Alex smiled softly as he observed Alia's diplomacy in action; after the wild buizel had essentially captured itself, Alia brought the closed pokeball to Alex's kneeling form and offered it to him. "Good job-- now, it's my turn to meet our new companion," as he finished speaking, Alex released buizel from her pokeball and continued to smile at her. The water-type observed Alex's casual nature but remained cautious and inched slowly toward the safety of Alia's presence. "Well, hello there. My name's Alex-- do you have a name?" His question only elicited a quick head-shake from the rather shy creature; her response warranted a frown and caused Alex to cross his arms firmly across his chest."Well, then, we'll just give to give you one. What about... Chani?" To this name, although it was the first, buizel nodded enthusiastically. She leaned to Alia and whispered, >He picks good names.<
Alex smiled to his new poke-compatriot, "Chani it is, then. Well, Chani-- We've got a little while longer before we set off completely, why don't you and Alia go play with Nelly some more." Expecting them to do as he had suggested, Alex rose to a full stand and moved away from his pokemon, toward Faye. "Hah, barely started off and our pokemon are already making friends. Strange to think that something so cute can later end up being quite destructive, you know?"

she finished with a grin. Faye wanted a hand at this too, and refocused her attention on Nelly by the river. Meanwhile, Nelly lacked the charisma and courage to make any positive impression on the Caterpie, except for being a spooked brat. As always, after the denial stage came eye-rolling acceptance, and if this odd bug Pokemon was the shipshape spawn of the mythical Loch Ness monster (which Faye still thought he named Nelly after), so be it. If you say so... Still the fish of doubt and frustration though, the Feebas took the rare liberty to taunt the other Pokemon back. Nelly dove beneath the furiously paddling Caterpie and resurfaced before him, using his nose to meet the other Pokemon and attempt to stop the weaker swimmer's progress. At first it was a playful gesture, but Nelly's negative nature took over the encounter. Even if he wasn't pretty, at least he was a better swimmer than this bug Pokemon! With a powerful flare of his fins, the Feebas pushed harder and tried to send the Caterpie backwards. [/ul]

Even as the water kept him afloat while looking at the two trainers as he stayed away from them for the time being. Just letting his body bob up and down slowly as he suddenly felt a wave crash as he tried to swim upwards against the current. Then he bobbed up as he rode the wave like a surfer letting the tide wash him ashore and suddenly hopped back in the water. The hell? He wanted to just swim all day long, and being the son of the great loch ness monster left lots to his little imagination. Woah, that was radical dudes, we're in the Caribbean now, I think the pirates will get me soon! he exclaimed as he kept enjoying himself despite the other trainers. the Feebas would hear his trainer from the shore. Faye found the oddly swimming Caterpie to be quite endearing with its quirks. “Make friends,” she insisted, rather inspired by Alex's Sneasel's charisma to acquire a wild Pokemon herself without force. Unfortunately for the girl, introverted Nelly lacked any shade of Alia's innate magnetism. The fish Pokemon shot Faye a blank, tired stare before rolling his eyes back onto the swimming insect. What pirates? Nelly asked flatly, expression rather cross at the Caterpie. He'd heave a sigh that formed a series of wavy rings just below the water's surface. Was he supposed to play with this delusional Pokemon? Well if the Caterpie wanted to play, Nelly supposed that Faye intended for him to participate. The Feebas groaned inwardly, Nelly hated playing. Not even in the lab did he like to roughhouse with his lab-mates! Fiiiiine, I'll be a pirate, he muttered unamused. Not that Nelly was sure what pirates were or what they were supposed to do at this point. [/ul]

