Shasta Ruins did involve the word 'mine' but sad to say, there is no crafting going on here. The good thing about these ruins were that they offered shards, which were quite valuable to a certain shop keeper in the ruins. Tristan came back to the mine, to see if he could get some more shards. It has been a while and he was running low on shards, so he may as well, he figured. Plus, it gives his pokemon a chance to train on their own. He grabbed one of his pokeballs, tossing it out and revealing a heracross. Tristan looked at this fighting bug, getting rather annoyed at it due to the fact that it had given him much trouble in route 3. He wondered himself why he caught him in the first place before remembering that it was quite strong. He shrugged while thinking that now, it would be okay. It was his pokemon now and wouldn't cause trouble, right? As he entered the ruins, he looked around, seeing if there was anyone else who was willing to go down with him.
Meanwhile, the heracross was fidgeting, getting used to his new environment and his new trainer. |

The last time Noah had been to the ruins, he met up with Team Death's leader and together, they mined for shards, valuable minerals people exchanged for fabulous prizes. He came back to supply himself with some more and hopefully get a few good TMs for his beloved Pokémon. He had a few potential candidates who needed thos technical machines, but without the shards, he couldn't get them.
The Pokémon Noah chose to accompany him inside the ruins was his newest pokemon, an Aron. It was a very strange pokemon, but he found it hilarious and amusing so they quickly bonded. Despite its small size, it had a very strong and resilient body, making it perfect for mining.
"Come on, Loki! I think I see someone." Not far from them, a lone trainer was standing by the ruins entrance. He seemed to be alone save for the Heracross standing beside him. "Hey! Wanna pair up wit m-" When Noah got closer to the him, he realized he met this guy before. He was Tristan, the guy he helped get out of a messed up nightmare world created by a Cresselia as a trap for him. "Oh, it's you." He didn't know if Trsitan still remembered him.

His eyes glowed with anticipation as he wondered what was inside. Even though he was Tristan's new pokemon, the heracross still believed he was a god in his own right. His trainer was just a vassal to get him to his needs. He snickered some as he beckoned Tristan to go into the minds. Tristan only sighed as he followed, but not before looking around to see who he could accompany. It'd be a hassle to get involved with the upper authorities about going in without a partner. At the same time, it was a hassle to mine with people. Tristan only groaned, rubbing his head at the lose-lose situation.
When he heard someone call out to him, he turned, immediately recognizing the person. "Oh! Uh....hey there. Ya, I remember you." Tristan said, blinking a few times as he took note of Noah. He remembered him alright: the guy who got him out of Cresselia's dimension. Hard to believe that he'd see that person again. "Well. Shall we go in?" He said, smirking at him. And then he entered the mine, ready to dig for a few shards. "So uh....ya, thanks for getting me out of that other dimension. |

"Don't mention it. It was obvious I'd help someone who got trapped in a nightmare world." Noah couldn't stand by and see a fellow trainer suffering alone in that horrible dimension. Cresselia really stooped low with that dirty trick. He couldn't imagine went through that legendary's mind when he sent Tristan into its messed up creation. Luckily, they got out safe and sound thanks to their pokemon's hard efforts.
Loki was rehearsing one of his favorite songs behind his trainer while he talked. He cast a brief glance at the Heracross standing beside Tristan, but it didn't seem interesting enough to approach. The beetle gave off an arrogant aura; Pokémon like that wouldn't appreciate his singing talents so the Aron wouldn't even bother with that bug.
"I think me and Loki are ready. Let's go." Noah smirked too and followed Tristan inside the ruins. It was only the second time he came here so he was still new to the mining business. Looking around, he noticed tools necessary for mining by the entrance. "I think we'll need these." He called out to the other boy and pointed at the pickaxes and shovels.

He wouldn't have known about it until someone or something led him out of it. But Tristan thought that it was good help, either way. Even if he believed that the trainer sounded....arrogant. Tristan sighed as he shrugged his shoulders. The trainer looked down, and then back up, as if he were trying to see if everything around him was real. So far, everything seemed like the way he believed it was.
The heracross looked at Loki, smirking as he saw a potential peon to his game. Such devious plans he had for world domination. They were all so good! HE snickered to himself as he looked at Loki. The pokemon seemed as if it didn't know how to sing, which annoyed the heracross somewhat. Maybe this peon wouldn't be good entertainment, but it could be useful in other things. Tristan, looked back at Noah, nodding at him. Both Tristan and the heracross followed Loki, readying themselves as they grabbed their picks and shovels. Tristan then went ahead first, hoping to get some mining done out of this. He looked at the mining map he had, trying to see if there were any extra shards he could get. "So. What's up. How have you been since that incident. |

