Darko gave a small nod of satisfaction when his Sandshrew hit the Growlithe hard. That was just what he wanted to see. "Great work, Tod! Keep it up!" He rolled his eyes at the girl's comment. "In your dreams," he muttered.
Tod smiled triumphantly. He had gotten a hit! His eyes widened when the Growlithe ran for him again. He tried to dodge out of the way, but he was not quick enough. Inferna's teeth clamped around his tail, causing him to wince in pain. He had to pull hard to get free from her grip, causing even more pain.
Darko surveyed the situation. It did not look like Tod was too badly injured. he seemed to still have a lot of energy left. The trainer knew what he had to do. It was time for a strong blow. "Use Rock Climb!"
Tod was breathing heavily from his effort. He heard Darko's command and nodded. He could do it! He was feeling more confident as the battle progressed. He turned to face the Growlithe. He got down at all fours and began to race towards his opponents, his head lowered for the attack.

Orianna was starting to rage. Sandshrew's rock climb attack hit her Growlithe in the chest and Inferna yipped loudly and began freaking out. She growled and her fur stood up on end to make herself look bigger. And then with a loud howl she turned and ran after Tod, her fangs bared to use another powerful bite attack on the ground type. But it was clear she was starting to tire, her tongue hanging out of her mouth and panting beginning.

Tod let out a squeak when he saw the Growlithe raging after him. She looked mad! He tried to run out of the way, but he nearly stumbled over his feet and was hit by the attack. He sucked in a sharp breath. He could still go on. He just had to hang in a little longer.
Darko knew he had to finish this soon. He made a mental note to make a quick trip to the Pokemon Center when he was next able to. Both Tod and his Nidoran would be needing it. "Good. Now try to finish it with Scratch!"
Tod stood up strong and confident. He wanted to please his trainer and show him how good of a Pokemon he could be. He turned around and leapt at the Growlithe to deliver his best Scratch attack.

Inferna Level 3 - Female Intimidate - Flash Fire Bite||Roar Feisty - Overconfident - Vagabond hit by scratch fainted - + .5 to Tod
Inferna wasn't able to keep fighting any longer. Following the scratch attack she collapsed into the dirt and didn't get back up. She looked rather peaceful having just fainted... especially since she was no longer the little spitfire she was before. But her trainer was a right mess following her Growlithe's collapse. She grabbed Inferna's poke'ball and angrily tossed it at her Growlithe. She stomped her foot and screamed loudly. "No no no no no." She raged and crossed her arms over her chest. "That's it. I'm done. I don't even want to send out my Cubchoo!" It seemed as if she was refusing to continue with this fight...

When the Growlithe fainted, Tod let out a sigh of relief. Good, it was finished. He felt satisfied at his success. But he was tired. He wanted to curl up into a ball and sleep.
Darko was pleased with his Pokemon. "Great battling, Tod. Why don't you take a rest?" He took out the Sandshrew's Pokemon and pushed the button to suck him up into the ball. He then looked at Orianna and quirked an eyebrow. She sure was a strange one. "Do you forfeit then? Why don't you leave us alone?" He wanted to get back to dealing with the Sewaddle.

Orianna raged, practically tearing out her long black hair as she turned away from Darko and began stomping off. That was the single most embarrassing thing she had ever had happen to her. Guess she was forfeiting after all...

He peaked his head out from the safety of Darko's grasp. He looked over his shoulder to see Orianna leaving. He smiled to himself and slowly he began to climb up Darko's clothing until he was perching on the trainer's shoulder. "Um... thanks. People don't usually help me out like that." He said kindly to Darko, awkwardly reaching over to hug the trainer's head.

Darko smiled at the Sewaddle's actions. He felt a warm feeling stir inside of him. It felt good to help a Pokemon out and be rewarded for it. He thought he knew what the Sewaddle had said. "You're welcome." He glanced in the direction of the forest. He motioned towards it with his arms. "Was there someone you were looking for?" He took a step in the direction of the forest to see what the Sewaddle would do. He silently wondered if it was a good idea to wander off the path. And what chance did they have of actually finding what they were looking for?

