Watching the fog rolling in through the sky, but he really didn't care at the moment. A chuckle left his lips as he brushed his hair back away from his eyes and then looked forward at the road ahead of him. Having visited the Pokémon lab recently, but he was no longer concerned about that as he kept Meowth out of her Pokeball. Yes, his Meowth was named as Midnight, but he planned on keeping her near him at all costs. Looking down at her he smiled warmly, but no words needed to be said. Even as he walked along calmly, and seemed rather at ease with everything. There was no excitement evident on his face.
Looking to the left and right as he headed down the rather dreary path that slowly opened up to show him how much of a problem he'd have seeing through the fog that rolled through. Even as the dense clouds rolled past his vision, he still stared onwards and moved slowly forwards with Midnight, his meowth strolling beside him. Keeping his starter pack in his bag, and making sure he had all of his pokeballs he needed just in case he met a wild Pokémon. Well, what was he to do now that he had something to look forward to during this wonderful weather. The stern face and expression could melt an iceberg. Raising an eyebrow at Midnight as she cuddled up to his leg, but he merely smiled softly.
The only Pokémon that was allowed his rare, serious smile, but he heard footsteps in the distance walking nearby. Kneeling to the ground he soon had Midnight do the same as he pressed his hand to the ground, and Midnight copied his actions. Soon he turned towards her and patted behind her head gently, "Let's go," was all he said in his stern, serious, deep voice. Midnight mewed at him, "Meowth! I'm eager to help you out with your dream, mew!" she said excitedly to him as she closed her eyes with a wide smile on her face looking at her trainer. Wagging her tail slightly and moving forward with Arthur as he kept moving forward now despite knowing of any oncoming Pokémon nearby.

Smiling as she skipped along her merry way, a cheerful young Bidoof was on her way home from her grandma's dam. She was well fed as she set off into the fog, not caring that she couldn't see very far away since there couldn't really be anything dangerous out here. It was such a peaceful route, and she never saw anything especially dangerous out here. Her belly was full with oatmeal rasin cookies as she felt warmed to her heart, just walking off the extra weight until she heard something interesting nearby. It was a human, a trainer most likely, and he had a pet Meowth wandering around his legs. She looked pretty well pampered, and she couldn't help but wonder if she was a princess or a trained Pokémon. Which was it?
Not one to dwaddle on thoughts, she had to simply interact and find out what was going on, whether it put her in danger of a battle or not. Approaching excitedly and looking completely energetic as she burst after the Meowth, skidding with a halt as she beamed at the cat, she started jabbering. <Oh girrrl! Are you a princess?> She asked, completely thrilled as she wiggled her rump with so much energy.
She was an overbearing Pokémon that didn't realize how obnoxious she was at times, and from the way she charged towards a stranger, she probably seemed like a threat to the paranoid and quick to react.

Arthur was already on guard, but the instant he saw the ominous form approaching his guard went down, and boredom dawned on his face. Looking at the bidoof, he soon realized she was looking for fun, or something. After all, what else would a wandering lump of nothing boring fat want with him? Even as he considered his options, he merely looked at his Meowth wondering what on Earth to do with this Bidoof...but he had an answer as he smirked at the Bidoof carefully. Midnight wasn't prone to take advancements like that, but her claws were extended as she held up a paw. Saying in her rather low growl, but very defensive since she was the only one who could be near her trainer this time.
"Back up, your fat is in the way of my trainer's path," was all the prissy Midnight said to the Bidoof, but she was itching to fight as her smile soon faded, but turned into a serious glare towards the Bidoof. Razor-sharp claws extended and prowling towards her first..victim shall we say. Arthur merely mused at his lovely Meowth that was trying to show her splendor by acting all serious and tough all of a sudden. Even if she had been tallying by his side didn't mean she wasn't going to get serious now, and Midnight wasn't one to beat around the bush after learning from her trainer that there were more ways to a battle than just fighting. ENJOYING the fight was the essential part of it as she suddenly pulled out boxing moves while on her hind legs.
Arthur laughed at Midnight, and this caused her to shoot a glare at him, "Go easy on the Bidoof, I'm sure she's just looking for some food, but it's just a good thing too cause I need to test out your abilities, how bout a battle?" he asked the Bidoof, acting as if he hadn't insulted her earlier. Yet Midnight hadn't backed down yet, but was on the defensive in case she needed to attack the Bidoof when her trainer commanded it. "Ready when you are, master," she mocked, "Not master, sir to you," he remarked back.

