The poison really wasn't doing him any favours. Every bit of health counted and Blaze just wanted his pokemon to maybe, hopefully beat the vulpix, even if she was exceptionally well trained. He heard Susumu command a Hex and felt quite pressured, unsure if his pokemon would be able to keep taking that powerful attack. The blue fire made Goku tense up, bracing himself for the hit. The light screen that I TROLOLOLOLO FORGOT ABOUT saved him, dissipating upon contact with the hex. His health was low, though, and next time he wouldn't have a shield to block the attack for him. Blaze had activated for him, the ability raising the fire inside of the fighting type. The trainer thought that it was now or never, to ignore the type disadvantage and to just charge forward. " Leer and Flame Wheel!" With the poison making him all the more vulnerable, Goku leered at the vulpix, hoping to catch it a bit off guard before surrounding himself with fire and charging forward. It was a close match between fire types alright, but sadly the Flame Wheel wasn't a strong enough move to knock this Vulpix out. Hot sun simmering over them all made resistances to fire type moves hard to ignore, and with the additional stat boosts that the Monferno currently had, that Flame Wheel was something to fear. "Ha. Guess it's obvious that he has a Dream World ability." Susumu commented at the sight of a fire type move, since the common Vulpix typically had the Flash Fire ability. It was nearly enough to knock out his Vulpix, but Masaaki was hanging in there with tears threatening to crawl out of his eyes. <Pain sucks...> He couldn't help but whimper as he spoke, feeling his body throb with the intense heat that his body failed to soak up. What a shame of a trait to lose. Deciding to use a fire move of his own, now that he was a bit calmer when the Taunt wore off, he fired off a Flame Burst in an attempt to finish off the Monferno. Shame he'd be easy to knock out in the next turn.Weather is perma-sun! Susumu's comment made him smirk a little bit. He did not study fire pokemon for nothing -- they were his specialty and he prided himself in knowing about them quite well. The vulpix's ability had come to light the moment it appeared on the field -- he had heard of rare vulpix able to summon the sun without any effort, and his subordinate's pokemon definitely showed such potential. Goku wasn't able to withstand the fire attack, already weakened from all his previous attacks. The monferno fainted from the blow and out came Mothra. The Volcarona looked around, spotted the vulpix, and wanted to do nothing but to return to her pokeball again. " You can do it, Mothra -- it's been weakened! Light screen and Psychic!" Though the larger pokemon did not want to do anything of the sort, she let out a barrier to protect herself against anything that might hurt her. She then flew around, staying far away from the vulpix, before releasing the psychic waves. ::monferno:: FAINTED ( monferno +1 | vulpix +1 )

Blaze was definitely right about Mothra being able to handle Masaaki, especially when it only took one Psychic attack to knock him out. With the fainted Vulpix on the ground, completely dizzy and delirious from the mind boggling move, Susumu had to make a choice on this one. What should he send out next? He was growing limited on his options surprisingly fast, but he did have a pretty strong guy that could probably do something to this big moth. Returning Masaaki into his Pokeball with a sympathetic smile, he sent out the second Pokemon he ever owned with a grin. "Show'em what you got, Ken." There weren't many trainers that wanted to put up with a Geodude, but Susumu really liked the guy. Enough to tolerate him so he could grow into the Golem he was today. The bulky creature stared at Mothra, not making a move until he knew what was going on. <Gross. It sparkles.> He had to comment, especially with that pretty little Light Screen that hovered around her. "Stealth Rock, then Mega Punch." Toxic Spikes and Stealth Rock was completely evil, but Susumu felt like he had to prove something to the TD executive. He was getting stronger, not weaker. Ken stomped about; making rocks rise into the air as they harmlessly hovered around Mothra. She had more things to worry about anyways, especially with his clumsy fist attempting to make a move on her body. Ken definitely wasn't used to his new body just yet, so this was going to be a challenge.

