She had done it, really done it. A Pokemon - and it was all her's! But now, what was she supposed to do? After collecting her starter Darya had been a bit muddled; the Heracross was lodged inside of it's pokeball and everything was right-as-rain, except... She didn't know what to do next. Possibilities flitted through her mind like hungry little beedrill, yet the newly instated trainer could not choose her next move. Darya first thought of returning home, and the image of her mother's subsequent meltdown made a smile crease her face. She rolled the pokeball around in her fingers while she mused, walked, and plotted. A second option (and perhaps more viable) was to simply leave. To get a move on, and start her adventure. Surely her mother had called for help - the prestigious curator that was her father, would no doubt find time to visit home and assess the situation. Or not. The man was perpetually busy - the mere thought of him, returning or otherwise, soured the fifteen-year-old's mood. The blossom of her pleasure quickly withered; however, thinking of these things helped to solidify her decision.
Darya Lanford would leave the lab and head down the path to her future.
The path itself led away from the Lab, logically, but also out of the town entirely; the unpaved road quickly coated her shoes in dust, but the girl was enthusiastic for adventure, so it did not matter. Besides, she could go get more shoes later - but wait. Darya pauses in her motion, freezing with a sudden realization. If she doesn't return home, how will she get any money? How could she afford shoes? Mother would surely refused to fund this adventure. Just like that, the plan was destroyed - she couldn't go farther without a certain level of trepidation and cunning, both things that Darya felt she lacked. The realization left her disheartened, but with her gaze cast upon the pokeball in her hand (gripped fiercely in her fist) another thought penetrated that bubble of consciousness: she didn't care. Somehow the girl would find the money, but right now, she had to travel. She had to get to the next town.
Without further ado (but with a heaviness to her entire living self), Darya began the trek along the Premiere Route, hoping that things would get easier. She wasn't used to this uncertainty, and it left her feeling sour.

[STYLE=border-bottom: 5px solid #FFC7FF;] [/style] The sunny breeze carried throughout the quite route would welcome the trainer as the beautiful glades of the grass seemed to just stand still in their upholstery of everlasting beauty. Well, until it grew too long, but even then, no many people were around to attend to the areas around the route. The grass and trees seemed to be cut to perfection either way so that trainers wouldn't run into anything weird. Even so, you still had to travel through tall grass to get past certain pokemon. Or just using cut to get rid of the grass in general worked too, but what worked even better were max repels. Quite useful to keeping those pesky pokemon off you at times, however, today was slightly different. There was no pokemon repellant as a whooshing noise could be heard from a nearby hill, and it could be implicated that a buizel was having immense fun. Using a mudhill as a slip and slide into the water at the base of it so that she could easily clean herself when she came up for air. Not changing her strategy at all and just kept going for it. Sliding up the hill too and getting her belly covered in mud as she was quite the specimen to behold most likely. Not everyone could be picky about what they got, however, she continued to ignore the trainer's presence to continue using the same mudslide. Splashing as hard as she could into the water to make it blow up all around them. Trespassers! was all that was said as she pointed at them suspiciously. ::buizel:: buizel (5) female swift swim growl - sonic boom - water sport - quick attack naive - dependable - like to slide everywhere

Perhaps she should have grabbed a map on her way out the door? Her mother didn't have maps of the town though, or of Cheyenne, so the very thought was stupid and silly; although, Darya suddenly remembered the bag of items she had received at the Lab. The girl paused to rummage through it, dropping her pokeball in to it's fabric-y depths in the process. Oh well. When she finally found the map, it was slightly creased from all of the motion but it would still work. As she began to draw it out of the bag, a sound caught her attention - and a splash. Somehow she had become oblivious to the world around her, so eager to grab her map - and so when the mud rose up like a wave and splashed her shoes, her pant legs, the bottom of her blouse - well. Darya was not too pleased. She forgot about the map for the time being, letting it fall back in to the bag while she looked around, incredulous.
"Trespassers!"
The voice squealed, although Darya only heard a strange animal sound; she didn't speak Pokemon after all. "What a stupid little rat!" She fumed, speaking as if the creature was too stupid to understand her. Her arms flailed about as she examined the ruined clothes, before sighing and attempting to remove the mud by hand. Usually the girl was not interested in her looks, but this was different. All she had were the clothes on her back, and now they were disgusting. The mud caked against her palms, but Darya managed to scrape off a considerable amount of the messy substance; tossing it back over towards the buizel with a grumpy look on her face. She sighed a second time as she looked over her muddy hands, wishing they were cleaner - so she bent down and brushed her palms against the grass, working the dirt away. It didn't take much effort, as the grass itself was slightly damp - probably from whatever had made the mudslide. As Darya stood up, she crossed her arms in front of her chest and glared down at the buizel. Information popped in to her head as she reviewed the creature, and she recognized it: it was a water-type, usually a playful otter thing that spent a lot of time in the sea. So what was it doing here (aside from destroying her perfectly good clothes)? [/blockquote]

::buizel:: buizel (5) female swift swim growl - sonic boom - water sport - quick attack naive - dependable - like to slide everywhere Stupid Rat?!?!?! How dare the trainer say that she was the stupid rat; in fact the woman was the one that needed to be told off, as she could cleary see that this was her area in which she was sliding in. Besides that, the trainer surely must of seen her sliding down the hill in enjoyment. "Me? The stupid rat? Well trainer, I think you must be wrong as in fact I think your the stupid one!" The water type yelled as she waved a fist at the trainer, hoping to scare her off so that she could go back to sliding down her hill. "Your trespassing in my sacred sliding area, so if you don't leave now, I'll have to make you leave by force!" The Buizel shouted before crossing her arms, waiting for the trainer to agree to her demands and leave the area immediately.

