<I really don't see why you're using me now, of all times. You've never used me before.> A Deerling muttered to herself as she solemnly shook her head, sitting right outside of the battle room where guests could see her. She didn't have much of a need to go in where Milo and Susumu were sitting, feeling nothing but jealously as the pair ate sandwiches together. Why did the Meditite get all of the special treatment? She couldn't help but feel bitter and old, stubbornly refusing any nickname he tried to give her. Her first trainer didn't name her, and neither could Susumu. She didn't have much of an urge to battle, but she figured that when it came down to self defense, she'd make herself fight. Pain was a hassle, and she never cared much for it. <I don't see why she won't join us. Isn't she hungry?> Milo nibbled more on his BLT meal, pleased with the combination of flavors. How could you not love bacon? Sure, she probably didn't eat meat, but who said she needed the bacon in it? It was to die for!
Susumu didn't understand, but the gist of it was clear. He followed the Meditite's stare and frowned at the Deerling, feeling rather bad for not using her more often. She was such a depressed little thing, and he couldn't get her out of this sad funk. "She'll come around eventually. Maybe a battle will get her motivated." He took another bite of his sandwich, eating to kill time as he waited for a new challenger. Someone had to come around eventually!

Arthur knew that with his win and lose streak lately he'd have to do something to make up for it somehow. It was only natural though as he tried to think of something ot do for the common good at least. Hydron was tagging along behind Arthur at a decent pace and seemed to be eager to get into a battle now with whoever was within the room he had just walked in. Looking over to see a distinctly rotund figure in front of him for a minute, but figured that he should pay it no mind. The guy in general was rather average according to Artur, and he gave a half-blank stare as he put his hand all dramatic at the top of his head. "Man, this is going to be a pain," he said calmly as he tugged on his hair in exasparation and let his hand ruffle his own hair a little. Then brought it down slowly as he looked down to the ground with a slight tilt of his head at the ground as if he was expecting this battle to be boring. Arthur really needed to have some more class, but he was showing disinterest already due to the other eating in front of him. What a glutton, and he was already thinking horrible of him. The moody person across from him was no different though than any other human being, and Arthur soon glanced up at his pokemon for a minute. Running the pokedex once over each one and getting the answer he wanted even as Hydron blasted into the room with full force a dragon rage shot at the ceiling of the room making it go instantly dark. Causing the back-up generators to kick in and other lights around the area to kick in. Destructive little guy, but he rubbed the back of his head. Hopefully Seamus's meal wouldn't be ruined as his magby walked in right after. Just as impatient as the dinosaur as he made a fist punching into his palm motion to indicate the beat down his opponent was about to get. We're ready, let's go bitches! the magby said and spat out a little bit of fire from his mouth. Meanwhile, Hydron roared his head into the sky and then bared fangs at the opposition. "Easy guys, hey there, I'm Arthur, pleasure to meet you, care to battle?" he asked his opponent. From outside the room, the Deerling's ears perked up at the sound of footsteps. Multiple footsteps. She could hear heavy ones coming from a human, and the soft pitter patter of something close by. She found herself growing curious as she lifted her head, staring up at the irritated male with dull eyes. She couldn't care much for him, much like how he didn't care much for her. Don't bother what didn't need to be bothered, and expect an easy life. That was her motto, and she was sticking to it. She sighed and settled back down, unaware that this was supposed to be her future challenger. The Meditite grinned at his meal, humming pleasantly to himself as he leaned against his trainer. It was a comforting moment to the fighting type, who really wasn't a battle fan in the first place. He was growing used to it, but it didn't mean that he liked it.
It wasn't as if the hungry duo were off in their own world, because they were able to notice Arthur when he walked in. Susumu struggled to swallow his last bite, wanting to speak without having actual food in his mouth. "Yo." He started casually, but then a certain Deino had to make a scene by firing off a dragon rage at the ceiling. The room rattled as light bulbs shattered from the attack, sending down tiny glass shards on their usual battle field. It was pretty dangerous, but whatever. Pokémon could handle glass, right? <W-What's going on?! It's so dark! I don't like it! I don't don't don't!> In the horrible cover of the darkness, Milo bolted for his trainer's arm and cowered. Eyes shut tight like a frightened child, the Meditite whimpered as Susumu gave him an awkward head pat. He didn't know what the hell was going on, but the instinct to comfort stayed strong. "W-Was that necessary?" Thankfully the generators kicked in, and soon the lights were back on. That didn't mean that they wouldn't have pissed off workers going at them by the time the battle ended.