The Bidoof was taken aback when the Meowth called her fat and told her to move. How rude! The Bidoof's brow furrowed. Oh, this was personal! The Bidoof wasn't actually that fat. She just had a bit of a beer belly from 'storing' up food for the winter. Speaking of which, wasn't she meant to be hibernating or something?
"Go easy on the Bidoof, I'm sure she's just looking for some food, but it's just a good thing too cause I need to test out your abilities, how bout a battle?" What? The Bidoof grinned maniacally and prepared herself for the battle. “Come at me, bro,” she taunted. Battle was all part of the adventure to her – if she could win this fight then she could get to places she wouldn't be able to!
She took a loping run forward, attempting to tackle the Meowth, but ended up tripping over her own paws and falling unceremoniously onto the ground. As she rose, she groaned, and looked over. Oh god, please tell her they weren't laughing...

Arthur didn't laugh, instead he lunged at the opportunity while she had fallen to strike while she was down. Hating to wait at the same time, but he was glad she had taken the opportunity to challenge him. Funny enough that the bidoof was calling him such a thing, "I'm not your bro...I can make sure that you won't be saying that again anytime soon," he stated boldly to her, but he appeared over-confident and could be seriously under-estimating the bidoof tripping over it's own feet. It was highly amusing to Midnight, though, but her eyes glinted showing she would show no remorse to her opponent. Midnight the Meowth soon looked at her trainer and nodded, claws extended further as the points on them glistened in the sun as if she had been trimming them to keep them razor sharp. Of course she would, since she was female and loved to properly trim herself of course. That wasn't her trainer's job, but he did groom her every so often to keep her from nipping at his hands or scratching his face. Evidently there were scratches along his arms, but that was from rough playing, not annoyance. Arthur loved the way this battle was going to go, but he had to shout a command out soon before meowth was knocked out by that ball of blubber. Ah, hell he wouldn't be much of a trainer if he didn't take a chance now did he? So instead he soon yelled to his Meowth, "Midnight! Iron Tail! Don't go easy on her, and make sure not to miss either," he said to her. ARTHUR USES BAD BREATH...kidding...he mused to himself as he tasted the cold air after speaking that, but soon took out a mint and chewed on it. It was very obvious he was still laid-back, but he was curious if he should actually catch this bidoof. Surely she would make a great ally later on, but he decided not to in this case. Soon his Meowth's tail took on a shiny edge as it formed into steel. The tail itself was raised upwards and Midnight jumped up to spin around in a somersault aiming her tail for the tip of the bidoof's head with a hard propelling force downwards...one could only hope that the bidoof didn't move at the last second. Midnight's glare at the Bidoof was even more serious. Arthur was still annoyed it had called him bro, but he decided it would be best to let it be. Maybe the next one would be a more....clever opponent that he'd actually have to use an actual strategy with. Although, this battle was just getting started. Maybe she shouldn't have said 'come at me bro' because it only seemed to agitate the trainer and her Meowth. She was surprised when the tail came crashing down upon her like a tidal wave – and it even felt like that as well. Her head pounded, her ears rung and she groaned as she tried to recover from the attack.
Damn it, that had hurt! She'd be sure that she would become wary of that attack later on, but for now she needed to retaliate at the Meowth. “Nice swing, bro, but I've seen a baseball player do better!” She teased. “I'll show you the most powerful move in the world! Be amazed!”
And what was this move, you wonder? “Tackle! Go!” Oh god, what is this? The Bidoof ran straight for the Meowth and prepared herself to ram into it's belly. If it hit then she'd try to plough it straight into a tree. If not, well, that sucked.

