Kendall's slender fingers fiddled with her hair as her eyes glanced at the crescent moon. What a better time to do her deed than at midnight. She glanced from the glistening moon to the laboratory ahead. Kendall's legs were swiftly passing each other at a walking pace silently. She looked to her side, a rally of pokeballs by her side.
Her team wouldn't fail her. Not here. Not now.
This was only her second mission for Team Death. The thought of her first sent a chill through her spine, making her wince at the former pain of betrayal. She shook of the pain and quickly focused again.
Now at the foot of the steps, she glanced from side to side. She took a quick trip around the building, eying the structure, entrances, and exits. She then nodded as she made her way to one side of the building to a quite large window.
She pulled a pokeball from her waist, releasing it to reveal her light raltz. She nodded and whispered a command. "Confusion, Konmei." She said softly. The small intelligent pokémon nodded as a blue glow surrounded the window. Shards of glass soon were heard as they hit the tile inside.
Kendall wasn't too sure if there were still professors in there, but if there were, she would have to work fast. She quickly picked up her pink pokémon and jumped through the window, eying her familiar surroundings. Although, the last time she was here, it was for a much.....different reason.

A short girl stood inside the Laboratory, sitting in front of a computer. The lights were out - no one was here except her. She was working on a late project, trying to dig up as much information as possible about DNA-splicing, and past experiments, all failed and in vain. She stretched and yawned silently, her labcoat sliding listlessly against the waxed tile floors. Shaking her raven hued locks with a dainty hand, she decided to call it a night. It was only about 11:50 p.m. but she was tired.
The Professor saved the information to a flashdrive, pulled it out and slipped it into her pocket, then shut down the old computer. Her body winced slightly at the loud, bzzztttink! sound that reminded her so easily of an AOL connection. Damn AOL. A dark figure crouched in the shadows, easily blending in. She turned to face it fondly. It seemed like Death's minion, crawling toward her in a slow, broken manner. Was she welcoming death?
"Sable."
No. It was her Sableye pokemon. His eyes finally glinted from an inner light, possibly his soul. The sapphires shimmered beautifully, glowing on his command. "Yes, I'm almost done. Won't be long, now." she whispered, reaching out to pat the Ghost-Dark hybrid on his head. He grimaced, though that didn't do much. The Professor couldn't see a thing in this darkness.
With a final beep, the computer's screen blackened much like her surroundings. It was the end of June, and the night outside was clear, warm . . . but dark. Only people with flashlights could try to pierce the darkness. The Professor was going to call a man when she got home. Actually, he was only about a year or two older than herself, but he was quite handsome. Plenty of other girls thought so too. As she remembered how girls seemed to flock to him, she grit her teeth and frowned prettily. Annoying wenches.
The window shattered in the main laboratory room, only one hallway and three rooms away from where the Professor stood now, jerking her head towards the sound. Her chocolatl colored eyes widened, and stood stock-still. Feeling her Sableye pulled at her labcoat, she fell to the floor as quietly as a jaguar. She took off her medium-high heel shoes, moving much as an animal would towards the open door. She slid out of the room, and into another. Only one room away from where the window shattered. Sableye's sapphires flashed, and then he was gone. Being the peculiar hybrid he was, he could melt in the darkness and not be seen.
He floated invisibly towards the girl, twirling around and peering closely at the Ralts. No doubt that damned psychic pokemon would realize he was there, being the two types psychics probably hated the most. He grinned, his sharp teeth visible only to the psychic pokemon until he wanted to make himself visible.

Her icy eyes glanced around at the darkness, not a sound to be heard. She smirked as the lab was silent with not even a dang raticate in sight. She sent a smile to her innocent ralts who was helping her. And he responded with a smile to show that no one was around to stop her.
Kendall took a few steps foreward, footsteps muffled by her ursaring skinned boots. She was halted by a shrill cry of her ralts. Kendall quickly stopped in her tracks and looked down to her ralts who was growling furiously. "Whats happening?" She asked softly.
The small ralts squirmed out of her arms to the ground vigorously to attempt something. Kendall was reluctant, but finally let the pokemon down. And with a slight chirp with a happy tone, the ralts was using a confusion attack again. It was trying to make a silhouette around the ghost to show Kendall its presence. "Ralts!" <Peekaboo!> It cried with excitement. It was a pure soul, not yet tainted by Kendall's horrible deeds.