<Everyone ok...?> Deerling groaned as she got up, wincing as the lights turned back on again. She daintily trotted behind the Magby, avoiding the glass shards as she returned to her trainer's side. Looked as if things were fine, but the commotion bothered her enough to bring her in the room. <I-I'm fine...> Feeling brave enough to leave Susumu's side, the Meditite hopped off of the bench to stand beside the Deerling. They had to battle these roughians? Sheesh. "I'm Susumu. I'm sure it's a pleasure..." He didn't mean to sound arrogant as his voice trailed off, but the shock of the damage was still apparent. He shook it off as he stood up to hold out his hand for a handshake, deciding to look past it this time. This wasn't his first time dealing with unreasonable Pokemon, after all. "I'm ready if you are. Let's make it a good one." Not that he was determined, but Susumu faked a confident look as he nervously smiled. Nobody better die from this.

Arthur figured this guy was some sort of pushover from the way he was acting and didn't say anything else as his face got rather serious. Looking like he was almost constipated, but Hydron then turned his head to the sound of the other trainer letting out a loud roar. Arthur really needed to get him under control and literally had Midnight walk up to whack him on the head. It was very effective as the deino almost snapped his jaws at Midnight when she punted him in the knee to make him fall to the ground. Hydron knew fully well who was hurting him, but she wasn't damaging him. That was the key thing here, and Hydron knew fully well Midnight was holding back her punches quite a bit. Molt was just starting to shift from toe to toe as he got impatient as always and just ran forwards without waiting for the other trainer's say or even his own. "MOLT, STOP!" he shouted verbally and the magby instantly skidded to a halt. Stopping his attack right away and luckily he knew when Arthur was getting pissed. The strained face on Arthur's was of mixed emotions, but he then put a confident, arrogant smile on. "Oh, of course, pleasure's all mine, just whack my deino across the head if he tries to kill you, mm'kay?" he said so casually as if he was just mocking the competition. "Use a focus energy and bite!" he said calmly, but he didn't say on which pokemon. Hydron just figured he'd go for the closest one as his whole body started to literally charge with energy focused into his mouth. Suddenly he aimed directly for the meditite to chomp down on it's body, but he could have missed easily as his hustle activated to raise the attack of bite by fifty percent and decreasing accuracy by twenty percent! "Okay, Molt, use smokescreen on the deerling and then a karate chop," he said calmly. Arthur just put a hand to his chin thoughtfully as he watched this play out. It was not nice of him to move first, but he didn't think it was wrong for him to do so. Molt was suddenly just standing there as he blew in air around him and then suddenly expelled a gaseous substance straight for the deerling to imply the smokescreen on her. Suddenly he charged forwards while his previous attack was moving and aimed his hand downwards in a karate chop motion aiming for a critical hit on the deerling! Susumu wasn't one that was quick to make judgments, but Arthur was giving him a weird vibe. "Right." His voice trailed off at the male's advice, glancing nervously at the violent Dieno to stay on guard. None of his Pokemon had a killing instinct as far as he knew, so this tiny Deino made him wonder if this was simply a trait among dragon types. Were they naturally harder to train in exchange for all of that power? Made sense in his head, but damn. Arthur should've gotten the rascal a muzzle or a leash. Something to keep the fuzzy dragon contained. "Let's try to avoid destroying the room too." Chuckling nervously in an attempt to sound casual, he instantly stopped when he saw the first attacks used. Smokescreen and Focus Energy? This guy was doing his best to get the battle rolling, wasn't he?
