Her eyes remained steadily fixated on the parcel currently being investigated by her growlithe, her crimson irises darkened with self doubt as she began to have thoughts of backing out of the event. This sort of get-together contrasted with her personality to the finest grain, polluting those around it with taintful ideas, wishful thinking, of something out of the norm, just for a moment. Now though. At this current time, the femme found herself standing in an almost rigid manner as she rose a hand to quickly grasp the delicate letter that came along with the package. "Chez Jones," The words played off her tongue into the silent air around her before falling into the abyss of blissful solitude. Vermilion optics scanned the elegant etchings of her name, to the more formal preachings that ran down the page, taking everything into a deep consideration, a desperate attempt to regain some composure with the whole idea of the sudden arranged predicament.
It was up until the mention of a chosen outfit, that Skye's mind had finally settled with the thought of meeting up with that special someone. Currently the rectangle box holding the newly found attire was underneath Kreios, who had managed to single-handedly tear open the corners in victory. "Kreios, shoo," Hushed out to become more stern, Skye hesitantly knelt down to acquire the parcel, laying it out in-front of her before gathering enough courage to open it up, only to gawk at the dress in a rather emotionless manner. What was she supposed to think? What was she supposed to do with it. Of course wear it, but who had come up with such an embarrassing thing. Let alone demeaning in the sense of the maid like embrace it held.
"Do not worry! This has been a proven success in fostering everlasting love." Easier said than done, just who did they partner her up with, some old freak with a maid fetish? A hiss escaped her parted lips as she clicked her tongue in aggravation, "Is this some sort of joke..." Said with-in a single whispered breath, Skye tugged at the frills and strings of the dress before sighing in defeat. If this was part of the Valentines Day Blind Date, than she might as well go along with it, if a memory was going to be horrid already, might as well go all out.
Oh how this dress made Skye feel like a pretty little princess. Willing to cater to all of her masters will and needs~ Could life get any better? The narrowing of her eyes expressed the deep-seeded hatred she already formed with the dress, finding it a bit too flashy for her tastes, though it didn't exactly clash with her over-all appearance much, since the colors contrasted in the same fashion, while drawing attention to her red irises, which would possibly make things less awkward as it would take away from what she was clad in. The bow at her neck was lightly tugged at to give a bit of breathing room to the nape of her neck before she read over the note once more. Everything seemed accounted for, the food/wine was provided, no pokemon allowed though that was fine, a minor road-bump but fine all the same, now just to get to Chez Jones.
The girl left without a word to her pokemon, just leaving them be as they were before ambling down the street, her hair shadowing over her face lightly to hide the faint blush that tinted her cheeks crimson due to the embarrassment of wearing such a dress in public. Her hands barely showed out of the long cuffs as they tugged at the dress trying to distract her mind from the situation at hand. And despite the fact that she made her way to Chez Jones, she found herself stopping in her step, shrinking back casually to take a moment to herself, to regain lost composure before entering.
Moving over to table nine Skye sat down on one of the chairs, smoothing out the dress that insisted on poofing up due to the amount of frills, ribbons and bows. Straightening her back and pulling her shoulders back to show good posture, she waited for the sound of a chair moving to signal her attention.[/style] | [atrb=vAlign,top][atrb=style,background-color: #C0C0C0;][STYLE=width: 100px; height: 100px; background-image: url(http://i39.tinypic.com/21297ph.png); border-radius: 5px; border: #282828 solid 10px; margin-top: -10px;] [/style] [STYLE=width: 100px; height: 100px; background-image: url(http://i39.tinypic.com/21297ph.png); border-radius: 5px; border: #282828 solid 10px; margin-top: 15px;] [/style][STYLE=width: 120px; font-family: verdana; font-size: 10px; line-height: 11px; color: #737678; padding: 0px 0px 10px 0px; text-align: justify;]

So far this seemed nothing like that ridiculous boat event with the creepy missions, glad that he wasn't being forced to accomplish some kind of lame challenge to win a prize. There weren't prizes in this, he assumed. It was all about the relationships, whether they stayed as friendships, or were successfully converted into something more. Regardless, he was nervous as he stopped outside of the entrance to Chef Jones' place. It was a fairly casual joint from what he recalled, but already he could see the changes inside of it as they revamped it for their lovey dovey Valentine's Day event. Kind of gross.
