"Alright!" Karan entered the gym, a smile on her face. Denkou walked next to her, and behind truged Kou. "We're finally here!"
<Yeah, but only Kou can fight> the Luxio said a bit glumly. The trainer reached down and scratched him behind the ears. He had no choice but to purr.
"I know bud. But only you and Static could fight, and with you both being Electric-Types, it wouldn't be very effective, right?"
<I guess so...>
<Belive me, Denkou> the Dragonite piped in <I would rather not battle>
As they talked, Karan looked over the gym before finally yelling out: "I'm ready to batte! Is anyone there?", causing the two Pokemon to jump slightly with surprise.

"Hello cutie, are you looking for me?" A young male asked, walking up from behind Karan and her pokemon. "I'm Haru, and I'm the Gym Leader of this here Gym," Haru proclaimed loudly, trying to impress the young lady.
"I'm ready to batte! Is anyone there?",
"Ohh, so you're here to battle instead of going out on a date with me?" Haru asked with a sly smirk. "Oh well then, get ready, I'm not going to go easy on you," Haru added, taking out two pokeballs and tossed them up into the air releasing a Minun and Plusle.

The 'Morph looked back at Haru with a confused look. Jeez, what was with the guys in this region? First Balin, then that guy in the Cafe', then this guy? I wonder if I'm really that pretty, she thought.
She pretty much ignored the date thing and smirked. "Fine by me." She was mildly surprised he sent out two Pokemon and faltered, almost tripping over herself. Karan thought it over; she didn't want to use Denkou or Static, so instead she sent out Maku. "Alright. Maku, Kou, get out there!"
The girl fell silent then and stepped back next to her Starter and watched as the two walked forward. Without waiting for teir trainer, the two attacked; Kou lifted off the ground and, still flying low, rushed at the Minun with a Fire Punch. Maku used a Focus Energy and ran, as fast as she could, at the Plusle with an Arm Thrust.

The first attack towards the Minun struck him. Though he tumbled back only slightly before then seeming to stand back up quickly. While the partner managed to dodge the attack, it was a different story for the Plusle, the Arm Thrust sent her back quite a bit, though she managed to skid to a stop.
"Quick Attack Minun! You too Plusle!" Haru then added a brief moment later. The two mouse Pokemon glanced at each other for a moment and then nodded the two charging at each of the Pokemon. The Minun of course was charging towards Kou, using the instructed attack.
While the Plusle seemed to then charge towards Maku, using the same attack that had been used by the fellow Pokemon.

Kou pushed himself into the air as the Minun attacked, circling high over them in thought of his next move. He didn't want to kill the thing with a Slam, and Thunder Punch would be no good. His clawed hand once again catching flame, he rushed down with another Fire Punch.
Maku put her arms up, blocking the attack from her face but still pushed back slightly. Punching the air slightly to get the pain out, the Fighting-Type ran with a full body Tackle at the Plusle.

<Minun!> The small blue and cream hued pokemon cried, getting knocked down by Kou's flaming claws. "Come on get back up!" Haru shouted. "Thunder, use Spark!" Haru commanded, without wasting any time the Minun quickly began to run at Kou with his Spark Attack.
<Plus!> The small red and cream hued pokemon cried, twirling into the air the from the impact of the powerful Tackle Attack. "Hang in there Lightning and use your Spark Attack as well!" Haru shouted, watching his pokemon follow his command.

The attack did not hurt too bad: electric attacks were as effective as many others, something Karan never got. Kou roared anyway, turning a slight red before sending out a Dragon Rage. He went back higher into the air as he attacked.
Maku took more damage the her teammate, mostly because she was a lower level. She glared, rottating her arm and sending out a fast Arm Thrust.

<Minun!> Thunder cried, getting knocked back down onto the floor rather harshly from the Dragonite's Dragon Rage Attack. "Come on Thunder, don't give up!" Haru shouted, trying to boost his pokemon up a little. "Use Thunder Wave!" Haru commanded, not wasting anytime Thunder quickly recover back onto it's tiny feet, and fired a weak Thunder Wave Attack.
<Plus!> Lightning cried, getting thrusted by Maku's arms. "Don't you give up either!" Haru shouted, noticing that Lightning took a lot of damage from Maku. <Use Thunder Wave as well!" Haru commanded, like his partner Lightning quickly fired a Thunder Wave.

Kau was taken slightly off gaurd and, as a result of worrying for the smaller Pokemon, was hit with the Thunder Wave. His wings stopped beating as fast and he fell with a cracked cry, hitting the floor rather hard. Karan flinched, biting her lip, but was happy when he stood once more: though twitchy, he seemed eager to get back in the fight. Roaring again, he sent out a weaker Dragon Rage.
Maku was swifter then her battle partner, dodging the Thunder Wave fluidly even with her size. Using another Focus Energy, she rushed at the Pulse with another full-body Tackle.

