Name: Cameron Davey Leyton, a.k.a. “Ron” Gender: Male Date of birth [Age]: 4/25/1996 [16]
Appearance: Cameron isn’t the most attractive guy around, by most standards. Cute, maybe, but not attractive. He is only 5’4” tall, but still manages to weigh in at a somewhat tubby 160 pounds. His frame is by no means obese, but those extra pounds serve to hide what might have been an attractive figure, under different circumstances. His skin is rather pale, and short auburn hair tops his scalp in a meticulously-combed fashion. A shade of light brown colors his eyes, which seem much too big for the overall size of his head. This fact, combined with his rounded visage, gives him quite a “baby face”. Cameron is often assumed to be around thirteen years of age by people who don’t know better.
Most of the time, Cameron wears the very teen-typical long jeans and t-shirt combination. In fact, his usual set of outfits is so limited that it could be considered downright boring. Unless the weather demands otherwise, you are unlikely to see him wear anything besides long jeans and t-shirts. Sandals are his shoes of choice, although he is more willing to change his selection in this area if the situation calls for it. A humongous white backpack serves to contain all of the supplies he keeps on hand.
History: Cameron was born in Slateport City in Hoenn, where his two middle-aged parents had decided to settle. They were both divorcees that had decided to re-marry, and the relationship was decidedly unsteady, even before Cameron’s birth. As an only child, Cameron was rather lonely, which wasn’t helped by the fact that he found keeping friends to be a difficult task. His burning temper existed even then, and he had a habit of snapping at even good friends on a regular basis. Add the fact that his parents were distant and rather unfriendly, and you get one very friendless child. He soon made a habit of wandering through the city, observing the people and pokemon that bustled about the busy port.
Cameron did well in school due to his intellect, and managed to find comfort from his non-existent social life in study. He always had an interest in pokemon from observing them on the street, but during middle school his fascination with them started to grow. Well, that isn’t entirely accurate. His fascination with trainers started to grow. Cameron could see that trainers had almost unprecedented prestige, and longed to have the same fame as they did. One day, he encountered a trainer from the Cheyenne Region at the port, who told him all about the diverse, mountainous area of his homeland. At that moment, Cameron decided that he would become a trainer in the Cheyenne Region one day.
About a month before Cameron’s sixteenth birthday, his parents decided to file for a divorce. Quite fed up with the drama by this point, he decided to leave right then and start his journey. He saw no reason to stay, after all. Without even telling his parents, he just left with his things early one morning, and hopped on a boat headed towards Cheyenne.
Interactions with Pokemon: Cameron was raised in Slateport City, which allowed him to encounter a diverse amount of pokemon from all over the world. He has spent quite a lot of time observing and studying them, which has provided him with a lot of head knowledge. When it comes to hands-on experience with battling, however, he has none. Cameron has no particular favorites, but stronger is better according to him. In addition, he considers dragon-like pokemon to be particularly impressive.
Personality:
- Irritable
Cameron gets angry with a ridiculous amount of rapidity. Seriously, this guy might yell at you for simply looking at him funny.
- Bold
He has a gratuitous supply of bravado. He would never hurt his image by backing away from a challenge or risk, no matter how dangerous.
- Knowledgable
He also happens to be quite knowledgable when it comes to pokemon, and will take advantage of this fact to impress (or annoy) people.
Cameron can be rather repugnant to other people, being perfectly insufferable when he’s in a good mood, and downright unpleasant when he’s not. Most of the time, this guy carries so much pride with him that his head should be the size of a hot air ballon. He views himself as being superior to others, especially in the knowledge department, and will gladly try to prove this fact. When he is proven wrong, he will probably either storm off or shout at you for a while. He tends to get his angriest whenever his pride is injured. When it comes right down to it, though, he’s pretty harmless. He wouldn’t actually hurt anyone without good reason, unless he worked himself into a hotter fury than he is wont. Impatience is also a problem for him, but it is mild enough in comparison to his other faults.
Now, don’t go thinking that Cameron is nothing but an irritable pig. He, like everyone else, has his good traits. As discussed before, he has quite a brain in that head of his. Information retention just comes easily to him, and his memory is superb. (All the better to maintain his grudges. XP) In addition, Cameron manages to be quite organized, and tries to prepare himself for every eventuality. His backpack has plenty of room for extra supplies like food, twine, a flashlight, and pretty much anything else you would need to have on hand while traveling through the wilderness.
Goals in Cheyenne: I’m definitely looking to do some major character development with this guy. I don’t want to play an irritable, rash, chubby teenager forever! XD How he develops will probably be determined IC, though. He’s likely to focus on powering through the gyms as fast as possible, unless he somehow experiences a change of heart. The way I see it, he’s either going to grow to be a more even-tempered, balanced individual, or a pokemon-beating criminal. Either way, I’m sure it’s going to be fun!