Susumu didn't particularly feel like dressing up when he knew where the place was. Cleaning up was a typical thing to do, so he was sure to go with something a bit different than the casual sweater with old worn out jeans. He walked in with a clean dark leather jacket, smooth and classy instead of something that one would expect from a punk. The shirt under it was a simple dark navy blue, nothing relatively special, but it was still better than his usual outfits. He didn't bother with accessories, since no one really paid attention to those, except for the cheap golden watch that decorated his right wrist. It was essential to be able to tell the time in case his date was late. It also made him look busy as he opened the doors, greeted with the faces of several stunned pairs as they met up with their partners.
Some even seemed upset because they ended up with the wrong gender. Oh no, what went wrong here? Something went terribly wrong. The blonde paled at the sight as he stared at several characters flipping out while others wore ridiculous costumes. So where the hell was his prize? Did he even really want to wait and see? No. At this point he was sure that there was going to be some kind of Spiderman waiting at his table, asking him 'how do I shot web' while preparing a can of silly string for the date of destruction. He wasn't sticking around for this one.
He started for the doors, but several waitresses blocked the entryway with their suspicious dark glares. "Stayyyy..." their voices harmonized like they were rehearsing their guest torture for a while now. Oddly enough, he didn't recognize any of them, despite being a regular here. Apparently Jones had hired the creepy staff today, inwardly crying twin waterfalls as he backed up. "O-Ok! I'm staying." He gulped, turning around and walking briskly through the set tables. Several were forever alone while others argued. The rare few seemed to actually be enjoying themselves, despite the nerve-wrecking atmosphere of the place.
Finally his table appeared, recognizing the 9 from the letter he received a few days ago. His poison for the evening? Maid treatment. He stared at Skype in horror as his hand fumbled for the chair, pulling it out for him to sit at. "U-Uh..." How was he even supposed to start this one? She kind of looked like one of the staff here, though a lot more dressed up. She looked relatively sane compared to the creepy waitresses that loomed around the corners, possibly stalkers that had their eyes on certain males in the room. "I'm guessing you don't work here." He had to make sure as he sat himself down, feeling incredibly nervous and out of place about this.

And despite feeling a sense of self satisfaction at watching the whole scene; since she doubted she'd react the same, just the fact that they had been obviously set up by the same dating cooperation nipped at her nerves. Had she always been this inpatient? Or was this simply the thrill of the unknown, taking wing and riding the currents of her lack of ease towards the pit of her stomach. It wasn't even the dress that burdened her mind now, it wasn't helping her confidence any, but no less the thing that nagged at her thoughts was that someone might not show up. Hell, perhaps it'd be better if she was stood up on this makeshift date, comparing her current mood to those upset around her, she seemed like she was getting the better end of the stick right now.
People came and went, each looking more suspicious than the last, holding fleetful glances that shifted to every table in-search for their desired companion. Skye merely stiffened at each stare towards her direction, inwardly dead and praying for no one to sit themselves opposite from herself, or well, those that seemed to be the runt out of a handful of fine-pickings. It wasn't until she heard the jagged noise of the chair skidding that her attention was drawn to the blonde boy, and if he didn't just look as awkward and out of place as she did. Words didn't need to be said to describe how she felt about the dress, her hands continued to pick and tug at the strings, having it be a nervous reaction to absentmindedly pull at whatever she was wearing. Especially since she could feel his horrified stare on herself. Great first impression, quite amazing.
A sigh departed from her mouth, as she quickly mustered up all she could to show a light apologetic lop-sided smile, showing her equal amount of discomfort with the situation. Was it possible to feel so backed into a corner, when so much open space was around? Of course, it barely helped that the keen hungry eyes of the maids watched in awe, feasting upon what seemed to be the progressing tension in the atmosphere as couples remained in their awkward state, maybe they just wanted to eat up a man of their very own. Charming right?
