Marlaey wandered into the trainer's lounge, looking around curiously. She had signed up at reception for a battle room already, now all she needed was someone to battle with! Ok, so all her Pokemon were on pretty low levels (1.5 - 5), but that just meant they needed some experience. And it was her responsibility to find that for them.
As usual Harper was walking beside her, taking in all the scents and sights the place had to offer. He was eager to battle nd quite looking forward to this new prospect.

Tyro made his way into the Trainer's Lounge. He looked around the room. He had two Pokemon he needed to train at this point. One was a newborn Pokemon, somebody he really needed to get stronger. The other was a Pokemon he just wanted to get up to speed with the rest of his team. As he arrived, he found a room for low-level Pokemon. Perfect. This was exactly what he needed. He had just used a Rare Candy to strengthen his newborn Pokemon so that he could be ready for battle almost immediately. "Excuse me." Tyro said as he stepped into the room. "You were looking for an opponent using lower-level Pokemon, right?" He took two Pokeballs off of his belt and held them on high. He opened them up in the palms of his hand, and out came two Pokemon, as would be expected. The first, on the left, was a Sandile, small with a swishing tail. Beside him appeared a very young-looking male Nidoran, stretching and yawning a bit as though he had just been awoken from a deep slumber. "...I have these two to train, if you wouldn't mind." ::Sandile:: Max; Lv. 7 Gender: Male Abilities: Intimidate, Moxie Moves: Leer, Rage, Bite, Rock Climb
::Nidoranm:: Zane; Lv. 2 Gender: Male Abilities: Poison Point, Rivalry Moves: Leer, Peck, Beat Up, Sucker Punch

When a young man approached her and asked her would she like to battle with him, Marlaey beamed. "Yes, I was, all of my Pokemon are quite young and need to be trained up", she said, watching as he released two pokemon from their pokeballs. A Sandile and a Nidoran. Harper sniffed at the air, creeping closer to both of them to see what they were like. "Your Pokemon look very well cared for", Marlaey commented with a genuine smile. "I would love to battle with them. Harper", she gestured at her Growlithe, "and Kismit will be the pokemon I use." As she spoke the Sentret's name she released her from her Pokeball. Kismit blinked and looked around, everyone was so tall! She scurried behind Marlaey, peering out from behind the girl's leg. Harper returned to his trainer's side and nudged the shy Sentret. There was no need to panic, it was just a friendly battle ahead! Tyro looked at the two Pokemon of chocie. "Heh, those are some pretty cool Pokemon you have there." he said, looking down at the Sentret and Growlithe. He hadn't seen a Growlithe since his days at the Pokemon Day Care. "So, do you want this to be a single or double battle?" he asked. He could do either of them, really. Although the more he thought about it, the more he figured that a single battle would be best. But, he decided to leave that up to his opponent. Max jumped side to side in anticipation, eagerly awaiting the start of the match. He really wanted a piece of one of those Pokemon at this point. Tyro saw this and he sighed a bit. "O-oh, uh...and I might want to warn you to be a bit careful of Max. He can be a bit...unpredictable. I'm still working on that." The Sandile would have jumped forward and attacked already had it not been for the fact that his opponent was not yet obvious to him. But he was waiting...and he licked his lips. He really wanted to sink his teeth into something soon. He also had to keep in mind that this would be his Nidoran's first battle, so he had to pay special attention to Zane. He needed to make sure he would come out of this battle alright. ::Sandile:: Max; Lv. 7 Excitedly awaiting battle