-------- WILD CATERPIE AND TYMPOLE!
This Feebas really was a spoilsport, feeling a bit put down when the fish responded in such a tone. At least he was able to get the Feebas to start talking and getting some interest in his game, only making the Caterpie even happier when he was convinced to play along. <Yes! You'd make such an ARRRRGCELLENT PIRATE.> He laughed in amusement at his own pirate imitation, vibrant and full of energy as he swished around the Feebas with his mediocre swimming skills. The water might've been cold and bitter after being in it for a while, but he still liked it enough.
<You can be ARRRG CAPTAIN FISHBEARD!> He deemed the Feebas the first name that came into his head, finding the ring it had quite pleasing to his ears. Then again, the Caterpie didn't have tastes that appealed to the masses, so not everyone was bound to agree with him this time. <I AM MC-SCRUFFY!> He laughed wildly at his new name, swimming eagerly ahead of the Feebas with a beaming expression. <Together, we are BACON!> He declared it so, so it must be true.
Sadly during his energetic swim, another Pokemon came along and didn't exactly like his shouting. <Hey! Hey! You! Stupid friggin' worm! Shut up!> The Tympole burst out of the water with a growl, tail wiggling back and forth as it gave him a bit of air before splashing back down with a 'smack'. The sound made the Caterpie flinch in his spot, not liking how aggressive this stranger was being at all. He wasn't going to back down from a challenge though! Never that! <You smell fishy.> McScruffy growled at the Tympole, not liking how this slimy guy was threatening them like this.

He only half bothered to ask, the other half was a self reflection of 'what in the world am I getting into?' Oh bother, the Feebas thought inwardly to himself as he darted to catch up to the Caterpie with a flutter of his fins. His expression was cringing now, and coupled with his not-so-stunning looks, perhaps Nelly did have the angled grimace of a badass dread pirate. Mc...Scruffy, he'd echo the wild Pokemon again, and then once more, ...why Bacon? (And what the hell is bacon made of in this world?) As reluctant as he was, Nelly was still a pushover for the Caterpie's gleeful expression, not having the heart... or tenacity... or assertiveness or something to drop the charade, out of character as he was. So... Mc Scruffy, what does Bacon-A harsh interruption cut off Nelly's inquisitive side, and the startled fish reflexively ducked behind Caterpie to meet the intruder. He caught site of Faye absently strolling along the bank still unaware of the Feebas's mental condition. How desperately did Nelly want to just beam back into that Pokeball! Nelly also didn't want to leave Caterpie alone with this new bully though, but what could a young Feebas do? I-I'm sure we can work something out, he spoke meekly peering from behind McScruffy still. Or maybe not, he thought to himself as what little courage he had was waning as Nelly sized up the Tympole. C'mon, he gently nudged the floating and defiant insect Pokemon, we can just play downstream. [/ul]

