quite detest but sorely dislike. She consistently took her revenge for their insults by soundly defeating them in the Pokémon battles, proving to them that popularity was no swap for skill and learning.
At the age of seventeen something happened that put the entire school into a tizzy. The Pokémon Champion, Lance, came to visit the school and see how it was doing. Unknown to the students, he was also searching for an Apprentice to replace the one he'd finished teaching, and had decided to look among them. That former Apprentice came with him, and he and Aisling formed a close friendship that almost culminated in something more. She decided she didn't want that just yet, and when Lance left, so did the young man, though he left her a small token of his affection for her that she still wears around her neck.
Now nineteen, she has decided it's time to make her own way in the world, and has come to Cheyenne to begin a journey she hopes will be filled with wonder and friendship.
Other information:
Although raised with Ponyta, it was the Growlithe and Arcanine she truly grew to adore, as well as the Eevees, with their unpredictable and varied evolutions. She also adores Pidgey and its evolutions, especially the strong-spirited Pidgeot. She hopes to own at least one of all these eventually.