More chattering from the Pokemon, and then the brandished fist, made Darya take a step back. She frowned down at the little creature, and then shoved her hand in to her bag. "Oh you want to fight me? Fine, we'll fight." When her hand reappeared, it held the pokeball containing her starter. "I dunno if you can hear me in there, Heracross," She mumbled at it, "But there's a little twerp out here who is threatening me, your trainer. So please help me." With that said, she dropped the ball - and in a flash of light, her gargantuan beetle was standing besides her, arms crossed in a similar fashion to the way Darya had been standing before. "Oh," She peeped, still not used to the size of the bug. "He's, um, down there." With a flail of her hand, Darya motioned towards the little pokemon and took a step back, removing herself from the vicinity of the mud.
The heracross swept it's gaze over to the buizel, and then seemed to grunt. Nothing happened.
Darya's surprised look turned in to one of irritation, and she stepped up to the heracross. "Now look here, mister." The heracross didn't even bat an eye. He was a strong and capable bug, and had raised itself to this point; why would it need the help of a puny human? However, such thoughts were internal - it did not bother speaking to the teenager who thought it was his master. However, he couldn't evade the sound of her voice. "You were given to me for a reason. I am your trainer now, you are my starter, my Pokemon. You are supposed to listen to me." Darya jabbed at it's chest with one finger, and in one swift movement, the heracross lowered it's arms, but still regarded the girl with a skeptic, uninterested gaze. She moved out of the way almost as fast, thinking that those thick arms were coming for her. "Look, this pokemon here wants to fight." At the mention of the buizel, the heracross glanced back over to it - but seemed just as bored.
"Too little." He scoffed, and to Darya's surprise, she understood it.
"Did you just-" She started, and the heracross shot her a venomous look. "Yes, I can talk, and you can understand me; how dense are you?" He huffed, and Darya seemed to huff as well - in irritation, after being insulted.
It seemed like this was going nowhere.

Her starter was a jerk! That, and he wasn't going to do anything she asked. Her voice had gone silent, and Darya only watched her heracross - a vein pulsing at her temple, showing off how irritated she was. The heracross didn't seem to notice, or care. However, when the smaller Pokémon began to speak again - pointing out the fact that Darya, sadly, could not control her giant bug - she turned her gaze upon it. She did not say anything, only glared with the full force of her emotion; eyes narrowing while her arms seemed to tense against her midsection. What happened next surprised her - the heracross, despite thinking the other Pokémon was too small, too insignificant, too whatever, suddenly turned and directed a swinging arm towards it.
The slash was fast, and it was aimed at the Buizel's face.
Darya watched - incredulous - as her heracross tried to strike the otter thing. "What are you-" she began, staring and blinking at the scene while her starter, snorting to himself, loomed over the Buizel. She fell in to silence again, cutting herself off as she was suddenly tongue-tied; but the heracross spoke up a moment later. "Little thing was too loud," He stated, letting out another obnoxious snort (it sounded more like he was congested, gross). "Little thing easy to break." With that, the bug too went silent. Darya was left glancing from the heracross to the Buizel, wondering if the Pokémon was alright.

She had threatened the pokemon and threatened to get violent, so it should be no surprise if the pokemon did not back down and instead took her on in her challenge. Yet, she was still shocked when the Night Slash came for her face and slashed her good. >OUCH! That was so uncalled for!< She said after, feeling her face bleed a bit from the intense damage that the move made.
It took a good chunk of her health away, mainly because she did not have much to begin with. But she had her counter, a move that would likely take the same amount, if not more from her opponent. She created a very speedy spring and threw it at the Heracross, hoping to slash his horn in the process or just do some serious damage to it.
>You asked for this! Now you get it!< She said.

