The veins in his fist were pulsating as he was beginning to lose his cool. His strongest Pokemon was being made a fool of, tripped and tossed about by the rampaging monster. First it was Ral and now Grad too - this was just unforeseen, one creature took down his starter and was now chipping away at his prime dragon.
The head of the trainer began to throb as he tried to think of a strategy, for all of them had failed him so far. His whole idea was to bring this dino's defense down, which he accomplished. The young man went into his pocket and reached for an item, he usually used after the capture. His PokeDex. Oh the age on this guy, as he held the machinery he reminisced about younger days as a trainer - no cares, just filling this up for fun. Now, he was severely in debt and here with a higher purpose.
"Failure is not an option." He quietly spoke. He was calming as he read the entry of Rampardos. Insane attack, low defense and speed. I need one good hit, but Grad's speed was gone and this creature was angry. As he thought he closed the Dex, with a smirk. "Grad today, you be a Spartan! Fight to the end!" The trainer exclaimed as he signed for Grad to use Leer and tap into his inner Rage!
The dragon rolled and shot a final glare, before his eyes became bloody red. The dragonic spirit led the shelled-dragon rushing the Rampardos is a rage. Covered in red, he was attack with his last resorts no more correspondence just undying offense. It was crazy, nonstrategic, and unorthodox - just like Rampardos.

The Rampardos was really making an effort to stick around in the match, but after enduring another leer and being faced with a raging dragon much like herself, she was getting worn out. As if she spent an entire day babysitting a bunch of rambunctious Cranidos, and it was exhausting. Her wounds were becoming obvious and she was looking more than weary, but she was determined to make a few good final moves. The Shelgon was tough but she was extremely stubborn, and she'd even knock herself out if she had to.
The sun was starting to shine brightly overhead as clouds fled away from the warmth. She didn't bother to admire the sight, especially when she was too wrapped up in the heat of the moment. She snorted defiantly and started to kick at the ground, staring at this feisty dragon. She had no plan, and she never needed one in the first place. It was always fight fight fight with her, and it would be difficult to teach her otherwise. She finally let out a loud cry, charging straight back at the Shelgon in retaliation.
She lowered her head with another Take Down to try and take the creature down, otherwise she'd be the one to go down. The battle had been long and she had done everything in her power to stick around, but it was looking tough to last longer now. Finish it.

Nick's hands fell to his side helplessly as he watched the remainder of this battle. It was unreal for him, going through his life with Team Death quite untouchable. Here and now he was being thrawted with words and in battle by a wild Rampardos. His eyes closed remembering Kyokudo, who is imprisoned thanks to his wishes to come here. If he did not return with a valuable Pokemon, surely Blaze would torture and keep his Gabite locked away.
Ral had fallen, and Grad was on the brink. The Take Down threw the enraged shelled dragon back as he began to pant. His eyes were still burning with rage, from the trance, but he was falling apart. Nick wanted to recall the beast, but his Shelgon was already running forward preparing to charge at the Rampardos again. He began to think, since his remaining Pokemon were weaker than his Shelgon how would he triumph.
It's retarded to use my entire team on this guy. If anything happens, then I will be left hopeless on this island. Nick thought as he was trying to create a plan. Hopefully this Rampardos was tiring, Grad could not take another Take Down like that.

Oh the agony! The Rampardos stumbled from that final rage attack, weak in the knees and hips. The rage teared at her body that was simply ready for that final attack, and she fell onto the ground with tired pants. She had exhausted herself in that fight, and she struggled to push herself off of the ground.
She was in no fighting condition to handle any more attacks, but she wasn't unconscious. She was simply half on the ground, attempting to get up before stumbling back down from the pain. She looked rather harmless, despite her tired anger at the situation.

ooc - there is a chai god lmao *tears of joy*
The young trainer looked with joy as his hopelessness turned into a ray of triumph. His Shelgon fell to the grounds of the island with exhaustion as Nick rushed over to his fall comrade. He would take this time to, first, capture his prey. Withdrawing a luxury ball the trainer would launch the orb at the fainted target - awaiting this grand capture. The battle was long and hard, but he and his team had made it.
While he waited for the capture he would take time to heal his team. It was unrealistic for him to travel with his two strongest battlers wounded and exhausted. Using a Revive, he would revitalize his Monferno, followed by using 3 Super Potions. One on Ral and the other two and his barely hanging Shelgon.

