Gender
Female
Age

Appearance

Serena is of average height, standing at about 5 foot 5 inches, and slightly above average weight. Dark hair frames her face, often halfway pulled up on top of her head into a loose knot. Her eyes are a soft brown, often shining with understanding and care for those around her. Pale skin appears to be even paler due to her hair and eyes, though she's happy with this. Several yellow necklaces loop around her neck, handed down from her mother, and a rainbow patterned bracelet circles her left wrist. As for daily attire, she favors a white shirt with ruffled sleeves, unbuttoned down to mid-abdomen. A green and purple half-shirt covers this, with intricate swirls on the right side. Below that, she wears short purple shorts with a belt and a green and purple side skirt hanging off of it. Thin purple stockings come up to her mid-thigh, and her clothing is completed by red shoes with a small heel and ankle straps.
Background
If you asked her, Serena would say she raised herself. Her mother died in an accident shortly before her 7th birthday, and her father never had the time for her due to work and his social life. She learned to take care of herself, only bothering her father when it was absolutely necessary and putting his needs before her own. Never did she consider her father a neglectful parent though, as she always had more than enough money, food, and other essential items.
After a particularly long absense when she was nine, her father brought home a Pokémon for her, thinking it could be a companion of sorts while he was away. Serena was estatic, and quickly bonded with the pokemon, calling it Squeak and rarely going anywhere without it. A short while after her 14th birthday, Squeak passed away and Serena swore never to become attached to another pokemon, even if she did pursue her dream career of training.
Personality
Shy and quiet, that's Serena described perfectly. She doesn't often speak unless spoken to, and even then it's hard to get an answer. People make her nervous due to her being the target of childhood teasing, causing her to play with her hair and clothing, and even try to shrink away.
When faced with a confrontation, Serena hides behind her hair if she can, and crosses her arms tightly across her chest. She's soft spoken and hates fights, even of the verbal form. If things must come to nasty words or actions being exchanged, she is by no means a pushover and doesn't need others to fight her battles after she's dragged into them.
Perhaps due to losing her mother at a fairly young age, Serena has trouble with anyone who tries to help and take care of her. Even lashing out in some cases, she's a strong believer in being independent and not needing to rely on other people, though pokemon are a different story.
Despite not being comfortable around people, when she's around pokemon, Serena becomes a whole different person. She loves everything about them, and feels much more comfortable in their company than anyone else's.