"Thank you! And I'm happy with a single battle. Considering the differences in level it might be more beneficial that way."Harper was wagging his tail, hunched over and ready to spring. He was just as excited as the Sandile. He wanted to get this party started! "No problem", Marlaey laughed, "It might make things more interesting! Shall we begin?" She looked down at Kismit, who was still clinging onto her. Kismit was a bashful little pokemon, but she had power. She just didn't know how to use it yet. Now would be as good a time as any to start teaching her not to be so frightened. "You're up Kismit, let's go!"Harper slumped dramatically, disappointed he wasn't going first. "Heh. I guess you have a point." he said with a smile. "Yeah, let's get this show on the road." He looked at the Pokemon the opposing Trainer started with. The Sentret, huh? Interesting. She looked like she could use some work. But that was only natural, considering that these two were obviously new to the whole Pokemon Training thing. But which one should he use against this Kismit? No, he knew he didn't have to think about it for too long. "Alright, Max, why don't you go ahead and-"But before he could even finish the sentence, the Sandile bounded forward. The simple call of his name was enough to spur him into action. But he didn't wait for a command either. he dashed forward as quickly as his four little legs could carry him. <Here comes MAXIE!~> he cried out loud. He jumped into the air and came down at Kismit, trying to clamp his jaws around the shy Sentret's shoulder. He was simply using his Bite attack at the moment. ::Sandile:: Max; Lv. 7 Rushing forward, using Bite on Kismit! Full strength Not willing to wait to get into the action

Marlaey grinned, eager to battle. The Sandile was too apparently because he lunged forwards using a Bite attack on Kismit. Instinct kicked in for the little Sentret and she curled up in a tight ball using Defense Curl. She was still injured by the Sandile's attack, but not by much. <Ouch!! Go Away!> she cried, terrified out of her wits. This was her first battle after all. Marlaey could see that her pokemon was in trouble. "Kismit, roll around and use Scratch!"The young Sentret hated the thought of facing the scary Sandile, but she didn't want to let her trainer down either. She rolled over, uncurling and pounced with a Scratch attack, aiming blindly at Max. Max was too busy having fun with his teeth firmly planted in his opponent's body. He wasn't going to be letting go anytime soon. He was even shaking his head forcefully, as though he were a dog with a new chew toy. His tail even had a slight, methodical swishing to it. But while he was busy trying to deal damage, he failed to notice the Sentret's actions. He hadn't noticed that she had turned herself into a ball to boost her Defense. And then it's only natural that he failed to notice her uncurling. As a result, the Scratch attack hit him firmly across the face, and he released his grip on Kismit. Max jumped away, tail wagging a bit. <What?~ Afraid of a little MAX POWER!?> he was practically jumping back and forth at this point. "Max, try to calm down a bit, alright?" he said with a slight smirk at the sight of that opening round. "This is their first battle, so-" but of course Max wasn't listening. The Sandile was already lowering himself, Leering at the Sentret. But this time, he didn't bother charging forward. He was too busy being jumpy and excited. But instead, he waited for the Sentret to make another move. He was rather impatient, so this window of opportunity probably wouldn't last for very long. ::Sandile:: Max; Lv. 7 Hit by Scratch! Used Leer on Kismit! Very strong

<Play fair play fair!>Kismit was not exactly having the greatest first battle experience ever. This Sandile was bloody crazy! Treating her like a chew toy and then mocking her! But what could she do?? She had no idea how to fight. She shivered nervously, looking up at her opponent to find him leering at her. Oh no.. Her ears flattened against her back and she cowered close to the ground. Notgoodnotgoodnotgood. "It's Kis's first battle too, she's just a but nervous, as I'm sure you can see", Marlaey replied. "Come on girl! Use you Iron Tail! Show him what you're made of!"Kismit heard and obeyed. Unfurling her tail she readied herself, attempting to take control of her fear. It sort of worked. With her tail glowing strongly she charged at Max, somersaulting to slam down her Iron Tail on him. <Take that!> she cried, hoping it had actually worked! Tyro nodded in response. That was, of course, understandable. If this really was Kismit's fist battle, then he had to say...she was doing far better than he had expected. Usually, a first battle is nothing more than a beating. But she wasn't faring too badly against Max, somebody who was out of his control. This girl he was battling against was clearly a good Trainer...she knew how to get what was necessary out of her Pokemon. Or at least, that's what his first impression of her was. Things just might turn out a bit interesting in this battle.... Max, who had been watching Kismit carefully, expected something a bit...different from the opponent. He expected the Sentret to rush at him like this, of course. But he expected to see one of those claws coming at him from the side. And so, he had prepared himself to dodge that and sink his teeth into his opponent like before. Unfortunately, he had not expected the powerful Iron Tail attack. The spinning Iron tail slammed him hard on his back, smashing him hard into the ground with a loud crash sound. <Ergh....> he groaned. The attack felt like it had a little bit of extra power to it for some reason.... The Sandile lay on his belly, limbs sprawled out on the ground beside him. He just felt like he'd been dealt a crushing blow, even though he still had plenty of fight left. He just couldn't bring himself to stand back up and make a move this turn. ::Sandile:: Max; Lv. 7 Hit by Iron Tail! {Critical Hit! Defense is lowered!} Stunned from the heavy blow and doesn't attack