Both Lightning and thunder growled to themselves. They were pleased to see the Dragonite had fallen, utterly paralyzed and useless for the moment. However, their attention suddenly turned to the pudgey round thing moving at them with some great force. The Gym Leader grinned slightly.
"Help eachother out! Then Quick Attack!"
The two grabbed eachother's hand, Minun yanking Plusle out of the way just in time, and as Maku continued it's momentum induced charge forward, Minun flung Plusle at it's back-side for a super-charged quick attack, and then the Minun followed right behind it's partner.
The only way to do this was focus their strength combined at one at a time. Ultimately, it brought them down faster. And what with the Dragonite Paralyzed, it was unlikely it could attack for a little while longer. More time had been bought.

Maku cried out in pain, already near fainting due to the higher levels. She whirled around, using a Sand Attack as she saw Kou rise up behind them. Though still a tad twitchy, he managed to get a few inches in the air and rush at the distracted Pokemon with a Fire Punch.

"Split up!" He yelled. The two bolted away from eachother immediately. At least only one would take the damage this way.
Thunder took it upon itself to rush Maku with another Quick Attack after the sand had settled. Lightning, however, was pummled by the Fire Punch, getting drilled into the ground. However, this little thing wasn't oging down without a fight. As the fist connected, Lighnint released a Spark Attack, but was soon out of comission.
"Hnmm... you did your best.." With that, Lightning was returned, and just as quickly, Storm was released. He would wait to see the results of Maku before commanding any attacks.

Kou growled softly, landing on the Gym floor as the spraks bounced around his body. Maku let out another cry and, like the Pokemon before it, fainted. She would be in a bad mood later. Karan sighed and returned her, looking to Denkou. "Alright Denkou. Your turn."
The Luxio nodded and trotted out, his tail flicking behind him as he looked over the two other Pokemon. In a flash he had dashed over and was attemptin to Bite Thunder. The large dragon behind him lifted into the air with a bit more ease and rushed toward Storm with a Dragon Rage, roaring loudly.

With all of the times Thunder had been knocked to the ground, Haru wasn't sure how much longer it could survive the harassment of Dragon Rage. It had been luck that this time it would be faced with a Bite, which he could form a perfect retaliation. Even it would cause Thunder to faint in the meantime, it was worth a try.
"Take the attack, Thunder. As soon as you can, use Thunder Wave. Storm, go right through that Dragon Rage with Volt Tackle."
This was a risky strategy, but both of his opponents were partially immune to electric type attacks. Slowing them down to the fullest and weakening them was his plan, but that Dragonite shouldn't be out for long. That was his prediction as he watched his plan come to action.
Thunder indeed took a hard bite on the left ear, feeling a sharp and painful pinching feeling on various spots. In response he let out a familiar blue electricity, meaning to stun the Luxio while it was still close by. ((I think Electric Types are immune to being paralyzed like this... -shrug-))
While Storm took a moment to charge enough electricity all around its tiny body. Looking head on at the flurry of dragon power, it went through with extraordinary speed and power. It came with its costs however, for the further it crossed in the Dragon Rage, the less electricity surrounded the Pichu. Needless to say it was also feeling painful burning sensations all around during the charge. Volt Tackle was still its strongest attack, and should be of some use.

(I don't think it effects them either... oo I need to play the games again)
Denkou growled a bit, but didn't let go as the sparks bounced around his body. The attack didn't do much but make him feel a bit tingly. His own fur cackled and he used a Spark; not very effective, but he guessed that the other Pokemon was weak enough for it to faint it. It was worth a shot, in any case.
Kou was feeling better now, and was able to move his body more smoothly, witch spurred him on to keep using the Dragon Rage. It was cut short as the Pichu ramed him though, forcing him to flutter back in mild surprise. Shaking his head, his fist burst into flames once more and he aimed a Fire Punch at Storm.

As Denkou had guessed, the spark attack had been just enough to cause Thunder to fall tot he ground in a exhausted heap. Managing to energy to stand proved to be a problem against these higher leveled Pokemon. Giving one last look at Storm, Haru had taken out the rightful Pokeball and returned the minun back into the safety of its home. He figured that Thunder wouldn't be of much use in the condition he appeared.
Proud of his succesful but painful Volt Tackle, the Pichu made a swift landing back onto the ground. Thankfully the Dragon wasn't flying too high, or else his fall would've been pretty painful, from what it noticed. He was quick to regain its senses as the room had went up a few degrees. Looking up he saw Kou coming at him with a fistful of fire! Dear Lord! Right now he was thankful for his small size, and easily dodged the physical strike.
"Storm, while your close! Sweet Kiss!" He urged. Seeing that after a close dodge from the last attack, he could use the Dragonites size against it and make it an easy target. Sure, he was concerned about Denkou at the same time. But it wasn't stronger than thier current opponent.
