Entry 4: Verona City. This is the biggest city I've been to in a while. Ever since I started into Cheyenne it's been nothing but grass and trees. I keep meaning to stop by Electric City, but every time I start towards it I start thinking about Gym challenges and Contests...I start thinking about how I'm not ready. My team is a great team so far, to be sure, but they're not yet strong enough to get in there and take on professionals.
I'm a little frustrated with the entries in this journal so far. Normally, I fill the pages with information about the area I'm in, the people I meet, the Pokémon I see. Good, solid facts. But lately it's been more personal, more like a diary and less like a field journal. I don't mind that I'm putting down personal impressions, but if I'm going to compile THE comprehensive guide on Cheyenne, I need more facts....
Emil sat back on the grass, his back against a big tree. A breeze ruffled the branches, but there were no leaves to make a sound. Winter was a dead season here in Cheyenne. In front of Emil's feet, Sho and Major played happily, enjoying their time off of the trail.
<Here, this is your pile and this is mine.> Major shifted the pile of small blue berries over in front of Sho and scooped the bright red pile in front of himself. Sho looked at them thoughtfully. <What do I do with them?> he inquired of Major. Major rolled his eyes. <Haven't you ever had a berry fight before? You throw yours at me and I throw mine at you, and whoever gets the messiest loses!> Sho looked at Major's long arms and claws, then back at his own stubby legs. <How am I supposed to play without arms?> Major, unconsciously scooping a clawful of berries into his mouth, looked at Sho bemusedly. <Uh...well....>
Emil laughed at the two Pokemon, enjoying the day.