Kismit rolled out of her attack (yes, she was fond of rolling) and jumped up, ready for another onslaught. But Max wasn't there to deliver it. Where was he? Had she won?! Bouncing up and down she cheered for herself, thinking that she'd beaten the Sandile. It wasn't until she caught the confused look on Marlaey's face that she stopped. "What are you doing Kis? You've just stunned him! You gotta get back in there!"If she could have, Kismit would've blushed red with embarrassment. How humiliating! She just wanted to curl up into a ball and hide. So she did so. Marlaey facepalmed herself. Her Sentret was being absolutely ridiculous now. For a moment they had been doing well, but now? Not so much. And just when they could take advantage too! Tyro couldn't help but smile to himself as he saw what the Sentret was doing. In all honesty, he couldn't really blame her. After all, she was still a beginner when it came to a battle. But he still couldn't help but find her reaction kind of amusing, regardless of the situation. "Well, that's where practice makes perfect, I suppose." Tyro said with a slight hint of amusement in his tone. This was certainly turning into quite an interesting performance. Max was stunned for quite a bit until he managed to get back to his feet and shake himself off. Thankfully he hadn't been attacked. <Urf....> he groaned, still slightly dazed from the power of the Iron Tail. <Lucky shot.> he groaned. But he quickly shook himself off and saw that his opponent was curled up in a ball. Heheh! This was his chance.~ He quickly gathered his wits and charged at the curled up Sentret. He tried to ram hard into her using his Rage attack. It wasn't strong now, but if he let the hits he would take fuel it, it could become a strong asset to this battle. ::Sandile:: Max; Lv. 7 Hit by nothing Used Rage on Kismit! Marlaey grinned apologetically, "Sorry about this. It so unorthodox!" But she had to admit she was thoroughly enjoying the battle, it was something she'd been looking forward to for a while now. That Sandile was very strong, even if he was a bit wild. She was sure Tyro would turn him into a terrific fighter. She looked at her own pokemon. A cute ball of fuzz. She laughed, what a contrast! Oh well, better get back to working with that! "Look out Kismit! Dodge and use your Scratch attack!"But Kismit's ears were full of her tail and Marlaey's instructions were muffled. She pulled her head up, looking about. <S-sorry, what?> And then there was darkness. A sudden avalanche must have come out of nowhere and hit her full force in the face because she reeled backwards, blinded by the rage attack. Ouch. Shaking herself and wincing she glared at the Sandile. That bloody hurt! She pushed herself up onto her tail and lunged forward from a height aiming to hit Max with Scratch. Max was now jumping back and forth with the same excitement he'd shown at the beginning of this match. He was ready to do this. He had his opponent right where he wanted her now. It was only a matter of time before he had her submitting. But unfortunately, he was growing a bit too excited for his own good. He failed to watch Kismit closely enough to determine whether or not she was going to counter. And counter she did. With a strong Scratch attack. He felt the claws rake the side of his face and he stumbled to the side. His weakened Defense from that previous Iron Tail started to work its magic. But he wasn't going to just take that laying down! No way! He was starting to get angry from these strong hits. And he used that anger to fuel his next attack. <Oooh, you're going to pay for that!> he shouted in a crazed tone. He then lunged forward, trying to ram into Kismit yet again with another Rage attack. This one would be slightly stronger than the previous, but not really enough to make a bit difference. ::Sandile:: Max; Lv. 7 Hit by Scratch! Used Rage on Kismit! Strong {DEF: -1}

