The business of evolving Jormungandr was a complicated one -- Lukas had gone so far as to consult a pokecenter, and they informed him that not only was a prism scale necessary, but the fish had to be traded and battled in order for the effects to take place. Sharp words and mockery would not get him far in this arena, so instead he adopted an air of false civility, timid and rule-abiding. His clothing was crisp and ironed, his long hair pulled back neatly as he stood quietly and awaited an available battling partner.
Jor was resting in his arms, and Lukas carefully taped the scale atop the Feebas' head. The pamphlet had said to let the pokemon hold the item, but as Jor had no hands, and no way to tie the scale on... tape would have to work. The fish blinked dully up at him, fins wagging happily, and Lukas beamed down at him in a rare moment of love not directed towards himself. "Alright, you be good," he said, recalling the fish and ready to thrust it into the hands of his battling partner.
Ready for battle behind him, Laevateinn huddled quietly to one corner, bloodred mandibles clacking together quietly.

Roselynn smiled, she wasn’t quite sure why she had agreed to do this for a stranger, a stranger that was only starting on her journey none-the-less, but there was just something inside of her that said she should. Normally, she probably would’ve battled the trainer first to make sure that he was indeed someone she believed wouldn’t give up on his Pokémon and leave them to collect dust in his PC, but perhaps the fact that he was going through the process of having a complete stranger take care of his Pokémon so that it may evolve, well only made Roselynn think he didn’t plan on leaving his Pokémon anytime soon. “Don’t worry shroomie, you won’t be gone for long,” she whispered softly to Shroomie’s pokeball before handing it over for the lovely yet funky looking feebas.
The trade was complete and now it was time for the two to start their battle! “Alright jormungandr, let’s see what you got and let’s have you evolve!” she said as she let the small fish flop before her, the prism scale looked rather odd taped upon his head, but it should do. “Go ahead and choose one of your pokemon, you don’t have to use Shroomie,” the young brunette said with a smile, feeling as if maybe she could help this trainer become a bit stronger.
