Tod let out a visible breath of relief when the Nidoran fainted. He was glad he did not have to deal with her anymore. She was too emotional for him. Though, seeing her lying there like that, he did feel kind of sorry for her. He looked up at his trainer to see what he would do.
Darko eyed the Nidoran carefully. He knew what he was supposed to do. Glancing at Tod, he wondered if the Sandshrew would mind having the poison Pokémon around. he would have to get used to it. Darko could not just leave the Nidoran there fainted. It did not seem right. Something could happen to her. Besides, he knew he could train her well. With this in mind, he took out an empty Pokeball and tossed it at the Nidoran.

::nidoranf:: CAPTURED Oooooh shoooooot. Although fainted. She opened her eyes a bit to find that the world was spinning, she felt lightheaded, and something was flying at her. And then it hit her. It was a poke'ball. She was being captured. She tried to fight against it. But it sucked her up and shut her away. It twitched. It fell still to the ground and she was captured.
Tod and Darko were not alone long though. Something was going thump thump thump off the path a ways, in the shadows of the bushes. Might be worth going to investigate if you've brave.

Darko smiled softly to himself when the Nidoran was enclosed in the Pokeball. His first catch. He felt a great sense of accomplishment. He picked up the Pokeball and carefully put it away. He gave a slight nod to his Sandshrew. "Great job, Tod," he said. He fell silent as he heard a noise.
Tod heard it too. It sounded like a big and scary Pokemon to him. <Maybe we should get out of here,> he murmured more to himself than to his trainer. He suddenly wished he was in the warm, safe harbor of his Pokeball. He swallowed hard when he realized Darko's curiosity was pricked. He had no chose but to follow behind his trainer as he headed down the path and towards the bushes.

losing his mother a few minutes ago, the sewaddle was beside himself. tears falling down his face and sobbing loudly, he ran back and forth crying out for his mother the leavanny but to no avail. she had gone missing, and now he was totally and completely lost in this forest on route one. < mummy? mummy? > he cried out, running forward towards a light that somehow looked familiar. well, even if it didn't look familiar, it was a light and he wanted to go somewhere that looked safe. instead, he tripped over his own feet - as he was prone to do - and tumbled out of the undergrowth in front of a trainer, crying desperately. < wahh! > he wailed, flinging his many little arms up in the air. < h-help me find my mummy? > he cried out pathetically, asking the trainer for help. it wouldn't take too long to go searching for a leavanny, right? you can't leave this poor, pathetic little guy here sobbing on the road. that would be just plain mean. Darko nearly jumped in surprise when something fell out of the bushes in front of him. It was a little Sewaddle! It seemed distressed. The trainer frowned when it began to cry. Something was wrong. He turned to his own Pokemon for some kind of clue.
Tod tentatively took a few steps towards the Sewaddle. <You lost your mom?> he said in a concerned voice. The little guy looked so sad. They could not just leave him there. <We'll help you find her.> He looked up at his trainer. Would he understand? The Sandshrew put a claw over his forehead and moved his head as if searching for something.
Darko watched his Pokemon carefully. He could tell that the Sewaddle needed help. He bent down so that he could look into the Pokemon's eyes. "Are you lost?" he guessed. "Are you looking for something? For someone? We can try to help." It did not seem right to leave the little guy there. He seemed to be young and troubled.

looking wildly from pokemon to trainer to pokemon again, the sewaddle was suddenly struck with a bout of timidness and was lost for words. < uhm... ah... > he fumbled, looking down and twiddling his feet together. the sandshrew was getting close, too close: but his soothing words stopped the sewaddle baby from feeling frightened and meant he felt he could trust the ground-type. < y-yeah, i lost my mummy, > he said, sniffling. looking into the trainer's eyes when he bent down to talk to him, the sewaddle crawled forward and latched onto the trainer's pants leg, drying his eyes and sniffly nose on the fabric and clinging there, too afraid to go into the forest by himself. < i just wanna find my m-m-mummy! > he wailed, flailing his legs in the air dramatically, almost falling over backwards as he did so. pointing at the forest he had come from, he descended into unintelligible wails and moans, and not another word could be gotten out of him until he calmed down. Darko was surprised when the Sewaddle latched onto his legs. He frowned as he watched the Pokemon, who seemed really upset. What was he supposed to do? He glanced at Tod. The Sandshrew pointed towards the forest where the Sewaddle had come from and nodded. Darko thought he understood. They had to go into the forest and look for whatever the Sewaddle was missing. One of its parents maybe? Or whoever looked after him. He did appear to be a baby.
But first they had to get the little guy to calm down. While Darko was awkward with comforting people, he was really good with Pokemon. He smiled slightly when he remembered the Totodile he had found when he was only a child. He shook the memories away so that he could focus on the present. "It's ok, little guy," he said in what he hoped was a soothing voice. He tentatively put a hand on the Pokemon's back and began to gently stroke it. "Just calm down now and we'll help you." Tod stood nearby, ready to help if needed.

