Her mind drew into a moment of peace, where she mulled over her new friend. Things had gone so well, and she had even gotten a new battle partner! He seemed so cool and understanding and everything, it was just really... like he... understood, kind of.
It was weird how he thought it was so funny, although maybe it was his personality. She had never had someone laugh about the circumstance instead of her, and it was really quite puzzling for a while. Her eyebrows narrowed as she thought and thought it over, until she remembered what he had said earlier. Maybe he was just joking-- she had THOUGHT he was just joking. About the testosterone and... but, what if he wasn't joking? What if...
What if he was being serious. What if that's why he found it so funny and had been so nice and understanding and had treated her so well and complimented her Pokemon so much? Because he really did understand, because he... Now she was all irritated and bothered, nervous as all heck. She picked up her Yanma, who was still a bit tired, and went after the trainer, hoping to find him before he wandered off to far.
She found him right above the underground tunnel, dusting off his Meowth. "Um, hey!" She shouted, almost a bit too loud as she made her way over to him. "About earlier--..." She cut herself off though. What if he WAS just joking around? She couldn't just assume that he was, but she desperately wanted it to be true. ".. I, uh, I mean... Um..." Her ears were red hot, and her fingers fumbling about the body of her Yanma, who was looking more irritated at the fidgety coordinator. It didn't take too much longer before he flew out of her arms and landed in the soft grass nearby to wait for her to settle down.
"Oh, gosh, just... Just forget I said anything..." She mumbled, wondering if she could backpedal out of the topic before she got herself into trouble. "How's the cleaning g-going?" Her voice squeaked a bit as she desperately tried to change the subject.
Lugh (M) Lvl 8 Speed Boost, Compoundeyes Tackle - Foresight - Quick Attack - Shadow Ball - Ancient Power Lugh is a trusting, if a bit Naive Pokémon. When in battle, Lugh is like the Irish Deity his former trainer named him for; fast and prone to hitting with quick shots. He's unlikely to question the orders, because his trainer wouldn't hurt him to win a battle; right? Also has Spinarak War flashbacks.

The sun was significantly brighter than Elliot recalled after so much time spent with a mere flashlight and he squinted as he stepped outside, shielding his eyes with one hand as he dropped the bag. "Ah, you're a mess," he said, grimacing once Miesha's condition was fully exposed in the sunlight. He was going to need to scrub her later and he was certain she was going to hate him for it. She seemed all too content with the situation herself, however, replying to his complaint with a happy mewl. "Mm, come here..."
By the time Erin joined him, his hands had become nearly as filthy as the Meowth's fur and she'd only improved by a few shades. At the very least though she now looked like she was white underneath the whole mess. Deciding that this was sufficient for the moment, Elliot stood to greet his surprisingly flustered companion. He smiled slightly at her persistent blush as she stumbled over her words.
"Uh. Fine, I suppose," he said, glancing down with a laugh. Miesha was working at one of her paws with her tongue and Elliot put his attention solidly back on his young companion, not wanting to put too much thought into how it must feel to taste everything one cleans off oneself. "Now what were you saying?" He gave his finest disarming smile. "Go on. You can't just start to say something and then not tell me. I'll die of curiosity."

She jumped slightly as he smiled and pressed the issue, her heart sped into a race between her thoughts. Well, no backing out of it now, right? Her fingers tangled with one another, fumbling and fumbling and fumbling. How did one form words again?
"I, um..." She looked down, her anxiety filling up her heart. "Just, earlier... Were you joking, about the... I mean, were you trying to tell me that you WERE, or..." She shook her head, finding it hard to get the actual words out in a way that sounded right. "I figure you were probably joking, but..." She swallowed hard and took a small step towards Elliot, her eyes lighting up as she urged herself to stare up at his.
Her Yanma buzzed tiredly, almost but not quite having the energy to roll his eyes. "... Are you a... trans... too?" Did she ever mention how much she hated the labels? She really did. But how else could she... well, she said it finally, so... She guessed that was that. Before he could answer, though, she managed to blurt in a final: "If you're not just pretend I didn't say anything okay!"