The Professor's heart beats raced. Her face was slightly flushed as she tried to even out her breaths and calm herself. 'Don't worry,' she thought to herself grimly. 'He knows what he's doing.' But why didn't she hear anything? Why wasn't he attacking the intruders? She scampered behind a desk and hid under the ledge, not sure what to do.
Her head snapped up, barely missing the edge of the desk, as she heard a Ralts cry out. She frowned. A thief with a ralts? That was unorthodox.
"Ralts!" <Peekaboo!>
Sableye broke off the Confusion attack easily, not being affected because of his Dark half. He allowed himself to be seen by the naked human eye, though that didn't mean much at a little after midnight. Though to allow a meager amount of illumination, he allowed his sapphire eyes to glow. His head tilted, wondering why the Ralts didn't jump at the chance to attack him. But then he realized - this Ralts had a pink hue. Was this one of the so-called Light Pokemon? Oh, he understood human languages and matters quite easily. He couldn't really speak it, but he was learning. He spoke to the Ralts to relay the message to it's trainer: "Sableye sable?" <Why are you here?>

The ralts was truly unable to answer the question, and quickly turned to Kendall, eyes hidden, but filled with confusion. Kendall glanced at the shining eyes, a sableye no doubt. She then looked to her ralts who was turned to her.
A trainer must've been nearby, and even her voice could be recognizable. She was relayed the message age quickly answered back, thinking of her answer, who the ralts was reading, no doubt. 'I'm here on Team Death business. All I need is a starter pack.' She said smoothly, walking around, looking toward a set of cabinets. Perhaps they were in there? This laboratory looked so different during the night time. It was almost...unrecognizable.
The ralts relayed the message to the ghost pokemon. It wanted to attack, but it was not ordered to, and loyally stayed idle for the time being.

The Professor shook her hair, reminding herself of the Ralts. That tiny thing versus the Sableye - there wasn't a chance the thief would win. She made up her mind, and stood, walking quietly down the hallway, until she could barely see the outline of the thief's body from the illuminous sapphire glow.
"Stop thief!" She cried theatrically, pausing as her heart raced wildly again. "You're not going to steal any of our precious pokemon! Sableye, use Shadow Ball!"
Of course, the woman jumped back as quick as she could, not wanting to be attacked by the Ralts, or what she took to be a man, despite his long hair. Sableye spoke to the Ralts again, after hearing the Professor's command to attack. "I'm afraid that is not an option." He was well acquainted with Team Death, and a couple higher-ups there - but he wasn't necessarily taking a vacation in this place. He was stationed here only a week before by his true mistress, to protect this place from all intruders until she called him back to her. With that, the Dark-Ghost hybrid opened his grinning mouth, and a black orbesque ball formed, dark purple etched into it, oozing around it, like a thin slimy shield. Within the nanosecond it was formed to a size a little bigger than a baseball, it shot towards the Light Ralts, that would remind one of a cannonball.

The voice rang through the walls of the lab, letting anyone else in the building hear the ruckus from their point. Hopefully no one else was there, but her appearance was inevitably known, and it wasn't too much to use her voice. "I didn't say I needed a pokemon. Just a starter pack. But I guess a pokemon wouldn't be half bad, hmm?" She said, replying to the girl.
However, the Shadow Ball was expected in response to her intrusion. Unfortunately, it wasn't expected to be so quick of an attack. The ball raged towards the light Ralts who was cowering in much fear. Kendall grunted as the shadow ball quickly consumed the ralts. The attack quickly tossed the pokemon aside without any effort. The level difference was just too much, and Kendall didn't have a pokemon high enough to face this professor.
Although familiar, the girl's identity was out of her reach. A voice wasn't enough to place a face with the girl. Kendall thought for a second. If this was the side of the building, then the front was only a few rooms away. Thats where the starter packs were, in a closet somewhere...
Kendall quickly returned her Ralts and dashed. She was going for the doorway the girl had entered. Past there, and maybe another room and she would reach the front, right? How she had hoped her senses were leading her right.