The small Sewaddle nodded as the trainer asked if he was looking for someone in particular. < Yesh, > he spoke, his little bobs on his head wriggling as he thought. < I lost my momma... > It was a bit easier to get an answer from him now that his trust was gained and he had settled down for sure. < She said she was gonna come back but she never ever did. >
He started to nibble at his own leaf on his head before wincing and tearing up. He forgot that it hurt to eat himself, mostly because he often forgot the leaf on his head WAS part of himself. < Do you think we can find her, mister? > He sniffled as he asked the last bit, curling up around the young trainer's neck. level 06 • male swarm + chlorophyll tackle, string shot clumsy, timid, nervous, lost ::sewaddle::

Darko watched the Sewaddle carefully. He was glad he was calm and willing to cooperate. He still did not understand what he was saying, but it appeared like the Pokemon was speaking in the affirmative. Was it his mom he lost? That would seem logical. Or maybe he just wanted to go home. Darko nodded once. "Ok," he said. "Let's go." He turned towards the forest again where the Sewaddle had come out. What would he find in there? Well, he was about to find out. It would do not good to let any potential dangerous Pokemon sense fear, so he tried to remain calm and confident as he stepped into the forest and took a look around.

::sewaddle:: level 06 • male swarm + chlorophyll tackle, string shot clumsy, timid, nervous, lost "Thank you." He said quickly while leaning over to nuzzle his leafy head against Darko fondly. Nervous, and otherwise alone, it was easy for him to grow attached to him so quickly. A twig would snap occasionally, or something in the dark forest would growl, and the Sewaddle shivered and stayed close to the trainer who was protecting him.
Somewhere deeper in the forest, the Leavanny who was Sewaddle's mother was calling out for her missing child. In her arms a whole army of Sewaddle were present. She literally had her arms full with children, but she knew that one was missing. But she sounded far away... it was going to be a long walk to get to her.

Darko smiled softly. It felt good to have earned the trust and affection of some creature. It helped him forget the past and focus on the future. Everything was going to be fine. This was where he was meant to be. He lifted his head when he heard a distant noise. It was hard to make out. Was it a Leavanny? He could not tell for sure. "Does that sound familiar?" he asked the Sewaddle as he moved in that direction. From the sound of it, it would take a while until he got there and found out for sure, but he felt hopeful that this mission would be a success after all. He quickened his pace as much as he could without risking the Sewaddle falling off his shoulder.

[style=font-family: Palatino Linotype; text-transform: uppercase; text-align: center; font-size: 30px;].:wild Pokémon encounter:. The Sewaddle perked up instantly at the cries of it's long lost mother. She sounded so small and far away from here though, it was heartbreaking! He started to sniffle, but nodded a whole bunch so the trainer knew that was his mom. At least, it certainly sounded like her! When Darko started to move faster, the little bug type let out a string shot to fasten himself to the trainer's shoulder, just to make sure he didn't fall off! It certainly took a while, but once the little bug got closer he started to cry out for his mother.
< Momma, MOMMA! > He squealed, and the elegant mother soon heard his cries. Soon the mother was rushing for them, all of her babies in her arms but one. She stopped suddenly at the sight of the trainer, however, sizing up the potential kidanpper of her child. < Momma! > Cried the baby, eager to see his mother and his siblings... Darko slowed to a stop once the Leavanny was in sight. He was slightly surprised to see so many Sewaddle in the Pokemon's arms. Wow. That was a lot of babies. No wonder one could get lost. He was happy that the Sewaddle on his shoulder seemed excited, but he sensed suspicion from the Leavanny. He supposed it was only natural. Most wild Pokemon did not make friends with trainers. He would heave to explain this. "Hello," he said slowly and calmly. "I bring you no harm. This little one got lost. I have brought him back for you." He lifted his arms and gently took hold of the Sewaddle. Then he carefully placed the Pokemon on the ground near his mother. He waited to see what would happen. He hoped he could leave peacefully.

