Alex paused along the route. The overcast sky had begun to rumble, lightning exploding among the dark clouds. He relaxed, collapsing his body onto the rough bark of an thick, fallen branch. A bit of rain began to collide with the earth below, slideing down Alex's smooth cheek. He quite enjoyed the rain, finding it a calming factor to any enviorment. He only hoped that his new pokemon did as well. Alex toyed his fingers over the Shinx's pokeball curiously.
He extended his arm, formally tossing the sphere onto the ground in a manner he had commonly observed in movies, yet never practiced. The red light that emitted slowly glowed then morhped into the small poke'mon's figure. Alex gaped for a moment, emerged in his own joy.
He cleared his throat. "H-hello." Alex murmmered, extending a hand akwardly toward the Shinx.
"Shi!" He yelped gleefully, bounding in an exited pace toward his new trainer. Alex flinched, intimidated by this hyperness. The electric type leapt onto his trainer's chest, unaware of his uncomfort.
"Don't do that.." Alex pushed him off his body, and picked him up easily. He held him away from his skin at head level, observing him carefully. "I'm going to name you Ty.." He murmmered, more interested in studying the pokemon then talking to it.
"Shinxx!" Ty wriggled out of Alex's hands and landed in his lap, climbing out to sprint exitedly around his trainer.

Suddenly, a brown streak swooped down and attacked, razor-sharp talons outstretched. A young Pidgey was looking for a quick meal.
It zeroed in on the Shinx, because it was the smallest and easiest to grab. With a furious war-cry, it divebombed it's newfound prey.

Alex blinked, suprised by the sudden apperance of the pokemon. He grimaiced sympatheticly as the Pidgey's talons harmed the young Shinx. "Ty, use spark!" He commanded, standing up and turning to face the fight eagerly. The electric pokemon snarled, yet it seemed to still be smileing. A weak electric shock exploded from his body toward the flying type.

The pidgey screeched as a bolt of electricity pierced its wing. This was not what it had in mind, but this pokemon was not about to turn down a challenge.
It flapped its wings attempting a whirlwind, but because of the injury had to settle with a weak gust attack.

"Dodge it." Alex commanded, restoring his calm composure. The Shinx attempted to leap to the left away from the wind, yet he was caught in it. He hovered over the ground for a moment before being thrown harshly against the hard surface and slideing a few feet. Ty winced, yet lifted himself back up to his feet.
"Spark again, Ty!"
The little Shinx glowed with tremors of electricity, launching himself and the sparks at the Pidgy.

Flapping vigorously, it tried to dodge, but the enemy's attack struck it in the opposite wing. Flapping harder now was useless and painful, as the pokemon spiraled downwards to the ground.
Dust erupted around it and fluttered back down, some of it govering the helpless pokemon. For moments it lied there, motionless, but in a flash it whipped up onto its feet and used a fierce sand-attack!

"Dang it." Alex groaned as the sand rose and made it hard for Shinx to aim correctly. Ty sneezed as the grains made their way up their nose, and Alex suprised himself by giggleing quietly at the adoreable motion. He shook himself off and called, "Bite!"
Ty lunged to where he suspected the Pidgey to be, jaws extended threatingly.

Tired and uneasy, the pidgey took the attack, and took it with pride. In its own opinion, anything was better than being attack billions of times, so it prepared itself for the worst. As the teeth clenched hard over it, the pidgey's muscles stiffened, and then relaxed.
It had fainted.
Are you gonna try to catch it?
No doubt this pokemon is brave, and if you earn its trust, it'll gladly put itself before you.
Your pokemon has gained two levels.

Alex's Shinx relaxed with a deep sigh and bounded toward his trainer, exitedly circling him until the young teen lifted him up. "Good job, Ty." He smiled, his eyes shimmering with a rare glee. Hold the electric pokemon in the crook of his right arm, he tossed an empty pokeball at the fainted pokemon with his free hand.

Wobble... Wobble...
::pidgey:: You caught it! Female Gust Whirlwind Sand-Attack Tackle -pokes around at what Saki said above for level-
---- Sniff, sniff...
Vio had been following a trail for a while now, and he finally reached his destination- Route One. With some help from local pokemon and a friend or two, he'd made it all the way over here. Right now, he just grinned and relaxed.
But then he saw a two-legger. His trainer? he bounded forward. No no, a different person, judging by the scent. Too bad. He thought he might find his two-legger freind aroudn here, but it appeared she was long gone.
Dissapointed, he continued to move forward. But just then, the red ball captured a fellow pokemon. A pidgey! He stared. He raced forward, and began to glow. The small canid used double-edge on the pokeball before Alex could grab it, hoping to knock it away.