"I didn't say I needed a pokémon. Just a starter pack. But I guess a pokémon wouldn't be half bad, hmm?"
The Professor's mouth was almost a perfect 'O' shape. "No you may not! You most definitely may not!" she paused, for dramatic effect. She should've been a free-lance actress. "I'll get you arrested, you have my promise on that!" But she wasn't brave enough to come out of her hiding place, and was perfectly content with staying where she was.
Sableye returned to the Professor's side. With some difficulty, he managed to say, "What . . want . . do?" His voice was like a blurry static, the pauses in his speech reminding the Professor even more of blanking television. Her eyebrows arched. "Follow her, of course! Find out her identity!" she snapped in hushed tones. The Sableye's sapphires glinted, and was gone.
Sableye watched Kendall reach the room where the starter packs were stored. There was no lock on the cupboard filled with them in paper bags for easy access on busy days. The other room that contained the starter pokemon were usually locked, however. He recalled her face. Oh yes, he remembered it well. Floating onto a desk edge, he sat in a nonchalant position, watching what she would do, with utmost curiosity as if to test her abilities.

"Arrested hm?" She mumbled to herself as she surpassed to the next room. The darkened room was only illuminated by the glare or the piercing sapphire eyes on her back, witch to her fortune, were invisible. She was tense at the moment, knowing the faster she worked the quicker she would escape and getting it over with.
She quickly ran her hands along the wall in hopes of finding a light switch. Maybe the darkness was concealing her identity, but she needed the light to finish her mission.
Her hands stopped as she slender fingers pressed against a small nub in the wall. She quickly pushed it up to turn on the light, revealing every corner of the current room. She smirked as she quickly eyed a closet nearby. She moved fast and opened the closet. Lucky for her it was open. She snatched a bag, the ruffling of the brown bag was an ache to her ears.

Sableye was slightly startled that this thief would have the audacity to turn on the light switch. The security cameras would probably have zoomed in quite quickly and made perfect sense of her face now. He shook his head, invisible to the world, making his sapphire eyes dull and duller until they too were invisible.
The paper bag that Kendall now held had all of the Starter Items needed for her Team Death Mission. Kendall has succeeded her First Level Team Death Mission.
The Professor jerked up as she realized someone had turned on the lights, which in effect, turned on the entire B Division of the building. She snapped her fingers as she smiled. "Yes, I am going to put you in jail."
Sableye, realizing that this Team Death member may have just put the entire organization into jeopardy, leapt into action. He used Night Shade on the one security camera in the room, causing it to fry and become metal junk. He closed the door behind him, assuming that she would break the other window in that room to get out, and came back to the Professor.
"Well?" She looked at the now visible goblin with an eerie eagerness.
Sableye shook his head slowly, his grin pointing towards a frown at the ends of his 'lips'. "Broken."
The Professor took some time to realize that what the security pokémon meant was that the camera was broken. He had hinted that it was possibly quite a while ago. She wouldn't know, since she hadn't checked the tapes for a few months now. Her hopes shattered alive, she cried out an extravagant "Nooooooooo!" that would have rivaled the acting of Darth Vader even.
In her disappointment, she snapped at the Sableye to return to his original mistress, whom she didn't know very well. That mistress was Mie Akiko of Death Kiss.

Kendall smiled as she saw the Sableye take action. The attack frightened her at first, but she realized soon that it wasn't directed at her. Shattering glass was heard, and the cameras had broken. Was this pokemon....working for someone else? Surly a tame pokemon as such wouldn't help a Team Death.. or Death Kiss member.
She sneered and quickly ran, not even wasting time to release a pokemon to break the window. She jumped out, making sure she wouldn't fall. She landed on her feet and took off.
Mission Completion! --As Leo from the Little Einsteins would say. -Fin.-
