l i l l i a n g r o v e s Lillian was both surprised and embarrassed that he was able to hear it at all. Normally people just ignored whatever they couldn't hear, but did he have godmoddingly powerful ears, like her? She hoped not. She liked to keep her thoughts to herself. Nevertheless she blushed, placing one hand on her bosom to keep it from beating too fast. She gave him a pitying look at his response, but said nothing concerning the matter.
Lillian was one to tell white lies. Many white lies. She was a closed book, never fond of spilling her true thoughts. Which was why when Nathan asked what she thought, she tried to be as amiable as possible about it - even though she felt like she had a terrible time. "It was fun." She replied with a small, sort of forced smile towards him as they arrived at the hotel. "We're here." She said, opening the door and walking inside, expecting him to follow her. Once he came in, she'd get him a room and escape whatever kind of situation this was.

Nathan didn't know if Lillian was telling the truth or not. He was terrible at reading other people's emotions and now that he was drunk, he couldn't decide what she really thought. "Hmm. I don't think you're being honest. You had a terrible time with me, right? I'm sorry for causing troubles for you, I just tried to enjoy your company." Even in his drunken state, he knew he has done terrible things to her tonight. He was being a burden for this pretty girl and he didn't even realize it. If it weren't for her kindness, he would be passed out somewhere and probably froze to death or get attacked by a wild Pokémon.
"I have some things to do before I can rest. I know the way to this place now so I'll come back when I'm done." Honestly, he didn't have anything to do, but didn't want to trouble Lillian anymore. He decided to disappear in the darkness and roam around Verona for a while. His head felt like it was about to explode and his vision was becoming blurry too, but he kept going forward, trying to get away as soon as possible.

l i l l i a n g r o v e s Lillian was completely floored at how Nathan just tore the thoughts right out of her mind, but she tried not to let it show. She merely stared at him with remorse in her eyes that he was assuming such a thing about her. Yet she couldn't formulate anything to reassure him with. He really had been bad. Giving up on arguing with him, she replied, "It's fine." Now she was going to feel guilty about this. Note to herself, she should pretend everything was fun even when she was having a bad day. Yeah - then no one would feel bad except her, and she trusted herself not to succumb to her feelings.
She stared at him with apprehension as he suddenly said he had some things to do. She wasn't one to pry often, but he was drunk and going off somewhere and somehow she was certain that he'd get himself lost. "What things?" She inquired, taking a step to follow him.