NOO!! MUMMY! MUMMY! MUMMY!< He screamed to the top of his lungs as he felt the trainer stroke his back a bit. He also struggled to escape, splashing from side to side but Darko had a pretty firm grasp on him which prevented him from going anywhere. But that didn't matter, the damage was already done as his large noise seemed to have notified someone as footsteps were heard approaching Darko and the Sewaddle from the forest that it came from.
What exactly could these footsteps lead to? Was it a pokemon? A trainer? Maybe the mummy? Whatever it was, it did not sound happy from the heavy foot stomps heard from a distance.

Tod jumped back when the Sewaddle began to scream and freak out. He chuckled nervously. What was the little guy's problem? They were only trying to help.
Darko's eyes widened at the Pokemon's reaction. "I'm sorry!" he said quickly. He wished he knew what the Sewaddle was saying. Lac of communication was a big part of the problem. He dropped his hand and tried to back off when he heard the noise. He immediately froze as his ears tried to distinguish the sound. It sounded like a threat. His body was tense with anticipation.
The Sandshrew gasped at the sound. <Now can we get out of here?!> he cried as he ran to hide behind his trainer.

::sewaddle:: WILD SEWADDLE level 06 • swarm + chlorophyll • male tackle, string shot clumsy, timid, nervous, lost cries + falls over his own feet freaking out His freaking out started to cease a bit when the trainer and his Sandshrew did the same. He was kind of confused by the whole situation. Why were they freaking out too? Did they lose someone also? "Um... are you okay?" He said calmly and while staring up wide-eyed at the trainer, glancing down at Sandshrew. He was still squirming a little bit uncomfortably.
Orianna
The attention that was caught was that of trainer school graduate Orianna. She battled her way through the brush and appeared on the scene, looking at the Sewaddle and then to the trainer. "What's going on here? Do I need to call Officer Jenny?" He threatened, holding on to her Growlithe's poke'ball in her left hand.

Darko glanced down at the Sewaddle when the Pokemon began to calm. What was going on with him? The trainer did not have much time to ponder this before he was approached by another person. He initially relaxed. At least it was not a dangerous wild Pokemon. But the girl's tone and words caused Darko to stiffen and become defensive. "I have done nothing wrong," he said. When he realized his tone was probably too hard, he willed himself to speak calmly. "This Sewaddle was freaking out. I think it's lost. I was just trying to help it." He stared at the trainer. Would she believe him? He did not want any trouble.
Tod slowly emerged from behind Darko. He gave the Sewaddle a half-hearted smile. <I think everything's ok now.>

------ WILD SEWADDLE & ORIANNA! ♥ Age 17. Female. Graduated early from Trainer's School and believes she can do anything. Always tries to one-up others. Bratty; when she doesn't get her way, she ragequits. May give out a Mystic Water, Miracle Seed or Charcoal depending on your Pokémon.
Sensing the defensive tone immediately, the Sewaddle stiffened and kept quiet in Darko's grip. He wasn't about to taunt someone in this type of mood with his usual panic and whining. Keeping his sniffles to himself, he stared bleakly at Orianna as she braced herself for a hostile reaction. This tension was bad, and he didn't like it one bit. When Darko explained himself, Orianna lowered her guard a little. She would've loved to snap right back at him after hearing his tone of voice, but she figured that would only get her in more trouble. Instead, she walked closer to the Sewaddle to get a better look at it. "That's a Sewaddle? Are you sure? It just looks like a Weedle with some leaves on it." She made a face of disgust as she turned her head, hardly feeling sympathetic to something so horrendous.
Bugs had a complicated relationship with her, apparently liking her even more when she resisted their affections. The thought of them even touching her made her entire body squirm uncomfortably. <T-That's cruel. I'm no Weedle.> The Sewaddle whimpered in his own defense, but his words went on deaf ears. Orianna hardly understood Pokespeech, let alone any language besides English. "If you helped every wild Pokemon, you'd end up being an old man. You should take it by force and be done with it." Orianna stubbornly crossed her arms, extremely defiant to any other opinion that entered her ears.

Darko bristled at Orianna's condemnation. There was no need to be mean to the poor little Pokemon. It would probably just make the situation worse. Tod did not like it either. He found it offensive. He frowned and touched the Sewaddle's side with his claw to let him know that he was on his side. Pokemon had to stand together. The Sandshrew looked up at his trainer and wondered if he would fight.
Darko set his jaw tight and narrowed his eyes at the girl. What right did she have to tell him what to do? He could be kind if he wanted to. It was none of her business. "This is a Sewaddle," he said firmly. "I know my Pokemon. Don't tell me what's the best thing to do. A little compassion never hurt anyone." And that was what seemed to be lacking from the world. It was such a shame. It could heal many problems.

