Name (Nicknames?): Johto's Assistant Professor Luke Evans Gender: Male Date of birth [Age]:May 24th, 25
Appearance:
Luke is of a frail build with a large mane of tossled black hair held up often by a headband to keep it from falling into his eyes while he works. His green eyes are bespectecaled by a pair of thin rimmed black glasses, and his skin is a bit pale. He stands about five foot four inches, and often wears blue jeans or blue dress pants a dark red shirt, and a black tie, with a waist length lab coat and pair of black dress shoes which he swaps out for heavy black boots when traveling. When he gets too hot he may change this out for plain white or grey button ups with black ties, and white tshirts when desiring informal wear which isn't often.
History: The sounds of conversation and shuffling footsteps filled the room almost immediatly after the professor dismissed the class. A crowd of students funneled through the classroom door out into the halls of the Goldenrod Acadamy for the Study of Pokémon. Luke however remained in his seat, his eyes scanning the pages of a particularly large book labled "Botany and Anatomy: A Study of Plant Type Pokemon".
He had not noticed that the class had been dismissed, nor had he noticed the calls from his friend George that is before he was wrapped hard on the back of his head by George. "Oi, c'mon class is over, why do you still have your big nose in a book? Hell graduation is like three days away, what are you doing?!" he questioned just as Luke raised his head, pushed his glasses up on the bridge of his nose and glared at his friend.
"Just because this is my final term, does not mean that I have, nor need to stop cramming knowledge into my brain" he commented calmly as he began to pack up his things. "In fact, my chosen profession as you know involves learning as much as I possibly can, but" he paused a moment to shove a particularly large text book into his overly full messenger bag, "I do need a smoke, and you probably won't let me be anyway" he slung the bag over his shoulder and turned back to his red haired friend.
George smiled turning towards the door, it was left ajar, and the room had since emptied of students. The professor still sat at his desk, but paid the two no mind, as they made their way out of his classroom. They wound up on the grounds of the acadamy, where there were scattered students, some rushing to other classes, others hanging our leisurly talking to friends, or eating. "I'm starved so I was thinking we should grab something to eat" he said to Luke, he turned his head, but Luke wasn't there Luke was about 15 feet behind him, staring wide eyed at a small pidgey, pecking at something along the ground.
Luke was not on the grounds, Images flashed across his eyes, a man lying prone bleeding, the ground falling away from him rapidly, a loud screech, and then Georges voice. "You okay mate? Chill out its just a pidgey." Luke shook his head, he was drenched in sweat, and George was staring him in the face. "Y...yeah I'm fine" He lied, both of them knew this happened everytime Luke got close to a bird, but his response was always the same. He never wanted anyone let alone his best friend to worry about his phobia.
They eventually wound up at a small diner about fifteen minutes from the acadamy grounds. They were sat at a bench seat near the large window in the front of the diner, both with large greasy hamburgers in front of them and a huge platter of fries. Luke had wanted a seat near the bar, but George insisted on the window seat having said that Luke needed more sun or he would be able to blind people with his pale skin. Luke thought he might be right after examining his almost chalk white arms and hands. "So what do you plan on doing after graduation?" George had asked him after the food had been delivered to them.
"Well, its something I've given a fair amount of thought too, and the regional professors here in Johto and Kanto want a little more information about the Cheyenne region, they don't have much commucation with that region, and very little researchers in the area working with that regions researchers. It seems like a good way to make a name for myself, what about you?" He commented in detail staring down his fries before popping a couple into his mouth slathered in ketchup.
George laughed, "Not a bit, you know me I just like going with the flow. They'll probably stick me someplace I hate knowing them. Can't say I blame them though, have you seen my marks. Even I'm surprised that I'm gonna make it hell." he gave a hearty laugh, and polished off his burger. Luke hadn't finished half of his. Before long they were headed back to their dorm room, where Luke had stayed up to finish off "Botany and Anatomy" before passing out in what one would assume would be a fairly uncomfortable position.
The next couple of days had came and went without incident, and the night of graduation had finally arrived. The ceremony was loud and, Luke had to give a long winded speech in front of his classmates as well as their families. It felt a little bland and standard to him, as he had to encompass those below his standard, and in the more minor fields of Pokémon study, but it ended to massive applause anyway, despite the bored looks on the faces of most attendants. He assumed noone liked these speeches anyhow.
He had graduated with top marks, which was the reason he was chosen to give the speech despite not being a fantastic public speaker. He recieved his dipolma and all his awards, he wasn't sure who applauded or cheered louder his mother or George. His professors were all beaming at him, including a few big names who had attended in the back to look over their new collegues.