It was at this point Skyler actually took the time to divert her eyes to her wolf in sheep's clothing, and judging by the look of what seemed to be fear glint in his irises, she felt the sudden need to explain herself, yet bit her tongue to refrain for now. Its not that his appearance was unruly, the brute was fine, but it didn't match his given stance and atmosphere. He was clad in more of a rebellious vibe, though released a more introverted one instead. Though his inquiry broke her concentration. "Ah no, I don't think i'd survive in this kind of environment on a daily basis," Her words flowed rather smoothly in contrast to her obvious unease, her aura giving off a backed-in-the-corner vibe despite her desperate attempts to shake that emotion off. "The letter stated that I was expected to wear this, i'm sort of out of my element with it." Oh how the tension remained un-cut.
Mind racing for a moment, Skyler forced her body to relax and soften her muscles as to not look so rigid. The awkward smile Skyler relieved Susumu a bit, as if she felt somehow guilty or embarrassed about wearing such a frilly outfit. It managed to make her seem a little more normal, though he still had many questions at why she was wearing such a thing. To a date, nonetheless. 'Maybe she's trolling.' The thought was funny, but she really didn't strike him as the type to pull off something like this. Besides, if she was trolling then would she really seem so reluctant to wear something like this?
What she said was completely true though, giving her a sympathetic smile as he made himself a little more comfortable in his chair. From his body language it was easy to see that he was nervous; not really leaning towards her, hands held together as if he was tentative to touch things on the table, and he didn't seem the most out-going. Yet. It was still a really odd situation and he had to feel everything out before getting into it. Last time he ended up messing around with this place completely, acting like a drug addict with some sarcastic chick that didn't seem to give a shit about who came to her table. Now that was fun.
This seemed a little more serious though, so he wasn't going to be able to try that again without feeling like a moron. "The letter...?" Susumu blinked and wondered if he messed up somehow, taking out his own invitation and reading it over to make sure he didn't screw up. "I guess they decided to spare me for once." He had to chuckle about this one, completely relieved that he wasn't the one in the frilly maid dress. It was so frilly! She looked cold in it too, making him wonder if she'd be alright wearing that.
Name time. 'Skyler?' He had to repeat her name a few times in his head to make sure it would stick for their time together. He'd manage to remember it for now, especially when he was making an effort here, but it was hard to say if he'd remember it after this. "I'm Shamu, like the whale." It was his usual introducing, giving her a weak grin as he struggled to think of a way to kill this tension. "I guess it could be worse than a maid outfit." Susumu looked at some of the other customers in the area, smirking at a guy that was trapped in a neko slave outfit while the girl across from him laughed her ass off. "Cat slave would probably be a worse first impression." He chuckled as he watched the scene, and then looked at her to see if she'd go along with this topic.

It was at least nice that he could see that much to feel perhaps sorry for her. Any sort of reaction was better than the awkward ones that were currently going on. Though, Skye had managed to regain whatever composure she had lost and showed it by straightening her back a bit and running a hand through-out her hair to ruffle it up lightly, playing off an at ease aura to try and cut the momentary tension. Angling her head to the side as he questioned his own letter, Skye allowed her gaze to follow his to his letter before snickering in satisfaction for him. "I feel like I got the short stick, I expected someone in an out-fit as well, than you sit down and completely opted that out," Skye paused for a moment to think. "Not that I mind, you look fine," Compliments were a wonderful way to ease the stress in others, it was in the imaginary hand-book for meeting new people, gave them a sense of security with themselves or the likes. Especially since he chuckled after his own words, and out of a knee-jerk reaction Skye smiled and let out a light laugh herself. "We can't all be spared, consider yourself lucky."
"Shamu," His name was silently murmured out of her lips, carefully spoken as to not mess up on it and to clarify it in her own mind. Easy enough, and the whale part gained a raise of the eyebrow and a carefree smirk, that was nice. "That just might be the most amazing thing i've ever heard, i'm jealous of you." A light-hearted reply to him being named after a whale, it just didn't get any better than that these days, mostly when it came to ice-breakers it seemed.