Arthur wasn't amused by this fact, but he knew just what to do at the same time as he noticed the attack. Midnight was still in the middle of regaining her balance until she finally felt a strange force on her chest...but her claws instantly sharpened in the air. Lower claws digging into the ground to lessen the impact of the tree, but she wasn't going to let this bully push her back any further. Even if she was hit, she could at least lessen the damage a little, but taking the brunt force of it had knocked her back a little. Then she heard her trainer, Arthur, shout out, "GROWL! Then use scratch!" he said to her. Midnight soon let out an irritating growl in her throat, but then it turned into a high-pitched low-tone growl that resembled something meant to threaten the bidoof to lower her attack. Then without remorse, her claws came down and aimed for the bidoof as her razor sharp claws looked like they had an added effect due to one of her abilities. Midnight wasn't playing nice now as her face contorted into one of rage and serious agility as the swipes to the bidoof were actually aimed at it's face. What a cute little growl! What an adorable little kitty. She had no idea that Midnight was actually trying to harm her. She forgot about that for a second to marvel at the cuteness of the cat. "Don't worry kitty." Bidoof assured the Meowth. "This won't hurt too much!" She smiled. But then was scratched. That hurt. She rubbed her nose and grumbled something about it hurting. Patting the new wound softly she turned back to Meowth. Might as well attack back no? An adventurer never backs down! Unless they get an arrow to the knee. She ran towards the Meowth to use another tackle attack.

Arthur was watching the fight from where he was, but almost wished he could help her out a little by doing more than shouting commands. Like walking up and kicking the bidoof in the face to end this little charade. It was hard to determine if this fight was really even worth the effort or the time it took to defeat this little bidoof. Finally he just came up with another plan, and soon the meowth's growl dissipated afterwards. Even as the bidoof was readying another tackle, and soon he yelled to his Meowth, "Dodge her," was all he said this time. Midnight merely looked at the silly Bidoof and sidestepped her as she tried using the same move again. Midnight also attempted to stick out her foot to trip the Bidoof so she landed on her face...but that was only if it actually hit her. It was merely to throw her off guard, but she didn't know if this move was really legit or not. So instead she pulled her foot back to at least be nice to give the Bidoof a chance at the small hope of victory she wouldn't be able to receive. "We'll wait to see what she does next," Arthur said to Midnight. Name:Midnight Gender: Female Level: 5 Health: 13/15 Attacks: scratch 34/35 PP - growl 39/40 PP - iron tail 14/15 PP Dodges Tackle

the bidoof could feel the air going through her hair, the way she enjoyed using tackle like this so much. then it ended. just stopped. what happened? why was the blowing wind gone? when she opened her eyes, because they were obviously closed, she was standing still. when she turned around, since the meowth wasn't in front of her, she came to realize that the meowth had moved out of the way. was she that slow?
> whoopsies! < the bidoof giggled out before coming at the meowth again, pushing her low limit of speed. she really hoped that she made contact this time!

Why on Earth would this Bidoof not give up? After all it's running around, and the wind it's ears seemed to trouble him. Arthur was just glad the fog was still shrouding them, but he could tell this could require a little more than just luck. Perhaps a change of tactics would be necessary so he soon had Midnight use growl this tie, and slightly louder than last too. Starting to wind up her rear leg as she waited for the next command and what they rehearsed. This was Midnight's mind at the moment...bases loaded...they were down to nothing, but they had only one shot at this. Maybe this would be the big win that they needed, but in her eyes that didn't matter. Soon as Arthur said, "Midnight! Iron Tail!" Ah, that was the pitch and the ball was heading towards her...which was the Bidoof running straight. Winding up her arm she made a twirl in the air with her first and then stuck her rump out as she looked like she was about to make a batting stance. Instead, as soon as the bidoof was within range, she stepped to the side lightly just an inch, but knew the tackle would still connect a little. Using the momentum of her body, Midnight then turned around and suddenly her tail grew rather hard again like the cold edge of a steel blade whipping around in midair. The WHOOSH noise followed and was aimed right underneath the bidoof's chin if she got close enough. Avoiding the attack was acceptable, but after all the effort, they would strike out most likely. Arthur was rooting Midnight on now as he clapped his hands at her doing it right making her beam slightly before getting serious again as she outright glared at the Bidoof as her tail finally made it's way around to hopefully do more damage than last time. pokemon encounter ! yes! yes! it's a miracle! the bidoof stood on her hind legs after her attack hit. sort of. she was oohing and aahing to herself for her victory, waving her hands in the air. oblivious to the fact that the meowth iron tail was coming to smash her face in. it connected, and it sent her body into a jerk. she whined pitifully. her face had abruptly been smashed into the ground. however, after her mind spinning rubber ducks for a few seconds.. the massive beaver sat back up. she shook her head, rattled. < ouch.. you meaniebottom! > she taunted, before trying to charge him with her full body-weight behind it this time. BOOM, was what she was after. then, later. she could hop up and down on the defeated meowth. yepyepyep.