[style=font-family: Palatino Linotype; text-transform: uppercase; text-align: center; font-size: 30px;].:wild Pokémon encounter:. The mother seemed to approve of the trainer's response and reached out to take her little baby back, before promptly dropping a couple of her other babies. Her arms just were big or strong enough to hold all of her children-- the smallest of them were half the size of the little Sewaddle that Darko rescued, and with the other bunch mostly grown up and getting too much to handle, crow's feet were growing early on the mother.
She worried and fretted as she scrambled to pick up all of the others, before sighing. The Sewaddle that had grown attatched to Darko let out a small, sad whine as he realized he was going to be left behind. < Momma, I really like this trainer, > he told his mother as she picked him up and checked him over for bruises or marks. Finding not a scratch on him, she smiled brightly.
< You know what, why don't you ask that man if you can go with him. > She looked up at the trainer as she continued, < It's too much of a handful to take care of all of them, they should be leaving the nest soon anyway... > There was a bit of sadness in her eyes as her Sewaddle scurried over to the young man and squeaked.
< Please, oh please, take me with you, mister! > He wiggled his little arms, hoping that he would be taken away from this forest and shown the world. He was a little bit scared, but he trusted Darko a whole lot. level 06 • male swarm + chlorophyll tackle, string shot clumsy, timid, nervous, lost wants to go with you! Capture? Darko watched the reunion with a slight smile. It would be kind of sad to see the little guy go. He liked him. He raised his eyebrows at the mother's troubles. Maybe she had too many babies to handle. He was surprised when the Sewaddle he had fun ran back up to him. He strained to understand what he was saying. He glanced at the Leavanny. Did she want the Sewaddle to go with him? Looking at the little bug Pokemon again, that seemed to be the case. "You want to come with me?" He smiled. "That sounds great. We'll have lots of fun." He was pleased that he had had such an effect on the little guy. He did not want to throw a Pokeball at the Sewaddle, so he took one out and placed it near him so that he could touch it and be captured.

He crawled towards the ball and crawled on top of it for a second before hitting the large button with his big buggy nose. The red glow spiraled outwards and surrounded him, pulling him into the capture orb. It wiggled around on the ground and then 'dinged' shut. His mother reached down and picked up the orb from the ground, reaching out to give it to the trainer. <Take care of him.> She juggled the rest of her children into her other arm, some climbed up on her shoulders and others her head. <He was one of the best behaved... if a little submissive.> She spoke fondly of her child and then turned, leaping off into the forest... leaving the trainer in the dark depths of the forest.

Darko smiled as the Sewaddle climbed on the Pokeball and pushed the button. He would make a good Pokemon. Darko could not wait to get to know him better and train him. He glanced at the Leavanny and nodded. He understood the message that was being passed. "Thank you," he said as he took the Pokeball. His eyes lingered on the mother as she walked away with her children. He silently wished her good luck. It looked like she had a lot of work on her hands.
He was about to leave when another Pokemon appeared. This one did not look friendly. He froze when the skunk lifted his tail. Uh oh. This was not good. The Sewaddle's Pokeball was still in his hand. He could use it if he needed to. For now, he choice to back away slowly and say, "Hi, there. I was just leaving. No need to do anything rash." He was not sure if this would work, but it was worth a try.

The skunk Pokémon snorted as if you could just act like you could just walk wherever you wanted. He ambled closer to you, blocking the way Darko was planning on going, his tail raised high as he wagged it around very, very slowly. Oh yes, he wanted to spray the trainer all over... That would show them for taking THIS path.
After all, this was HIS path. He'd let them know. If they knew what was good for them, they'd go a different me. He stomped his feet as a final warning, the noxious fumes from his fur already soaking into the air, even though he had yet to let loose a gas of any kind. Not to say he wasn't prepared to, but he wasn't about to get out of the way, either! Not without a fight, at least. Darko growled in frustration when the skunk blocked his path. What did this Pokémon think he was doing? The trainer knew he had to get out of there. He had to find the path. But it looked like he would have to get through this Stunky first. So be it. He pushed the button on the Pokeball in his hand, releasing the Sewaddle. "I'm going to name you 'Theo,'" he said gently to the Pokémon as he stared up at him curiously. "Can you help me out here? I know you can do it." He hoped gentle prodding would encourage the baby. He was his strongest Pokémon at the moment.
The Sewaddle frowned. He liked the name, but he was not sure about the prospect of battling. What if he got hurt or lost? But the trainer had saved him once before. It was time to return the favor. He gulped nervously as he stared at the skunk Pokémon. It looked intimidating. He shot out sticky string at the Stunky to reduce its speed. Maybe then it would not be able to get Theo!

The skunk Pokémon was hit head on by the string shot attack, covering himself in sticky, nasty white goo. Oh no. This wouldn't do! The Stunky glared at the Trainer and the Sewaddle, his leer not quite as powerful as an actual leer attack (he, after all, didn't know leer, but he was still pretty angry looking!) but he wasn't about to let that stop him from trying. Actually, he looked...
Kind of constipated. Suddenly from his rear end he let out a huuuuuge poisonous gas that filled the air around him, as he went in to slice down the bug with a scratch attack with his sharp claws. < Don't mess with the best! > Snapped the Stunky, who really thought he WAS the best!