Kismit was pleased that her attack had hit home and had done some damage, but she was starting to feel a little tired. She may have been naturally quick on her feet, but her energy did have a limit, especially considering how young she was. But this was her first match and she was determined to give it her all. She readied herself for Max's next attack, but when he came lunging towards her she grew frightened. Stumbling backwards and crying out with shock and pain she was hit by his Rage attack once more. Feeling too weak to attack again, Kismit curled up, wishing this battle were over! Max was more than pleased to see that his opponent had managed to get struck by his attack. But when he saw her curl up defensively without bothering to mount a counter-assault, his excitement seemed to dim a little bit. His bouncing slowed until he finally just stood there, with a cocked head. He looked on. He wanted to wait for her. It wasn't really fun chewing on a ball of fur for nothing, after all. He enjoyed seeing their reactions. It was the best part! So instead, he just stood there, Leering at the curled up Kismit. Tyro sighed. Well, at least this was a good way to keep things moving. Maybe fighting with Max was for the best after all. Sure, he was a bit on the...crazy side, but it was better than overpowering the poor Sentret with another of his Pokemon. "Max, try to take it a bit easier on the little one." he said. "This is just for training, alright?" Max showed no signs of understanding, but Tyro hadn't expected one. Well, he supposed they'd find out if he was going to obey one way or another. ::Sandile:: Max; Lv. 7 Hit by nothing! Used Leer on Kismit! Strong {DEF: -1}

Marlaey bit her lip nervously, "Be careful Kismit!", she called. Kismit uncurled a little when she heard her trainer's voice. Max wasn't attacking her just yet, but he was leering at her and it made her frightened. But she had to do something, she couldn't she flee. This wasn't like when she lived in the forest, this was a battle, not just a fight. She picked herself up and ran towards the Sandile, claws extended to land a Scratch attack on him again. Tyro watched the battle carefully. This Kismit wasn't terrible at battling, it seemed. She just lacked the necessary confidence. But that would come in time and effort, he supposed. Right now, there was only one thing they could focus on...the current battle. Max watched carefully as the Sentret peeked out at him during his Leer move. He readied himself. Was she about to do something? He couldn't wait to see what it was! She got up and started to charge...and he braced himself for something good. But what he felt wasn't a powerful blow, but the decent strength of a Scratch attack. It was enough to hurt, especially due to his lowered Defense, but it was nothing he couldn't handle. He was just surprised at her move choice. Max stumbled backward from the power of the Scratch attack, but since it wasn't too big of a deal, he just kind of stood there...practically in awe at how easy this opponent seemed to be. He hadn't met somebody who would just timidly behave like this before. She was kind of an enigma to him; a puzzle that needed to be solved. And so, he kind of just stood there, trying to figure this Kismit out. He didn't even think to make a move. He just kind of stood there, as though he had been stunned from the Scratch attack. ::Sandile:: Max; Lv. 7 Hit by Scratch! Used nothing! Trying to "figure out" Kismit Medium strength {DEF: -1}

Marlaey was impressed with Tyro's Sandile, even if he was a little reckless. She was sure that with some good discipline and direction he would be able to fight off many a strong opponent. Kismit was nowhere near as sure of herself as Max, but she had her own strengths to master. Marlaey could see that her Sentret was struggling once more, this time over what to do next. Noticing that Max seemed a little confused and maybe dazed, Marlaey called to her pokemon, "This is your chance to use Iron Tail again Kis!"The Sentret frowned in concentration and whipped her glowing tail around to smack Max upside the face! The Sandile watched Kismit just kind of stand there. The two continued to look at each other as though in some kind of hypnotic staring contest. Except Kismit seemed to not be very good at this game, as she stopped about halfway through. Maybe they weren't playing anything after all. He watched her start to spin around, and he watched her tail pick up speed and start glowing. What was this all about? It was only too late when he remembered what had happened the last time she did this. He was suddenly struck across the face by the Iron Tail attack and was sent flying backward hard enough to crash into the wall. Max fell to the ground hard, letting out a small groan of pain. He shook his head and climbed his way back onto his feet. <Wow, that was a doozie....> he said, slowly getting back to his feet again. <You're pretty tough for such a fragile little thing.> he muttered. <But you're no match for my MAX POWER~> With that, he started running forward once more. This time, he jumped at Kismit and tried to ram into her with a Rage attack. ::Sandile:: Max; Lv. 7 Hit by Iron Tail! Used Rage on Kismit! Weak {DEF: -1}