Arthur was glad that attack hit, and as the bidoof face planted....Arthur had to do it. As he then put his fist to the ground in a rather victorious pose as he then yelled out, "STRIKE ONE! Come on, Bidoof, you can at least leave a mark!" Taunting the Pokémon to do better, but he really wanted to see a challenge. Midnight wasn't really enthused by her trainer edging the Bidoof on, but she'd deal with that later. Right now, she was focused on the fight as she had felt the tackle hit her it was not just the brunt force, but she'd get used to it. "Okay, let's try something new, Midnight use Scratch!" Arthur said to Midnight, the meowth and she soon used scratch again like earlier...hoping it would do additional damage as she used both claws this time aiming for the bidoof's legs. "Bring it on, loafy," Midnight taunted the bidoof, ready to take the brunt force of the tackle again. <I'm trying to make a mark, gosh! Don't pressure me!> The Bidoof whined as the trainer kept taunting her, as if he was encouraging her to keep going forward and pushing herself to do more. To be better. The Meowth was simply so cute though, that she wasn't exactly the most determined to beat the crap out of the feline. Midnight was so cute, sweet, and pretty, even if her attitude reeked of bad ass.
<Ok kitty witty!> The Bidoof commented a bit derpily towards the Meowth, getting scratched up at her legs. Fur was coming off as she hissed from the pain, having no idea how to react other than to whine about how much it hurt. <Miss sweetie weetie Midnight Rainbow! Why did you do that?> She was suddenly completely infatuated with the Meowth and her cuteness due to the amounts of growls it used on her, combined with her very Simple nature. Plus she thought it was a good way to get back at all of the fat jabs they were giving her, which was a pretty low blow.
<Here kitty witty! Play with me!> She giggled gleefully as she charged after the Meowth again, hoping that she'd manage to barge right into her. She didn't look very threatening, but the creepiness and annoyingness would probably bother such a haughty cat.

