s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra wet her lips as he rested her arms on the table again, unclenching her fists into anxious fingers. At the mention of the look on her face, she let out a laugh. "Yeah, people tell me I make the funniest faces." She replied with relief that he wasn't juuudging her. But it was true - her emotions were often completely reflected in her face, as though it were a mirror of her feelings.
Seryl didn't reply, but smirked a bit when the Machop gave him a thumbs up. How corny. When he disappeared, the Cranidos didn't feel happy nor sad that he left. He was a rather odd pokemon. <I agree.> He responded to Tristan, sitting down and crossing his arms as he glanced up at the menu. Hmph, they didn't serve rocks - how unfortunate. He and Keitan could've gotten something fancy to eat, but nooo. They discriminated against rock pokemon.
Sierra hadn't even said anything about the Sandshrew, but Tristan seemed to notice how much she was admiring it, for he suddenly gave a shout that made her jump in surprise. "Woah, sorry! Did I do something?" She said really quick, raising her hands in the air until he mellowed out again. That was scary. "Yeah, I guess." She said with a laugh as she played along. "My pokemon are all so weird." She confessed with a proud smile.
"My Cranidos is kinda mean, but I think he's a softie at heart." Seryl glanced at her wordlessly, cocking an eyebrow ridge at her, and she offered him a smile before looking back at Tristan. "And my Floatzel's almost like an actual person sometimes! He's really fun to play with." She continued, then realized that she might be rambling. "Should I continue?" She inquired, staring at him.

OOC: Achievement for novelist, 2 pages. If you haven't gotten the prize already, lol.
Tristan smirked a little about how Sierra made funny faces. "Honestly, you kind of do. It says a lot about you." He said, waving his hands around. Though he was curious about one other thing. "But...why do you have that issue. I'm just curious is all." Tristan said rather bluntly. It as kind of odd to Tristan, and he wanted to know just why. He sat straight up as he listened to Sierra, trying not to seem judgmental. He didn't want to sound conceited, or as if she were judging her. But his curiosity did make him ask the question. "I can't really make funny faces. Not that good." He said, trying to flash the most awkwardly used smile he ever tried, attempting to pass it off as a funny face. "See, not good. I don't think my emotions would reflect on my face." Though that was a relatively big lie since he'd rather keep his cool than to make a hassle out of things like his social standing.
Then again, that was a bit of a lie. His facial expressions and smiles during the experience with Sierra proved the fact that his emotions kind of reflected off of his face, somewhat. Normally, with other people, he would usually stay very indifferent and, overall, seem relatively conceited. Who is to say that Sierra didn't view him that way now? Maybe he was started to like Sierra as a friend. Tristan shrugged it off, trying not to think about it so much since it could be a hassle.
"Nah, I bet your pokemon would be fine compared to mine. Mine simply love to tick me off a lot." He kind of rubbed the back of his head, embarrassed about his own sandshrew and the experiences they shared thus far. "Nothing wrong, really. Just that sandshrew of mine. Kind of a princess, so she never really did obey me like any other pokemon." The more he thought of it, the more annoyed he got. "So I apologize for that outburst of mine. And yes, please continue. Its interesting." He said as he looked through his pokedex about the different kinds of pokemon. It was an interesting thing to learn, especially considering that he was going to be a breeder.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra nodded as he commented that it said a lot about her. "What-" She was about to ask what exactly it said, but he suddenly asked why she had that 'issue'. Wait, why was it suddenly an issue? She regarded it as a problem a couple times, especially when she was lying or if she heard something sexual, but if it made other people laugh it was at least sort of good. "Why is it suddenly an issue? But uh.. I don't think about it when I do it." She told him with a shrug. He continued to speak, and his attempt at a funny face caused her lips to part in a snicker as she kept a hand over her mouth. "Yeah... sometimes I'm jealous of people like you." She conceded.
She leaned back in her seat, pulling down her shirt to make sure it wasn't hiking up as he began to reply to her remark. "Depends on the personality." She replied with a grin as he continued about his Sandshrew. "Ooh, can you let her out? I wanna see how she acts. And I forgive you." She requested and apologized and ignored his request to continue, 'cause who cared about her own pokemon when this guy had a Sandshrew that acted like a princess? She assumed that'd be pretty adorable as a personality.

