[/div] Having just received her starter Pokemon, Nina was naturally excited to begin her new career as a Pokemon trainer. She took to the first route of the region even as the first droplets of rain began to fall from a quickly darkening sky. As she made her way down the beginning of a well-worn path, she took a moment to observe the foreign setting. Spring was giving way to summer, evident by a carpet of lush, verdant grass that grew beyond the boundaries of the footpath. To her left and right, trees covered in a myriad of leaves stretched their limbs wantonly towards the sky, creating at least a thin canopy where more of the trees collected. And in the shadow of the stormy sky, everything seemed darker, wilder, and even a bit more overgrown. It was like a new world for the urbanite girl, who knew little more than her home town of Saffron City and the sparsely vegetated outskirts, and this place was something she had only seen in textbooks and told of my travelers. To anyone else it would have been nothing special, but Nina felt as though she had stepped into a land pulled right from a fairy tale.
Attempting to distract herself from the sense of childish wonderment that began to creep upon her, she pulled a couple of Pokeballs from her backpack and released their captives in a pair of red streaks of light. One Pokemon was a small, light green, dinosaur-esque Larvitar, whose eyes stared up at Nina with a look of curiosity and mild excitement. The other Pokemon was a slightly bigger, cream-colored feline of a Meowth, who looked as disinterested as the other looked enthused,
"Heya guys. So, I'm Nina, your new trainer!" the girl told them enthusiastically, "So, uh, now I just need to figure out a name for you, little guy. Your friend here is Ripley; I got her from this promotional event thingy." Ripley eyed the diminutive Larvitar up and down. The Larvitar in turn flashed a bright, child-like smile, <Hi, nice to meet you!> Ripley only sighed in disgust at the juvenile creature and ignored his amicable greeting. A little disheartened, the Larvitar turned to Nina again, <So, uh, got any ideas for a name?> "I thought ya'd never ask! Ever seen the movie Robo Cop?" The Larvitar just looked up at Nina with a look of confusion. Nina slapped a hand to her forehead, "Ya've never seen ROBO COP?! Okay, so it's this fan-fucking-tastic movie about this guy named Murphy who's this cop in this big huge city, and the police force is owned by these scumbag corporate folks, and then he dies and they take his body and make him into an android to fight crime and stuff and he's Robo Cop! And Murphy is this really cool dude with his wife and son but he doesn't remember them or his partner after he gets turned into a robot and-" the Pokemon was confused, but certainly entertained by Nina's emphatic explanation of the movie, when she suddenly interjected, "Say, that'd be a great name for ya, Murphy. Whaddya think, little guy, does Murphy sound like a good name?" Almost immediately the little Larvitar nodded happily and let out a delighted cry, and Nina beamed in approval. Oh yeah, this was going to be a great team already.
<Hey, not to ruin this touching 'Trainer-Pokemon' moment, but are we going to start training or something? Honestly, I'm not going to get any stronger just standing here watching the both of you smiling and carrying on like a couple of dweebs.> Nina shot the Meowth an angry glare, but she couldn't help but agree with her interjection, "Yeah, I guess you're right. I wonder what kind of Pokemon even live here anyway."<I dunno, but if you're going to make any new additions to our piss-poor excuse for a team, then you better get someone with a little more guts than Little Miss Sunshine over there.> <... Who, me?> Murphy stared blankly at Ripley, not sure whether or not to be offended yet, <Of course I'm talking to you, Princess. C'mon, let me show you what a real Pokemon looks like> Suddenly the Meowth turned to the path and forest that stretched out before them. She raised her paws to cup her mouth and called loudly into darkness, <Hey, any of you pussies out there lookin' for a fight?! Come and get it, morons!>. Murphy turned to Nina with a look of fear and apprehension on his face and looked up expectantly at his trainer. Nina just glared at the feline's back. She couldn't deny that this cat was kind of a bitch, but she also couldn't deny that this cat was kind of a badass. Hopefully she wouldn't attract the attention of anything too powerful or too angry. Female. Ran away from her home in Ile Electrique. Lonely and likes talking to other trainers. An energetic and lively girl, but sensitive about her family.
As Nina was busy talking to her pokemon and naming them, a loud pair of footsteps were heard from the bushes near her before a girl suddenly popped out, panting heavily and running so swiftly as if a large animal was chasing her, or even worst. The girl turned and saw Nina in the last second before she went to a full stop, twisting her ankle unfortunately and falling onto the floor with a flurge of pain. "OUCHHHHH!!!" She said. The girl was also a bit weird looking now that she had finally stopped and could be examined.
She was small, possibly no more than eight years old. Her face was filled with dirt and her clothes looked as if they were not washed in ages. Her t-shirt had a slight rip to it and her shorts were a big muddy from the route. The first thing one might ask when they saw this girl, was where her parents were and what she was doing alone. But she was a shy one and not really one to talk much. But now, with an injured ankle she could not help but stay there, clutching her leg as she hoped that Nina would help.