Snickering in mock horror, Skye forced her own nervousness to mellow out as she gave him a playfully accusing glare. "Are you saying that dressing up as a maid isn't an amazing first impression? Here I was thinking I had you hooked," Here words halted in her throat for a moment as she glanced over at the neko man, and her face scrunched up in horror, my god, that was just horrible. "Damn, that could have been you."
That was when the waiters descended from their lairs in the back, eyes searching feverishly across the room as they hunted out their prey. A female and male waiter ambled quickly over to Shamu and Skye's table, eyes wide in appreciation at their appearances. "Would you like anything?" |
[/i] One of them inquired as the other seemed to fluently turn to stand behind Shamu. Tenderly brushing his hand along the length of Shamu's arm as he did so. "I have the wine for the two,"[/i] His voice rang in a chime-like state as he leaned forward, almost over Shamu's shoulder as he reached for the glasses on the table to fill with the wine. As he went to grasp the glass, he hit it with his hand, making the empty glass fall onto Shamu's lap. "Oops~ My bad, i'm oh so clumsy, silly me."[/i] Giggling to himself as he reached for the cup without a seconds notice, his hand rested on Shamu's inner thigh before taking the glass in his hand and setting it back on the table. "You got lucky with this one, i'm almost jealous. But just almost, he's a little bit tense."[/i] All the while, Skyler stared with wide eyes, nipping at her bottom lip to choke back the laughs she was dying to release. Every now and again her body would tremble in silent laugh, though she gave Shamu a restrained look, not exactly sure what to do, was he being sexually molested right now? What was SHE supposed to do. "Excuse me, but we are fine pouring it ourselves, just leave the bottle," Her voice came out in a rushed tone. "Also, I think Shamu would have preferred to simply get the glass on his own, try to be aware of your customers personal space." It was formal enough, though her voice laced with slight venom feeling like this was probably a tad bit too awkward for the already strained tension. Turning her gaze to the blonde-boy, the girl played a smile. "I feel like i'm the third-wheel to this blind-date," Joking at the expense of Shamu. It probably was a very good thing that Susumu wasn't the one that ended up in the maid outfit, already knowing ahead of time that he would have probably been speechless the entire time out of embarrassment. Luckily the fates were on his side for once and he could witness someone else having a fate that was worse than his. How rare. He didn't expect such a quick comment from her, eyes widening before he forced himself to settle down and act unfazed. "Heh, thanks." He wasn't used to compliments involving his appearance, so that was flatting despite the situation. He looked fine compared to say, the men roaming around in slave neko girl suits. He really did feel bad for whoever was trapped in an uncomfortable costume like that, realizing that he could've been the one in that situation pretty easily.
"Definitely lucky so far. I wouldn't put it past the owners if it got weirder somehow." He commented as he casually glanced over the menu resting on the table. What kind of crap did they even have here today? The usual menu was replaced with a new variety of items with extremely disgusting names. Why was the first thing he noticed called Hubby Wubby Honey Glazed Steak (Of Love!)?! Terrible names! All of these! Since he was only casually looking at the menu, he could keep talking to Skyler without hiding behind the menu. As nervous as he was, he was going to try and be natural about this.
The atmosphere for this kind of place was definitely odd, and he didn't even know what was going to happen from all of this, but hey free food. "Hahaha, really?" He gave her a skeptical look when she commented on his nickname, since he didn't feel like going for the formal one in this kind of place. Usually people thought it was odd, but it was hilarious in a way. "Oh, totally hooked." He laughed, perhaps a bit too easily since nerves were doing jumping jacks inside of him. Oh well, as long as they could both calm down and feel natural about this then it would work out.
Then the incredibly awkward came along when the waiters decided that it was time to get involved. Susumu expected them to come along anyways, with the usual routine of asking for drinks then ditching them completely, only coming back 10 minutes later then asking if they decided on food yet. Typical. Susumu didn't sense anything wrong with this as he glanced up at them, preparing to order something casual like he was trained to do in his bachelorhood, but then they mentioned the wine. That's right, this was friggin’ fancy. Flinching as the glass toppled over onto his lap, Susumu made a motion to pick it up without thinking it through. The creepy waiter managed to beat him to it, perhaps he was a bit eager to touch him there, earning a completely weirded out from the teenager during this abuse.