His mother assaulted him accompanied by George after the ceremony, beeming. "Luke! LUKE!" she called waving at him before huging him tightly. "Your father would have been proud." she said to him as a brief image of a huge fearow bearing over a bleeding man laying prone flashed over Lukes mind for a moment. "I never thought you'd follow in his footsteps after that Fearow....." She broke off now looking a bit sad.
"That...almost caused me to stop this endevor, but the actions of the other Pokémon who saved me from that damned bird, as well as hoping to find ways to prevent accidents like that from happening again, is what drove me on. You know that Mom." he told her remembering the ground as it fell away from him, tight claws gripped around his torso, binding his arms together. A brief lapse, the sounds of screams coming from the bird as a Gardevoir pelted it with psychic attacks after hearing his screams, and slowing his decent after the bird had dropped him suddenly. The warm embrace of his mother not unlike the one he felt now from her.
He snapped back to reality, he had drifted off again and his mother was shaking him slightly now. "Luke, are you back with us? Luke sweetie" He smiled at her. "Yeah I'm fine, sorry" They went out to celebrate, George and his family followed, they ate at a nice resteraunt, and were showered with graduation gifts from family friends who had been at the ceremony, and that had followed them to eat. Conversation boomed, and Luke had felt a great elation at being done with his schooling even though he was a huge nerd.
He spent the rest of the night among friends and family, finally parting ways with them around Midnight. Him and George went back to their dorm to finish packing. "I didn't get to tell you, but they are sending me to the Unova region." George said suddenly to Luke. Luke looked flabbergasted, "But thats incredibly far away, farther than even the Cheyenne Region I think." He said a bit sad he wasn't going to see his best friend probably for a very long time.
"I know, they decided to send me there, because they have noone there or willing to go there, due to the distance, I'll be the first. I guess its because despite my poor marks, they saw how well I handled Pokémon outside of school" George had spent a lot of his free time at the lab's assisting professors in their studies, while Luke had buried his nose into books during his free time.
"Well at least you'll have job security" Luke joked as they had finished packing the last of their things. He was happy that George had landed a good position despite his poor marks, and wished him luck, and threatened him to stay in touch. "HA! you couldn't beat up a half dead magikarp, let alone pose a threat to me" was the response he got, and he had a sinking feeling George was right, he was much better built that Luke. The next day they said their last goodbyes and parted ways, and stayed with family until work started.
A week later he started work, He was in the regions largest laboratory in New Bark Town. George had been here the day before and had already departed for Unova, The head professors from both here and the neighboring Kanto regions were there to arm him with information about the Cheyenne region so that he wouldn't be completly lost when he got there, as well as information on what he was supposed to do, which was to study how the Pokémon lived in this region as well as to see how their battling styles, breeding styles, and interaction with trainers differed from his home region.
The regional professors were to be notified of him before hand, and were to give him one of their starters to help him out in his research. This worried him slightly as he had very little hands on experience with pokemon, but he figured there was no helping it, he needed the experience.
A couple of hours later he was in the helicopter being flown across the vast ocean wondering what awaited him in the Cheyenne Region, and wondering when he would see George again.
Interactions with Pokemon: Outside of books Luke Evans has had very little experience with live Pokémon. He knows types, and habitats, as well as a large amount of move sets of plenty of species. He is also quite knowledgable of the different species themselves. Bird type Pokémon scare him after being attacked by them when he was young, so he avoids them at all costs even within his research. Personality: - Quality 1
Luke is booksmart, he graduated near the top of his class, and this knowledge serves him well in his studies.
- Quality 2
He has almost no hands on experience in the field of pokemon, which is quite a hinderance despite his chosen profession.
- Quality 3
He is also Indifferent when working, or when intrigued or making queries. Often forgetting anything important he needs to do to focus on learning.
- Quality 4
He is as well of kind heart, he wont deliberatly harm anything, and is a nice guy, but he isn't the heroic type.
- Quality 5
Has a nearly paralyzing fear of bird pokemon, stemming from an incident in his childhood.
- Quality 6
Often gets caught up in his own imagination, daydreaming constantly, and losing touch with reality.
Goals in Cheyenne: Luke was sent to Cheyenne to study, and work under the professors there as a field researcher. His goal is to learn how the Pokémon live in the cheyenne region as well as how the react in battle. He will be undertaking the league challenge to study the gym leaders and how they interact with their Pokémon as well. This serves the double purpose of giving him hands on experience with Pokémon in the hopes that he will learn what books cannot teach.

Looks good! Accepted! I know Skippy has a bunch of flying types on her character's team, which could be interesting if you're interested in a plot. I also like his goals in Cheyenne! Should be fun to mod his route threads! :'D Welcome back!

Thanks, I tried something new with his history glad to see it went over well Lol Flying types are...depending, obvious birds may cause hysterics but like charizard dragonite and such are a completely different story. Of course heights make him a bit sick.