OOC: Novelist is repeatable with multiple threads, right? Tristan eyed Sierra, wondering what has gotten into her. He was only curious about the hat thing. What was she referring to? "Well its not an issue, really. Just curious about the hat and how you reacted, haha." He looked at Sierra, a little surprised about her jealousy towards people like him. "Why are you jealous of people like me? I don't really have anything to be jealous for." Honestly, he didn't think Sierra's emotional thing was not a problem at all. It was pretty amusing and definitely that much of a hassle to have. Well, at least to some people that are not like Tristan. To Tristan, that may be an annoying trait to have. Tristan adjusted his hood so it wouldn't annoy his neck as he leaned back. Let out the sandshrew? Suddenly, Tristan leaned forward and looked at Sierra. "What, let her out? I really don't want to. Its bad enough she disobeys me." His words reflected nothing when Shina, the sandshrew, released herself out. She stretched herself out, as she looked around. Tristan only sighed in displeasure as now, he had to deal with her. Why do his Pokémon let themselves out is hard to say. <Eeww, what's this place? What's that? Why are we here?> He said, pointing to the dirty buildings of Verona City. <What did you bring me here for? You know how much I hate dirty you stupid trainer. Is this place for food? I'm pretty hungry. Please fetch me some food.> Shina said as she stood there, as if she were expecting something. Suddenly, her attention was turned to Sierra, her eyes wandering up and down her body. <And who's this? I don't like it when I have guests unannounced. Let alone someone like her.> Tristan then looked at Sierra. "SEe what I mean?"Lol annoying Tristan.

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra realized that she'd overanalyzed what he said, a rarity when it came to her. "Oh, really?" She repeated, feeling sort of dumb after she'd essentially went off on a tangent. Lips tugged upward in a small grin at his confusion about her jealousy. "Well, 'cause sometimes having obvious faces is inconvenient." She replied before lifting up her forgotten drink and taking a sip from it. Bleh, watery, but still sort of good. It was iced, after all.
"Aww, al-" Sierra was about to say, but suddenly his Sandshrew appeared anyway as if Sierra had just stepped on an invisible button. Her eyes widened like a cat's as if she just glimpsed sight of a ball of yarn. But her infatuation decreased a little as the rodent went on a tirade about the cafe and her hunger. Sierra smiled in a welcoming manner at the shrew as she looked her up and down, but let out a laugh when she insulted her. "I see. I see." She replied to him, but she wasn't mad. Smiling at the shrew, she replied, "You could've just asked me directly, silly. I'm Sierra."
<Someone woke up on the wrong side of the pokeball.> Seryl commented with a wry grin at the sassy Sandshrew, now in a sitting position on the ground.

Tristan raised an eyebrow when Sierra said something about obvious faces. It doesn't seem like too much of a hassle at times, but he at least saw her point. "Well, that means it could also be an annoyance not to have an obvious face. Had that issue myself." He said, twiddling his thumbs as he recalled experiences with his father. Many moments when his face said he didn't care got him in trouble with his own father. Nothing wrong, Tristan just seemed that way out of nature. Eh, nothing he can do now. Shina, however, was busy with her own troubles of the first world, such as her hunger, the atmosphere, how pretty she looked, how important she is. Ugh, this drove Tristan mad sometimes. "See why I don't really let her out?" He dropped down on the table, like a puppy after an exhausting day. <Sierra, huh? Well, it is a pleasure to meet you, despite your common and unintelligent look. I am Shina. Hope you are happy when I grace you with my presence.> She said, articulating so she could sound smarter. <Uh. Well excuse me, young man. But that's certainly not a tone to use to someone as smart as I. But...yes, the pokeball was quite uncomfortable.> Shina said as he looked down at Seryl. daaaaahh...

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra smiled at Tristan's rebuttal, shrugging as she began to see his point. "True." She agreed tersely, taking another sip of her iced drink.
"I guess so.[" Sierra laughed in his direction, then returned her curious gaze towards Shina again as she greeted her. She raised an eyebrow at the insult that she looked common and unintelligent. Well, she had to admit that sometimes she looked unintelligent, but common? She went out of her way to look uncommon, actually. "Pffft." She leaned back in her seat, clearly amused with the pokemon. "Well, there was one compliment in there." She said to Tristan with a slight grin.
Seryl couldn't help but smile slightly when the arrogant shrewess called herself smart, implying that she was smarter than him. <Something tells me you're not as smart as you say you are.> He said off handedly, whistling as he looked away from her. Not many females were that rude, especially not ones he'd met.