'What? Wait. What? Why is he -- oh god, do I want to know? No I don't. But whyyy?' His mind was racing with complaints as the glass was now in its usual spot. He had no idea how much of it Skyler witnessed, but it was clear from his twitching left eye that not all was well on his side of the table. "Ha, I wonder why." He commented quietly when the waiter mentioned how tense he was. Maybe if he wasn't being felt up this wouldn't be so terrible to endure. One look at Skyler said that she saw everything going on, making his face slightly flush in embarrassment at this treatment. Ugh, he could only sigh and endure it until this guy left. Even now, his thigh was being touched and making him wish he could move away from the waiter's grip in some way. Nope, they weren't in a booth. It was a very tiny chair and table that must've been made to torture guests like them.
Thankfully Skyler had more sense about the situation than he did, though that last comment was not necessary. Pffft, he could’ve handled that on his own. The power of ignoring others was simply amazing! It just didn't have time to kick in yet, that's all. "Three wheels out of four, you mean?" Saying this a bit slyly as he looked behind Skyler, one little look there would've showed that the female waiter was planning on making a move.
At least the male one had backed off, feeling as if Skyler could kick his ass despite the frilly maid outfit. "Why, so sorry. Please ignore him. He's just sad about not being able to participate in the event." The waitress said this as if it was meant to be apologetic, but her eyes were on Skyler as if she was meant to be her prey. From the hand she tried resting on the girl's shoulder to calm her tits, Susumu nearly coughed out a laugh when he saw Skyler going through the same thing. "We're just...in search of a connection ourselves. Can't help but to be envious of you two." The female's ruby red eyes narrowed seductively as she tried playing with a strand of Skyler's hair, definitely coming onto her now.
"Hey, touching Skyler isn't getting our wine here faster." Susumu teased, trying to snap the crew into doing their jobs once more. The male waiter was on that at least, gently filling wine into their glasses until the deep purple liquid nearly touched the rims of the glass. "Have you decided on what you want to order?" The waiter asked formally with the female returning faithfully to his side, in case she could somehow be of assistance.

His pupils enlarged and as Skye easily held his gaze she found herself purposely diverting her eyes someplace else, catching her unease before it fully formed back into the awkward aura, aw composure was such a wonderful thing. "You know the owners? I've personally never been here, so i'm out of my element for the most part," Slight curiosity tweaked at her mind, a rough shield urging to be brought up whenever she caught a waitress in her perceptual vision after being 'warned' that it might get weirder. Just what she needed.
Oh, the food. The menu. All good places to start with this blind-date, the vermilion eyed girl just about forgot about that part entirely if it hadn't been for Shamu's line of sight shifting towards the written text. Hm, what was she craving exactly? Raising a hand to graze it along the corner of the menu, grasping it tenderly Skye let her gaze fall down the laminated sheet, a slight scowl of horror masking her discomfort at the titles of each individual meal. 'Oh, this is fantastic," Sarcasm tinted her train of thought before she decided to stick with the safe route with the choices, salads; easy to eat, filling, not a hassle, had differing amounts of meat/lettuce depending on the type. So, that part was over, a quick decision so that her mind didn't linger too long.
His voice was the thing that called out for her attention, earning a shift in posture as she rose her optics to meet his. "Yes, completely. You're named after a whale, the most I can get with my name is Skylark. Doesn't get much better than an orca," A smile tugged at the edges of her mouth, light nipping with words never hurt anyone, it'd be fine since the atmosphere seemed to be dying down in restraint, finally getting somewhere. "Ah, see, the letter completely mentioned that this dress would work for hooking a date, I don't even know why I had any doubt in my mind, we are obviously dealing with professionals," Playful sarcasm laced her words as she released a laugh as he did as well, finding it almost contagious.
And then the wonderfully 'proper' waiters appeared, bringing with them a hurricane of corrupted emotions. They almost seemed like two cats in heat running at anything that moved, attractive yes? Then that one male waiter just toyed with Shamu like a rag-doll, no sense of personal space and if it didn't just take everything for Skye to not hide behind her hands and laugh all this away at Shamu's expense. Especially when his face tinted red to show his slight embarrassment, Skye respectively adverted her own eyes away from the males face, trying not to make him feel anymore unease, give him his visual space to just wait out the 'storm'. She had to admit though, it was sort of adorable.