Deerling didn't have much time to react after having a small cloud of smoke lobbed at her. She coughed and rubbed at her eyes as the smokescreen clouded her view, making it difficult to see the incoming Karate Chop. It smacked her hard on her back, nearly making her collapse onto the ground. Somehow she stood her ground like the stubborn deer she was, snorting defiantly at the fire type afterwards. <You're too energetic. What a handful.> She groaned, glancing over at the Meditite to see how he was doing. <Ow!> Milo squealed at the Deino's strong bite, not expecting such a strong attack from the dragon. He tried to pull himself away, but the bite was firmly locked onto him. "Leech Seed on the Magby, then get it with a Double Kick. Milo, go for a Low Sweep." Already Susumu was feeling cornered, not even knowing if his two Pokemon had enough tricks to take out these power houses.
Deerling's summer flower spewed out a parasitic seed at the Magby, attempting to steal a little health every turn. It was nice to have things without deserving them, which was why she was willing to go along with the plan. She supposed that she had to knock some sense into the Magby as well, partially hoping they'd both just attack Milo to give her a break. She sent two kicks in the fire type's direction, looking like a stubborn mule after the assault. Milo was having some trouble moving around, but he managed to move his leg enough to try and sweep it under the Deino's legs. If that worked, he could probably slow the Deino down and have more control over the situation. Slow opponents were less intimidating than the fast ones, after all.

Arthur knew that this kid wasn't going to make this easy for him either, but even so, the promotion at Ace Academy hadn't gotten to his head just yet either. It was time to make a change and focus on the many displays of courage that he could deal with. Ah, now there was something new, a person who knew how to use the dark dragon's weaknesses against it. Arthur wasn't going to give in to his urge to use a dragon rage on the pokemon, because he figured that would be too cheap. Hydron heard the meditite gunning for him, but he knew it was too late to dodge when he was tripped falling face first into the ground. Ow, that attack hurt like hell and Hydron was starting to let a dark energy flood around his whole body. It was time to charge forth with a plan, and he really was just winging it at this point. "Give out our friendly deerling another smokescreen, and this time a shot of smog in the confusion," he said calmly. A smile on his face as he seemed to feel like he had this battle under his control, but a vague feeling that it was just beginning. Hydron was getting impatient just as much as Molt was. Molt was suddenly leech seeded and his health was being sapped from him as vines suddenly clung to his legs. Within moments the deerling had him trapped, and then she kicked him twice breaking him free from the vines even as they sapped more health. Molt was annoyed and shot another clever shot of smoke around the deerling. This time letting his belly inflate like a pillow and then exhaled as he chewed some goo in his mouth to spit it at the deerling in hopes of it poisoning as the poisonous glob aimed to sink itself into the deerling's skin. "Alright, Hydron, use focus energy and dark pulse," he said calmly. Arthur figured that it was better to rely on an attack that had one hundred percent accuracy than an eighty percent accuracy one even as Hydron started to let his whole body get pumped. Then within moments he had let a dark source of energy flood the meditite's with dark energies as a large dark pulse formed around the meditite and pulsed inwards until it would bring out it's darkest thoughts to hurt it immensely. All of the smoke building up in the room was starting to irritate Susumu's eyes, even tearing up as he tried to rub it out. He knew that his Deerling was getting the worst of it, but it always sucked getting more involved in a battle than you had to be. "Deerling, careful." He warned, not sure if Arthur was going to make his duo gang up on her. It was definitely possible, and he didn't want his strongest hitter out of the match too soon. <Like you even care.> She muttered, lowering her eyes as the Smog painfully choked her lungs. She hated the scent of it, nearly withering because of her grass type weakness. She couldn't even take it anymore! With a raise of her head, she started to blend in with the scenery around her. Buildings were awfully plain, and she sucked that plainness right up.
It was odd looking at her now; her entire body looked as if it was the same pattern as the floor. The Deerling was coated with white tiles! It was almost as if she was an inanimate object until she took a challenging step forward, suddenly eager enough to take the Magby seriously. He managed to burn her after giving him two good whacks, but she wasn't about to get on her knees. "Looks like you're ready to go. It took you long enough." Susumu stated the obvious, as he was clearly a master of language. "Fine. Let's focus on the Magby. Tackle and Fake Out, both of you!" It might've seemed cheap to gang up on a single Pokemon, but in a double battle, almost anything goes.