Normally a Luxury Ball wouldn't be strong enough to capture such a Pokemon, but Nick had luck on his side. The ball only shook twice before capturing the beast, a very impressive capture on this expensive island. What else could be around here, and would it be nearly as dangerous? As the grass began to mix in with the sand, another Pokémon started to walk within Nick's vision.
The Sunflora looked as if he could've belonged in the background, but something was different about him. He paced back and forth, as if he was trouble about something. He finally shook his giant flower of a head and leaves in frustration and started to cry out. <Oh woe! I can't solve this stupid riddle!> He cried, waving a piece of paper in his hands out of frustration.
Ten candles stand burning in a dining room. A strong breeze blows in through an open window and extinguishes two of them. Checking back in on the candles later, you see that one more candle has gone out, you shut the window. Assuming the wind doesn't extinguish any more candles, how many candles do you have left in the end?
[/BLOCKQUOTE] That was basically what it said, and whenever he gave guesses to his friend, the one that made the riddle, he'd always get it wrong. It was so frustrating and it didn't help that he felt stupid about it. Maybe someone could help him out. Or maybe he'd learn not to cry out so loudly. [/font]

The Sunflora pacing caught Nick's attention as he turned his head to face the walking sunflower. His eyes jolted wide as he seemingly understood the Sunflora needed help and what it was saying. This shocked the trainer, he had never been in tune to understanding this PokeTalk, but now he was picking up on it how odd.
I hope I am not getting in touch with my feelings. Or these little Pokemon. The trainer thought. He had a very calm, confident, and sorta nonchalant approach to battling and raising his Pokemon. He wasn't the most nurturing of men. For his team, he shared special and great relationships with them all. Not a were buddy pals, but moreso a sports team like comradery.
Regardless he would approach and would lean in to get the paper. "I can help." The man said as he began to read.

Hm. Ten Candles, two go out. Then one more. That makes seven. But riddles are never this damn cut and dry. Maybe it's 10! Trick question, no! The trainer then reread the riddle. Over and over and over and over again. A couple minutes elapsed until the serious natured man arose with an answer! "Tres! Three!" He said handing the Sunflora the paper. "I mean he never re-lit the extinguished candles, the others would melt completely in the end." Nick chuckled, something he hadn't did joyously in a while. He really was starting to remember his years before Team Death, but saving the daydreams for later he would like to ask the Sunflora a few things.
Nick answered with THREE!

<T-Three?> The Sunflora was more than glad when the man was willing to take on the problem, but when he said that number he was more than surprised. How did he come up with that one? He thought about it for a second, trying to make sense of it all, when a jolly cry emerged from the bushes. His playful bird friend must've heard it all, and she seemed to enjoy the look on his face when the human solved it so quickly.
<That's right, gosh. You're amazing.> The Pidgeotto beamed at the trainer, feeling a bit more giddy today because she woke up bright and early. Normally she slept in all lazy like, but she felt amazing now that she was waking up earlier. The Sunflora face palmed, finally understanding why the answer was three. That wasn't even fair at all.
<I have another riddle, and if you can answer this one you win a prize. If not, you have to battle us.> She made that up on the spot, yes, but she adored teasing her humble Sunflora friend. He gulped at the thought of a battle, and just hoped Nick could get this one right. The bird held out another scrap of paper that looked as if it came out of a book, and though she couldn't read, she knew which one it was just because the Sunflora could read them.
This one said:
Five suspects are called into police headquarters for questioning. They give the following statements. A: "One of the five of us is lying." B: "Two of the five of us are lying." C: "I know these guys, and three of the five of us are lying." D: "Don't listen to a word they say. Out of the five of us, four of us are lying." E: "All five if us are dirty rotten liars!" Nick face went blank once more as he pieced together what the Pidgeotto was saying. He was really starting to understand this language, it was odd for him. Perhaps his affinity with his teammates was applicable to all Pokemon at this stage in his life. But now the problem at hand was another riddle.
Nick was quite done with battling, he wanted to seek some rare and legendary Pokemon, hopefully he could scurry some clues to find them through these two interesting Pokemon. He rubbed his ivory crown as he began to think.
One says one, the second says two, the thirds says three, the fourth says four, the fifth says them all. Nick was puzzled with this one. I guess all of them are lying, so technically they are all telling the truth about lying. But they are suspects and they all liars, but some are telling on themselves. I mean... The trainer began to think, and think, and think. If I was a suspect, and my friends were lying, I would be telling on them and not on myself. Number 4 and 5 are telling the truth technically. So the answer is two!
"The police should let go Tw--" Nick began, before stopping. Wait, the fifth one said all five are liars. Meaning he is guilty, so they gotta keep him regardless. So it gotta be number 4, since he not telling on himself and telling the truth about the others being liars. "The police should let go only one, the D guy."
Nick answered with ONE!