"Hm, what?" Eyes narrowing in slight confusion at Shamu's sudden cheeky comment, Skyler stiffened instinctively, immediately tilting her head back to look behind her at where the blonde boy was looking, only seeing the female waitress. What? What was wrong with that, she was just standing behind her? No harm done, right? So just like that, Skye relaxed and sighed out in content, she was fine, naive at best perhaps, but nothing was wrong. "Oh no, it's fine," The only thing that the female could let slip from her lips before cringing visible at the touch on her shoulder. Shit. This was just like what just happened with Shamu, damnit. "Yah...a connection, I wouldn't be too envious if I were you, you have so many, so many customers to attend too, you might be able to find someone someplace else," Skyler wasn't exactly subtle with her words, more so letting them come out in an almost defensive manner as she felt the gentle tug of her hair while it was being toyed with.
Just like an angel, Shamu's voice rang clear, oh gentle god how you blessed her so. "Can't forget about that wine," Mumbled out under her breath as the waitress ambled back to the male waiters side, Skyler shot a joking glare towards her blind-date, as if blaming him for what just happened to her due to karma for laughing at him, though flashed a lop-sided smile to show her thanks for him mentioning something at least that made the girl leave her alone, even if it was unintentional. "Yes, just a salad," Simple and safe for a starter at the least if she was still hungry afterwards, a finger pointed at the menu at the type she wanted. "Okay, and anything for you, Sir?" |

Susumu didn't know the owners personally, but it was true that he saw Chef Jones roaming around the place like a prized rooster with the blue ribbon. Sadly before he could go further into details, a certain little incident interrupted them completely. The waiter had at least learned to behave himself, earning a suspicious stare the entire time he served them wine and waited on their orders. Seeing Skyler relax at first only made his cheeky smile remain, eyes carefully locked on the waitress who decided to make her move. The moment Skyler realized that something was up was the moment he lost face, covering a hand to his mouth as he accidentally let loose a laugh. Oops. It was terrible especially since he just got through enduring the exact same thing, yet the situation did not lose its appeal.
The words that she was saying were so full of hints, sarcasm, and snide tones that Susumu found it even harder to stop laughing. Instead he let out a snort with a look to the side, at least sparing her from being seen in her touchy-feely moment with the staff. His small comment on the side seemed to send the waitress off of her prize, grinning as he looked back to see that almost accusing look Skyler was giving him. Yes, this was completely his fault. He repelled so many of the ladies that they ended up hitting on each other instead. It was time to order though, so he was forced to look at the menu and glance through everything. Geez, it all looked like it had somewhat decent stuff in each meal. The names were the only thing that really bothered him!
He froze when the waiter called him out and he was left flinching in his chair, staring deeply at the engraved names as he debated what the easiest thing to say was. The blonde prayed in his chair that no one had a tape recorder on hand, otherwise this would be devastating. "The...wubby grubby pasta." He had a grim face as he said that, as if it was some kind of foreign word to him. "And a side of...the elongated cheesy boat of bread." Pasta and Cheese filled bread. It sounded good enough for him, even if pasta could be messy. Oh well, he was new to this date thing. "Very well, sir. Good choice." The waiter said in a formal tone, scribbling it down on a notepad before leaving them be. The waitress stayed for a moment to give Skyler an eerie wink, which Susumu didn't happen to notice. "Aye aye aye..." He shook his head with a nervous chuckle, waiting patiently until the staff finally left them alone.
The wine looked good at least, but he wondered how much was actually acceptable to drink. This was definitely going to be something casual, so he made a mental note to himself to make sure he didn't go nuts. "Could be worse." Susumu started, smiling a little at his train of thought. "Could you imagine going to Burger King and having them hit on us? Sweaty, greasy pre-pubescent teens..." He laughed, knowing that it really could've been a lot worse. It was all a waiting game for their food now, but nothing was wrong with a little casual conversation.