He wasn't quite expecting the intensity he got from the young girl's eyes and he hesitated under them for a good second before that familiar grin graced his face again. "It took you long enough. Hell, I'm flattered that you didn't notice earlier - and with my voice and everything." He laughed and his birth-gender was all too apparent to the observant, cloaked under the guise of the average feminine male. "I have to say though, I think it's a lot easier to pass as a man. As long as I look offended enough when I say I'm a guy people get really awkward and embarrassed, eh? Your mileage may vary based on neighborhood though." Ah, strangers were simple. It was the people who already knew him who were the problem.

She smiled brightly, glad to hear she hadn't just made up some ridiculous plot up in her head, although she didn't quite know what to say now that she knew the truth. Part of her wanted to ask him question upon question, but it seemed kind of rude and... imposing. There would be other times she would be able to talk to him about it... assuming they stayed in touch.
"... Thank you," she murmured abruptly, looking down and then back up, repeating it a bit louder. "Thank you so much." She didn't know why, but having just... Just, HAVING someone who understood and had gone through problems similar to hers and... it was just, just such a relief. She couldn't explain it, though, so the thank yous came up a bit abruptly and without much of a reason. She smiled up warmly at him, her hands twitching-- both now at her sides as if thinking of slipping into her pockets-- resisting the urge to hug him.
Oh, but she really did want to hug him. A small swell of emotions started up in the back of her throat but she kept them down, continuing to beam up at him without saying a single thing more.

He faltered, unsure of how he wished to respond to her sudden and insistent thanks. "Ah, no problem," he answered, managing to keep his sudden sense of awkwardness out of his voice. He glanced down and then up again, not quite sure what else there was to say. He had been very amused by the coincidence, to be sure, but he certainly hadn't been moved by it. They'd barely spoken of the topic so far; why, half of their single conversation had been about Pokemon.
"I, ah, did you want to do more digging after our Pokemon are ready?" he asked, scratching the back of his head and turning his eyes skyward. He suddenly felt very keen on a change on topic.

It was probably a good thing she didn't hug him, that would probably just make it worse. A knife could cut through the air now, and it made her shift her weight from one foot, to the other, and then back. Maybe she was more excited than she should have been. They hardly knew each other yet... maybe they would never meet again.
He did express interest in wanting to dig more, which she nodded to quietly. "Although, your Meowth is kind of a mess... and she'll only get worse, right? I hope you're ready to give the poor cat a bath." She laughed softly, trying to smile and lift the mood, although it seemed like she had created an awful atmosphere with her excitement. It was safe to say that was all but gone now, her hands tucked away in her pockets and her eyes at his chest...simply because she wouldn't stare him in the eyes now.
"Lugh, are you done resting?" The bug whirled and buzzed, huffing and curling into a circle, touching his nose to his tail as if to disagree. Miesha's ears seemed to prick up at the word "bath," her tail giving a small flick as if in distaste, but Elliot didn't quite notice these subtle gestures. "Yeah, I know," he said, smiling despite his obvious aversion to the idea. "I'm gonna have to give her one anyway though." Oh, the inhumanity of it all.
He noted the Yanma's response and glanced at his own Pokemon. She looked chipper as ever, though that wasn't terribly surprising. The Yanma had been doing all the heavy work and Miesha was a bundle of energy on any day. "We can go whenever your Pokemon is ready then," he said, glancing at the bag of shards. "Oh, but we should probably count up these ones first." He'd brought a separate bag for collection, of course, so after they'd divided the shards he could empty his into his main pack.

She sat down right on the spot, taking out a handful of shards and counting them, beginning to seperate them into neat piles. She didn't really have much to say now, a quiet little worker bee in progress.
"Plus, it'll give Lugh more time to rest," was all she murmured as she counted, one for her, one for Elliot, two for her... The Yanma seemed to approve of this idea, closing his eyes and taking a light snooze on the ground, tired from all of the nonsense and work. If they thought he was going to be able to pull of Ancient Power all day, they would be sorely mistaken.