That's when he turned to Shina, that so called lovely princess of his team. How she always gave Tristan such a run with his money. He quietly leaned back on his seat as he took a sip of his ice water. Cool and refreshing, unlike this sandshrew of his. Suddenly he turned to Sierra, who was....grinning? Why was she grinning at an insult? That's when the idea came to his head as he looked at Shina, smiling as he prepared for his plan.
Shina looked at Sierra, clearly confused and distraught at her rebuttal. <And I see you're one to love taking insults, I take it. I guess someone as unintelligent as you can't differentiate an insult from a compliment.> "On the contrary, that was quite a compliment. I mean, unintelligent is quite the buzz today." Shina raised an eyebrow at her trainer, clearly confused as to what he was saying. Nevertheless, she shrugged it off. <Well, I don't meddle with other people's affair. But if that is what it is, that you are QUITE unintelligent. You must say that I am quite intelligent and that's why you keep me on your team" "Why yes, I do say that I am intelligent" Tristan looked at Sierra, winking at her and giving her a smile.
Shina looked at Seryl, quite offended by his comments. <Well excuse me, Sir. I don't try to be rude when I'm around others.> "Oh ya, SO unrude." Tristan said, sarcasm laced all over that sentence. |

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n "What gives you that idea?" Sierra retorted at Shina; the one compliment she was referring to was that it was a pleasure to meet her, but it seemed that the Sandshrew wasn't getting it. Tristan butted in just then with the idea that unintelligent was something good. She remained silent, confused about what Tristan was doing even after he smiled at her. She was fine with being insulted, but being misunderstood was another thing.
She gave half a laugh at Tristan's smile and wink. At least he seemed to be having fun arguing with his own pokemon. She knew she had fun doing that with her own - especially Seryl, who often had some silly thing to say when she did. "Shina, do you have any friends?" She inquired, wanting to take a stab at her confidence. Vengeance, oh yeah.
Seryl laughed at her reply, his eyes wide with disbelief. <You kidding? All I've seen from you is rudeness. Didn't you ever get disciplined as a tyke?> He retorted to her, frustrated that she couldn't see her own bare faults. Tristan was right; the pokemon really was annoying, and he could barely believe that he was keeping her in his team if she treated everyone like this.

How could she not even understand what she was saying? How dumb could this Sierra girl be? <Well, simply put. That expression gives it all away, my dear. You really don't have much going on about you.> "That can go the same for you too." Tristan said, making a rebuttal easier for Sierra.
And it seemed as though the rebuttal was made too easy, especially when Sierra made that stab about Shina's friends. Come to think of it, did Shina even make friends with anyone on Tristan's team? Shina turned and glared straight at Sierra. She was obviously not pleased with what the girl said, especially to someone like her. <Young lady, I'll have you know, I have plenty of friends. Before and even after I was captured by that filthy trainer of mine. And to YOU, my dinosaur friend.> she said, looking down on Seryl. <I believe that I have been well refined by many an influence, especially my parents.>
Tristan looked down on Seryl. "Only reason I keep her is cuz of her strength. Nothing else, really." Tristan whispered, hoping to see if Seryl MAY understand. |

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra's lips curled upwards as sort of a defense against getting mad at the shrew despite how utterly bitchy she was being to her. She practically snorted at what Shina said in response to her inquiry and nearly answered had Tristan not rebutted in place of her, insulting his own Pokémon. That made her not want to reply anymore, realizing that it was sort of useless to try and argue with a creature that wouldn't accept any opinion but her own.
Sierra grinned vengefully at Shina's expression to her question about if she had friends. Her answer confirmed that she probably didn't. "Can your friends confirm that?" She replied, firing a challenging stare at the ground-type. She wanted to corner Shina just to see the look on her face when she realized that messing with her meant punishment. Seryl, too, was getting annoyed with the creature, even with his open-mindedness and tolerance. <Almost as well-refined as my ass.> He replied snarkily, snickering at his own joke. He and Sierra glanced at Tristan as he remarked that he only kept her for her strength. "I don't think I'd do that to the rest of my team." Sierra answered him with a laugh as Tristan merely remained silent, imagining what it'd be like to have Shina as a team mate. Unngh.

