The rain was just absolutely pouring down. The loud pitter patter of the rain striking the soft dirt path filled the air, the water filling the air with the sweet earthy smells of spring.
Though the path was more or less abandon, and the few people on it scurrying for shelter, Genevieve Florence found the weather rather enjoyable. She could sing, she could dance, she could splash in puddles, and no one was around to give her odd looks or tell her to stop. Sure her hair was in her face, and her red and black motley clung to her form, but at least she was having fun.
"The lab, the lab, the laaaab~ i'm look for the....LAB!" she chanted, skipping down the path and on the final lab of her chant, jumping into the nearest puddle, before hopping out and repeating her chant again and again.
By the time Genevieve reached the lab she was soaken wet, and from the knees down, covered in mud. Humming cheerfully, the young woman wandered inside, bright blue eyes rapidly moving about as she took everything in.
So...this was a pokemon lab huh? Looks sciencey. Trodding across the floor, oblivious to the muddy footprints she was leaving, Gene cupping her hands to either side of her mouth before yelling, "Helloooooooooooooooooo? Anybody Home~?"

[STYLE=border-bottom: 5px solid #FFC7FF;] [/style] Professor Winter A rustling was heard as the Professor was actually in the next room over and scuffling through some of the old letters he had gotten from pokemon trainers about their journeys. Receiving updates throught he mail was definitely slow and he preferred when they called him via the PC at an actual pokemon center where they were normally safe. Even so, pokemon could fly pretty fast too if they were used as the ones flying the letters over. Soon as someone was asking for him, a loud banging noise was heard and this was followed by many papers flying all over the place. An exasparated sigh escaped his lips, and Professor Winter pushed up his glasses as he got up out of his office chair to go deal with the newcomer. Putting on a smile, he exited the room, and entered the main lab area where he met a distinctive beauty. Although, he wasn't interested in fraternization at all, and instead went straight to business. "Ah hello there, I assume you are here for a pokemon, and are just starting out your journey, yes?" he asked her calmly and handed her a list of the pokemon he had on stock. Wondering if she knew what she wanted. A small smoochum was following the professor and carrying the stack of papers he had worked so hard to stack in order. Now that they were all over the place she had taken the time to pick up all of the stray papers to give them to Professor Winter. Not now smoochum, go back to the room til we get it all sorted out, he said to her. The smoochum agreed and slowly went back to the room so she could finish sorting out the mess. ::smoochum::

The random bangs and noises of ruffling paper did draw Gene's attention, though before she could investigate further, some random dude, who she assumed was some lab assistant, appeared from the room. The guy looked nice enough she guessed, though he was looking at her as if.... as if she was soaking wet.
Blinking slowly, she glanced down at herself, and at the puddle of muddy water forming at her feet. With a meek smile she accepted the list, looking at the list of Pokémon the man offered.
If it wasn't for the fact that each Pokémon listed has a picture beside it, she honestly wouldn't have much of an idea as to what any of these listed Pokémon were. She'd seen Pokémon before, and played with her dad's, but she definitely didn't know them all by name.
"So Magby would be a cool fire eater.... Feebas a clown... Magnemite could be useful for juggling... Smoochum could sing or dance...or apparently to my paperwork.... Heracross would be useful for a tumblers act... Larvitar has diamonds on it, that's truly truly outrageous... but that Zangoose is cool! All strong and cool, but kind of reminds me of a Jester...."
Pausing the young woman bit her lip for a moment, before handing back the list and began doing jumping jacks. It probably was a little strange, and it certainly was difficult on the slippery wet floors, but physical activity always helped Gene think better.
"Yeah just starting...name's Gene...." she said between jumps, focused mostly on not slipping and crashing haphazardly into something that was probably expensive and rare.
"I want the Zangoose!" she finally said, skidding to a halt as she stopped her jumping, arms waving to help her keep from falling over.

[STYLE=border-bottom: 5px solid #FFC7FF;] [/style] Professor Winter Well, at least this was going to be easy and he held up a finger. "I forgot to mention, I'm Professor Winter, and just a moment please. I suppose the zangoose will be yours, but you may need this first," Professor Winter said, and was soon picking up a starter pack beside many others nearby. All containing the same thing, and he was definitely ready for new trainers to come pick up their pokemon. Looking to the girl for a moment as he handed her the starter pack, and then dropped it off to her. If she didn't catch it, well it would hit the floor. Wouldn't break anything, but still, he suddenly disappeared into a back room after opening a door. Within minutes he had a pokeball in his hand with the zangoose in it, but he didn't release it just yet. Handing her the pokeball and deciding to let her what to do with it. To keep it out or just have it in the pokeball still. "There you go, all you need, and your new pokemon, take good care of it. I have more papers to take care of, so if you don't mind," he said calmly to her as the ruffle of papers was still heard in the background. It sounded like multiple pokemon were now working on cleaning up the mess. Professor Winter bid the trainer adieu and soon moved back into the office to get letters sorted out again. As soon as she was given the starter pack, Gene immediately began rummaging through it, curious as to what was inside. There was a belt with some pokeballs on it, a pokedex, some potions...and some berries!
Glancing about, and seeing the Professor had wandered off to get her pokemon, Gene began to juggle. She was no where near as good as her father of course, who was a professional, but as a Daddy's Girl she had of course learned. She could juggle up to four things without too much trouble, so three berries was simple enough.
"Just toss the ball over!" she said once the professor had returned, eyes focused upwards, to the space where the balls arc'd.
Once the pokeball was in the mix she slowly turned and left the lab, singing softly to herself as she juggled her way towards route 1.