[STYLE=border-bottom: 5px solid #FFC7FF;] [/style] The caterpie was still trying to hide from the big bad tympole that seemed to be trying to get him to do stuff he didn't want to. After all, bullies were meant to be dealt with, but this tympole was certainly being a brute about it. Although, the caterpie's friend had certainly brought up a good point that the poor tympole couldn't answer. All that was returned was silence as the tympole had to sit there for a minute to think up a good lie to try to stop them. After all, the tympole was a bully and bullies did mean things to little kids..I mean pokemon, <Hey, I didn't say you could leave yet, I want you both to fetch me oran berries, now! Cause..uh...down the river is where they grow...I won't beat you up if you do,> he said to them. Trying to use them to get what he wanted, just like a bully would as the caterpie merely refused to nudge from his spot. <No, I will not be going anywhere you heathen, I will be staying right here,> the caterpie said in a little defiant gesture for a moment or two. Now he would be taken seriously he hoped. Now he could get some words in edgewise after realizing the little tympole was hardly a fighter, but he would gladly take this challenger on no matter the level difference. The tympole was taken back, but didn't back down yet, even having trouble thinking of something else to say, U-uh..if you don't do what I say, there will be consequences...those berries are important! he said to both of them, even as the caterpie still wasn't convinced...ready to take on the brute of a bully all of a sudden. ::caterpie:: MC-SCRUFFY? [STYLE=border-bottom: 5px solid #FFC7FF;] [/style] The swimming caterpie was not afraid of this heathen and soon he was back on the waves again enjoying the fresh scent of the water around him. Ah, what a heavenly sight and he could just roll with the waves. Suddenly he merely heard a buzzing in the distance and that was his cue to dive under water. Uh oh, master beedrill is here, duck under water, QUICK! the caterpie said, hoping to drag the fish pokemon down with him so as not to be seen, but the tympole was trying to figure out why they were hiding. HAH! So my superiority has finally gotten to you, that's right, grovel in the water for me, for I, TYMPOLE THE MIGHTY WILL BULLY YOU until I get my berries! he boasted until suddenly an ominous shadow lingered behind him. A beedrill had indeed flown into the premises, with a black bandanna on his head, and then a white make-shift karate outfit made of paper around him. The swarm master of the pesticide group had arrived, and he was here to take vengeance for innocent victims everywhere. I've been watching you for some time young tympole, I can't forgive your actions, you better change your ways, or else I will take you away forcefully! the beedrill said suddenly. [[Should I wrap this up for the world plot?]]
That could've been us! Nelly raved, not quite grasping what in the world happened. For all he knew, some crazy creature was snatching Pokemon up! so hide your kids, hide your wife Terror won over rationality as he sought safety. Half shoving the Caterpie and half swimming, Nelly made it to where the riverbend was closest to Faye's daydreaming. Faye! Faaaaye! The fish Pokemon called aimlessly, desperate to get in the Pokeball since it didn't look like any predator was able to carry off a human. I- we gotta hide! I can't leave you here to dieeeee, the Feebas wailed as his trainer slowly approached. “Whassat, Nell? You made a friend?” she asked, Nelly nearly foaming at the mouth in panic as the girl oh-so-slowly sat down along the bang. Oh Jesus have mercy FAYE I NEED THE POKEBALL. Faye cocked her head to the side and the Feebas took it as his duty to flop halfway onto the shore and dig through the girl's pack with his snout until a pair of pokeballs rolled out, along with other contents. His eyes fixated on Mc Scruffy wildly as he continued, WE GOTTA HIDE. There's no telling when he'll be back! The Feebas made no attempts to discern whether 'he' meant the Beedrill or the Tympole as he beamed back into the safety of the ball. [/ul]