Alex's hand held motionless in midair, still extended toward where the pokeball had previously rested. He blinked repeatedly, surprised by the sudden movement. His Shinx struggled to escape from the tight grasp of his arm, then leapt onto the most soil before the other pokemon.
"Shinx!" He smiled excitedly and pounced at the pokeball that the Growlithe had attacked, thinking it wanted to play. "Shiii!" His tail swung and he crouched, with his head lying close to the ground and his eyes glowing with playfulness.
"Uh-Uhm, what the.. Why'd you do that..?" Alex stuttered, gazing at the Growlithe with a stupefied expression. He wasn't used to dealing with pokemon up close. Still, his eyes hovered over the fire type with extreme curiosity. He had never been able to study Growlithes before, so this one quite interested him.

The growlithe bared his teeth and snarled, but then winced. The double-edge had taken its toll. His front paws were bruised, but he stood up and growled again at the stupefied Alex.
<Uhh... Hi?>
Vio asked the shinx. Then he batted the pokeball at the electric pokemon. Violent began to lick his front legs, partly because underneath the orange fur they were black-and-blue. Of course, because of his stupid move, he couldn't run away now, and the shinx was a higher level then him.

<Hiya,whatchu doin' here?> Ty responded, and a wide smile spread over his features. He reclined into a sitting position to tilt his head curiously at the Growlithe. Alex swiftly bent down to pick up his new pokemon's ball. He slipped it into his backpack and took a few steps back from the Growlithe, observing it. He considered attempting to capture the pokemon. He did need a fire type, afterall.. Alex decided against it, figuring he could wait a few more seconds to observe the creature. If it left before he had enough data he figured he could have his Spheal or Shinx attack it before it got away. He pulled a notepad out from his backpack and rumaged hastily for a pen, then walked a few steps back and knelt down, scribbleing everything that the Growlithe did onto his sheet of paper.

Vio stared at the human, the fur on his neck bristling. He examined the paper, and reached up with a paw. He attempted to bat it away from the trainer's hands, just to examine it on his own. His mother had actually taught him something of the human alphabet. He was no good reader, and since he had the mind compasity of a five year old, he probably would be able to make nothing of it.
<I'm looking for my mum's trainer.>
He grinned at Ty evilly.

"Hey!" Alex whined as the paper fluttered to the ground. With a sigh he managed a shrug and sat down, peering at the Growlithe. He scratched his Shinx's head quietly, but Ty wasn't interested in the touch. Instead, the little electric type scooted away and rolled over, stretching his paws high in the air for a moment. <That must be boring.> Ty replied, standing up and shaking, flinging the dirt atop his back into the air. He then grinned and leapt closer to the Growlithe, playfully swatting his blue paws at its tail.

The growlithe's tail twitched, and he turned around. Vio yawned.
<Anyway, I'm Vio, and don't touch the tail. Who're you and who's he?>
Vio was very fond of his fluffy and clean tail. He could be vain when he wanted to be, and right now that's what he was. He got another idea.
<Hey, wanna battle then?>
Violent grinned, a sharp-toothed grin, and took a swat at the shinx himself.

<Awwh.> Ty gazed at the tail, tempted extremely by its fluffy appeal. <I'm Ty.> He stated proudly, smileing. <This 'ere is Alex. He's my trainer but he just got me.> Ty nodded.
<Hmm, battle?> He paused for a moment, looking at his trainer. <That'd be fun!> The Shinx decided, grining wide and swating a paw back at the fire type. He then trotted to Alex and bit him lightly.
"What?" Alex inquired, confused by their language.
Ty pointed a paw at Vio, then toward himself. He then growled and re-enacted a bit of fighting.
"Wanna battle him?" Alex smiled at Ty's nod. "Sounds great to me. Use Charge, Ty!" The little Shinx began to glow and static lightly as his electric power grew.

The growlithe flung himself at the blue pokemon, growling. He began to glow again, and aimed his body at Ty with a double-edge again. He wasn't too eager to use it again but it was his most powerful move, and he was hoping to finish this quickly.
But then, he remembered his old injury and winced, tripping. The glow faded, and he flattened himself onto the ground, awaiting the next move eagerly. He began to get his next move, ember, ready.

Alex was clearly amused by the Growlithe's fall, and he let a rare chuckle emerge from his lips. "Use Spark, Ty." He commanded, grinning slightly.
"Shi!" The little pokemon growled viciously. He began to glow with threating electricity, stronger from his previous charge. He then launched himself at the Growlithe, hoping that its embers wouldn't release before he hit.

Vio released the flames quickly, and they charged towards the shinx. After they were fired, he began to roll away from the shinx's attack in case the flames did not stop the attack. He regained his composure, and stood up.
He began to glow again, and got ready to attack again, or maybe counter another attack.