The Sunflora and Pidgeotto looked at the trainer curiously as he attempted to solve this one riddle. He was thinking it pretty thoroughly from what they could tell, and it even looked as if he was coming to a solution. They leaned closer to the trainer with intense eyes the more Nick looked certain of the answer. The second the guy started to say 'two' the Pidgeotto pointed a teasing wing at him and began to speak, but at the last second he changed it to the right answer.
She put her wing down and frowned, clearly disappointed that he was playing these kinds of games with her. The Sunflora happened to know this answer and clapped his leaves together gently, nodding in agreement. <I know that's right, you win. But uh, what does he win?> He asked his friend, looking curiously and hoping she wasn't going to tease him or something. The bird sighed and held out some Black Sunglasses; just something she picked up on the beach. They looked cool, but ah well! Fun while it lasted!

With the pair gone, sadly it wasn't quiet anymore. The sounds of water being splashed around was very easy to hear in the distance. Very loudly, even. Their cries were loud and violent, as if others were getting hurt in the process. That was very ear catching, and probably hid the sounds of a small creature climbing up a coconut tree.

[/div] Nick was quite unmoved by the shades handed to him from the riddling duo. He simply looked at them with odd eyes and placed them into his bag. As he prepared to ask them about the inhabitants of this island he heard a loud, creeping violent noise. He stood and turned. As he fixed his eyes back, the two were gone. With them gone, he expected this noise was his next calling. The noise was thunderous, but he would pursue. He was still quite cautious of this island considering his near defeat in his encounter with Rampardos. The Team Death operative was still bounded here by orders of his contractor, not the mention the imprisonment of his Gabite. Hopefully these crashing noises will lead him to some more rarity or connect him with some wayfarers of the island. Nick is investigating the loud noises! The sea was now filled with red, presumably blood as there was only one Pokémon remaining as it circled the waters, looking for new targets, and new meat to eat. The shark quickly spotted the trainer when he got near the waters and quickly decided to swim close to him. This Sharpedo wasn't ready to get out of the water yet as it was his natural environment and it usually gave him a great advantage against his targets. But he could tell this trainer wasn't a ditz so he probably knew that also. The Sharpedo quickly began circling some more before he quickly jumped up and released a loud and pulsating noise at Nick. [/div] "Damn!" Nick yelled as the annoying screech rattled his mind. He cracked his eyes open as his hands jolted to cover his ears. He noticed the waves were coming from a shark in the waters. Using his right hand he would use his PokeDex, identifying the creature as Sharpedo. His hand reached in for Cero's PokeBall, realizing the Scizor would have a type advantage. However, this was a physical creature and one in the water. He threw his PokeBall forward and relased his Dratini. The small lake dragon looked at the threatening beast with fear. The little fella was naive, young minded and quite shaken by big threats. However, Dew noticed his trainer was beginning his orders and formation. The trainer would clap his hands and whirl his fist in a circle. "Get him on land!" Nick called, giving an odd, rare verbal order. Dew immediately began to work charging forth to release a blue beam of electricity. Hopefully the thunderwave would spark through the beast causing paralysis. If attempted to dodge, hopefully the waters would carry the effect and capture the Sharpedo. After the electric current was released Dew would lean back, releasing a massive Twister. The Sharpedo noticed the Dratini's thunder wave and what could he do? He wasn't going to back down from his advantageous spot so easily when that Dratini could shock him even more on land. With a grunt he endured it and the twisters that followed, finding himself not too injured this turn. He paced back and forth with a calculating stare, considering his options.
He was unfamiliar with dealing with dragon types, but Ice Fang happened to be one of his strongest attacks. The best was when a confused Pokemon hit itself and he used Assurance in addition to that. It was a perfect strategy if he managed to make it work.
He laughed mockingly at the Dratini and started to splash some painless but cold waves at the dragon. His swagger was sure to rile the creature up if it hit, though the chance of harming itself in confusion was random.