Arthur was getting tired of this, but he decided to go with his same strategy that he should have done from the start...just using growl constantly would have made the bidoof less intimdating too. Even though it's attack was easily overwhelming Midnight, and this near death scenario was so intense he could feel his heart rate increasing a little. "MIDNIGHT! GROWL! SCRATCH!" Arthur yelled..then glanced at the bidoof for a moment. "Nah, sorry, have to encourage you somehow, after all, we don't want you going home without an adventure to talk of for the rest of your life that you may never have happen again anytime soon," he said to her, offering her the first smile of the day. It was true, he really didn't want to hurt this bidoof anymore after noticing her fighting spirit. Too bad he didn't need one, but this would surely take some time out of his day. Midnight heard his commands and just follwed up as she was hit by the bidoof's tackle again...this time slightly annoyed as she used a rather fierce growl instead of the calm, tame ones earlier. Dangling back on her toes after falling over, she instantly lashed up to use a scratch attack along the bidoof's face again. WHY THE FACE? Cause she could, and it was amusing to Midnight to ruin the Bidoof's pretty looks as she gave her a glare that could melt ice. "I admit you have fighting spirit, but you'll soon no longer be in a condition to fight. almost as if it were coordinated, the moment the bidoof fell down, a pidgey came up. > you! no not you, with the brown fur. you! yes you with the shirt and cat! < the pidgey then advanced, getting a good glance at the other. > you see here, i'm making this play. Arthur was smirking as the bidoof finally fell over, but he was having a change of heart as he looked at his belt. Then a shiny object out of the corner of his eyes caught his attention, but he ignored it as he found it was just a piece of random glass or a reflection off one of the shiny stones. Sadly, he had no interest in it any longer as he took a long time to think of what he wanted to do. Sure, he didn't mind the bidoof, but perhaps giving her a warm home would be something to write to her family about. Arthur wondered where she had wandered from, but he would take her back to her family soon as he had an intent of releasing her. Deciding to take a different course of action than previously determined, and this was also because he didn't want any nasty trainers getting their hands on her. Midnight just watched Arthur with curiosity, but suddenly her attention turned to the Pidgey that suddenly bolted in. Claws flashing towards the cute little bird that had Arthur's eyes focused on it. "A PIDGEY! Why, Midnight why don't you play along with his little charade? This could be fun...I look forward to seeing your acting abilities. After all, that was a wonderful performance against the bidoof, don't you agree pidgey?" he said, admonishing her skills, but expected the pidgey to be a harsh judge of character. Even so, Arthur was certainly going to make it part of his team once he figured out what it wanted by doing this play. Arthur was curious if this Pidgey was dead serious, but in his eyes, Arthur could tell this was no joke. Forgetting about the pidgey now Arthur soon turned his attention to the Bidoof again. Picking out a pokeball from his pouch, and then lobbing it at the downed Pokémon. Yes, he would capture bidoof and give her a new home. Also, he'd name her Fidel, just cause it was a cool name that deserved to be kept in confidence. Deciding to break his naming streak of cool names like Midnight, but this one was fairly cool in his own mind. Soon as he tossed the pokeball he saw the red light flash, and now he just had to wait for that fateful moment when and if he caught her. So..where were we? Ah yes, Midnight was finished with the Bidoof, and now a strange little bird came out of the bushes. Midnight's eyes wandered to the pidgey, and drool started to run down from the corner of her mouth as in her eyes she saw a steak on a stick. On two walking sticks in fact, and she was tempted to tackle it, but when he mentioned a play Midnight's ears perked up. "Play? I would love to be in a play, do I get to play a princess? Wait, male role, wouldn't I be better as the leading female role? I don't have to be picky though," she said calmly to the pidgey restraining the growl hungers that her stomach was making. Arthur was thoroughly amused by this and soon spoke up, "She'll do it either way, I want to see this play you have planned out, after all I bet you put a lot of work into this, my dear friend...if we do this would you consider joining my team after witnessing our acting skills?" he asked the pidgey. Wondering if a battle would ensue or this play would actually go without one at all. Arthur didn't mind either way. The pokeball then stood on the ground near the Pidgey who was not interested in picking it up, or interested in protecting the Bidoof. No, he had other businesses to attend to, like getting the Meowth the star role she deserved.
He was glad that she agreed and he quickly began planning the glorious play that she'd be the star of. >I have it all down right now. You will come in, all hero like with your hair flopping everywhere. And in big letters it will say... PURR THIS! Meowth here!< He said, imagining it already and hoping the Meowth saw the same thing.
>And your trainer can be in the background, in a Charlie's Angel pose. It will be LEGENDARY! He quickly said out loud.

Arthur soon heard the pidgey directing this and was thoroughly amused by the little bird that seemed pretty serious on how to act. Perhaps someone would love this little eccentric bird that was giving him orders all of a sudden. Of course, he wasn't sure if his pleas were heard, but he doubted it since the pidgey was really into getting this play drawn out. Arthur put his left hand up in front of him making a V with his fingers, and then sticking his left hip out as he put his right foot forward. Giving him an awkward feminine stance, but then held up his other hand like he was holding a gun as he was making a blowing face at it after blowing the smoke from a gun he had recently shot. Midnight was waving her tail frantically as she tried to pick up on what the Pidgey was telling her. Arthur soon did a crotch thrust into the air to emphasize his victory further hoping this wouldn't disappoint. It was something he wanted to look cool, but with his figure it always looked cool. Midnight was walking up a little bit as she put a strut into it, slowly sauntering at the same time, making it look dramatic. In a deeper, yet smoother succulent voice she said her lines, hoping this would play out nicely, "PURR THIS!" Queue head toss with the imaginary hair flopping around, "Meowth here!" she then wiggled her behind a little as she put her paw up to her mouth. Looking at the pidgey with those big, round eyes that made her look cute, and innocent as she put her finger to her meowth lips innocently. I hope I don't disappoint him, I worked hard to get this leading role, was what she was thinking. PIDGEY APPEARED ! The Pidgey seemed very, very pleased with the Meowth's performance as she demonstrated the very scene he'd described. She was absolutely perfect for the leading role! <My feline friend, you look absolutely fabulous!> He said with a wave of his wings.
Then he cleared his throat and folded his wings again, giving her a more serious look. <Now, what if I told you the play is coming on in less than five minutes?> He asked, looking utterly serious. Why so srs. <Hurry along! I'll pay you at the end!> He chirped excitedly, trying to grab the Meowth's paw with one wing and hop towards their destination where several pokemon were waiting to see the Pidgey's latest play.