<b><i>"OUCH,"</b></i> Shouted the Pokemon, which was perhaps the only thing it had said up to this point, that Darya could understand. The sound of it's pain was punctuated by squeaks, and the girl just couldn't stop staring at it's face - where there appeared to be some damage done. It surprised her first and foremost that this Heracross was so abrupt in it's movements; she would have expected his bulky self to be slower, yet he was not. Secondly, Darya was stunned at the sheer power that it exhibited with that single hit. Granted, the fifteen year old was new to being a trainer, new to Pokemon fights, and did not realize the difference between the two Pokemon in front of her. She saw her starter, this hulking mass of beetle flesh, and a weird red otter - both just stupid animals, both needing to be shown that humans (or at least, specifically Darya) were better than them. Except in that brief moment of action, her Heracross became a powerful machine, and the prospect of power and victory made her excited. Far too excited, really.
"That was amazing!" She chimed, although the Heracross did not seem too enthusiastic about this pronouncement. He already knew he was amazing, thank-you-very-much. It was brilliant to hear that, coming from this pipsqueak of a girl, but the beastly beetle still did not have much respect for his trainer.
And then, well, the Buizel was reacting. It was oblivious to the feelings of superiority within Darya, and was focusing more upon the battle that was sort-of happening. "You asked for this!"
Squealed the Buizel, as it began to cultivate energy; "Now you get it!" With a flail, the Buizel sent foth a wave of odd curling force; Darya didn't see it very well, but the Heracross did - it hit him across the horn, dissipating through the air afterwards, the way that air currents move across a airplane's wing. It still hurt, sending a vibration down the stalk of his horn and in to his head, but he was lucky. The hit wasn't too substantial. There was a moment of silence after the hit landed, but all the Heracross did was stare in to space - and then, with another brutish snort, it turned it's head and eyes to look at it's target. What came next was, perhaps, a random attack. Instead of attempting to use another slash, the Heracross leered at it's enemy, and then slammed it's horn down against the Earth, aiming for the quick water-type. He'd show Darya just how amazing he really was. Heracross was hit by Sonic Boom ! Heracross used Leer ; Heracross used Horn Attack !

< that was.. that was.. that was cheap! > she stuttered furiously, picking herself back up and spitting savagely in the heracross' direction. her teeth bared too, not that they were that sharp. but she just hoped she took on a more menacing face, seeing as air hissed through her teeth and a snarl erupted from her throat. then she was moving, faster than she even thought at first. the quick attack in full motion, the buizel tore across the grass in an attempt to slam into the heracross. served him right!

There was very little time between attack and counterattack; which meant that Darya had little time to assess the situation. If only her Heracross would slow down! The echoing pitch of the ealier Sonic Boom was still settling within her ears, and then her starter dented the Earth with his head - how could he do that without hurting himself? Her hands went from her ears to her head, and the girl ducked, taking a few steps away from the Heracross. The girl bent down and hunkered there, amid the reeds and the grass, waiting for the battle to end. If this was how life as a trainer worked, if she would have to be scared out of her mind by sounds and the trembling of the ground, her very starter - then it wasn't the life for her. But she couldn't give back the Heracross now. All she could do was wait, and let things play out.
The Heracross, meanwhile, was raising his horned face from the ground. Dirt fell in scattered clumps around him, and he grunted lowly while looking for his target. The otter had been damaged, but it was still moving - meaning that the battle wasn't over yet. As his gleaming eyes caught the Pokemon's figure, the Heracross noticed the bared teeth - not hearing the growl so much as seeing the agitation upon his opponent's face. It was like the giant bug gave out a sigh, and with that breath, he felt himself grow slightly weaker. The Buizel was not scaring him - he was big, shiny, protected by a superior exoskeleton of enameled shell - but the growl was effective enough. He didn't think to move, or to do anything really; that was when the Buizel charged at him. Using speed that he had overlooked, the otter shot towards him in a flash of red. All he could do was buckle low, ironically with the same style as his trainer, and endure the hit. As soon as the Buizel's attack landed, the Heracross' right arm slammed towards it; trying to cut it a second time with a diabolical night slash, that would hopefully end this fight for good.

The little creature growled at her starter, and the sound roused Darya from her arms-over-head hunch. She shot a look towards the Buizel, but then her attention snapped back to the Heracross; he seemed to be surviving this odd turn of evens quite well. There was an apprehension to the new trainer, something not shared between her and the Pokemon - in fact, the Heracross looked downright diabolical, as he was hit with the sonic boom. The strike thwacked against his chest and made him take one dragging step backwards, but it did not deter him. If anything, the Heracross grew angrier. While Darya watched in stupefied silence, confused beyond measure about her role during all of this fast-moving chaos, Heracross focused upon his opponent. The hit had forced him back, true - it had also made him buckle low, slamming knees in to the Earth and aligning his head with the scurrying Buizel. He glared wholeheartedly, his leering gaze filled with a dark hunger - he wanted to win, he wanted to rend this little pipsqueak apart. Most of all, he wanted to show his new trainer (who he, deep down, really did not respect) that he was the greatest thing since sliced bread. In his own mind, he was.
There was but a breath of time between Heracross' agitated leer, and the next action. He was already hunched down against the ground, giving him ample leverage with his legs - he suddenly sprang in to motion, barreling towards the Buizel and swinging that great horn atop his head. He attempted to hit the little Pokemon with the protrusion, but at the last moment he turned his head - attempting to scoop the opponent up in to the air, discombobulate it, with hopes that the landing would not be too pretty. The Heracross finally stopped moving a few steps after that, slamming his feet and clawed hands down in to the dirt in order to steady himself; he was like a great big bull, with a carapace. Darya watched this occur and couldn't help but let her jaw hang open - which, of course, further inflated the Heracross' substantial ego. It had been a brilliant display, and now the battle was coming to a close.