From what many people could tell, she had another emotion apparent on her face: desperation. She looked left and right, wondering who to reply to first: Sierra or Seryl. <W-well. Obviously....yes, I do have friends and they can prove to you that I am QUITE refined! And I don't have to prove anything to any of you!> She shouted, her voice obviously rising with her anger. "You say that, even after you said you'd get your "friends" over to prove that you were refined...how does that work?" Shina looked back at Tristan, then at Sierra. She seemed to gradually lose her cool, until she looked away and stood up straight. <I believe I've spent enough time here. I'm going back to my pokeball.> And with that, she clicked her own pokeball and warped into it.
Tristan breathed a sigh of relief as he laid back in his chair. FINALLY, that was over. "Sorry about that. I didn't want to release her, but she came out on her own accord. But like I said, she does have her strengths....but other than that, I still don't know why I keep her around..." He then turned his attention to Sierra, wondering what Pokémon she had. "So how has Seryl been on your team? In fact, how's your team as a whole? Curious."
Suddenly, Tristan started to feel around his being, going through his backpack and body. He was fidgeting and witching until suddenly, he calmed down a little. He breathed a sigh of relief as he revealed what he was looking for: an egg. "Thought this thing would get damaged...glad it didn't." |

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra listened with increasing self-satisfaction as her words cut into Shina and gave her a more desperate expression. Her speech told her nothing, and it was obvious that she had no friends to prove it by - otherwise she would've just called them out right then. Tristan pitched in, too, amusing the girl even more as his final remark caused her to simply give up and retreat. Victory! Sierra grinned around the opening of the straw as she took a sip of her iced coffee and listened to Tristan's apology. "Yeah, she does seem like a handful..." She laughed. "Reminds me of that one girl in high school everyone was scared of." She mused, shaking her drink and hearing barely any liquid other than ice in there. Darn, that stuff was good. She set it on the table as he asked the question.
Leaning on the muscle of her hand, she replied, "Seryl's my starter pokemon and probably the strongest. Well.." She thought to herself for a moment. "..my Aron might be a biiit stronger." She shrugged. "They work together as a team, though, and they're all getting better. I think that's what matters." She concluded, folding her hands together and twiddling her thumbs just to entertain herself.
Tristan suddenly seemed anxious about something, rooting around in his backpack. It reminded Sierra of when she was in school and forgot her homework, which happened often. "What're you looking for?" She asked, just before he pulled out an egg and it became clear to her. "Oh." She giggled. "I've had a lot of those before. So stressful! I always feel like I'm gonna drop them." She sighed, then perked up a little as she took a better look at the round shell. "So, what kind is it?"
Seryl seemed happy with the return to normal human conversation. Sometimes talking to other pokemon was just so annoying. He was the type to listen and reflect.

It was certainly the first time Tristan has ever seen a fossil pokemon. He took a closer look, egg in hand as he gave a feel of its formerly tough hide. "This is the first time I've ever seen a pokemon like this before....sorry, I got distracted. Want to see all kinds of pokemon." He said as he sat down, egg in his lap. He looked, watching as the pidove and pidgey flew by. He liked to watch pokemon roam about. Too bad it will take a while. "In any case, sorry for having to deal with my sandshrew. She is quite a handful. At least we got her down....Aron? May I see it?" He said, smiling at their achievement made by getting rid of the Shina for the time being. He took his glass, drinking his iced water before setting it back down.
Tristan looked at his egg, patting it while keeping it on his lap. "Honestly, I don't know what kind of egg this is. From what I've learned, its a random egg." He felt the delicate shell of the egg, hoping that it wouldn't break. "Feel like a penguin. Want this thing to hatch so I can take care of it." |