The Heracross was giving him a strange and Loki didn't like that. He wanted to know what was going on inisde the Heracross' mind while it kept staring at him. It must have been thinking rude things about him! <You've got something to say, you Pinsir reject?> The Aron usually just sang songs and never spoke, but this time was a special case. He didn't like this bug type from the start and he was going to give it a piece of his mind!
"Nothing noteworthy, unfortunately. I am pretty far behind the other trainers. I only defeated the second Gym Leader recently despite having pokemon ranging from level 20 to 39." It was an embarrassing truth Noah would rather not tell other people, but he felt he could trust Tristan and be honest with him. After facing all those horrible things in that nightmare world together, Noah took a liking to this guy and he hoped the feeling was mutual. Trsitan was rude sometimes, but, despite this, he seemed like a nice guy.
Picking up a large pickax from the ground, Noah ventured deep into the ruins. He faced the walls most likely to contain shards inside and began to smash his tool into the had surface. Small chunks of stone were peeled off the wall by the sharp edge of the pickax, but Noah couldn't see the important minerals yet. He guessed they were deeper inside than this, but he couldn't reach them alone; he needed some help. "Hey, Tristan! I don't want to bother you, but could you give me a hand here? If I am right, there are plenty of shards in here, but I think it would take a long time if I tried to get them by myself."

He didn't really pay too much particular attention to what he said, as he was focused on getting some shards. He grabbed his pickaxe, peeling and chipping the rocks off of the wall. The area wasn't really particularly appealing to him, all there was were a bunch of rocks and stalagmites. The place was teaming with rock, ground, and cave pokemon, so it wasn't really all bad. A good place to learn about pokemon, and for a breeder like Tristan, he supposed he could tolerate and look around. Plus, there were shards so there was more of a reason to stay here. He looked at Noah, a few words of his catching his ear. "Whoa, you only have two badges and you're at THAT level? What are you doing, overtraining like that." Tristan said, putting it out there and asking bluntly. He then placed the treasure map he had with him inside his pocket
The heracross laughed a little at what the aron said, patting him on the head. Guess that is the sort of thing peons like this aron are supposed. <Hahaha. Well, you have quite a bite. Lovely little servant for me, than. And, you may not know this, but I'm better than pinsir.> He said, showing his own body and horn off. Tristan looked at Noah, bringing his pickaxe over and helping the trainer get rid of some rock. "So how do you know there are shards behind here huh?" Seemed a little stupid to assume such at thing. |

Noah didn't expect such a question from Tristan. Was there a problem with overtraining his Pokémon? It's not like he did it on purpose; somehow things escalated and by the time he noticed, a few of his Pokémon were way above the level range of the routes and cities he visited. "I challenged a lot of trainers and stuff happened. What about you? Did anything good happen after that incident with the Cresselia?" Noah said, trying to change the topic.
Noah was thankful to Tristan for listening to his request when he asked him to help. "It's just a hunch." His answer was short and simple. It was only a guess, but he somehow felt like he could find a bunch of shards if he dug deeper. Grabbing his pickaxe firmer, he smashed the sharp tool into the rock wall and started mining with all of his might.
<Servant? Who are you calling your servant, dumbass. Do you think your a king or a god or what? If you do then I'm sorry to burst your bubble, my friend, but you aren't!> Loki shook his head in disbelief. How could he work together with someone so stupid? Noah's wrong if he thinks he'll cooperate with this fat beetle. Scoffing angrily, he turned away from the Heracross and started working on what he came for. Lowering his thick head, Loki charged at the walls.

He didn't really take too much to someone who overtrains. He does understand what it takes to be a strong opponent and to be the best, but what's the point of training too much? Tristan was taught that overtraining meant overworking and not seeing everything in perspective. But nevertheless, he sighed as he continued digging through rocks with each swing of his pickaxe. "Oh me? I just went on with my journey. Challenged the gyms and all. Nothing special."
Tristan looked at Noah, sighing as he just went with it. If he says there was stuff behind these rocks, then may as well see if there were any. Meanwhile, the heracross laughed once more at the Aron's comment, giving the steel a type a pat on the head. <Please. I don't think I'm a god. I am one.> He said, his chin raised high. |

Noah's pickaxe was breaking larger and larger chunks off the stone wall, as the boy smashed it into the hard surface. He proceeded to pry a few shards out of the holes he made, but as he grabbed a particularly large one, he cut his hand on its sharp edge and blood started to ooze out of the wound in large quantities. "Have you challenged Avarice yet?" Noah didn't bother with the deep cut in his hand or the red liquid rapidly dripping down it. He seemed much more interested in Tristan's progress. He heard Avarice was an unusually difficult gym leader and most trainer failed to defeat her.
While the humans were talking Loki shot angry glares at the Heracross. He snorted at the bug type, but didn't argue with it. He had better things to do at the moment, like helping Noah with his mining. <Could the big and almighty god make himself useful and help too?>