Blaze waited anxiously to see what other Pokémon Susumu had. Would it be something he had an advantage against or would he have to struggle against? To be honest, the whole battle had been a struggle and Blaze really had been pushed to his limit. A Golem came out, the large rocky Pokémon worrying the trainer quite a bit. And when the command of stealth rock left Susumu's lips, it was over for him. He supposed that this was the disadvantage of having his whole team be weak to such a hazard. He would just have to grit his teeth and pull through. " Burn him, follow it with a psychic!" Blaze called out, knowing that the golem would have to come closer if it wanted to hurt his Pokémon. If he could cut the pokemon's attack, Mothra would be much safer. Furthermore, these Pokémon had a high defense, but against non-physical attacks, they were much more vulnerable. He needed to take out this Pokémon as fast as possible. The punch had dealt quite a bit of damage on the volcarona, but Mothra quickly countered with a will-o-wisp. Between the attack and her heated body, she hoped to burn her opponent who had dared spread these floating spikes all over the place. Her movements were a bit more limited, but she managed to pull away a bit, flying higher up before using a psychic attack, the purple waves spreading over the field and concentrating toward the rock type. Stealth Rock was sort of a dick move against an all fire trainer, but Susumu was feeling competitive. If he could just stand up to Blaze a little, to show that he could hold his own, then there was a lot to be gained emotionally from it. It wasn't about winning or losing, but showing that he could do his shit. Golem against a Volcarona was probably not the most fair, but he was able to set up against Blaze's team for this long. Ken growled as the Will-O-Wisp did its thing against his hard rocky exterior, dealing damage as the Psychic attack spun him right round right round. <Sheesh!> He huffed, turning the force of that move into a Rock Polish to stabilize himself a little. His body glistened as the hard chunks of rock smoothed over from the shiny polishing he just gave himself, grinning all the while. Nothing like feeling like a pretty rock in the middle of a battle! "Go for a Magnitude." Susumu braced himself for the attack, but Ken seemed to be having trouble standing up. The Golem was a bit too smoothed over, standing up and slipping due to having a poor center of gravity. "Aw, Ken..." Seriously? Serious? Yes. This sucked.

Mothra was flying high up, looking back once in a while and begging for the u-turn attack. Blaze knew that it would do no good to her, especially since it would mean any other attempt to let her out would result in the stealth rocks ripping through her delicate wings. He just had to take as much advantage as he could and try to take the golem down before the poison got to her. She was spared this round, but that wasn't going to stay true. " Calm mind, and ember!" The sun was still shining brightly in the battlefield and it would strengthen the attack a little bit. Mothra powered herself up before flying down in order to get a decent shot. Her whole body shook, partially from the poison but mostly from the fear, as she tried to maneuver around the stealth rocks before letting out balls of fire onto the golem. Those Calm Minds were quickly becoming a problem as the boosted Ember rushed through Ken's rocky exterior. It hurt to feel the burn he currently had get agitated like that, especially with the power of the never-ending sun helping the process along. Despite the resistance he had to the fire type move, this was a pain in the rocky behind. Susumu could tell that this was going to be a problem, so they were going to have to try and knock this bug out before she got too strong. Ken was already burned, and if his other Pokemon were burned he'd only have more problems. "Time for a Smack Down." Ken was going to have to redeem himself for a missed turn, so they were going to use something that was Super Effective. The Golem grunted and shifted rocks around in his body, forming a dense rock that was as smooth as a ball in the palm on his hand. Body fixed and normal once more, he laughed as he launched the projectile towards the bug. Splat.

The rock hit her in midair, bringing her down onto the ground, her delicate appendages folding in all the wrong angles. Blaze returned her without a word, still unsure of how he was going to deal with a strong foe like that, along with the blasted stealth rocks all over the field. Finally, he released Ashes, the typhlosion exploding onto the field and promptly feeling the effects of both the toxic spikes and the stealth rock. She snarled angrily, wondering what the hell was wrong with his trainer, letting her in like this. " Ashes, no fooling around. Defense Curl and Solarbeam." Blaze was going to take full advantage of the sun, provided by Susumu's vulpix. His pokemon needed no further instruction, curling up into a ball as she took in the sunlight and shot it outwards, aiming the deadly beam at the golem. ::typhlosion:: ASHES | F ITEM » heat rock ABILITY » blaze LEER - SMOKESCREEN - SUNNY DAY - GYRO BALL - DEFENSE CURL - SOLAR BEAM - FLAME CHARGE - SWIFT [ def +1 ] { HEALTH YELLOW | POISONNED }