Bratty; when she doesn't get her way, she ragequits. May give out a Mystic Water, Miracle Seed or Charcoal depending on your Pokémon. Orianna no longer cared whether or not the other trainer wanted to keep the sewaddle since he wasn't letting it go, but she tilted her head upwards. Putting a finger to her nose just so the trainer could see it as she kept plugging her nose so that nothing could effect her. The sewaddle in the trainer's arms was suddenly shifting uncomfortably as he was scared of the other trainer and kept to himself for a minute until he let out a low wail. Wanting to get away from her and hopefully she would go away soon otherwise he was going to run away into the sunset serenade that would be about to play if he did. Such a romantic gesture, but he then nuzzled into the trainer's chest more. Keep her away from me! She smells like a butt face the sewaddle said as he cried again. That's when Orianna then decided she was better than the other trainer, and after telling her to leave him alone. That upset her more, and she wasn't even happy at this point. The fiery personality she had soon changed as she didn't care what happened to her anymore. That's when she gave up trying to determine what it was and suddenly threw out her growlithe Inferna as she seemed to howl into the air soon as she was out there. "I don't care what kind of pokemon it is, BOY, you're just an impudent know-it-all with nothing better to do than make out with worm pokemon!" she commented. Pointing her finger at him, "Let's battle and I'll show you who your superior is!" she said suddenly even as she was fuming. The sewaddle was trying to hide further into the other trainer's chest. Inferna was merely growling at all of them since they made her trainer upset, and wanted to show them just how fiercely loyal she could be. ::sewaddle:: WILD SEWADDLE level 06 • swarm + chlorophyll • male tackle, string shot clumsy, timid, nervous, lost cries + falls over his own feet ::growlithe:: Inferna Level 3 - Female Intimidate - Flash Fire Bite||Roar Feisty - Overconfident - Vagabond [/size][STYLE=border-bottom: 5px solid #FFC7FF;] [/style] notes: song: tagged: Modded

Darko could tell by the Sewaddle's movements that he was afraid of this woman. He did not really blame him. He reacted by wrapping his arms more tightly around the Pokemon. At least he was not afraid of the trainer anymore. He glared at Orianna. He would protect the bug type. Everyone deserved a defense.
He was outraged at the other trainer's accusations against him. He did not like to be judged so suddenly like that. It happened way too often and it was usually wrong. He had his honor at stake now. He did not like to be controlled. He would show her. "You're asking for it," he growled. He glanced down at his own Pokemon. "Tod, are you alright to battle?" The Sandshrew nodded and stepped forward. He had had time to rest since his last battle, which was mostly what he needed. "Alright, use Scratch!"
The Growlithe looked much more threatening to Tod than the Nidoran had. And this Pokemon had a trainer. Would it be stronger? He would have to be careful. At least this own did not have an irrational grudge against him. With all that in mind, he bounded forward. When he got close enough, he extended his arm and attempted to scratch Inferna with his claws.

"Get ready for a fight Inferna." Orianna put a hand on her jutted out hip and looked down at her little growling puppy dog. Inferna spun around in a circle and barked loudly before racing towards Tod. Part way in her charge she was met with the scratch attack across her muzzle. But she didn't stop her charge, she opened up her jaws and jumped towards the Sandshrew to use a bite attack, more than willing to put her body on the line to put in a full-on attack. Orianna cracked her knuckles and smirked at Darko.

Tod smiled happily when he felt his claws hit his target successfully. But he had no time to react when the Growlithe launched her own attack. The Sandshrew let out a squeal of pain. He got away from Inferna as quickly as her could and rolled into the position of defense curl.
Darko wondered if he's Pokemon's defensive instincts was a problem. He would have to think on that later. "Use Scratch again." He glanced down at the Sewaddle to make sure he was ok. He still could not understand what he was saying, but at least he seemed safe.
Tod did not like the process of going close to Inferna's jaws again, but he unrolled nonetheless. He sent the Growlithe what he hoped was a menacing look before charging at her again.

Inferna instinctively dodged the claws, her trainer cocking an eyebrow at her fiesty pup. "Good job! We've so got them where we want them! Grrr!" she pointed a shaking index finger at the sandshrew. "Show them your mighty jaws of justice! No mercy!"
Inferna's fur bristled, glossy shaggy locks catching the sunlight. Lowing herself to the ground, her tail waggled and she prepared to pounce!
Sewaddle glanced at the battle, curious about his would-be assailant. At the sight of the growlithe's sharp teeth he squirmed and pressed into the trainer's arms again. <OWWW!>

Darko's mind was running as the action ensued. He was aware that this was his first real battle. He did not want to mess it up. Especially in front of someone like her. His mind thought quickly. "Dodge it and use Scratch!" He wanted to save his Sandshrew's stronger attack until the Growlithe was weaker and there was a greater chance for success. He frowned as he looked down at the Sewaddle. "It'll be alright," he said softly. "Don't worry."
Tod was read this time. It was not graceful by any means, but he managed to leap out of the way of Inferna's jaws before they clamped around his skin. He was quick on his feet. He spun back around and slashed out his arm. That would show her!

This time Inferna couldn't dodge fast enough. Claws hooked her flank, slicing flesh and tendons. One of her legs gave out under her as the blood collected in a neat pool in the dirt. Orianna said nothing at first. She flashed the trainer her best cocky grin and put her hands on her hips. "Lucky shot!"
Inferna did her best to keep it together. Staggering to her feet, she tried to shake off the blow. "That's the way! Bite again!"
She was moving a bit slower as she closed the distance between sandshrew and herself. Hungry fangs needed to taste blood!
