Full Name: Uriah Faulkner
Gender: Male
Age: 18 (March 27th)
Appearance:
Uriah is 5’11” and weighs 190 lbs. He has a slight muscular build, but makes sure he is not too heavy for any Pokémon he rides on his parents’ ranch. The young man has messy, short, blond hair, brown eyes, and a moderate-toned, white skin color.
The young rancher always wears his riding gloves. They are useful for multiple situations other than gripping a saddle or reins, such as climbing on ropes to not get rush burn, gripping something hot, etc. Another item he uses is his unique, brown belt, which will not only hold the pokeballs he will use, but also any tools like hammers, if needed. A third accessory he wears at all times when travelling is his bag which holds the essentials he uses both for his pokemon, but also for himself and anyone he travels with. Finally, he carries around a survival knife to gather food and fix items when out on the road.
He tends to hear light, button-down shirts, but tends to leave them unbuttoned due to the belief that being buttoned down will restrain movement. The man also wears jeans to assist with dirty terrain, but gets very aggravated if they get wet.
Background:
Uriah was born to James and Lucy Faulkner, two very prodigious owners of a Pokémon ranch. His father actually began as a Bug-type specialist, focusing on using the threads caterpillar Pokémon make or the honey Combees make to sell or use for several reasons. To spread his name, he decided to become a trainer and sell his product along the travels, hopefully getting him a few connections. It worked, and his products were used in several items on the market. Along with this, his father’s team became impeccably strong with the following on his side by the time he retired his journey: Vespiqueen, Forretress, Heracross, Ninjask, Galvantula, and his personal body guard Scizor. Still young, after getting the eight badges, he decided to retire the journey, because if he were to become champion, he felt like he would have to sacrifice his enterprise just to sit in the middle of a room all the time, and that wasn’t his idea of a fulfilling life.
On his journey back, he met a dashing young woman named Lucy. She was a ranching Pokémon specialist. She had been lost on the way to the Elite Four when she ran into Uriah. Since she wanted to be a little daring, she bet on a Pokémon match some of Uriah’s honey. He agreed, thinking it would be an easy sweep. Her poekmon were Rapidash, Ampharos, Tauros, Bouffalant, Stoutland, and her endless supply of nourishment and love, a Miltank. Uriah has an amazingly difficult time against the Rapidash, as to be expected, but began sweeping her Pokémon once Heracross and Scizor entered the field. He won, but in more than one way. She was impressed, and he was in love. The big trainer helped Lucy get to a near-by Pokémon center, and while there asked her if she’d like to see his farm. She accepted the offer, but was shocked to see tons of hives and cocoon Pokémon scattered across a massive area of woods. She came up with a business proposal to bring a ranch to a plain area next to the woods and she would be in charge of raising tauros, miltanks, and mareeps. They became business partners, then eventually lovers and got married.
Their one and only child, they named Uriah. They started him off with general knowledge of the care and breeding knowledge of the Pokémon they took care of on their ranch and farm. He excelled in this knowledge, but was quite daring when it came to the interaction with Pokémon a a young age. This included toying with a tauros’s three tails, to which he would have to be saved by a Ninjask whizzing by pushing him out of the way of a stomp or charge.
To try to get the rambunctious child to get a hobby and to get his adventurous side a release, his mother decided to train him on how to ride Pokémon. This started when he was a toddler, getting piggy-back rides from the friendly Miltank. Later, he would be stuffed into a tame Bouffalant’s afro and be taken for a mild ride. Finally, at the age of ten, he would begin riding Tauros and begin training on rodeo activities, like bucking. When his mother had seen he was ready, she showed him a colt Ponyta. She stated that if he could tame the Ponyta, it would be his first Pokémon. Excited for the challenge, the boy sprinted up to hop onto the understandably frightened Ponyta. In reaction, the Ponyta made her flames able to burn and the boy learned not to run into fire that day…
For the next year, Uriah had worked on becoming gentler and more respective of not only that Ponyta, but also of all Pokémon. Ponyta eventually warmed up to the now more mature child and let him onto her back. From that point on, they were only seperable by the walls of the Faulkner estate.
When he was twelve, his parents explained to him that, because of their status and for his future well-being, he was going to have an arranged marriage. Beng so young, he shrugged it off as no big deal. As long as he could have the adventurous outlook on life he currently had, he was fine.
A few years later, when he was eighteen, he saw an unusual site. He saw a Luxray sprint out from one of the barns and into the woods. He knew he would never catch up to the pokemon, so he decided to see what it was doing in a barn. When he walked in, two Shinxes sprinted out to follow their mother. He looked closely at the corner, and noticed a rather small Shinx, shivering and starving. It was obviously the runt of the litter and had been treated as such. His nuturring instinct came in and he grabbed a MooMoo drink and gave it to the tiny Shinx. It had fully recovered and was purring, much to Uriah’s delight.
Almost immediately after, he met the wonderful Kielo, the woman he was going to marry. All seemed right in the world. She was lovely! As a momento of their meeting, and because Kielo seemed like a gentle and wonderful person, he gave her the Shinx he had just found, knowing it would be okay with her.
The meeting had inspired him, and a few months later, he proposed to his parents the idea that Kielo and he should journey the continent together and attempt to be the first champions that are a couple. James and Lucy thought, while it would probably never work out to them becoming champion, it would result in a happy marriage, so they gave their okay. Ecstatically, he took the week to prepare materials, got his Ponyta ready, and began travelling to where Kielo lived to bring her along this potentially wonderful jouney.

Interactions With Pokemon
Uriah has a deep respect for Pokémon and how they naturally live. He views Pokémon as comrades, not simply workers. On the ranch and farm his parents own, he always made sure that the Pokémon were comfortable and that they were given individual care, and his own future Pokémon would be treated no differently, including his Ponyta.
He has a strict policy to NOT have Pokémon in their pokeballs when they are healthy. He will only call a Pokémon into the pokeball for protection against weather, further injury, or where a pokemon’s size, weight, etc. would put it in danger.
Personality
Sensative
He instantly forms deep connections with a Pokémon he sees that is in trouble and will instantly want to take cares if it. If it is sad, so will he. If it is mad, so will he. His empathy will probably make him act rashly, but hopefully he’ll have his better half help him.
Impatient Thrill-seeker
If there is a choice to be made between a safe route that takes awhile, and a dangerous route that will shorten the time immensely, he will automatically go to the dangerous route, not because his impatient, but because of the thrill. This does go along with the fact that he is, indeed, impatient. If he sees a method that will get something done faster, he’ll do it.
Loving
Whether it is to Kielo, his parents, or to his pokemon, he is a very loving guy. He will instantly sacrifice himself to make a person he cares about happy. Sure, he could be manipulated, and he has had reasons in the past to feel jaded, but it’s a natural inclination that he’ll do anything for what he loves.
Pre-starter Information
His Ponyta’s name is Seraphine (Hebrew for “Burning fire”), and for good reason. If ANYONE tries to ride Seraphine that is not Uriah, she will raise the temperature to a burning level and start bucking. However, after going through a few years with Uriah and his family, they are the only humans it trusts for the moment. It will also kick back any attempt at a pokeball, even if it is out of its league in a fight, it would rather run away than withdraw completely from the field.
Goals in Cheyenne
His goal is to become a masterful team, not only in pokemon, but in life in general, with his future bride, Kielo Loussier. This would include mastering team battles, defeating gyms, and getting Pokémon he feels comfortable using (so more than likely ranch Pokémon or bug-types).