There was nothing Nick could do, or really wanted to do. His Dratini would have to fight through this alone and grow into a stronger battler. The Dragon rose and his eyes began to glow blue as he tried to spark up another Twister. Unfortunately he ended up slamming himself upon a layer of rocks and sand on island. Hurt he was, as he, very shakingly, rose back up. Nick could only watch, as the shark preyed on his dragon. Hopefully Dew would snap out, if not he was probably in for some pain. Seeing the Dratini attack itself in confusion, the Sharpedo's eyes opened up wide as he realized that now was the time to strike. He burst out of the water at high speeds, looking like a mad torpedo as he locked onto the little dragon. He showed no fear at all; just brutality as he opened his mouth into a small smile. Those sharp teeth were all over the place, but he didn't choose to use any biting moves this time.
Oh no, he was brimming with a dark type energy that seemed to follow his form like flames. They flickered in a frenzy as he started to dive bomb the Dratini, taking advantage of the fact that it had a hard time attacking.
The only thing that would've been a problem was that he was trapped out of the water after using the move, and he wasn't as capable fighting on land. If the Dratini had some kind of move to get him, and hopefully didn't hurt itself in its confusion, now would be the time to use it.

[/div] The charging shark tank was charging straight for Dew. Dazed the tiny dragon did not choose to move. Nick would watch, but unfortunately the connection of the attack left a huge storm of dust on the battle floor. Pounded deep into the sands was the poor little Dratini, how severely weakened. Dew blinked as he realized his body was quite weaker than before as his vision was all back in focus. His eyes grew large as he noticed the Sharpedo was in such close quarters. His eyes rotated back to look towards Nick, but he dusty foliage blocked his eyesight. The Dratini slithered into the air rapidly, using Agility to double his travel. Noticing the shark was on land, Dew would begin to think. Perhaps, this battle was giving him the experience Nick hoped it would. The Sharpedo would be an easier target on this earth opposed to in the water. Wanting to push him further down, Dew would generate a green orb of energy. The Sharpedo was attempting to get back into the waters but there was one little problem-- paralysis. He was locked in place in a half struggle back into the ocean in his attempt to make another sneak attack on the Dratini. The sand being so hot against his softer underbelly was not helping him in the slightest either, and he really wished to get back into the comforts of the water. It was his haven, and he battled like such a natural in it when other Pokemon lacked the necessary skills to chase after him.
The Sharpedo was a bit bewildered at the combination of Agility and Dragon Rage, getting blasted right out of his spot and landing further away from his destination. He cringed in his spot, fighting off the paralysis to the best of his ability. It was such a pest, and that confusion breaking out so easily also didn't help. His skin was mixed with the grains of wet and dry sand, giving him a dirty coloration with his patches of blue striking out.
He growled out in warning to the Dratini, a bit bewildered from the shock of the dragon rage but not willing to back down. He still had plenty of fight left in him, and this punk dragon wasn't going to get an easy win without losing some health. At least, that was what he thought. He had yet to think of a strategy however.

[/div] In a Pokémon Battle there was usually a balance of calculated chances and risks. The experienced operative was one who like to increase his chances and ensure success. That's why he doesn't play with his prey, he goes in for the kill. The paralyzed shark was nothing but bait. With a heightened attack, Nick was ready to have Dew take this risk. Placing his left palm forward openly, he would smack his right hand atop. The crackling noise symbolic to a move the Dratini didn't use a lot. Dew was use to being a ranged fighter, but now he was going in close quarters. Spinning the dragon charged for the sly crater the Sharpedo was in. The mucky skin and roughness created area of doubt, but this was something Dew had to do. He gulped as he would trust in his trainer. Once more he spun and his would use his tail and apply all his force as he used Slam. Dew's eyes shot open the skin of the Sharpedo, rugged and piercing his own. Dodging the slam that he saw coming would simply be amazing for the little shark, but it was something he didn't think he was capable of while on the sand. He at the very least used his tail to propel himself up off the sand to switch positions, now facing the Dratini instead of away from it. The slam hit him against his side, and admittedly the Swagger he used was not helping him at all. Most Pokemon didn't snap out of confusion that fast, but he could always try again.
<You'll never amount to something, twerp.> He said brutally, flopping on the sand like a vicious wild animal as his swagger started to take effect. This wasn't the worst of it though, because this time he was going in for what strike he could.
He charged towards the Dratini at first with a cold breath, but then ice formed on his fangs, giving them a sharper appearance than usual. Aiming for the soft underbelly of his prey, he chomped down on what he could reach on the dragon type's body.