Milo was as swift as a raging river, bolting towards the Magby with a high pitched scream. He had to be as intimidating as possible to force a flinch, and every damn time he used this move, he had trouble pulling that off. Instead of being scary, he simply clapped his hands and screamed near the Magby's ears. Hopefully that would do the trick, otherwise he'd end up getting mean looks for the rest of the day. Deerling was like a ram and cram; unwanted and forceful as she charged after the Magby. Not the most eventful turn ever, but Susumu was doing what he could to meet Arthur's standards.

Ah, that was a good strategy, but even in the midst of all the confusion going on. Hydron was sensing he wasn't being attacked and got instantly frustrated with this. Even before Arthur could say anything as the deerling and meditite were focused on the magby. Hydron suddenly let his head reel back and Arthur started to run towards him to stop him from attacking without him telling him too. "Hydron, stop!' he said right away, but by the time Arthur had been running to twist the deino's neck away from his current target a huge blast of sound waves swirling with deadly purplish blue flames swirled round and round. Spiraling straight towards the deerling as the magby was suddenly flinched, but he held out his claws after sensing Hydron's attack. Gripping the deerling's neck or trying to even as he flinched at the same time the tackle came at him. Claws trying to dig in to hold the deerling into place. It was easy to get out of the grip, but that one second of delay just meant the dragon rage was so much closer. Hydron hadn't held back and his whole body was being pushed back against the room's floor as well, and Arthur was now latched on to the deino to veer the attack. It was impossible to change the direction of his pokemon's attack, but the disobedient dragon type seemed intent on seeing the deerling roast. Humph, bitches just jealous of my swagger, the deino said and laughed cruelly as he hoped they wouldn't ignore him anymore. Don't ignore me, fool, Hydron said as he stomped his feet on the ground demanding attention. "Stop it Hydron, or you are getting a time out," he said to the disobedient dragon as Arthur sighed softly and wanted to just wave in defeat after that. Instead he stood strong, and suddenly backed up so he wasn't in the way of any immediate attacks. Deerling's efforts looked like they were doing the trick, successfully doing damage to the Magby while Milo kept Molt in place. Somehow, the Magby managed to move his arms around the Deerling's neck. She gasped and struggled against his arms, easily breaking free when he was this weak. As her burn nipped at her heels, the Deino's Dragon Rage spiraled towards her with vicious blue flames. She gasped as she attempted to run away from the attack, but Hydron's attack was too fast. It engulfed her body instantly, successfully draining her of the rest of her energy as she collapsed to the ground. <What was that?!> Milo cried in horror, backing off as he stared at the KO'd Deerling. How could she be knocked out so quickly? That was hardly fair! Even Susumu appeared to be disgruntled as he stared at the fainted Deerling, not expecting such a powerful attack from a lower leveled Pokemon.
Damn, was this going to be his second loss in a row? It looked as if he was going through yet another losing streak, and this was not doing his ego any favors. "Ugh. Fine. Return." He returned Deerling back into her Pokeball, letting out a deep sigh as he felt the weight shift around in his hand. When she was all the way in, he could feel the weight of his future loss settle over him. Two against one, and Milo couldn't hold his own in a battle. The Meditite was too inexperienced, and one look at him and anyone could see he wasn't confident. "Milo, let's wrap this up." Susumu wanted to sound optimistic, but he failed. His voice was weak, and Milo's legs were trembling. "Finish off the Magby with your Confusion." Thank goodness Milo had such a nice move pool, even if it wouldn't knock out the Deino by the end of the battle.
It was fun having access to so many attacks; yet another advantage to hatching eggs, he supposed. Milo gulped as he stared at the flinching fire type, knowing it was now or never. He had to knock the Magby out now, or else they would be way too pathetic. Holding his breath as he focused his psychic attack, he fired a purple burst of energy towards the Magby. It even had a chance of confusion if it managed to spin his foe to the point of being dizzy, but that was pretty rare.