[/div] Murphy was the first to notice the little girl and the horrendous fall she took. He scurried to her side with a cry of concern and Nina followed him to investigate. Ripley, meanwhile, had let out a startled yelp at the sudden noise and was now watching the others tentatively,
"Hey, you hurt bad, kid? Can you get up?" Nina asked as she dropped down to one knee to better examine the child. She was dirty, her clothes were torn, and she was puny to boot. Was this kid homeless or something? Murphy looked over the girl with wide, inquisitive eyes, as if trying to assess the damage done by the girl's fall. He looked indecisive, wondering if there was something he should immediately do to help or at least comfort the child. He inched a little closer to her as Nina waited an answer, and fat raindrops began to fall from the sky. Ripley walked over cautiously, claws instinctively drawn and ready. Murphy noticed this and shot her an angry look, and Ripley withdrew them with a disgruntled huff.

Loves sleeping. Used: --- Health: 100% [style=text-align: justify; font-size: 11px; Ah, the rain? Lydia wasn't that idiotic when it begun to rain you get to shelter, avoid the water like the plague because you could get sick and when you had no home getting ill was a battle that she didn't want to tackle right now. So even though her ankle was causing her grief and Nina noticing her injury and looking like she was coming over, Lydia could only look at the trainer and shake her head side to side in an obvious lie. "No no, i'm fine, just a little scratch is all, but it's raining so I better get going and look for my pokemon," Smiling brightly despite the pain the run-away pushed herself up to stand while favoring her ankle before limping away without another word into the forest area of the route one. In the same direction the girl went a loud fumbling roar came from the distance, whimpering and whining following suit as a loud crash was heard and then silence. If a trainer wanted to investigate the loud noises they'd soon come across a numel flipped over onto his back, his hole smothered by the ground beneath him as his little legs were flailing about in the air to try and re-flip himself over; but fruitless attempts no less. He had tried to hide his spout from the rain but this wasn't any better, now he was vulnerable! Would a trainer help this little camel?[/style] TAGS: MODDED | NOTES: Roarr <33 <3 [/style] [/style]

[/div] Murphy was about to speak in protest to the girl's excuse, but she limped away before any of them could say anything. The three of them just stared at the direction she had left in, a little confused and a little concerned,
"I guess she's okay then," Nina said a little dumbfounded, "So, uh, what were we doing again?" Any response by her Pokemon would have been interrupted by a loud roar that came from the bushes nearby. Murphy let out an indignant squeak of surprise and ran behind Nina while Ripley scoffed at his terrified reaction. There was a loud crash and a whimpering cry of distress, prompting Nina to investigate. Murphy very tentatively followed her into the bushes and Ripley followed with a disdainful frown, wondering why they were even bothering wasting their time on hurt girls and strange noises when there was battling to be done.
Nina was surprised to find a strange yellow-ish Pokemon trapped on its back. It's legs flailed comically as it attempted to right itself and the poor thing looked absolutely miserable, "Hold on little guy, Nina's here to help ya!" she cried as she tried to push the creature onto it's feet. Now, Nina was someone that certainly prided herself in her athletic ability and knew she was capable of at least minor feats of strength when push came to shove, but holy Miltank was the thing heavy! She struggled for a minute until Murphy came to her side to help. As the two of them attempted to right the upside-down Pokemon Ripley watched the scene with an impossible level of apathy and disgust. Why couldn't she have gotten a real trainer who didn't waste their time on trivial bullshit? Ripley contemplated running off while the two were distracted, but she wasn't familiar with the area and wasn't sure what creatures lurked in the depths of the woods and surrounding route.

::numel:: WILD NUMEL level 08 • simple • male growl, tackle, ember, magnitude Slow. Falls over a lot. Simple. Loves sleeping. Used: --- Health: 100% He flinched as he was touched and his dopey looking head whipped around to see who was touching him. He stopped struggling to right himself for a second as he stared at Nina, trying to comprehend what was going on. He wasn't bright. That was probably fortunate for Nina and her poke'mon. Because a quicker poke'mon would have attacked her without thinking. But that was the virtue of being slow... you always thought things through. It took him a second, but Numel realized what she was trying to do. She was being helpful. He grunted and began to roll with her pushes, using her and Larvitar's strength to give him the extra push he needed to get onto his side. With a 'thud' he landed on his side and with a few more wiggles of his legs he got onto them and stood up right. He looked absolutely miserable, a down right mess. His fur was messed up, dirty and caked with mud. And then his belly rumbled. Loudly. Like a monster trying to get out. He reached out and tried to chew on Nina's clothing, hoping that it would taste like food and fill him up.