It was hardly a fair situation for Blaze's Volcarona, considering the kind of opponent she was up against. Not only did Ken manage to screw Mothra over, but with his Stealth Rocks combined with Muda's Toxic Spikes, Blaze's team was about to be devastated from the onslaught of traps. Susumu didn't think this far ahead, otherwise he probably would've sent out Ken as his first Pokemon. Seeing the Typlosion enter the field in such a weak condition really had his hopes up, not expecting it to be so effective against fire types. It was one thing to quickly look up an attack to see what it did, but seeing it in action for himself was something else entirely. <Not bad, eh?> Ken laughed, rubbing the bottom of his nose as he gloated. Sadly Ashes had the advantage this time around, blasting him into the ground with a painful looking Solarbeam to the chest. Great. Susumu had little choice but to return the Golem back into his Pokeball, shaking his head a little at how easily the giant ball of rocks was knocked out. They were both down to their last few Pokemon, so Susumu figured he had to make it count. Sending out Jenna, after seeing that Solarbeam, seemed like a terrible idea. Instead he sent out his other fire type, which burst onto the field with a golden sheen. <Bitch.> She cursed in greeting, staring down the Typlosion through her useless sunglasses. "Go with a Fire Spin." Seeing that she already cursed, they would be fine with adding to the Typlosion's poison with a bit of fire added to it. She held in her breath and puffed out a ring of fire from her shell, letting out a bit of smoke in the process as it slithered towards Ashes.

At least she had managed to take down the golem with the powerful solarbeam, but it seemed he wouldn't have the same luck with this next one. The small fire type was quite adorable, the skin a bright yellow and emitting a little shine. There was a slight feeling of jealousy Blaze did his best to ignore, but the way the Pokémon looked at the world through those glasses made it almost comical. Ashes didn't seem to share his view, the Pokémon snarling and trying to look more terrifying, the fire on her neck expanding for a few moments as she stood on her kind legs. A ring of fire was laid around her, and even through she was a fire type, it would do nothing but compound to the damage the poison was dealing her. These small, passive hits were going to be the end of him. Blaze had never been very fond of them but it really might be time for him to look them up. " Defense curl and swift!" he called out, the only thing that would deal a good amount of damage to the torkoal. Ashes stopped staring at the fire that was circling her, and curled up into a ball before shooting out bright stars at every angle, the sharp blades of energy homing in toward her opponent. Swift wasn't the strongest of attacks out there, but because it was reliable enough to always hit, trainers preferred using it at times. Susumu could just see that this probably wasn't one of those times, judging from how much damage the Typlosion was doing to his Torkoal. Resixionne growled as the bright stars smacked against her face, tilting her head as the rest of them flew around behind her, eventually curving around to hone in on her shell. She snorted at the attack, not particularly phased as smoke erupted from herr shell at the moment of impact. Basically it was a way of saying 'eff you' to the Typlosion for attacking her in the first place. "Should we end the battle after this round?" Susumu asked, giving Blaze a curious look to see how this was going to go. To be honest, using this many Pokemon was pretty exhausting. There was way too much to think about when it came to things like this. "Use Facade." Would it be strong enough to take out the Typlosion? Hard to say, but the poison and fire spin would keep adding up over time. Facade was just the strongest move she could use at this point. The shiny Torkoal's body changed colors as it checked for status effects. Not finding any, the move went for a boring white color as she rushed at the Typlosion with a physical strike. It would've been much more impressive if she was poisoned or paralyzed, but this would have to do.

Between the toxic and the attack, Blaze knew Ashes was going to faint, even if the typhlosion was doing her very best not to. She refused to go down, letting out a flurry of stars from her pelt with a swift as the agony from the toxic flowing through her veins did her in. The flames around her neck flickered on and off before her trainer returned her to her pokeball. Blaze didn't really want to do the math, but it seemed that he had lost. To Susumu. He did his best to hide his disappointment and embarrassment (because really, it was almost a running joke with the blond), keeping a relatively neutral face. " You battle well," he told the trainer. The battle was over, and Susumu hardly expected to be this successful at the start of the match. He honestly thought he would be crushed by Blaze's fire types, but it seemed as if he had enough strategy to make it through the match. Shame that he was considering PCing his Trubbish to never have such a long battle like this again, but it was ok. "Thanks, sir." He felt stiff and formal all of a sudden, as if he felt Blaze was going to take something out on him. It didn't happen, and both Pokemon ended up being recalled. Healing Pokemon would've been nice, but he was up for some tacos. Whales love tacos.