Well, rare as it was, the confusion struck the magby as he was recovering from flinching and shook his head softly. Yeah, that blast had knocked him down to very low health so he wouldn't be doing much damage anymore, but he almost forgot about flame body. That was a useful attack if it actually did work, but right now he was more concerned about the meditite attacking his magby. Molt was just fine because of the level difference thank god. Wondering why he hadn't bothered to attack the deino, but he figured he shouldn't mull on such unimportant questions. Hydron was certainly more lax than before and seemed intent on just rushing around the area without any care in the world. The dangerous dinosaur seemed intent on using it's move on the meditite just then. Even so, Molt was still in action and his flames lit up even more as he was tired of being messed with. "Use ember, and Hydron use bite on the meditite" he said calmly. Surely this wasn't overkill, because he hadn't used dragon rage at all just yet. In fact, he was just wanting to destroy the meditite already. Molt wasn't in any hurry to finish off the meditite as he seemed already tired out from the attacks he had been using on him. Even so, he was managing to spew forth a jet of flames for the meditite, and then Hydron suddenly heard Arthur's command. Well, it was that time of day again, and they both charged the meditite right then. As cheap as the one attack had been, Arthur considered it fair game to him. Even though at later levels dragon rage really wouldn't help his cause. Hydron started to charge forwards and used his ears to listen for where he thought the meditite was. Aiming his jaws straight for the meditite's neck and turned his head to where he last heard him move as his hustle ability activated again. "Pretty strong pokemon, mind you," he complimented his opponent despite the fact Arthur wasn't finding this amusing at all even as his ace academy badge flashed the opposing trainer. Unfortunately for Milo, this was the turn where it all ended. He thought he could've had enough luck to knock out the Magby, but the level difference was too great. The fighting type had one arm trapped in the Deino's grip, struggling against Hydron's sharp teeth as it ripped against his skin. His eyes swelled up with tears as he began to panic, tugging harder than ever to fight the Deino's bite. With Molt's ember coming after him like a meteor shower, the timid monkey sensed that he was rapidly running out of time. "Milo! Careful!" Susumu winced, absolutely hating to see the Meditite trapped in a situation like this. After raising the little guy from an egg, he had to admit that he had a soft spot for the Meditite.
Or maybe that applied to any of the Pokemon he egg hatched. It was a good thing none of his current party members were raised from eggs, otherwise they'd have the potential to get away with anything. Embers rained down on the Meditite's body, creating the deciding blow for their simple trainer battle. Milo slumped in the Deino's grip, groaning from the burns as he slipped into a state of unconsciousness. Kind of a bummer, really. This was both good and bad for Sususmu, knowing that either way, this counted as a successful battle for his TD mission. The bad news was that this wasn't helping his reputation as a Pokemon Trainer.
"Ah, thanks." He barely registered Arthur's compliment, dully returning Milo back into his Pokeball. "You did a good job. Maybe we'll get ice cream after this." A smile crept on Susumu's face, albeit a weak one as he imagined Milo's pitiful expression. That Meditite really didn't like battling, and losing wasn't helping. "You have a good team so far. Keep training them." Susumu nodded at Arthur, impressed that both of Arthur's Pokemon were still standing at the end. "So that's the power of a dragon. Not bad at all. Maybe we'll have a rematch, Arthur." He would've liked to train a dragon one of these days, but they were a bit too rare for him to find. With a shrug, he wandered out of the trainer's lounge. There were other battles to be had.

"Susumu, was it? Very well, might have to sometime, I'm sorry that your pokemon were uh, defeated?" he asked, scratching the back of his head lightly and did feel kind of sorry cause of the one fighting type not really making it. Plus he did kind of have the advantage with this fight. "Just thought I'd mention, I'm from Ace Academy. You can bet I'll get stronger so we can have a really serious battle one day!" he said to Susumu, and checked off a list that he grabbed from his bag that he carried with him. Returning Hydron and Molt, now he had two powerful pokemon finally. Second gym should be easy thanks to this, but you never knew half the time. "I'm sure we'll meet under better terms next time, kind of disappointing when you come into one of these random rooms against some pretty cool pokemon. Well, you think they are until, bam, wait, what just happened sort of deal you know? Well, see ya around," he said before Susumu could get out of ear shot but he quickly headed out so he could go and count this on his list towards trainers he had told about Ace Academy.