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra looked at Seryl the same time Tristan did, smiling at the familiar sight of the dino. She'd seen him so many times that she wasn't really awed anymore, but she knew the sheer force of his power. She was always glad she had a toughie like him on her team. "Ah, no, it's fine." Sierra replied, waving away his concerns with a slight laugh. She leaned back in her seat again, glancing out the window only for a second until Tristan requested to see her Aron. Sierra blinked before the question really registered. "Yeah, sure." She replied with a spry smile before taking out the pokeball in question and releasing the small creature out onto the seat next to her.
He was small, so Sierra had to pick him up - with great effort, considering how heavy he was - and set him on her lap for Tristan to see him. "Phew. Yeah, so this is Keitan. Say hi~" She told the little Aron, fawning over how cute he looked. The strong steel type seemed slightly embarrassed at her treatment, but decided to be friendly nonetheless. <Uh, hey.> He greeted Tristan, putting on a pleasant expression. <Would you mind feeding me your pokedex? Sierra doesn't let me eat hers.> He continued mournfully, glancing at her purse for the familiar bulge of it. So tantalizing.
Sierra listened with interest as he described the egg. "Random egg... but eggs can't be random. Something had to have laid it." Sierra replied, although the idea of a truly random egg did appeal to her. How odd to consider such a thing. She watched absentmindedly as he felt the egg shell. "Aww, such a baby daddy." She said blatantly, grinning at how she blurted that out. She started to giggle in spite of herself at her own rudeness.
Seryl shook his head at her, though the edges of his jaws were curled slightly in amusement.

"Wow, that is a cool aron. Nice to meet you Keitan, I'm Tristan." He said, interested in the Aron's shine and sheen. Suddenly, a request to....feed his pokedex over? Well, no! It was his pokedex, even if he didn't use it often. He would still like to have it in order to learn about different kinds of Pokémon. "Sorry dude, but I can't feed you that. Uh.....have a fork." He said, tossing one of his forks over to Keitan. Even if the fork wasn't his, it was better than feeding his pokedex, right?
Tristan raised his eyebrow at Sierra's comment about his random egg. "Well, ya, I suppose you have a point. Then again, I don't even know what laid this egg. I just earned it as an achievement. Hope it hatches soon!" He said, patting the egg with his hand. He looked back at Sierra, suddenly blushing at the comment of him being a daddy. He suddenly laid back, the egg just resting on his lap. "Hey. No I-I'm a cool dad....ya, that's it....well also a breeder!" He said, raising his arms up in defense. Tristan suddenly turned his head towards the window, looking out to see what was happening. He quickly turned back at Sierra. s i e r r a c a t a l y n n <Nice to meet you, too, Tristan.> Keitan returned the greeting with a bored grin. His paws tapped Sierra's fingers with anticipation as he waited for Tristan to present him with his pokedex- oh, just a fork. Keitan's face fell a bit. <Aww, ok.> He accepted the offering regardless, picking it up with his jaws and flipping it into the air to catch it in his mouth. A few noisy crunches and he swallowed, and the deed was done. Hopefully neither Sierra nor Tristan would have to pay for that. <I wish forks were as colorful as pokedexes. They'd taste better.> He remarked with a loud burp, causing Sierra to giggle at his audacity.
"Yeah, hope so." Sierra replied to his first remark with a small grin. Then, at his reaction to her 'baby daddy' comment, she just had to laugh. That blush was probably the only sign he showed of his inner emotions. "Ha!" She replied to his 'cool dad' reply - but then understood more when he continued that he was a breeder. "Ooh, I see. So the martial arts guy is also a breeder." She mused to herself, smiling.
She allowed Keitan to lay down on her lap, bearing his heavy weight with slight discomfort. "Um, yeah. I buy nails sometimes and feed them to him." She replied with amusement. "But he seems to like Pokedexes more." She shrugged.
"My team's awesome. They kick major butt!" She grinned, throwing a few fake punches in the air as if she was fighting off baddies.
Then she looked around at the table. They were pretty much all done, it seemed. Reaching over to her drink, she rattled the ice inside it and took a sip from the straw to extract the remaining iced coffee that lingered at the bottom. Now it was just amber ice. "So, we done?" She inquired, wondering if he felt like going or not.