[STYLE=border-bottom: 5px solid #FFC7FF;] [/style] The caterpie wasn't worried at all as he floated on his back watching the feebas freak out, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle...yeeeah! the caterpie said as he noticed the feebas running off like that, but he was just content floating along the stream. There was no worry in the world for him, but he suddenly dived under the water again until the water pressure was too great. Causing him to float back up towards the surface at a rather fast speed as he wiggled his body to make a huge dive into the air, and he did a few somersaults too at the same time. It was odd seeing a rather acrobatic caterpie do this in general, however, it definitely wouldn't be the first time this would happen at all. Why so freaked out maaan? This is the greatest feeling in the world.. I'm flllyyying, like a bird, yes that's what I am...A BIRD!? No, that's not right..I need wings...maybe I could make wings! he said towards the feebas even as he was running away. The caterpie was braver than the feebas and wasn't going to follow him into the pokeball as the caterpie suddenly landed on the ground near the girl. So, this was a great day to just wait it out finally, but there was more than just the casual Pokémon here. Mc-scruffy was definitely not going to give up at all, and there was no way he was going to hide either. The caterpie was braver than that, but now he had no one to play with. The caterpie looked like he was losing interest a little as he landed on the sand and decided to jump back into the water again. ::caterpie:: MC-SCRUFFY? Faye started hesitantly. Where did this Pokemon come from? Her murky recollections pointed her to her most recent trip to the pub for the event, which afterwards she awoke with what she thought was Nelly's pokeball clutched in her hand. Perhaps... it had something else in it after all. The tiny bird Pokemon's eyes were screwed shut as if unaccustomed to the sunlight before it slowly, slowly peered around at its surroundings. Before it even had a chance to completely register the situation, the Natu felt hands nudging her rump, sending her tipping and staggering forwards. “Go play!” She did what she was told, approaching her query cautiously as her feet clung onto the edge of the shore and peered over into the water. Hi there! The Natu beamed while steadily staring at the imaginative Caterpie. ::Natu:: Pippa [Pipp] Species: Natu, the Tiny Bird Pokémon Gender: Female Level: 5 Type: Psychic/Flying Ability: Synchronize|Early Bird Attacks: Peck|Leer|Haze Met: St. Patrick's Day Promo Hold Item: - Personality: Pippa is incredibly cautious, and often hops away to safety at the slightest movement in the bushes. the Natu never got chance to finish as she hopped towards the Caterpie in some sort of friendly prance, only to get the wind knocked out of her! Oof! was all she could chirp as she tumbled backwards around her own round figure, finally stopping as she hit Faye's shoes. The girl gently picked the bird up and set her on her feet again, a little stunned herself that the Caterpie could play so rough, especially around girls! Pippa, on the other hand, had a different reaction to what she determined was an angry assault. Hopping rapidly in anger, the Natu chased after the Caterpie with short wings all aflutter. Why you little, she muttered, not that she was any bigger than the insect Pokemon. With an exaggerated glare, Pippa took a final hop into the air to glide the short distance across the river to deliver an angry jab at the Caterpie before alighting on the opposite side. ::Natu:: Pippa [Pipp] Species: Natu, the Tiny Bird Pokémon Gender: Female Level: 5 Type: Psychic/Flying Ability: Synchronize|Early Bird Attacks: Peck|Leer|Haze Met: St. Patrick's Day Promo Hold Item: - Personality: Pippa is incredibly cautious, and often hops away to safety at the slightest movement in the bushes. but that was because he was making up a string shot. the foamy string was dangling from his mouth before he shot it towards the green natu. he snickered, then backed up. he tapped the ground with his insect feet, then sprang forwards at the natu. a tackle. and if dodged, would land mc-scruffy into the water.

The caterpie gave a small squeel when he saw that the birdy wanted to keep on playing with him in this good game of catch! Even though it was quite rough, he was enjoying it a lot. He was entrapped by the leer that the natu gave towards him, making him sway almost as he if he was hypnotised by it; he was snapped out of this dream when he was struck by the super powerful peck, causing him to shriek in pain. "Hey, that wasn't fair at all on me, you big bully! That really really hurt!" He shouted out as he runned his body with his tiny feet glaring at the natu. Taking in a deep breath, he jumped at the bird pokemon with all his might, trying to mid-air tackle it to the ground; it was a funny sight really, seeing a bug pokemon soaring in the air like it was no tomorrow. xD

Faye tried to verbally intervene, but the small bird Pokémon only slid her gaze onto the trainer for a moment before glaring back at the Caterpie. You started it! she chirped after the other green Pokémon. Her feet were busy scraping away more of the sticky webs that covered her body, but stopped as the Caterpie readied another charge. This ends here! The Natu cried shrilly as she too took to the air, leaping in an arc to strike the Caterpie. Would their modes of attack be a little more elegant, they would make great ninja battle scenes! Pippa hit the ground rolling over herself again and dizzily found her feet. She stared off emptily at the scenery, not bothering [or too caught up in the moment!] to see what happened to the Caterpie.

Pippa cooed in agreement, rather thrilled at herself for doing so well in her first battle. She felt incredible! Though maybe her body did ache a little, Faye already brushed off the rest of the silky substance the Caterpie spat out. Breaking away from the girl's hold, the Natu hopped down towards the bag on the ground. She'd roll out an empty Pokeball and urge Faye to take it, ultimately asking for the the girl to capture the Caterpie, perhaps as a playmate for Pippa the dreamer, and to loosen up Nelly's no-fun attitude. "Alright, here goes," she picked up the Pokeball and tossed it at the fainted Pokémon. Still leaning over the scattered pile of Pokeballs, Pippa nudged close to one of them.