Hopefully no one will know about who ate the fork. Looking left and right, Tristan kept his left hand on his egg and the other around his eating area, as if he were hiding the evidence somehow. His eyes darted left and right a little before the coast was clear until he leaned back a little, relaxed now that he was sure no one noticed. Though, honestly, it was kind of hard to notice a fork missing in the first place. He looked back at Keitan, reminded of a few pokemon he has. "Haha...well, too bad. I don't think there are multicolored forks out there"
Tristan looked at Sierra when she proclaimed the fact that he wanted to be a printer. He sighed a little, petting his egg in the process. "Well....I....ya...I'm a breeder....but I'm not a baby daddy." He laughed. At least he could admit it with some confidence....right? "My team is pretty good too....just....well, not likely to obey me.....nor do I care." He shrugged, still petting his egg.
"Well ya I guess we are done. But I do gotta take care of this egg.....and well....eh, where do you want to go?" |

s i e r r a c a t a l y n n Sierra cracked a grin at Tristan's comment. "Yeah, such a shame." She agreed with a sarcastic shrug, understanding his joke. Keitan seemed content, at least, with the fork plain. However, he was sort of embarrassed that she was saying so much about him. <I... like plain things too...> He added meekly, sighing.
"Pfft, you can't deny it." Sierra insisted. The baby daddy thing was really just a tease on her part, but it was practically the only thing about him that she could tease. He was so hidden that it was almost an ordeal trying to understand him better, but at least he was being more open than before. In fact, he even asked some of the questions. She shrugged at his remark about his team's disobedience. "Aww, well. Just smack them into shape! Then they'll listen." Sierra replied to him with a grin, rousing her own two pokemon slightly. Keitan and Seryl glanced at each other and gave knowing smiles. They knew Sierra wasn't like that --honestly, though, sometimes they couldn't tell when she was joking or not.
Sierra stood up from her seat at his compliance to go, grabbing her empty drink as she did and staring at it. "Hmm..." She thought to herself, silently deciding to buy a refill of iced coffee. And oh yeah, she had to pay. Hastily, she took out the amount of Pokedollars that was due and laid them on the table with a generous tip for the waitress for her humorous service. Then she glanced at Tristan, only subtly realizing that he'd spoken to her. "Hold that thought." She told him before advancing to the counter and ordering a refill of iced coffee. Her pokemon lingered around her shoes, following her like guards. "Thanks!" She told them once it was finished, taking the full cup and laying down more bills as payment.
Returning to Tristan, she took a liberating sip of coffee. What was his question again? She thought to herself, then remembered. "I don't know. Let's just walk, I guess. I need to go to the Pokemon Center really quick, actually." She informed him, just now remembering that she was having some pokemon healed in there. "Return, guys." She told her two pokemon, causing them to disappear into their respective pokeballs. "Let's go!" Fueled by a whole cup of coffee, it was obvious that she'd be extra energetic. She pushed the door open and exited the building, only pushing it once for Tristan to come through.

He seemed like a pretty cool pokemon to have on his team. "Not saying that you don't like plain things....hehe, don't worry." It was pretty cool meeting this pokemon. After all, these different kinds of pokemon were pretty cool to meet
"Yes....uh, I mean no! Not.....okay fine...but what of it?" He said, getting all defensive about it. If anything, he could at least keep his cool image. But what's the point now that his cover his blown and his face is red with embarrassment? Tristan sighed, smiling at Sierra a little. She seemed pretty cool and trustworthy. Maybe he could open up a little more. No real secrets to keep, really. Except his reputation, maybe. He chuckled a little about smacking his pokemon to shape. "Ya, right. Maybe I'll be a slave driver while i'm at it." He said, sarcasm laced through his sentence. He thought it was funny at the time.
Tristan nodded as he stood up, careful about not dropping his egg. He got himself a free meal and that was pretty cool. What a good way to continue a day right? He looked at Sierra, ordering iced coffee for herself. "Be careful now. Don't want you getting super hyper on me. Haha." The thoughts of Sierra getting really hyper crossed his mind, causing a smile to draw upon his face.
Tristan was taking a bit of time as he placed his egg in the new incubator that he got. If he wanted his egg to hatch, he may as well keep it safe in an incubator. As he placed the egg in, he quickly carried over, walking towards Sierra's direction and out the door. "Ya, sure. Lets go to hte pokemon center." He did his best to keep up with the hyperactive Sierra, hoping not to lose her. |
